YO! sliders I have been told react in the variator like you have up to a half G or so lighter then rollers. I put 5g sliders in my wifes jazz and it just reved to high hell and got no where. 6g or heavier helped a ton. sloggy as shit take off but could get to almost 70km an hour. Rucks and jazz both have rev limiters on them right? I know many people take the gears out of jazz/metropolitan for higher top speed in the ruckus. Stock ruckus motors are really limited in the speed they produce so 47 on a ruck is pretty damn good.

I just bought a brand new 2017 left over. Just broke it in and I'm getting 43mph easy. I guess they're all slightly different in top speed. Of course i know riders weight plays a big part of it.

Your rollers will flat spot with use and lower your top speed

I’m not sure I understand something. If you are running half of them at 4.5 and half of them at 5.5, why not just run them all at 5?

I have a 2016. Installed CDI, Polini Variator. Air box deleted. Installed a tech. I can’t get the RPMs to go any higher then 8400. The lighter the weights I went 4 & 5’s. Top speed was 37 mph. When I run 5.6 weights 40 mph is a challenge but can happen on long enough of a stretch. One time hit 42 mph. How do I get it into the 9000 range of the RPM band where I’ve been told is the best place to be? I live in Bay Area. So sea level and I weight about 190 lbs.

Do you like sliders over rollers? I have rollers now and I’ve never used sliders.

I know this is gonna sound dumb but is your tires inflated at max pressure? Valve shims adjusted? Is your belt very old (replace if the answer is yes). Once you get 40-45 then move to adding a cdi.

im getting around 39mph @ 9800rpm with 4.5gr weights. I am gonna try the 4.5/5.0 mix and see what happens. would be nice to crack 40mph on the flats. I was getting 42mph with 5.5 grams even before CDI and tach so its hard to know..

We have no hills here it’s just flat so I really don’t need climbing power
