I'm very bad at crocheting in the round, so I thought I would never make a hat, then I found this pattern and made my first hat!! It's a little wonky and crooked but I guess the only way forward is to practice with making more of those hats 🥰
Thank you for not skipping the most important steps and showing us!
Finally an easy hat that doesn't involve a magic circle. I have always had a hard time. You have a new subscriber in me!
So happy to hear this!! Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing
Hello! I am a self taught "hooker" when I find a pattern with a Magic circle start I substitute it with a Ch 3 slip stitch into first chain and then crocheting into the middle of the circle you just made. It is stronger than the magic circle and you can crochet over the tail yarn to sinch the whole shut if needed or to have it already weaved in. I hope this helps in your future projects.
This is true for some projects Shannon. The magic circle does make the hole very small and tight though so again for some patterns it is better.
To make the magic circle stronger you can wrap the yarn in a circle around your fingers twice then start your work. Then you have two yarns instead of one.
Lol I agree with you. The easier the better! 🙂
Lol! I've been a crocheter for 60yrs
and the magic circle has always been a stumbling blog for me! 😂😂
This is the easiest and BEST tutorial I have come across for a beginners beanie! My mom and I made our beanies and are in LOVE with them! Thank you so much for a very detailed, thorough, and fun beanie pattern! I truly enjoyed making it. I also love how you get back to your subscribers with any questions they may have for you, it truly shows that you enjoy filming these for us and helping us through our crochet journey. Keep the tutorials coming!
You are so kind!
I am so excited you and your mom got to make this beanie hat.
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment❤️

I’ve watched so many tutorials in the last two years learning to crochet and your slow and clear directions is what I have needed all along! Please continue to make content, youre a natural teacher!
I've subscribed as instructions so clear and at steady pace... 😊
Thank you so much for subscribing! I’m really happy you liked this tutorial.
This does make a great hat and so easy. Thank you for sharing
Just made this hat recently for a friend and it turned out incredible! Thank you for the tutorial
I haven’t crocheted in years and I made this hat in one night, when I couldn’t sleep. Thank you.
i’ve made around 3 hats and i’ve been on the look out for a tutorial that had less of a “bump” at the top. this seems like it’s what i need!! the single stitches at one end are genius. i can’t wait to try this tomorrow on my fourth hat!
Such a nice and clear tutorial. I can't wait to make some for my family and friends now. Thanks!
That’s great!! These are so much fun for everyone. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I think this was THE best beginner tutorial I have watched and one of the easiest hats I have tried to make so far! I love it!
I’m so happy you liked this tutorial and hat. Thank you so much for the great review and for watching.
I have made a few of these for newborns at my hospital. Wonderful pattern. One had a crocheted rose on top instead of a pompom. Adorable and snuggly either way!
I've also started a small baby's coverlet in the same fashion (hdc blo) and it is coming along nicely.
Thank you muchly, Jonna!

Cheryl Anne ES may i know how long did you take to make one ?
@@lm8podtunes324 the first one took about 2.5 hours. I have now made several, in different sizes, and they hardly take any time at all! This is the BEST hat tutorial I've seen and done! I also put faux fur pom poms on them. Have fun making them! 🙂
Thank you so much cheryl! ^^ i’ll start doing that
This is the answer to everything I needed to know!!!!!!!!!❤️

Thank you sooo much. I’m making hat for the homeless. This pattern works up quickly and I’m excited to make many for to keep these precious ones warm. Again, thank you so much
Where do u find homelesses..
I'm doing the same, I've only been crocheting since November 2019, last year and I've made dozens of hat for friends. This summer I was looking for just this type of hat, warm, cute quick to make, to offer to the homeless this winter. These are perfect. Just want to add my thanks.
I made the hat today! I love the pattern! I do a lot of charity crocheting. This will be my new go to pattern. You did a great job on the video. Thanks for sharing!
I just learned to crochet a couple days ago and immediately made this - thank you so much for the clear and easy directions! Super beginner friendly and helpful!
This is so great to hear! Thank you for choosing my tutorial, watching and commenting. Welcome to the world of crochet!

I used to get so mad at these tutorials when I couldn't get it and I'd cuss and yell at the phone when I was younger I'd even sometimes just sit and cry lmao😂😂😂
Thanks your tutorial is well detailed it really helped me a lot. Of all the vlogers teaching how to crochet, you're the only one I followed. Kudos I will be able to finish one hat. I'll post it here once I'm done. ♥️♥️♥️
I’m so happy you liked my tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I've finally found a truly easier explained tutorial that I could follow! Thank you!!.
Yours is the best video on hats. You give number of stitches, and best of all you give the ACTUAL SIZE when on last row. 19 and 11 inches. Thank you so much I could not have finished off without your video 💖💖💖
This is the best hat pattern I’ve found, thank you!
This makes me so happy! Thank you for watching and commenting. ❤️
Agreed!
Your instructions are very easy to follow. Thank you so much!!
Wonderful! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Wow thank you!!! Very Pretty. This is so easy to follow and definitely beginner friendly.
The sure brought back memories. I made this same crochet hat 40 years back. I made lots of them. I even mad them long enough to be a hat scarf together .Very easy , very nice hat. Very beginner friendly. Thank you sharing a lost memory
Sue Peterson
I agree and her sizing is great!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I know have a much neater closure to the top of my hats, by using your single crochet method on one end of the work. Very easy to follow all your instructions. At present I have around 20 hats made and ready to donate to the nearest homeless shelter. Cheers from Nova Scotia.
That’s so wonderful! Thank you for watching and commenting.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STITCH FOR THE HAT.
DEFINITELY WILL HAVE TO MAKE A FEW. THANK YOU FOR SHARING...💗🙂💖
I’m so happy to hear this! Thank you for watching and commenting.
I have your tutorial to thank for my first ever crocheted make. It took me ages because I only had thinner yarn and a smaller hook, but I'm chuffed with my little hat!
Thank you so much for this beginner friendly hat. I started one before I found this. I finished that one and
Just finished one using this pattern. So easy, so nice & it turned out beautiful. I just started crocheting again after
A 20 year break! Lol Thank you for the helpful hints on the ends, I too struggle with trying to get a nice edge.
Looking forward to more projects with you!
Hello Laura! I’m so happy you’re back to crocheting again and have enjoyed making this hat! Thank you for watching and commenting.

Excellent crown closure and pompom section for this quick hat technique!
Great to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting!
The BEST HAT Closure I've seen is to have a Magic circle that you work into at the end. When you're done just pull on the string in your magic circle... And WaLa! Perfect 👍 closure ☺️
Easy and cute.I’m making one for my mom🧡
Wonderful! I’m sure your mom will love the hat you make. Thank you for watching!

Love this hat! I changed it a bit because I was getting confused with the little bit of single crochet in the beginning. After the first chain, I did that first entire row in single crochet then chained one. After each half double crochet row I chained two. Came out great! Thanks so much!
Wonderful! Yes you can certainly just half double crochet back loop only all the stitches. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Beautiful hat! And easy pattern! Thank you so much for posting!! =)
Great to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting.
This is such a great video for beginners to use. I love it thank you!

Great Idea
Thank you I love the hat
Thank you so much for the helpful video. Was easy to catch up.💜
This is my first time with this hat pattern, so far am loving it. I think where other's are maybe going wrong is by using theses measurements, they have to either measure their own heads, or the person they are making them for. I hope this helps others. You explain everything so clear it is really easy to follow. Thank you
since I couldn't find a yarn needle I used one of your old tutorials from about a year ago which was helpful thank you 💗

Hi! new here - in the future, can you put timestamps to the new rows if we will be repeating them? It took me forever to find the start of row two after i finished row three!

I love love love this! I have made 2 so far. The only issue I am having and continue to have, when I do 38 rows, it does't measure 19 inches wide and it doesn't measure 11 inches high. What am I doing wrong. I have to measure it before I make it a hat. What could I be doing wrong?
Does the hat fit the person you want it to fit ? Don’t worry about the dimensions of so. And if it doesn’t fit, add some more rows. This hat is very easy to customize.
Crochet hook size, yarn weight and tension makes a huge difference in crochet.

Mine isn't either lol

Your yarn is probably thinner or thicker than what she used. Crochet a small swatch to get an idea of the number of stitches per inch.
