I have short term memory loss. So I have to watch every time I start a new hot. But you’re such a great teacher.❤
Thank you Doninya 😊
Thanks for this! My family is going through a hard time, and my mom was torn up over not being sure if there would be anything under the tree. Well my yarn, hook, and your video will be sure to give her quite the suprise!
Wow, how wholesome. Sending positive thoughts, I hope it’s something you’re able to enjoy
This is crazy! About 2 hours ago I went out shopping with no real purpose. I was in a discount store and stumbled upon some gorgeous blue yarn and picked up the only hook they had, a 6 mm. All of a sudden I'm here 😂🤯
Smiles definitely a sign
This is how it starts XD welcome to the addiction
I liked it
A year later...are you still crocheting?
2 years later…are you still crocheting?
My aunt wants me to make her a hat, but I’ve never crocheted one before. I went searching for a simple hat pattern, and I’m definitely going to try this out! I wanted a pattern that didn’t include front or back post stitches, because I can’t get the hang of them, so this is perfect!
First time doing reverse stitch and I love it. I used red heart with love and did one less increase row. Came out perfect and I’m ready to make another one. Thanks for being such a great teacher. I pray that the hearts and mind of everyone affected by bullying whether personal or towards a loved one will be healed through your labor of love as you make these hats 🧢.
When you're done, if you don't want to do the border for a quick ruffle hat you can go around the bottom and put five double crochets in each stitch around and than do one double crochet in each stitch for two rounds so three rounds all together. And than I single crochet at the very end for a border. Reminds me of like an old school granny hat.
Thank you for this tutorial, it was so simple!! I tried another tutorial before I found yours that was supposed to also be easy, but not so. I was a bit discouraged until I watched you, and now I have made three beanies!! You are a fantastic teacher!!
💙💙💙💙💙💙thank you sweet Crystal. Making as many as I can!!!! I was bullied and at 57 still have bad memories. Such a great cause!! Bless you💙💙💙💙
I am so sorry. Bullying has no age. I am sick to my stomach when I think of all the bullying that goes on in our world each and everyday. If we can reach just 1 person through this cause we did good. If we can reach the many and stop this and I know that is wishful thinking. Then we all did our job as humans coming together. May God keep you in his grace. 💙
@@mariagandres6724 Hi, How did you do the blue hearts? it sends a powerful message of love.
@@sewesme4866 They truly do. They are in my Android phone choices with my smiley emojis.
@@mariagandres6724 Thank you so much I will do the same!!!
@Liz Hess I'm so sorry you were bullied. I was too and at 58, the memories still come back. I'm going to go to Walmart and buy some blue yarn and get started
💙💙💙🙏💙💙💙
I just finished my first Beanie, and now you have a new title - Goddess Crochet Guru. What's best about this for me is that this is perfect as the Beanie I've always wanted that rests next my ears as long as I only crochet 9 rounds - I love it!! For me, 9 rounds, but when I make a bunch for charity I'll do 12 and 13 rounds. Thank You! 🎶🌟🎉🍷🧶
Oh my word Crystal. I made this in no time & I love it so much. I live in an Independent Adult Facility & most of the elderly have no way to get out to buy their grandkids & great grandkids Christmas gifts & I thought of making a s**t load of these in different colors so they’ll have something to give them. I love this simple video & especially the edging.❤
Just learned how to make this today. It was so easy to make and my favorite was the reverse single crochet. Now on to make the scarf for it. I am doing this to donate to people in need of them. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Crystal! My hat worked up so fast! I added a few stripes and just used 2 rows of sc at the bottom. It comes up slightly bigger than I expected but it's for a Man so that may be for the best! I'm going to start making these as gifts for family, and to give to homeless people for the winter. You're so good at explaining and your camera angles are on point- in other videos it can be really hard to see which stitch they're going into.
I found your tutorial this morning and already made 3 (almost finished with my fourth), beanies! Thank you so much for this easy tutorial!
Hats are what I make the most. I’ve made like 20 hats. I taught myself. But I forgot how to start the round because of my seizures. And because I haven’t made any hats in over a year. It also helps because your hands hold the yarn exactly as my does. Thank You.
Thank you!! You are an amazing teacher, I m notorious for skipping and adding stitches so it’s a life saver for me that you tell us how many stitches we need to have at the end of each row, and the reverse stitch is new to me I like it! Thank you my hat came out perfect!!
I made my first hat today with this tutorial!! Thank you!!! I've been wanting to learn, but was scared it was too hard. Thanks to you, now I can do it!!!
I love your tutorials! You explain it so well & i love how you spread the yarn & show right where the hook goes..It helps newbies so much.
I found blue yarn on clearance at Michael’s. This looks like the perfect pattern for hatnothate use of the yarn. Thank you.
I just made this and it's gorgeous. Really easy to follow. I found out on row 7 I was using a smaller hook! LOL but no worries just had to crochet a few more rows to make it longer. Love the pattern thanks Crystal 💖!
Dear Crystal, I really appreciate the close ups you provide and for working through your struggles for us to see. It makes the process 'real' and relatable.
I absolutely love this tutorial. I made 2 of this hat so far ☺️
Very well explained and not confusing like many other videos I’ve watched. The ch 1 at the start of the row helps, rather than ch 2. Also very clear photography. I’m now onto row 8 and excited to see how this turns out. Thanks so much!
I've just made my first beanie in my life 🤘!!!!!!! Yasssssssss🤩
Just finished 10 of these to be given to the homeless next winter.....and I'm not stopping now😁. I've made some with stripes and all with pompoms.
Love this beanie, I've made about 10 of them now. If I wanted to make it for a smaller head, what's the best way to do that. I was thinking stop at 48 stitches instead of 60, but I'm not sure if that is right.
I was wondering same. I guess I'll find out.
I can't thank you enough Crystal, I am so pleased with myself! I am making hats for the colder months for the people I serve, as a front-line support worker. The people I serve are having a rough time & I have always wanted to do this;..I am so excited (:
this is the first hat tutorial i could actually follow, so thank you!
I keep forgetting how many stitches to put in so I keep watching your video as a refresher.
I like it because I AM a beginner, and you don't take forever telling us how to make it. You are clear and not confusing at all, which is a huge plus for me. So far, I've had great success with lapghans & afghans, but now I need to make something else and this is perfect! Thanks!! 🎶🧶🎉
I'm an intermediate crocheter!!! I'm familiar with the reverse single crochet stitch!!! ❤😃👍
I’m a beginner - your tutorial was very easy to follow and has boosted my confidence so much! Thank you 😊
Just finished this one. It turned out real nice. I even mastered the trim. Thank You!
I was watching this Beanie hat from the time I started practicing Beanie hats for babies. I finally got to look at the video and I found it to be so explanatory. I needed to have patience and it is fun to crochet. I only have trouble with the basic such as starting with the circle of 4 stitches and a slip knot. Once I conquer this circle I'll be on my way to crocheting this Beanie hat that I like so much. I hope I get the same color and Alize yarn. Thank u for your time and teaching.
I just finished making my first hat using this tutorial!! Thank you so much! This was very easy to follow!
Thank u crystal I love ur hats I'm making this for one of my residents,I'm a CNA at a nursing home & I have a lady who had brain surgery & they removed half of her skull but everything we put on won't stay so my admin asked if I would make her a hat. Thanks to u I've made lots of them hats. Ur awesome
Such a beautiful hat and I love the ombre yarn, I think it makes it more interesting when crocheting
Omg! Thank so much 1st video i could follow and acually get results. I even got the reverse stitch. Took a few tries. For folks having problems make sure that your hook points down into the stitch. When you pull through and complete the single stitch it will create the loop stitch as in the video. If not you end up with like a normal looking stitch. Hopes that help any one else who got stuck.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Really easy to follow for an absolute beginner. I have a loved one going through chemo and losing their hair. I've already made them one hat and I'll finish another tomorrow. Thanks again for this really excellent video.
Thanks for this,
I am a male into Civil Engineering and never done any kind of crochet work in my earlier life..
But for the first time I have reached by chrochet from chain to first circle chrochet from your video.....
Felling blessed.. God bless you for this work.
I am from.India.....❤
I could finally make the full hat as per your instruction. Off course with few mistakes . But it has come out great and I am feeling proud of myself only because of you. May God bring in more happiness chains in your life. You made me happy. Thanks again.
I challenged myself too make a beenie, well thanks to you I did it, started like at 12:00-2:00 am I’m so proud of me again thank you for easy to follow video, will be making another one soon
I made a hat watching your video! Woohoo! I have wanted to learn how to do this so I could make hats and give them to the homeless. There's a senior lady who used to do this where I live in the mountains but I don't know if she's even still alive so I'm picking up the task of doing it. Thank you for such an easy video to follow.
Thank you for this amazing pattern! As a beginner crocheter, I found your instructions very helpful. I did my first beanie and fits perfectly! I did use a #5 yarn and 6.5 mm hook but stopped increasing at 48 stitches ans finished as instructed. Love the finishing border too. I will be making more. ❤
Got a wild hair to learn to crochet today. Now I'm halfway through a hat! I had to stop and undo and redo some things, but the progress is progressing! This is a great tutorial.
Thank you! ❤️ you got this!
This is a great video am 31 years old male and am tryin to make a beanie for my family and and my future girlfriend. After some crochet gloves as well am having some trouble, but I’ll try to learn how to do this. I already made a scarf; it’s just that am a left-handed crochet maker and I have more to learn so thank you for this video much appreciated.
I kinda struggled at first as I am very new to croched, but once I figured out the stitch, it was so easy. I actually used a 4.5 hook and a thinner yarn but still love it.
Idk what it is about the way you demonstrated this, but it was so easy for me to follow! Thank you!
I love this pattern! I used it last year to make two beanies. Thank you so much for the tutorial, your instructions are always super clear and easy to follow!
I did this a crochet a long to see if I could use this pattern. At first, it seems difficult, but I was able to do it easily. I want to do some hats for charity; this will be one of the patterns I'll use.
Just tried your tutorial and I made it a couple of rows longer, more like a 1920s cloche hat and it looks fab, thanks so much
Thank you very much for this easy tutorial,Im 42 and first time in crocheting, and I made this beanie and it turns out great. It's a little small for my head though lol so Im gonna give it to my grandson.
Hi Crystal, just looking for a cap as I've just been diagnosed with cancer. This looks perfect! Thanks 😊 🫂 🙏
Thank you Crystal, this is the first beanie I have ever made for myself and I love it. 💜😀
did anyone else’s turn out really big ? 😅 i followed it step by step i swear 😢
Yea me too and im so confused on why its HUGE
Same. Make sure to count your stitches
Beautiful hat and easy to. Gonna make some for Hat Not Hate. You are such a good teacher Crystal. Thank you for all that you do for us. God Bless Y'all.
I like it! Perfect simple hat! Now to ask my walmart to get some ombre yarn! Thanks Crystal!
Using this pattern for my HatNotHate hats. Thank you Crystal, for all you do ❤️🧡💛💚🤎🤍🖤💜💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Amazing video I did more then 13 rounds but that’s because I’m using a smaller hook and yarn and it was perfect for the base of my wig I’m making
I just want you to know that this is the most easiest tutorial and you were taking your time which helped me out a lot I will be watching your tutorials I want to thank you
This is the best hat Tutorial ever!!! A lot of other people I find confusing and I makes no sense and they go to fast, this was great!! I’m making a beanie for my friends birthday, thank you!!!!
Thank you 😊
I loved this hat. It was easy to make and I could shorten it for me . I have a very small head and usually can't buy a beanie that fits. Thus one is great!! I made me 2 already. I'm ready to try another color.
You make this look so easy & you took your time explaining & visually showing so thank you. I saw another video where she was explaining but visually she was going too fast & I was getting frustrated lol. You were awesome
tried this as a beginner for the first time and I must say it was super easy
I love this beanie and have done many different colors, especially love the twist stitch, I use it regularly.. Can't thank you enough for.the time you spend on these great tutorials. You are wonderful and very appreciated.😊Brenda
Thank you for such a wonderful and quick way of making this beanie. I tried crocheting 🧶 mine with a J - 6 hook and the stitches were just too loose, your looks nice and tight.
I have really been enjoying your hat tutorials Crystal! I've been doing the top down ones as neither my hubby nor myself like the "pucker" at the top. These are amazing! Thank you!
Crystal, I saw this video and was going to purchase the pattern but I first checked the Jump Drive I bought from you and the pattern was on the drive. Yahoo, I never made a hat yet, kinda new but I've made throw blankets and scarves, one with pockets.
“I can’t do much with my left hand” 😆 that’s how I feel about my right hand. I’m left handed. Still able to follow most of your tutorials though. Thank you.
This looks easy to do. Love the Ombré color. Found this video after watching your 20 Favorite hats/beanies video.
The first project I've attempted that wasn't a square or rectangle 😅 I did this on and off in an afternoon, and loved it! I'm about to go make about 50 more in various yarns, thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
@@BAGODAYCROCHET I may or may not have also been still awake at gone 2am starting another one 😅. I hope you're well and you have a great day 🍀
New to crochet! I’ve don’t a lot of practice squares and a couple of scrunchis for my hair. I was going to try a baby blanket first but I think I am going to try this beanie!
Just finished my hat today...this video explained everything perfectly...🎩🎩🎩
Made this beanie for the "Hat Not Hate." Ty it was pretty easy with your great tutorial esp since this is my first hat I've made.
TY Crystal I was bullied when younger. Got some clearance yarn at hobby lobby and got j hook ready to go with my hat not hate hats
I just started to learn crochet last week. I have just completed this pattern. I an delighted with it, especially the tension on the stitches, i seem to have got them just right. It looks very much like the hat in the video but the fit is very wide, i cant see any one having a head big enough to fit it. You used a 6mm hook which i don't have so i used a 5. I am presuming that this is the reason that my hat is off regards size. I don't fully understand understand yet about the hook sizes. I am delighted with the video because i was able to finish the hat and it does look good even though i have somehow managed to get the size wrong..
Just finished this beanie! Thank you for a simple easy to be successful with pattern!
Love how quick and easy this one is for charity hats. Thanks!
I just finished this beanie, I used my lighted crochet hooks it came out ok, but just a little big around my head. I’ll try again.
Hi Crystal! Thank you for making this tutorial so quickly. Love it.
Absolutely love this hat💙🩵 Thank you Crystal and God Bless Always and your family 🙏🏽
I had given up on making hats until I came across this video. The explanation, the camera view and everything makes this the possible for all of us. I have made 4 hats since. Thank you so much, you’re the best!!!
Thank you 😊
Love your pattern. It's just a little different than the one I've been doing for, literally, years. God bless y'all. So thankful I subscribed on Monday.
Hello.... Thank you for such an easy pattern. I never wear beanies... I tried in the past to make them, but weren't nice.. lol. But this is such an easy one to make . Thank you again. 🤗
Hello! I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed this video and I made this beanie for my husband. He loved it. You made this very easy for me to follow. Thank you! 7/28/2024
Thank you for this tutorial. It was easy to follow and quick, just like you said. I will definitely make this again.👍
in texas during the snowstorm, my sister didnt have a hat to layer with and we cant get out to a store so i was able to make this for her in 4hrs, though i did have to make it 17rows to have it cover her ears, probably using the wrong size yarn, also first time doing a rsc and it was so cute!
Thank you so much for a great tutorial, I love watching your videos, you explain everything so clear and as I'm disabled something are difficult to sink in my head but, yours are great.
Ive got 2 little girls that live next door! Great idea Crystal- thanks!
Love this color. Great for that HatnotHate movement. ❤🧶
Great video, I appreciate your detail and pace! I watched your video 2 years ago when I started crochet and now I’ve come back to make more. thanks for sharing 🖤

These instructions are so, so clear. Thank you so much!
Very nice instructional video. Easy to follow clear instructions, and the color of the yarn made it even easier. Thank you!
