This is the best video for learning a beanie from the top down, there is no " trust the process " moment. It all makes sense from the beginning. very ADHD FRIENDLY ❤❤❤
I messed up a whole slip stitch knit hat before starting this one. Your explanations and methods were such a relief!! Thank you for explaining things well but not too much. It was perfect. I'm excited to give this to my hubby for Vday ❤❤❤❤
I think your way of the magic circle is the simplest I have seen yet! I was like..."wow"... Thank you for taking all the anxiety out of trying to make it because I will say that i was struggling with it until now! ❤
Thank you, just like you I’ve watched so many video tutorials about making magic rings but it didn’t work for me and so I decided to try my own technique and I’m glad I did it. That’s why I am sharing it with you guys. I’m happy that my magic ring tutorial turned easy for you to follow. Thank you so much for watching my videos and please don’t forget to like and subscribe and share 🥰 🙏🙏🙏
I started on a Grey Ribbed Stitched beanie for my dad and got in bed and saw your video on this one. I will make this instead for him and by the way I just ordered the same labels off Amazon a few days ago. I love making hats.
Can you show us how t crochet an XL beanie please. I’m a beginner. Never crochet in my entire life and I’m 74. I plan of making a beanie for my husband because he gets cold very easily. He wears a big beanie. 🙏😊
I am glad to find your video, it was a great work u do. I would love to make the same like yours. But for me as the Beginner, the way how u do the stiches are too fast, hard to follow. Need to watch it again and again😁. But thank you for posted this video
Thank you for the simple crochet hat. I usually don't make simple ones but I wanted a two color one. Loved this. Finished it within 2 hours. Is that budgies that you have I hear? ❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊, and yes it is my beautiful baby parakeet. Unfortunately she is not with us now because we left California to Hawaii and we never had enough time to prepare for her travel documents but we found a very loving grandma to keep her and love her.
There are contradictions in the number of stiches stated in a couple of the rounds; example: 1 dc in next 3, 2 in next 1, 1 in next 4, and 2 in next 1, then repeating it and saying 1 dc in NEXT 4 (versus 3), etc. A bit confusing.
@@lmnop4567 the beginning ch 3 is counted as first double and 1 dc in each 3 for the total of 4 dc then 2Dc in next, then 1 dc in each 4 dc, 2Dc in next then repeat that pattern around
I liked the pattern, but the magic circle is still SO hard for me. It would be nice if you would tell what round your on. How many rounds are total. It would be nice if there was a written pattern.
I really like your pattern so I went ahead and I made another one this time I used a G and a F needle and it worked out so much better. I think my hat looks very nice. Thank you 🙂
Hi mam thank you for this video, i was watching all the tutorilas of crocheting the beanie but i found yours very simple and clearly understandable, but how can i measure my hat with my husband's head? Im afraid if i use your counting it will become big for him, i just want it to be fit for him. Thanks for reply😊❤
Thank you, for the length measure it from round 1 where the magic ring down to the brim, and for circumference measure the brim area (10” inches wide from side to side =20” inches circumference/ 12”inches wide = 24” inches in circumference. I hope it helps you.
@@GinaZampagaE i finished my beanie for my husband.. what i did is, i crochet until round 5 (3 single dc at three chain and 2 dc at the same shirt.. i didn't include another increase (of 1 single dc at the 4 chain and 2 dc on the next chain).. and then i went to round 7 (1 dc on each round) and i repeat 2x (to make it larger).. then i went 5 more rounds of 1 dc on each rounds (bcoz my yarn is single only with 2 diff.colors).. then i went to 1 sc on each chain then 1hdc on another round, then went to front post-back post (3 rounds)😊
Hi, I used pound of love yarn by lion brand , they only have 1 pound per skein but if you wanna use other brand 7 ounce each color is more than enough for one hat
Hi, great video, I have a question: I only have 4mm and 5mm hook and the head circumference is 23", can I still use this same pattern or do I need to increase some more on the stitches please? Thanks in adavance
Hi, you may want to continue do the increasing to get the right circumference for your size before you proceed on the body part of the hat . Thanks and happy crocheting
Just made the medium size and it’s really too large for my son who is 20 years old. Would you suggest missing out on the last increasing rows and a normal row of double crochet? Also, I would love to do this hat for a 1 year old baby what would you suggest? Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi, sorry for the late response, you can reduce 1row for the crown instead of 4dc in each stitch stop at 3dc increase. And for the toddler size here is the link EASY Crochet Toddler Hat | Crochet Hat for KIDS | Kids Beanie Crochet ua-cam.com/video/lM4RHFidRtE/v-deo.html you will do the same reduce one row for the crown. Thank you and happy crocheting 🧶
Hi, try doing a multiple of 14(begin your work with 14 dc instead of 12 dc) and add a couple rounds of increasing for the crown before starting to make the body of the hat. I hope this helps.
The beginning ch2 is counted as the very first back post and followed by front post then bphdc then fphdc then repeat bphdc and fphdc alternately then the very last stitch will be fphdc and join on top of the beginning ch2
Yes you can do the decrease rounds on the crown and the body depending on the size of your child’s head circumference then you can continue for the brim
Do you know the size measurements for the hat in cm? Thanks Thanks! Great video, for anyone else ( beginers) i recommend looking at some vids for the magic ring! :)
Hi there, please restart it again I believe your mistake is at the beginning of the round , you suppose to have 12 stitches in the ring . In the ring make ch3 ( counted as first dc) then make 11 more dc , total 🟰 12 dc in ring including the beginning ch 3 , thank you for reaching out
Thanks for your prompt response. I double checked the 1st Rnd has 12,2nd has 24 and 3rd has 36. The instructions I am following: Ch3, 1dc in nx st, 2dc in nx, 1dc in nx 2,2dc in nx (that's 8 dcs) and then you said 1dc in nx 2, 2dc in nx, 1dc in nx 2 (6dcs) that would be for the next 30 stitches for a total of 36. 36+8=44. Not sure what I am missing in the instructions. Thanks for some more clarification
