I finally install the disk breaks on the Honda Ruckus. I didn't expect it to be easy but there are some snags you can run into. My advice is to make sure you have all the right parts and the right tools. Feel free to comment if you have questions on how I did something.
NOTE: I am not an expert but more of an enthusiast who is trying to build experience. Please feel free to ask questions in the comments or resources like 49ccScoot forums on the internet (Great Place!)
For China bikes for SURE go to Chinariders.Net

I'm glad you read my comment about rotating that front fork ;)
I did and went to the garage that day and said ... “he’s right” , I couldn’t find the comment or else I would have credited you
Found out theres front drum adapters that allow you to use your oem front brakes on any rim you want, theyre alot cheaper. Then again discs are better for stopping.
Oh lmao you already had that.
Yea on a stock rim , I have the adaptor :) a hub with drum is expensive.
That bike is really coming together. Long way from when I first started watching. Awesome.
Very nice. Looks good. Nice that you have that great stopping power now!
Lookin good!
Thanks
Looks good.
A tyre valve tool is literally just a couple of bucks.
If you are replacing a brake hose get a vacuum bleeder. Saves a lot of trouble. If you tie the lever back over night it will let any remaining air out too.
I’m gonna tie it tonight , yea I need a tire valve tool
@@SmallEngineVelocity not too tight. Just enough to pull the lever back. It doesn't need lots of pressure
Nice great video
Thanks
Awesome video
Thanks
That just made me feel like I should be working on a bike or scooter how ever you want to classify. Like the upgrade don't over break and throw yourself off 😂
To late , slid in some leaves but didn’t drop or loose control (to much)
That looks good. I need to get some other things done first before doing that. But will definitely take your notes
If you look up the NCY kit I'm pretty sure the caliper is smaller. Similar in size to what's stock on the Groms if I'm not mistaken. But at least now you have some good stopping power. You definitely needed it lol
It was pretty strong and scared me when I pulled it like it was a drum
Yea the caliper that come with the kit with the ncy wheel is definitely smaller.
@@SmallEngineVelocity I can imagine. When I rode your ruck in Katy I definitely missed the bite of my front brake
I wonder if the bubbles were getting trapped in the loop in the hose...
I’m fairly sure that is what it was. Eventually I got them out and it’s pretty solid now
Hi ceasar i know hard put on tires on rim because i did that back in past & now 17" rims on bike cycle by hand rope too.
Looks good! I just replaced my front rim and fork but the rim isn't centered, is yours?
His looks centered, he used the NCY wheel though. Mine isn’t centered either, kind of afraid to ride it.
I believe the long spacer goes on the caliper side
Look’n good!
Windex? Tire shops use soap.
I hear soap also but for home DIY if you have windows it’s good
Is there anyway to change the brake lever not using to start to bike
i have a video on right side controls and a start button
Was there anything else needed to prepare the rim other than new tire, valve stem install, and pressing the bearings?
Hey where did you get the front foot pegs from
you need to coat those wheels black !
Yea but $$ ! And I was thinking orange
@@SmallEngineVelocityactually... gy6 swap lol
wd40 is the best thing i have used on tire install
Are you also running rear disk brakes?
I am not , still the drum
About to do my front I just finished the rear on my gy6 ruckus . I know what you mean about being low on money I've spent 6k this year on this thing so far .
For 6k…it was probably mostly towards a motor right?
@@davidl5882 a built 171cc is only 1k. 6 grand is a whole lot of money if you’re doing it yourself. Unless that includes the cost of the bike. The 6 is about right.
Babyoil works best.
Nice 😁✌
My question will be how tight did you get the axle nuts? Because if i tight mine all the way then the front wheel wont spin freely so i got it hand tight but im afraid that thing comes off
Buy the NCY front axel. You can put cutter pins in it.
@@SmallEngineVelocity i currently have that one
@@ezurmnd your not supposed to tighten it all the way bud.
