Joe Frazier was the cleanest fighter that obeyed all the rules In the clinch and never held ,always punching it out, even when he was being held by Ali or even pushed by foreman,Frazier never resorted to anything but punching, simply amazing fighter; it would've been great to see a Marciano and Frazier fight if there was a time machine.
Tell me a boxer from 2000 onwards that would take 1 of those shots from Foreman go down then get up and fight like he never went down. The man is a legend and absolutely top 10 material.
@@maxtomlinson8134 LMFAO, no mate. I believe Fury to be the best of this era but that isn't saying much. I expect you are tryingto compare the knockdown by Wilder. It wasn'teven remotely close. Wilder was exhauste. The shot didn't land flush and the technique of Wilder is "questionable" at best. As amazing it was for Fury to get up from that, it wasn't the same league as the beating Forman gave Frazier. Fury wouldn't be even remotely capable at surviving a Forman 2 tap. Something hewas renowned for. Frazier had the will of a god. He legitimately nearly died because of it. Sometimes the body just says no. But in the case with Ali he forced his already shut down body to move. 1 more round would likely have killed him. That is just how strong his will was. It's so rare and difficult to posses such a feat that unless you see it to such an extreme you wouldnt believe it exists. Tyson just isn't on that level.

Can you imagine prime Frazier vs prime Holyfield? What a war it would’ve been, it would be similar to the Quawi/Holyfield fight but Joe bigger n stronger with more steam on that left 🪝 hook!!
Yes, but wins against a load of mediocre opponents. His much vaunted hook could only knock out seven, the other wins being stoppages or points decisions. Couldn't stop Bonavena, and was within a whisker of losing to him, never faced Terrell, Spencer, Martin or Liston and wouldn't enter the WBA elimination tournament. Not the best by a long chalk.
@@paulweir5031 Well, I checked three different websites for greatest heavyweight champions, and all three had Joe Frazier top ten. That's no coincidence. Like the saying goes, opinions are like ayholes. Everyone's got one.
@@jogman262 Being in the top ten doesn't say much, everyone has their opinion, the lists are subjective. What isn't subjective is the plain fact that he could not knock out any more than seven opponents; and when I say knock out that is what I mean, not stoppages or opponent unable to continue.

What was Frazier's strategy? I am going to take as many punches as possible and still go in for more. His only dodge was bobbing up and down. Once the opponent got the rhythm all they had to do was time their shots to his head. He always kept his head out there as bait for his flying left hook. But it got old.
Taking nothing away from Frazier who had an incredible left hook, brilliant pressing attack and great bob-and-weave defense. However, if Foreman hadn't demolished him, I def. believe Shavers or Lyle would have. One or all of those three hardest hitting punchers, IMHO, would have destroyed him.
There is a different between fighting 12 rounds compared to 15 rounds.
