That's it! We've reached the end of our journey, and I want to thank you for following this series!
I'd like to point out that this is actually proven wrong within the video. Nabbit is present in most of the footage and not once does the timer start at 200.
Here's a fun fact: On the Wii U version, in single player, if you hold ZL and ZR before entering a level, you can play as Nabbit. What's better is that if you do this on the final level, you get to play as your Mii character
Is there a way to do this on a Wii remote I remember playing as nabbit when playing on a Wii remote randomly it scared the crap out of me and I jumped of a cliff
And the fact of the matter is that this was created during the year of Luigi which was Nintendo's worst year in terms of game selling and production but yet this was still a under minded goddamn master piece a lot of people didn't try just because of the fact that it was "another New Super" game.
I hated it but because I think NSMB is oversaturated. It’s still probably the best but I can’t believe I threw 60$ at it. It’s literally NSMB wii/Ds but u can play as luigi. It’s nothing new. But that can be said for every NSMB game released after wii. The last one I actually enjoyed was nsmb2 but I think it sucks

I've always thought that Luigi U was a relatively popular game... Well, the game came with my Wii U. Personally, the original DS title will always be my favorite. It was the game that introduced me into Nintendo, Mario and games in general. It's also the most unique one (art direction, world structure and the general felling of it). Anyways, Luigi U comes in a close second place. It basically has everything that I've enjoyed about NSMBU, but with cool new mechanics and challenges.
To me, it seems like they managed with this game what the talented part of the Mario Maker community has been doing these years: create tight level designs based on original ideas. That's what the 2D mario series should always strive for, make your levels memorable through creative solutions, fun platforming, good theming, appropriate time limit etc. If Nintendo ever decides to make a new 2D Mario game themselves, they should keep this in mind and add to the mix new assets, because, sadly, that's the only element that the Mario Maker community can't do themselves if they don't modify the game itself.
Ok, I just remembered a story that happened to me when I must’ve been around 8. I had just completed NSMB Ds, and to celebrate, I wanted to copy my file over another one, as a backup. Long story short, I ended up copying a file that wasn’t very far in the game over my completed one, because I didn’t understand English very well back then lmao. But then I was just like... oh well, gotta do it again I guess. And that’s how I completed NSMB twice in a couple weeks.
The Diddy Kong Racing music really felt fitting for this game since this game is basically a race through levels. Plus, DKR music is just great in general
This was really eye opening. I never had a Wii U, but I remember seeing Luigi U at a walmart and just shaking my head in disgust at yet another 2d new super mario bros platformer, during a time when the genre felt oversaturated. Now you've got me wanting to pick up NSMBU on switch to experience Luigi U. It looks awesome, and I cannot believe that I want to play this game. Great video!
9:36 Actually, there’s a subtle hint that there’s something there. There’s no fossils in that mass of ground like there is with the rest of the level’s ground.
Luigi is my favorite character in video games in general and I love difficult platform games, the truth is that I and everyone have judged the DLC so much.
2:59 "But the second biggest change:" *Timer ≥ 100 jingle plays* "You'll be hearing _that_ through each and every level of your adventure. At the start of a level, you are given EXACTLY 100 seconds to reach the flagpole." I loved this part
Just posting my thoughts on the NSMB games that I've played: New Soup Wii was the first video game I ever played as a kid and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I genuinely enjoyed every level ( even the dark levels) and I 100% the game with my friends. I even played this game with my grandmother when she was 70 or so and we got to world 3 in an afternoon. I have such great memories associated with it and still go back to see the letter Nintendo put on my wii message board when I 100% the game in 2011. Not long after playing New Soup Wii my parents got me a DSi with New Soup DS. I thoroughly enjoyed this game too, but I was left disappointed by not being able to play through the game with my friends; however I played a lot of star collector with them. Being able to buy backgrounds with the star coins too was a nice touch that I enjoyed and motivated me to 100% the game. I also learned how to play poker from luigi in this game so that's pretty cool. Next I played New Soup 2. I never collected 1 million coins sadly but I got around 600k. Despite that shortcoming, NSMB2 is my favorite New Soup game that I've played. I loved the level designs, the Mario 3-esque editions (especially the super leaf as I hadn't played Mario 3 at this point in time), and the additional worlds. The second Bowser fight where he is Dry Bowser was somehow even more fun than the first even though it is practically the same fight. Overall I just love the game. After this I played New Soup Wii U and to be frank, I don't remember any of it. I had a friend come over once and we decided to try and 100% it as it was something to do, and soon realized that we already had. It was that forgettable. I wish I had bought New Soup Luigi U at the time, but I honestly thought it was the exact same game as Mario Wii U but with the characters changed. It wasn't until I watched this video that I realized it's entirely different.
The first game will always be my favorite. I remember almost every level and they had really interesting ideas. The star coins are implemented greatly and the music is pretty catchy. I love the bosses, the mini games, and the versus mode. Still the most fun one for me to look back on.
Honestly, I like nsmb2 the most, because of being the 2 most unique with the coins and themes, being the easiest (I kinda suck at games)... and I grew up with it...
It's slowly becoming my favorite too especially for speedrunning. Currently I'm doing an All Castles Run with Nabbit, but will soon work my way up to Toadette and Luigi. Another reason is since there's a short timer, the courses are very short to get through as well.
tbh i’ve played every single new super mario game around the release of each one throughout my life, and i love every single one plainly because of nostalgia

Enjoyed all these videos, however I did groan when I saw the last vid popup and waited about 2 or whatever weeks before watching. Having said that, I now actually regret selling off Mario Bros Switch (which included this game), without even trying Luigi. I started up the main game, which I loved the first time round but, honestly, after several attempts I couldnt even to the end of the second zone without turning the game off out of sheer boredom. Wii U and 3DS are the only ones I have played. Maybe a tad bit of the Wii on, maybe 2 levels only. 3DS was my fav of them. But, yeah, never been a major fan of 2D Mario anyway (always favoured Sonic and, later, Klonoa). Thanks again for the videos. I watched them all and look forward to whatever you do next.
I put this game and DS together as the being equally amazing games. NSMB on the DS was filled with great memorable moments, the next 3 games felt kind of the same except prettier but watered down. Luigi U actually builds on the concept.
I grew up during the time of the Wii/3DS era. NSMB.DS is my favorite one because it was an introduction to me for the Super Mario genre and gaming as a whole. Later on, I played Mario kart Wii, NSMB. Wii, Mario party 8, Super Paper Mario, and Mario and Luigi Dream Team, and Super Mario 3D land. In my childhood, I was really excited to play any/all of them (mostly SPM) I made a few presentations on that one. I loved how they were an introduction for the spinoff games that I love so much. This was a core part of my life. I recently got NSMB.U/3D world and I can't wait to try them out.
This game has a much better flow than other games because of the time. You know you have to get to the flag quickly and you are just following the coins and it makes so much fun to follow the flow.
I still remember the day that we got this game in the physical version. I, at the time had loved the Wii-u and thought it to be my favorite Nintendo console. so when my dad came home with this thing, I was incredibly happy for a new game to be released. Then I found out that Sony and Xbox existed. that Wii-u has been tossed around the house like a baseball in a game. now its just a glorified Mario kart 8 player that is still hooked up.
Hi Silo, I just discovered you via Recommendations. I'm not a fan of Mario games due to their simplicity, but this Luigi game sounds right up my alley. Thanks for making this video.
"In other games this wasn't a factor because you weren't always crunching for time" *Me, almost all of the time in NSMBU:* Oh no I only have 100 seconds left! AND WHERE IS THE FIRST STAR COIN!!
In the future i would want something more like tropical freeze, with unique enemies, amzing level design, incredible attention to detail and completely different ideas for every level.
after playing through all of them, albeit the Switch port of U and Luigi U, I'd say either Wii or Luigi U, partially due to nostalgia on the Wii front. Both my brother and I played those two the most together and I'd say the multiplayer emphasis on Wii and the difficulty emphasis on Luigi U is the reason that I love these games the most.
It was fun to hear your opinion on the “super Mario Nintendo cease making these games” series and I will try out nslu, as when it came out I didn’t bother to buy it. Thanks for the retrospective on this series
I honestly love the multiplayer interaction; I just grab 3 friends and 'speed run' the levels whilst killing each other and it's the most fun I've had with the games
I enjoy all the NSMB games I've played...so this excites me as I haven't played it yet. It's sitting there on my Wii U just waiting for me. I'll see you soon Luigi!
Im happy you mentioned NSMB2. I really enjoyed this one, completed it a countles number of times. I love how its pure platforming, with a great level design and a reasonable level of difficulty. I guess Im just more of a 2D platformers type of guy, and NSMB2 just worked for me. the sales and reviews dont matter to me as long as I had fun - personal experience is the key here. great video!

I dont know how many times I've watched these videos but I dont care this shit is the most entertaining I've ever seen it's insane
I grew up playing super mario bros wii from 5 yrs old and i would not forget the moments i played with my family (mostly with my sister)
Hi Silo, I just discovered you via Recommendations.
I'm not a fan of Mario games due to their simplicity, but this Luigi game sounds right up my alley. Thanks for making this video.
I enjoyed these videos so much, congratulations for them, hope you keep producing content as god as you have been producing now
I always thought mario went to use the bathroom and left his hat to save his spot
Great Job on this Video!
If you play as nabbit and rapidly crouch you can shift your hit box and preform an advanced glitch called “crouch canceling”
Ah yes, a man of culture
"In other games this wasn't a factor because you weren't always crunching for time"
*Me, almost all of the time in NSMBU:* Oh no I only have 100 seconds left! AND WHERE IS THE FIRST STAR COIN!!
Best **Mario** game is about **Luigi** ?
It’s confirmed, Luigi Number One
In the future i would want something more like tropical freeze, with unique enemies, amzing level design, incredible attention to detail and completely different ideas for every level.
1. Luigi
2. it’s like, the only
one with a personality
3. Luigi
after playing through all of them, albeit the Switch port of U and Luigi U, I'd say either Wii or Luigi U, partially due to nostalgia on the Wii front. Both my brother and I played those two the most together and I'd say the multiplayer emphasis on Wii and the difficulty emphasis on Luigi U is the reason that I love these games the most.
This was a great video, glad I found your channel
I’ve been waiting for this
It was fun to hear your opinion on the “super Mario Nintendo cease making these games” series and I will try out nslu, as when it came out I didn’t bother to buy it. Thanks for the retrospective on this series
I honestly love the multiplayer interaction; I just grab 3 friends and 'speed run' the levels whilst killing each other and it's the most fun I've had with the games
finally a person who said i like new super mario bros 2 i thought i was the only one
I'm so glad they included this in the switch port no extra charge
Mario VS Luigi mode was the best thing ever, and no one can change my mind. Dear god I wish mario party had a mini game like that
I enjoy all the NSMB games I've played...so this excites me as I haven't played it yet. It's sitting there on my Wii U just waiting for me. I'll see you soon Luigi!
Yeh man, nsmb wii is still my favorite just for the multi-player, that shit chaos but atleast it mixes stuff around
The best NSMB game:
friendship.
Don't Worry Man, Nathanial Bandy Agrees
Im happy you mentioned NSMB2. I really enjoyed this one, completed it a countles number of times. I love how its pure platforming, with a great level design and a reasonable level of difficulty. I guess Im just more of a 2D platformers type of guy, and NSMB2 just worked for me. the sales and reviews dont matter to me as long as I had fun - personal experience is the key here. great video!
the Commandment is actually “Thou shalt not kill” but murder is close enough, good job bro
