Huge Motorhome Goes Over The Edge! Can we save it??

  • The owner of this RV pulled over on the shoulder of the road to let traffic by when he got a little too close to the edge and it gave way. The huge class A diesel pusher went over on its side and somehow stopped before rolling down the mountain. It was in an incredibly dangerous position and ready to fall over with the slightest movement. So I called up ‪@PuddleJumperTowingEugene‬ to see if their rotator was available, and they sent a crew up the mountain from their end, while I brought my equipment up from our end.
Between the two of us we came up with a plan that we both felt would be the lowest risk to rolling the RV, while also minimizing any additional damage during the recovery. Unfortunately in some situations, and especially with RV’s, there’s just no reasonable way to complete the job without a few extra scratches, or some cracked fiberglass. But in this case I’m very proud to say that the job was pulled off with the only additional damage beyond the accident being a dented fuel filter. After all was said and done, we got everything that was preventing it from being safely drivable fixed and they were able to continue their trip under their own power instead of on the back of my wrecker.
I have to say a massive thank you to the crew at Puddle Jumper for bringing in their beautiful rotator to make this happen. Their equipment combined with my ‪@zackliftinternational4841‬ and ‪@SeriousTrucks‬ were a great complement to each other and proved to be a very capable package.

The level of care and attention being given to this recovery speaks volumes about both wrecker operators. I've got a 30' DP and this is probably one of the biggest fears that I have with my rig - it's so easy to put it into a very dangerous situation. A nerve wracking job done very, very well. I loved his expression at the end when you told him no charge for your work (and it makes me glad to be a member and a Patreon member as well)

Completely amazing! I’m impressed how you and Puddle Jumper worked so seamlessly and carefully to rescue this RV. Best case scenario, the owner could drive it off! It’s awesome you were able to do this recovery for no charge. A few years ago, I backed my RV off a friend’s driveway and it was leaning at an angle threatening to roll downhill. I contacted Extreme Towing and they got it back up on the driveway with no damage. Best case scenario. Due to searching on line for a company that could handle the job, UA-cam recommended Casey’s channel and I have enjoyed watching his content ever since. 👏👏👏

Talk about a cliffhanger! That was tough! Two great teams working together to get this guy back on the road. I noticed both companies left something back at the yard going on this recovery-- their ego. Two highly knowledgeable guys working together like they'd been doing this awhile. Thank you Casey for all the work you did to get him off the hook literally. You two didn't have to fix the issues with the coach but you did. That speaks volumes about all of you. Get some rest dear, you know that phone will ring again soon enough. Stay safe and GOD bless

The only word that I can come up with is MAGNIFICENT! That is speaking about the process used by all of the people that were involved as well as the fact that the monster RV didn't go off the edge due to a gust of wind! And also, the look on the face of the guy at the end when you said to him "no charge". It nearly knocked him over too. Thank you from me for accomplishing the task (with the help of the other crew).

You people are smart, kind, knowledgeable, funny and decent, in one word: respectable. You’re lightyears away from the baffling array of American politicians we see on the news in Europe. And also from the endless ‘confrontations’ on Yt with Americans who are apparently not interested in (or educated on) anything ("name 2 countries outside the US"…… blank stare…)

Usually, what you see on tv and social media is just a small glimpse of what America is. The stuff that is sensational enough to be "news", or entertaining enough to get views. Doesn't mean it isn't true, but it's only part of what's going on. Channels like Casey's are where you can really see what it's like, and what the people are like.

Great job Casey and Puddle Jumper Towing! I'm really surprised that RV didn't roll over as much as that was leaning. Awesome video Casey and it was great watching you and a rotator work together to save that RV without any damage. Stay safe out there!!

Thanks for letting us see most of the recovery. Yes you edited out a lot. Five hours to an hour and four hours of driving to minutes. When we needed to understand something you told us with a voice over. Over all thanks for letting me allow you to help him. Thanks for all that you do.

Wow! Great collaboration with Puddle Jumper! No egos, just mutual respect and working together to accomplish the same goal. Awesome no damage to the RV, no one was hurt, issues fixed and he could drive it! The look on his face when you told him no charge for your services 😊Thank You Casey! ❤️🙏

"I never said I was good at this!" But honestly, the assessment, plan, commo with the other team and working the plan, adapting on the fly ....
Methinks you been lying to us, old son. You are pretty good at this! (Understatement, I'm a truck driver over 30 years, I've seen my share of recoveries and clown shows)

I am totally amazed that RV did not slide off down into the ditch, and roll over.
I kept thinking, that is the same size motorhome that my sister has, which is parked on my acreage....
It had a lot of issues when I went up to Price, Utah to bring it home, to Oklahoma.
Expensive repair bills, it had not been used in over 5 years, and diesels don't like that.
the Steps would not Retract, a bad control module as it happened.
and more, but enough of that....
I was extremely acquainted with the RV Frame underneath that you were working with. and when I first saw it, thought "Oh crap", the slings are going to cave the roof in....
Bravo to all for a job well done.... and Proud to be a Patreon subscriber.

Well orchestrated symphony. Nicely done. No egos, just everyone working together for the best outcome. Love it.
A bit of a contrast to shops, when you come in for a squeaky break they claim your brand-new transmission needs replaced.

Everyone knows you could easily get content and still charge and in this case it would have cost a lot. That fact that you don't when you can speaks volumes to the man that you are.

Although I recall that Casey doesn’t like voiceovers, the one around 27:00 (and again at 50:00 and 1:03:00) really does help explain what happened at that point, so thanks!
Addendum - 😯 Using a zip tie on a strap to help fish it through a wheel at 29:14? Thought I would never see that here based on previous comments.

    • @MichaelSteeves

Yup, the voiceovers really worked to help explain things. It can be tough to change production style, but Casey, remember that we liked your voiceovers when they add context and value to the video!
