Nintendo is trying to make a theme park in Japan. Well fuck that, they should instead somehow buy an island, and make a real life version of Wuhu island.
In case anyone didn't already know how good the Wii Motion Plus actually is, I'll explain. Remember how at launch, Nintendo talked about the Wii Remote's capabilities as if it could accurately sense the Wii Remote's position and orientation in space, providing almost 1:1 motion gestures that felt responsive? Well, the OG Wiimote by itself couldn't actually do that. All it actually had inside of it was (albeit more complicated and technically capable versions of) an accelerometer and an IR Sensor. This is why so many Wii games required the remote to be visible by the sensor at all times. The accelerometer mostly took care of the gestures, but it couldn't really sense orientation and it didn't have the greatest perspective. This is why the sensor was necessary. Most of the system utilized clever programming to make it look more capable than it was. The Wii Motion Plus basically added all the things Nintendo said it could do at launch, by adding a better accelerometer, a tilt sensor, and most importantly, a gyroscope. With the Wii Motion Plus (which effectively allowed the Wiimote to better track where it is in space and what's happening to it, allowing it to track gestures better), the Wii Remote was now capable of providing a "true" motion experience. In case you don't know how most Wii games were programmed, the reason why the Motion Plus enabled so much was because it enabled games to look for and utilize true gesture support. Most Wii games that don't require the Motion Plus effectively use gestures as a fancy way to trigger a "button press" action. "When the Wii Remote is quickly shoved to the left, swing sword to the left and trigger "sword swing left" animation". But with the Wii Motion Plus, the system could actually utilize the real-time orientation and positioning data the Wii Remote was giving, allowing it to more "realistically" represent your movements. This is how your sword is able to move as you move the Wiimote in the Swordfighting minigame of Wii Sports Resort. For anyone that uses Dolphin, this is the reason why Dolphin only got Motion Plus emulation to work in 2019, almost 15 years after it initially launched. Because Wii Motion plus required a system capable not only of emulating the simple gestures, but also emulating a real wii remote (in an almost metaphysical sense) and providing data to the game on where that metaphysical, emulated wiimote is in the emulated, metaphysical space that it's occupying.
I feel like people don’t talk about this game, and it’s constantly overshadowed by the original, which I don’t get. It has many games from the og and far more variety.

Oh man SAME, I used to hijack my family's Wii to just play the biking game for like an hour at a time and see how many different locations I could make it to. When he mentioned how biking should have you move your feet instead of your hands that was the first thing I thought of
I always went to my cousins house and we would play Dogfight all the time. We would never attack each other, just explore, especially the volcano, and the cave that almost goes underwater, and it was so fun. And then it broke. I was so sad, and I had to resort (haha, get it?) to Wii Sports. A while after, we stopped visiting their house because of an argument our parents had. I still tear up when I hear the music.
The Lone Pencil damn that’s sad. I lost the wii sports disc a few years ago and only have wii sports resort now. I’m gonna try to order a new copy soon

I then extracted the iso for both of them after getting Resort and now I also have them both on Dolphin!
I've never heard of "Proofesure", but I agree in that the Wii Motion Plus is anything but "responsive" and "reliable". And Swordplay being the _most_ responsive and reliable game? Yeah, no, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

The multiplayer was something me and my friends would play all the time. It was one of the best party games the wii had in my opinion. It was better than Mario Party 9 at least.
There are 80. It took me like 6 years to get all the points. And when you get the last one, all hou get is a stupid house on a private island with a flag of your mii on it...
The multiplayer in this game is freaking amazing. If you want a party game with your family everyone can enjoy and be equally good at in any skill level, this is the best one in every possible way
Dogfight was fun the few times I did it, but I always played against my sister who I dominated against like it was the Philippine Sea and we stopped playing because I just kept winning.

Flying the plane around was probably the best part of this game. I remember spending hours just cruising along and trying to see what new places I could explore with the plane. Such great memories.
I’m so happy I’m rebuying a wii console with wii sports and resort, I remember all the great memories I made as a kid playing my parents in bowling and golf. I should’ve never sold mine in the beginning but getting a new one is going to be awesome
I want to play these games again so bad. I sold the OG Wii sports but I still have wii sports resort. My sensor bar broke a few months ago so I can’t play them now.

Fun fact: The practice mode for Power Cruising is actually an on-water open world where you can freely explore the island and find bonuses that extend your time. It's my favorite part of Resort other than Island Flyover
My brother and I love this game, we still bust it out every once in a while. I remember coming home from school and taking turns playing island flyover. The insanely free feeling of exploring the island was so breathtaking for us elementary school kids. We would have competitions to see who could collect the most i points or try and fly off the main islands to reach the faraway ones in the distance. This game holds so many memories for me. Thanks for this video ❤️
I mean yeah, at some point getting blocked once and going into that "tripping/wobbling" state can almost be losing, or at least cost you one heart for the showdowns. But if you only check it out quickly I can understand that you wouldn't grind it to the stages where enemies start blocking seriously. Or potentially even more important, where they actually start utilizing the window for counter-attacks that a successful block opens up

If you keep playing practice in the “canoeing” mode, there are around ~10-15 ducklings (haven’t played in forever so I forgot the exact amount) wandering around the lake, and if you get close enough to one of them, they’ll start to follow your canoe and you can take them back to their mother, who is also in the lake. I always thought a neat idea when I was a kid for a third series in the game was "Wii Sport Snow Resort" that would take place in a completely different place in the Nintendo universe and incorporated the Wii Fit Game Pad. I know Wii Fit had a bunch of snow themed levels in it already but I couldn't help but imagine having an entire snow related video game.
Honestly I grew up with this game. I had a wii at home and my gran had one as well and me and my cousins played it all the time. Even my gran loved it and she would play with us. I remember obliterating them in sword fight and us all being annoyed at my brother for playing island flyover because it was one player. I miss that game
Listening to a new player talking about the game feels weird. Everybody I ever heard talking about it had some experience, but the fact you liked a 13 year old game based on motion controls and cartoony avatars just shows off how good it truly is. One of of the best Wii games.
@@NotLonelySheep I had the same situation for a while, there was one point left that I could never find for a long time. But I just found it by following Miguel.
In 100 pin bowling, bowl the ball along the rail on the side of the lane and if you get the ball to roll all the way along the rail to the back, the lane will shake and always give an automatic strike.
I played this game with my brothers back in the day. Absolutely one of my favorite games ever. My favorites were swordfighting and the flying. That was some amazingly spent time
Me and my friends still play this. I invite them every week. I go to their house or they come to my house with THEIR Wiimotes motion plus. Their own characters import
I played this all the time as a young child! It was one of the only games we had on the Wii. We got a disc with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort on it, and it came with our console. Once, I got a strike on the 100-pin bowling. I was so excited, I went and told my mom about it. I also loved throwing the ball backwards. It was hilarious. Dogfight was VERY fun. I didn't get to play it that often, though, since my brother didn't want to lose against me.
The dogfight multiplayer is like Island Flyover, but you keep popping your opponent’s balloons. There’s something so satisfying about winning a Dogfight battle in Wii Sports Resort!
This is one of my first games, and I would be playing with my dad, and he loved it because it was crossing sports, something he understood and video games, making this game so much fun. I remember playing the swordplay game with him, and it was great! We would also do the cycling game together, which was fun. I would also get my butt handed to me during the archery game. The theme song is so nostalgic.
My cousin and I LOVED to play the thing with the plane, we always tried to fly up the vulcano to try and fly into the vulcano, it was so much fun and it really feels like childhood! 😍😍😍
I loved archery the most, it was just so relaxing even though it was the same thing over and over again. Cycling was great too, I remember trying to win so many times!
Little tip for 100-Pin mode. If you can balance the ball on either of the barriers, all the way behind the pins, there is a red button that summons an earthquake, knocking down all pins :)

I know Wii Fit had a bunch of snow themed levels in it already but I couldn't help but imagine having an entire snow related video game.
2:25 one thing that could help that helped me is that you want to have the board angled slightly up.
15000 words for new super Mario bros
That takes effort to make it without repetition
I congratulate you Silok
I'd always want to play dogfight with my sisters, but they never wanted to because I'd always win xD
I played Wii sports resort whenever I went to see my grandmother. Playing it with my cousins was honestly some of the most fun I've had.
everytime a relative comes to my house, there's wii sports resort to be played (golf and table tennis return challenge are the favorites)
You forgot to mention the hidden Easter egg in every level of archery, being, the hidden foods far back in each level
my guess is that he just didn't know about them. they ARE secrets after all.
Honestly I grew up with this game. I had a wii at home and my gran had one as well and me and my cousins played it all the time. Even my gran loved it and she would play with us. I remember obliterating them in sword fight and us all being annoyed at my brother for playing island flyover because it was one player. I miss that game
Playing the sword duel with a sibling was peak entertainment
oh my gosh yes! I would always DESTROY my older brother but he would turn off the console before I got the level ups. :{
Resort's multiplayer is outstanding. Game came out a decade ago, I still have so much fun playing it with friends.
Listening to a new player talking about the game feels weird. Everybody I ever heard talking about it had some experience, but the fact you liked a 13 year old game based on motion controls and cartoony avatars just shows off how good it truly is. One of of the best Wii games.
I have had Wii Sports Resort for years and it has never stopped being fun. It's just great
I've had the game for more than ten years now, and just yesterday my brother finally 100% island flyover. all stamps, I points, and balloons.
I still need one more though I can't find it. Do you think you could give me a list of the I points you or your brother found?
@@NotLonelySheep I had the same situation for a while, there was one point left that I could never find for a long time. But I just found it by following Miguel.
@@bluemath5 Ah. Thank you!
Love your videos just found your channel a few days ago and have watching video solely since
When me and my family first got a Wii, this was the game we got with it, and I remember looking forward to playing this with my family daily.
Fun fact: Island Flyover was actually expanded upon on the 3DS with Pilotwings Resort. It's basically the same thing, but with a LOT more content.
"in island flyover you get to fly over the island in a biplane"
everyone seeing that the plane has one wing: *facepalms very **_very_** hard*
You could play with a biplane though. =P
i mean, the biplane is unlockable, but at the same time yes
Plane Flying, Tabletennis and Sword fight was the best
"the dog is really smart"
my dog running FROM the frisbee: are you sure about that?
Dog fight was the best thing in that game it's so addicting and competitive and there's neat little Easter eggs
In 100 pin bowling, bowl the ball along the rail on the side of the lane and if you get the ball to roll all the way along the rail to the back, the lane will shake and always give an automatic strike.
We have this game at the care home I work in, always a blast to play.
Totally missed the hidden targets aspect of archery that made it so special and difficult
Basketball is the best once you get a feel for it. Tied with table tennis I say
Just wanna say thank you for making these kind of videos, makes me remember my childhood and how things used to be so much better
I played this game with my brothers back in the day. Absolutely one of my favorite games ever. My favorites were swordfighting and the flying. That was some amazingly spent time
Imagine how many points you whould have got if he used toad wii remote with wii motion plus inside
And he didn’t realize that sword play eventually says no to that strategy... 1:25
Me and my friends still play this. I invite them every week. I go to their house or they come to my house with THEIR Wiimotes motion plus. Their own characters import
That's fucking wholesome
your friends are amazing
It still works for you??? Are you playing on an old Wii or Wii U????
In 100 pin bowling try to make the ball roll on the walls at the sides witout falling until it reaches the end, trust me
You are going to need to do that for a stamp anyway.
"You know we're including golf now."
"$#%!"

Dude it’s the internet say shit or fuck
I thought he was f***
i played with my dad and i swear on my blankets, multiplayer is lit.
You have brought back so many memories, especially with the skydiving. 🤣
I'm missing one of those things in island flyover and it's been almost 7 years
Look it up
Its probably the solo canoeist which is hidden in the sea under the big yellow balloon. No idea why that one was so cryptic to find
My cousin and I LOVED to play the thing with the plane, we always tried to fly up the vulcano to try and fly into the vulcano, it was so much fun and it really feels like childhood! 😍😍😍
Vulcano, huh?
Who wishes this game and wii sports would get ported to the switch
Meeeee
I loved archery the most, it was just so relaxing even though it was the same thing over and over again. Cycling was great too, I remember trying to win so many times!
Little tip for 100-Pin mode. If you can balance the ball on either of the barriers, all the way behind the pins, there is a red button that summons an earthquake, knocking down all pins :)
Every time I have friends over we play wii sports resort.
2009: Wiisport yeaa fun!
nobody
2019: Lets showcase Wiisports!
Meme Police that its very late to revieuw this game. Sorry if you don't understand it but my english is nog so good.
Meme Police I don't now why you need to use fuck in yout sentence.
Am i the only one who kinda remembers that you could hit hidden cupcakes in the arrow game for extra points?
Yeah it was fruit and a score board for some reason
They were different fruits (with the exception of the volcano level) and you needed to hit all of them for a stamp.
@@ResidentNintendoNerd aaah thx man
@@TheBlackAbyss1 a score board? 😂
@@lucky-lu6tc No prob
I still remeber booting the game as a kid and skydiving down to Wuhu Island for the first time...
I absolutely fell in love with the game at that moment and I spent years on Wuhu Island afterwards.
Bro if someone said to me, "Hey, want to come over and play Wii sports resort?" I'd be like FUCK YES.
