About The Game: Lego Star Wars: The Video Game is a Lego-themed, action-adventure video game based on the Lego Star Wars line of toys, and the first Lego video game developed by Traveller's Tales, who would develop all future Lego titles from that point on. It was first released on 29 March 2005, and is a video game adaptation of the Star Wars prequel trilogy: The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005), with a bonus segment from A New Hope (1977).

The only time I preferred having voices was in Lego LOTR. Something about hearing the movie lines coming from Lego characters worked hilariously well.

Things that trigger me:
1. Literally only using Jedi Ground Slams.
2. Forgetting to collect studs.
I spam the ground slams whenever i get mad at the enemies killing me over and over

3. When you literally collected every stud and still aren't considered a true Jedi

Devs: "Alright, were gonna make it so when two people playing co-op move 8 feet away from each other the screen limits will hold them both back until someone screams at the other leaving high tension in the room for the rest of the play session."

My brother always loved level 3-1 which invariably led to me and him gluing our characters to opposite sides of the screen, he would be trying his best to make it into that level, while I fought to play literally any level besides that one.
Ironically enough, five years later while replaying the whole game (because transferring data between the Wii and WiiU is nigh impossible,) I realized that it had now become my favorite level as well...
My brother and I would fight to be Luke and episode 3 anakin. Also when one of us didn’t want to play a level the other one would walk back through the door over and over. So many good memories and nostalgia tho

I was always lucky in that regard as my brother ALWAYS played as anakin, and I was always luke, obi wan, boba/jango, or darth vader.

There was one time where this game used actual dialogue. If you pressed circle(on ps2) with the commander battle droid, it would say “roger roger.” When I was younger, just that was probably my favorite thing in the game.

Carrie Fisher appeared on MTV to do an interview on her take of the then-new Star Wars prequels in 1997. The interviewers eventually asked her what she thought of Chewie not getting a medal in A New Hope, and she said she thought it was a shame.
Unbeknownst to her, the producers had brought over Peter Mayhew and had him dressed in full Chewbacca costume backstage. The interviewers agreed with Carrie, then handed her a replica of the same medal props used at the end of A New Hope, played the Award Ceremony music over the stage's sound system while Chewie stepped out, and had her award Chewie his forgotten medal right there and then.

In the bonus room there's a theater room that lets you watch trailers, if you watch the LEGO Indiana Jones trailer you can buy him in the shop.

I'm guessing he was referring to the first time you play the levels, when the cut scenes are unskippable. He must have gotten the scrolling footage when replaying the levels (when you can skip the credits).

I had never seen star wars when I first played this game and somehow I was able to understand the whole story through characters that dont talk and going through the story in chronological order. There were somethings I didnt know until I watched the movie (like leia and luke not knowing they were related) but i find it funny i got my intro to star wars knowledge through this lego game.
Given George Lucas's problems with writing dialogue, I'd say Lego Star Wars is indeed a good place for newcomers to get into the story. No having to sit through Anakin and Padme's awkward courtship dialogue! It's a shame I never got around to finishing the game before my Xbox 360 died.
Fuck yeah! It was the same for me, i 98% the game (beacuse those timed challenges were a little too much for me) and i basically understood most of the story! Me and my friend's favourite thing to do was to roleplay in the little special town level!

The stud cap is 4 billion so keep going (should be easy considering all the stud multipliers stack with each other AND with double score zones)

there is a skip button when you start each level... you have to press start, that's kind of why it says "press start" at the top of the title crawl.

You can skip the credits anytime you want, including the first time.

The original level in the first game was even worse. Also, Gunship Calvary was terrible in it, too.
Quinnton Thedens even mentioning the original versions of those levels is triggering some PTSD flashbacks. Seeing Anakins pod crashing out of that cave over and over again sucked.

I really with you had played the original. They changed the gunship level in the Complete Saga, and it was exceedingly hard. it was awesome.
It is a bonus level in the complete saga so he did play it and also that level is not hard at all its harder than the original but not hard.
The original version of Lego Star Wars is way harder than any of the other Traviler's Tales Lego games. However, I still think that it is one of the best games in the series.

I played these games all the time at my cousins' place as a kid! I would always pick Jango Fett solely because of the jetpack!
While I agree that the Star Wars games work with no voices, I think the comic book LEGO games work much better with voice acting. Lego Batman was fun, but the lack of voice acting really hurt it.
It also helps people who have never seen the movies. I know one of the biggest complaints about the LEGO Harry Potter games was that if you hadn't seen the movies, you would have no idea what's going on.
I'm ok with it for Lego Star Wars: TFA purely because they got the original cast to voice the characters and that's amazing
Also, the reason it didn't work with Lego Batman is because that game had an original plot. The other games, you could tell what was going on because the games were based on the movies and basically just summarized the plot. Batman had an original plot for the game, and the story didn't make that much sense without voice acting.
I completely disagree. I quite enjoyed Lego Batman, but it's sequel Lego Batman 2 (which had voice acting) just fell flat for me. I felt that it wasn't anywhere near as funny as what a Lego game should be. Other voice acted Lego games since have been hit and miss, sometimes reenacting the original scene too well because they now have the voices.

Teddy Underhill Clone Wars comics as much as the rest of the EU was never regarded as canon. I personally enjoyed some of the EU like Legacy and Knights of the Old Republic I liked. But I find it funny that before the EU was marked as non-canon, a majority of people on here regarded the EU and I quote: ''Fan-written horse shit'' which was unfair as the EU had some good stories as well as bad. But ever since Disney announced it wasn't canon officially then all of a sudden there's hundreds of EU fans turning up demanding Disney's head.
I thought they were decent both trilogies have it's pros & cons.

I got 100% in both this & The Clone Wars III and I completely agree that the actual the completionist reward isn’t worth it. Now don’t get me wrong both games are a blast to play, but the reward you get for going through all of that is not satisfying at all.

I really want a Lego game of thrones. I feel like there's a lot that'd be fun to reinact in a Lego videogame, like playing as the dragons to burn shit for fun or controlling entire armies in almost every battle ever. I know I'd have a really fun time playing it.
Okay did anyone else have an incredibly difficult time defeating the Count Dooku boss in Episode II. It took me FOOOREEEEEVER to get passed that level when I was a kid
Mine was the podrace level because I was young and using a Wii controller
I didn't but I had a ton of trouble with the final level of episode 3
