    Well Done Gabe. Definitely things I need to change with the largest being the dreaded double bogey that pops up seemingly when I am playing well and hook one into a water hazard or OB. When I eliminate that mistake my rounds are very solid. In 2021, I will be a single digit player. Thank you so much for the insight to focus back on the basics.

    Gabe! Great video and advice. I also have the single digit handicap goal along with breaking 80. Definitely getting the ego out of the way and taking your medicine is key to how I have improved. Golfsidekick is the Baus. It is a shame as I really started to shoot consistently in the 80s the last few times out last year but then the snow came. Cant wait to get out and play again because I felt like I was starting to get it. Keep up the grind bro

    Well said! Another great vid Gabe. Scott Fawcett and Adam Young I think have the best take on course strategy and how to apply it to the game for scoring respectively to ones skill level. Especially Scott’s take on when and where to hit driver when playing.

    • @GabeGallucciGolf
      @GabeGallucciGolf  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t know about Adam’s approach but Scott’s a genius. I think Scott’s approach can really only takeover once you’ve got your ball striking down, when I was a 10 handicap I wouldn’t have been able to apply it the same way I can now

    100% on all of these points. From a guy who went from a mid 20s down to a current 10.1, you're spot on. Even on hole 1. 300 yards? Can hit a 8 iron off tee easily 160, then have a 9/PW in.

    • @theweekendhack
      @theweekendhack 3 роки тому

      Also on the fringe green stuff. All depends where the pins at. If I'm close (within 15-20) to the pin, I'll use a putter thru 2-3ft of fringe. If the pins far like in the video and gotta run it with an iron. I use a 48 a lot for those.

    And Golf Sidekick is a baus (also sent me here yesterday, loved that he did!). Been watching him for a long time as well.

    I’m a 56 yo single figure player. Never got there until I hit 50 years of age. And have been 7-9 for the last 6 .5 years. My tips are, forget ego with the driver. I know a lot of guys that hit 60-70 yards further than I do but sit around 12-15 HC. Once you learn to hit fairways swinging at 80-90% life will get better. I only average 230 with the driver. My next tip is get Arccos or Shotscope and find out how far you hit clubs on average. Not your best and then work on hitting those clubs with a distance variation as small as possible. I laugh when guys say I hit my 9iron 170... great but if your low end 9 is 130 how can u count on it. And lastly 95% of practice should be from 130 yards in. Master getting on the green and in as quickly as possible. Scoring is done at that end. And practice putting to length consistently and never blame your stroke always blame your read. Mentally it’s easier to bounce back in your round if you are not hung up on your stroke

    Why does everyone say hitting a straight shot is the hardest? Either way matchups have to be made to accurately hit the shot you are trying to hit. If I have say 60 yard fairway, aim down the middle I have 60 yards right and left to miss. If I try to hit a fade, aim down the left I have 60 yards to the right but if I pull it prob dead. Can someone clarify why hitting a shape is better then trying to hit it straight?
