Good reminder....we get tend to get lazy when everything goes right fora while. Dummy here (me) pulled out one morning without doing a check (after having done it every morning for years) and rolled a flat tire right off the rim.

The paper towel holder for TP is genius. LOL. Get some Museum Putty from Amazon. It will hold things on a horizontal surface quite securely but not permanently. Good for things like Kleenex boxes. It's great to see you happily decorating your home just the way you want it. Jax makes me laugh. Safe travels.
Eric, try Command Strips if you want to attach things to the wall or whatever without holes, marks or whatever........

There is a sticky thingy called doit that works for hanging almost everything.

Really does...the only thing I dislike is the dead cat reference. Considering Eric is a loving cat owner, it just seems like it could be called something else.
Like a muff, muffler...or something to that effect. But he's definitely got the best equipment.

Just yesterday I was leaving to go dump my tanks and I took my obligatory walk around, which I always thought was a waste of time, and saw I did not retract my slide...I was positive I had...Damn, gremlins.
Best thing I installed in my large closet was a 3 level wire storage shelf. Walmart.
I put it in sideways in the closet because it’s so deep, and it fits perfectly. It holds my drinking water and veggies plus a hole bunch of things that you need to get at often. I put large baskets on the top shelf, they stay in place cause the whole thing has edges on all shelves, so things don’t slide off. Other smaller baskets on second shelf. It also has a space big enough for my tiny tool box to fit under the bottom shelf. Love this shelf, it really helps a rather large whole in the closet that doesn’t get utilized.

One thing about it, Eric, you and Jax interacting are infinitely entertaining. First rate entertainment.
We found ourselves in that same wind, again, this past weekend. ALSO on 412. But east of Tulsa. Not so flat and ugly. Lol. A few times I yelled OMG because our travel trailer was blowing around so hard. We also follow The Glamping Guys. Love those two, they are a hoot. Belly rubs for Max from us. Safe travels!
I use bulldog clips to hold my privacy curtain in place, I also use the shelf liner perforated foamy material stuff on my counter and nothing moves not even my Kleenex box 😄
That tapping would drive me insane too!!

My tip, I always touch every tire when I stop to test for heat. After a while it is very good at detecting brake issues & tire pressure.

Try command tape on the bottom of things you want to stay in place, or heavy duty Velcro for big things. That way no holes and easy to change.
Eric are you installing outdoor cameras monitoring system again. My opinion it's very important goal.
Definitely, he had one of the best security systems you could want, and I'm sure eventually he'll invest in that. I think another thing that he used to have, which was really, not only fun, but I think practical was that big honking horn. That'll certainly gets someone's attention.

When you drain the tanks, always open the gray first for a minute or two! If there are any problems with the hose or connections, it's a LOT more fun to find out with GRAY water than it would be with BLACK water! After you've confirmed the connections and hose are good, drain the black water, THEN fully drain the gray to rinse your hose and connections. The same way we do the gray for a minute first, is the way we pull out from any spot when we were both away from the rig - yes, including shopping. Go just a few feet, STOP, do another walk around the rig and the toad, BEFORE hitting the open road. It is better safe than sorry, ALWAYS. Great video, Eric!

I like that little pantry closet on the side of the refrigerator, frankly, because it is convenient when he is parked without using the slides, that would be a more effective and easy access for his foods rather than trying to stretch across to cupboards.
He's quite a genius and will figure out a lot of unique ways to make it work.

I believe that he's on edge as of late because of all that he has been through and adjusting to. Sometimes life goes in a different direction than we hope or plan...we never know why until things evolve for the better. 🙂

I use commend velco strips instead of the screws I used them for pictures in my rig works really well. I used to live in OK and the wind always blows.
We use them too and they work awesomely!
I like using the Command Velcro strips with clear plastic bins. They are easy to move around, and no mess when removing from a countertop or a wall.

I have a brand new Coachman and it has plenty of rattles! I put 10,000 miles on it on 2 trips and we got use to the rattles our Atwood stove was not real bad, it's the crappy screen door! We put a rug against it and it really helped! Thanks Eric I know this time is hard for you, but I enjoy your videos so much better! You seem happier!
Magazine holders for pots, pans,and plates. It stores them on their sides for more cabinet spaces! 👍. Eric, I enjoy your videos!!

Just wanted to share a bathroom hack we did in our class A. Get a towel bar. Attach it to the wall just a few inches above the counter. You can’t hang a towel there, obviously, but you CAN put things like mouthwash, deodorant, body spray, etc behind the bar and they stay in place when in travel mode. Hope you and Jax are enjoying all the extra space in the new home! See y’all down the road!

I use Velcro...on some of my shelf “stay out” items. It’s been a perfect solution.
3M strips can be easily removed with the pull tab and don't damage the 'wallpaper', available in sticky or velcro. Much better than nails.
Thanks for sharing the tip about the stove top. I dismantle my stove, top and inside for each trip. I'm looking for screw today:) For attaching stuff, command hooks, industrial velcro, and museum putty.
Instead of using screws , I've been using hook & loop tape for years. that way you can easily pickup counter items to clean around !
Put it on back of remotes & attach to wall by table.
Eric, get an Easy Start 364 from Micro Air. I can run my AC on a 2000 watt Yamaha due to lowered starting amps.
Wow..if I had something that expensive, I think I'd be doing some serious checks before I head out! Crazy.

I put a strip of velcro on my steering wheel to remind me to walk around and check the van before taking off.

I bought a set of keychain/lanyards that replicate the "Remove Before Flight" attachments seen on aircraft.
One to power pole/water box.
One to sewer hose.
One to rear manual jacks.
One to front manual jacks.
They have snap buckles; half stays inside on key rack and the other half goes outside to the respective spots.
If I do not see all four inside before leaving, time for another walk around...........

I saw a guy that had about a half dozen different colored velcro strips on his steering wheel. Each one was for something different. One was for his crank-up antenna. When the antenna was down the velcro was on the crank. When he cranked it up, he would move the velcro from the crank to the steering wheel, then reverse when he was ready to leave. I thought it was really clever, but, being a pilot for 40 years, I'm hard-wired to use checklists.

Eric.....no need to ruin pristine walls in bathroom to secure your bench basket. We just lay some non slip rubberised matting cut to suit on bench and place baskets etc on top. Never move!.. in Australia we get it for around $us1.50 per metre. Comes in all different colours.
Wicker baskets are wonderful storage containers - and they’re pretty. Usually there are handles as a bonus. You could put a basket on each side of your dinette for loose things - easy to move - easy to store..........yes, I’ve been an Airstream camper most of my life. Started out with my parents at 6 years old in a little silver egg called a Caravelle (18’) and ended up in a 34’ Airstream Excella 1000 - so I’ve learned a lot of tricks. Baskets are one of my favorites.
A person could get rich if they could invent an affordable AC unit to work in a RV that does not sound like a jet plane.
There is one Its called whisper quiet A/C.....
Newer RVs have built-in ductwork in the ceiling. Similar to a house. Very quiet and directs the air where you need it most.
@@photojed true, but Whisper Quiet systems have roughly 30% less cooling efficiency and are harder to service. Keystone and a few other have tried to increase the return flow by spacing the registers closer but that's only improved the efficiency by less than 5%.

My goal is to retrofit a mini split. Build it in to a ventilated compartment, not just hung off back bumper. Much higher efficiency, lower amp load, quieter.

The A/C soft start device you need is from Micro Air. Reduces the initial electrical load you need to start the compressor. They offer a few different models for different size A/C units. Enables you to start and run your A/C from an ordinary compressor.
I always did a walk around when I moved from Alaska and travels to Pensilvania and back to Oregon to live. Even if I didn’t unhook the trailer. You can forget hoses, blocks and things under you. Also for traveling I used Velcro on the bottom of a basket or tiny 3 drawer storage for the bathroom counter and the rubber shelving stuff. Worked great in the kitchen. Love the new RV.
Eric, it is great to see you back making the videos that really define you! Seeing sights, giving useful ideas for the RV, and just general RV info!
Eric, I used Contact brand gripper drawer liner under everything in the RV and nothing shifts around. You can cut it to fit under every single thing you’ve got that you don’t want to move. It is great stuff! I gather it up and stuff it into a tote bag when we are parked somewhere and then pull it back out again and put it underneath everything that I don’t want shifting around while we’re traveling. It never fails. Just thought you may want to know another method so you don’t have to drill holes in your walls.

Hot glue is great. Hot glue pops off smooth surfaces when pried off with a scraper. Hot glue a decorative bucket, cup or a wood rail onto the counter top. Holds great and pops right off the counter top when you want to remove it. The rail can be cut from wood trim pieces from your favorite home improvement store.

Love the video. Unfortunately we are to new to RVing to have any great storage ideas. That is another reason I like watching your videos, so I can learn from you. We have a Class A diesel pusher and we tow a Lincoln MKX. The very first thing we do is hook up the tow bars. I couldn't even imagine hooking up anything else first. When we are done we check to make sure all the lights work and that the car is rolling free before we take off. We are fortunate. We have access to everything except one cabinet in the kitchen when our slides are in.
Why not attach the baskets with command strips so you don't have to drill holes into your walls?

Yikes on the car!!! One if my fav things is my no roll paper towel holder that I mounted above my microwave. Other things are either industrial strength velcroed down or puttied down. My bathroom, I attached a behind the toilet shelving unit, which baskets sit on, bungied down for travel. Gives me a place for towels & such. My motorhome is full of hacks! Those high winds can become quickly annoying. Stay safe!

Hi Eric, I know you already made the fix to the stove top but it is supposed to be held in place by a spring latch at the front center of the top. The back of the top should have had two tabs on it, one on the left side and one on the right side, to hold the back in place. I have the exact same stove in my TT that is how I know. I just wanted to let you know for future reference that's all. Thanks for all the hard work on your videos and I am always amazed to watch so many people leave an RV park, or somewhere that they have been staying at, and NEVER do a circle check of their rig before they pull out to hit the road.

I enjoy seeing all those tips from other travelers as well because one can use them in their own home. My son uses command strips for a lot of things in his own home and it’s no holes! For all the things on your table, what about a bigger plastic cube to store things in and then just set it under the table when you are driving. RVLove did a make over and they have an office area that you could make similar in that lower bunk area in your hall. People that work on the road and do all the editing really need a workable computer area. I tell people there are more days with wind here than w/out. I’m on 412 in Arkansas. Lol💨

Velcro heavy duty on the bottoms of things works great and does not damage walls
That is the same tow bar that we use, after watching this I'm glad we added the extra break away cable, it would have set the brakes thru a one way slip device and the car would not have followed the rig, it would have locked down the brakes on the car and break the cable. On a side note, you need to check your tow bar Everytime you stop,I have heard of times when someone will unhook it for you, either out of meanness or to steal your car after you drive of without it. Safe travels.
Eric…keep em coming. Your editing, comments are spot on . And these Class A gassers are absolutely brutal on a lot of roadways, it’s not just yours. Watch your slide toppers in those high winds. We have a full wall slide 30ft. were the topper was actually torn from its mount in one corner during an overnight stay in Pa.The winds there were pushing gusts of 50-60 mph. Didn’t really think about it until the next morning. $1800.00 later will keep reminding me of that mistake!
Our Atwood stove top is held in by a compression spring mount. Check to see if maybe your spring is broken or missing.

You beat me to it. I have the same stove top with the folding cover and it doesn't rattle a bit.

Velcro and suction cups are your RV friends. You can glue both to items and it will hold just about everything. As long as you have a flat surface, suction cups will work great. Plastic bins for cabinets are ideal as well. Good video, nice helpful tips.
Hi, just thought I’d tell you I have the same stove, and I was having the same problem. The stove is designed with a spring loaded system at the back. You push back as hard as you can on the spring loaded back of the stove top and then push down on the front as you bring it forward and it snaps into little holders. I was having trouble doing it so I thought it was defective. I got a little more insistent with pushing back and it went in just fine. Your video inspired me to keep trying. Have a great day!
We went to a lake campground in the mountains when I was a teenager. The road was gravel and very hilly. Sunday morning it started pouring rain and everyone started packing up to leave because of the roads. We were sitting at the top of a hill and a truck pulling a boat was in front of us. My dad said he was going to wait for the truck to get up the hill because he was afraid that either of us would get stuck in the mud. The truck was half way up the other side and the boat came loose and rolled back down the hill and off the side of the road. I'm glad my dad waited or else we would have had a boat in the front of our RV.
I just love Jax! What a really cool cat! To keep the baskets (and other things) from sliding around you could use some two sided carpet or linoleum tape to keep them in place and you won't have any holes in anything.
If you haven’t been to one. I would check out The Container Store. They have storage for everything. I usually go and walkthrough to see what’s new, and will find storage items for things I never thought of. Thank you for the videos. Safe travels, keep the rubber on the road in those high winds.
Agreed, the container store is an excellent place to find solutions for almost everything.
You can even order things online, but the stores have extensive selections.
I’ve got a small plastic case that stores various sizes of Command hooks and picture hanging strips and industrial strength Velcro.

The baskets are nice! I probably would have mounted them up on the wall and kept the counter space available, but it's great how versatile they can be.

Best noise stopper we used. Putting the foam rolled liner in the passenger window track in our class A. It was awful rattling until we did this. No more rattling.
Maybe try using some strong rare earth magnets between the loose parts of your stovetop to fix your rattle issue.
I was going to suggest some of that soldering heat shield padding, but I like your idea better. Crowd-sourcing solutions is so much simpler with the internet as a tool. Cheers
We take our stove rack off when we travel such a pain lol love your basket idea!
Find a large butcher block cutting board with a glued rubber type backing on the back it will keep your stove from rattling and will not slide off. It will increase the counter space as well when not using your stove top. I think we got ours at Camping World, it has been a long time of go but they may still have them. It really works for us.
For storage under any counter or even under your bedside cabinets, these are awesome. I don’t know how to make a link so here is the description from amazon. “Anything Keeper - Home or Office, RV, and Boat Organizer”. They are little black magnetic storage shelves that swing down and out. I have 5 of them in my rig.
OH. MY. WORD...I could not have stood to hear that rattling either, good fix Eric!!
With the storage under your dinette, WM sells plastic tubs with wheels that fill up the space under the seats almost perfectly, and the plastic top used under the tub makes pulling the tub out from under the seat a breeze. Excellent video again
Well I already have sliding deep drawers there doing the same thing. And I love the storage.
Hi Eric, when we bought the Winnie we did measured and bought containers for almost every cabinet, and some we stacked. Keeps everything in place and so much easier as you said to bring down the tote and get what you need. I did the same thing at home in my deep cabinets : )

STORAGE SOLUTIONS: Love hanging shoe pockets for...well...shoes, and other things. 3M command strips with Velcro for pictures. Hooks, hooks, hooks for jackets, hats, leashes. I have a 14’ trailer for 2 people and an 80 pound dog! Storage is KEY! Keep showing that belly, Jax! We love you guys!
I know somebody that tows a caravan behind the car and has been doing so for over 30 years and before that a trailer tent. He always not only double checks but triple checks the caravan is hooked up to the tow bar correctly the safety break away chain is connected and the cable for the lights on the rear of the caravan are connected to the tow bar electric socket connection and checks all rear lights are working before driving off. Some may say over kill all that but better safe than sorry and it is a legal requirement to have working rear lights on a caravan when being towed. Jax is just adorable the way he meows when you say are you hungry jax do you want feeding. The baskets for storage will definitely help my advice is white velcro instead of screws, and the way you secured your cooker top you can also get plastic caps that have a easy pop off top should you want to remove the screws to remove the top to clean it. You can get these white plastic caps maybe you can get black if not just get white plastic caps and a small painting brush and a small can of black paint and paint the plastic caps black that will then blend the plastic caps in with the black cooker top.
