Easiest Crochet Beanie - Fast and Easy, Beginner Level

- In this video I will share my easiest and fastest crochet beanie pattern. This crochet beanie hat is so fun and easy to make, it's perfect for beginners.
This is the basic beanie hat I use for my character animal hats. All the instructions are the same as in the video for all sizes but just the size of the crochet hook changes. I suggest you always use medium weight yarn if you want to use a 6mm crochet hook.
Remember, these are just suggestions everyone crochets with a different tension and your beanie might be bigger or smaller than others.
Infant- Size G Hook, Babies Size H hook, Toddler Size I hook. To crochet a beanie for an older child use a size J hook and a medium weight worsted yarn. For adults you can use
a size K hook and a heavier weight of yarn (maybe even a chunky weight. The pattern is the same for all sizes. Only the size of hook and weight of yarn changes. This makes this the perfect beanie pattern for all sizes. From Baby - adult size. Follow the same pattern. Happy crocheting

This is such a fabulous and easy pattern! Thank you so much. I am just starting to learn how to crochet and have made over 40 scarves to put into care packages for the homeless, but had to purchase hats because I didn’t know how to make them yet, and now I can make the beanie hats to go with the scarves for an extra layer of warmth for them. I crocheted along and made my very first hat as I watched this tutorial. Such a blessing to find your channel! Thank you for sharing this video. 🙏🏼🧶
I'm so glad you found this video helpful. Thanks for your charity work
I made a multi-colored beanie for my 10 year old daughter using scrap/leftover yarns using your pattern. So cute.
Thank you for this. I made a scarf for my 65 yo father the other day and he likes wearing a beanie type hat over his ears while he works, as he is outside a lot, and I could not for the life of me figure out a magic circle. I've been crocheting since I was a kid and I don't ever remember learning how to do that, and I'm 40 now. This video helped me out so very much. I too have a channel where I do makeup and sometimes handmade jewelry, but figured I'd show some love!
I am a medium level knitter but I have always wanted to learn how to crochet. Tried following numerous videos but none made it easier for me to understand than this one. I have made this beanie and I thank you!
You are always so clear in your instructions that it gives me confidence to try these things. Thank you!
you can do it.. just take your time.
Stop the video.
Fantastic. I'm teaching my grandson.
Thank you for your instructions that was clear.
I made one.
I've seen a lot of beanies made but never one as easy as this one. Thank you for the tutorial. Going to give it a try.
I like the different way you did the increases on the crown of the beanie instead of the traditional way. This technique actually makes for a quicker beanie; thanks for the tip, I'm gonna use it 🙂
You are so welcome!
Just finished it and absolutely love it!
This is a lovely pattern, thanks for explaining it so nicely
Beautiful Beanie. Finally a pattern teacher who instructs as you do. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for your videos. Really easy to understand. The most beautiful thing is what you said at the end “ To remember God loves us “ thank you. Thanks to God our Heavenly Father for being our Father and for you. That his Blessing is always with you and holds you. In Jesus’s Name Amen
This was the easiest, fastest, simplest crochet video I watched! It was so easy to follow along! Thank you so much!
This is so amazing and quick, the best ever! I make a lot of beanies and I like taking a good basic one like this and then just working up anything I come up with on the body of the hat. Thanks, you've made beanies even more fun for me now!

How to crochet a cross

Could you do left hand because I’m left hand and I love ❤️ your work
How can I make a beanie with just hdc instead of dc’s?
Thank you for the awesome tutorial
thank you
Would I be able to use lion brand thick and quick, size 6 to make this? Would you suggest using the suggested hook size or sizing up for a chunkier look? I'm a newbie and would like to follow this tutorial you made. Thank you so much for any advice!
No, you would need to use a weight 4 yarn.. worsted weight
Would you have an easy pattern to crochet the little mermaid blanket for a twin bed
Thanks
From one Yolanda to another... thank your sharing your pattern. I have quick question, if I find my stitches are a bit loose, should I go down a half hook size?
For me, a 6 mm hook makes a hat too small to fit my head. I will redo it with a 7 mm and see how it fits. Otherwise, the numbers seem to work for shaping. Thanks.
Let me know how it works
@@yolandasotolopezI’m at row 13 and it fits me! I’ll add a roll up brim and be done! (I crocheted 18 rows and have a nice fold up brim on it!)
I must crochet tight (or have a big head)!😉
😊
I tried this pattern and it ended up looking like a large dinner plate and never became a beanie. Interested in what I am doing wrong since this is the 2nd crochet pattern I've tried to make a beanie and the 2nd dinner plate I crafted.
Me too :(
I'm a beginner...so for what it's worth. I found it's the size of the crochet hook. To large it's flat, to small it's like like a dolls hat. I use a 5.5 to a 6.
Just the thingni wanted
good
If I were to use to skeins together how much of a difference would it make if any.
Is there a printed version of this video?
Your tam is fine if u live where it’s warm, here its in the minus
I love in San Diego, California
Will this fit a 24 inch head?
Do u continue chaining 3 after each subsequent row after the 4th row?
yes
what is the stitch count for adult size? it was 48 before increase
Is it always 48 stivhes
Hi dear how many DC fir an adults with the size 6 mm hook? Thank you 😊
God bless you
you start with 12 in the first round.. remember, the chain 3 counts as one double crochet
All Crafts Channel thanks
Mine looks like a plate too .
How do you get the pattern for this video
Hello
This is so easy. You made it so.
Thank you.
you are welcome, thanks for watching
Can you tell me how many inches the crown area is
I am still struggling with the loop at the very beginning. Could you possibly explain it to me?
Well I definitely messed up somewhere 😫. I felt like I was doing everything right. Started dc once to each stitch once I was done increasing and the "beanie" is flimsy and not taking form. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
did you use medium weight yarn / worsted?
@@yolandasotolopez Yes ! It started to form and take shape initially and then lost shape as I continued!
@@SoulGirlBranesha Same thing happened to me ☹️
for rows 5-12, is the stitch count still 54?
child’s pattern of this beanie, pls...
Hi
Free the Bronx
Hi yolanda, I am a little confused I have a hook that is a J hook but it is a 5.75. Now I hear you say a J hook is a 6 mm. Can you please tell the diferent?
there might be some differences.. but it should be ok..
@@yolandasotolopez thank you Yolanda for answer my question. It is very sweet of you. Also I want to tell you that I finished a hat from your tutorial. The rib stich hat, it was very easy. Thank you very much.🌹
mine ended up too small ☹️ what did I do wrong
Did you use the worsted weight yarn and correct hook size? The weight of the yarn can make a big difference
Can you tell me where the written pattern instructions are for this hat? Thanks!
On revelry.. look for basic beanie.

I tried this and its forming like it will be too small for a male
Hi! If it’s too small you can keep adding decrease rounds at the top of the hat until it mesures a males head size
😘👏👏👏🧶🥰😍❤️👍
Jesus was eating food
You are crocheting way too fast. For a beginner other ppl go slower for the first 3 and then fast forward.
Hi! If you are having trouble understanding or it’s too fast for you then you can read the written pattern! :)
this was not easy to follow. way to fast and not good at explaining getting started.
