I do a lot of pouring over glass, and found that either pre painting with a solid color before doing the pour, or prepping the glass with a wash of water and a paint conditioner (liqidtex, floetrol, zinsser, etc) helps let the paint cover the glass better. Love the bobbles :)
I think the middle one was awesome. The open spaces brought out an uniqueness about it. The first one had such pretty marble swirls to it and great colors. The third one looked like the sea. They all looked absolutely beautiful after the varnish sprayed on them. It gave them such a pretty glossy finish. I comment you on volunteering your time, Finances, and skills at schools to teach and share art and love with children. Not many schools have people to come in and do this now days. There was several in my childhood who did things of this nature in church and school, but now days it does not happen. There are too many single Mothers and mothers who have to work to make ends meet. God Bless Everyone
I've been doing this for decades! I get the paint at craft stores with 50% off coupons, ornaments too! I did almost 100 one year for my husband to give to the people he works with! They loved them & ask me to make them for other occasions! Wedding ornaments come out really nice!!
Not sure how or why your video showed up but I am very grateful. Just today I was trying to make painted ornaments without success. Everything you talked about in the beginning was happening. I was going to toss them but now I can paint the outside and not waste anything but the paint that I used. Thank you
My daughter and I did these years ago, but we put the paint on the inside and swirled it around. Came out beautiful. Put a few dozen of them on the tree every year.
Nice! I definitely want to try and make these. I kind of like the gaps the drips created on the clean pour. You could try adding glitter on the inside of the ornament so it would poke through those gaps. That could look neat.
Before I ever heard of acrylic pouring (about 13 years ago), I made ornaments using regular metallic craft paints - not mixed with anything - and just poured some good squirts into the ornament. I would just swirl it in til it was totally covered and put them upside down in an egg carton. I’m still using them...usually 2-3 colors. This method is much easier, and will do some this year with the grandkids. Thank you!! 🎄 ornaments. P. S. I meant your method is easier!😊
These are big sellers, I sold nearly 200 of these last year with the paint outside of all sizes. I’ve used artist loft flow acrylic, craft paint, liquitex, and several all kinds mixed with floetrel and a dab of pouring medium ... are very popular and look beautiful on the Christmas tree!
Did mine with craft paint, didn't have a problem doing the inside. Frist I did a light coat, let it drip out, let it set almost a hour. Put plastic over what was left in cup; used what was left in the cup for second coat. Also, didn't use anything but craft paint. Turned out great!
I tried to paint a vase once by pouring on it using floetrol, water and acrylic paint and all the colors mixed together and it basically turned one color. I’m amazed with how marbled yours turned out.
Love them all & will be doing my own this year!! My favourite is that clean pour, I love the definition of colour & the fact that it left those spots it hadn’t covered! Imagine it with a little light! Xx
They turned out great! I’m so glad you did this because I was just thinking the other day that I wondered how pouring on the outside of the ball would be!
I watched you video then went and tried it your way with the cup pour only with the greens, browns and a little yellow. I was going for the camouflage effect. They came out perfect. My husband loves them. Now thanks to him and his mouth ( lol ) I'm having to do some for the tree at his hunting club.
OMG this is exactly what I have been looking for. I want marble looking baubles and did not know how to go about this, now I know! Love the look of three baubles.
I've been making these for years. Started.by painting the inside and they always took forever to dry but I have since done it like this and they always turn out beautiful. Enjoyed the video thank you as always MMG!
You're right about that clean pour one, that one turned out super awesome. They are all beautiful. I realize that my paint did not dry on the inside because there was no air getting in to the bulb. LOL I put one in the hole of my drying rack and it dried really good. And I found that the craft smart works a lot better if it is much thicker. But the artist Loft and my liquitex Basics works the best. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
I found when I did the inside for whatever reason some of them never did dry or if they did.... Possibly melted as I have a wood stove and it gets a little to hot in me store room. I love the look and will try the outside pour. I make jewelry too and have been making a little bling to go over the balls.
Oh I love this idea! I was wondering what would be the best way to make some bulbs to match my new decor colors and it looks like I just found it. I'm thrilled! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing! I love all three. I attempted to make these and poured the paint inside, shook one and twirled a few and put in cups to dry, they care out good, but I will try your method (l ❤️ your method)
One suggestion I would make is to put some freezer or parchment paper over your foam. That way you can keep it cleaner and then you can peal off the paint for skins when dried.
Love this idea! For the clean pour, at first I was like, “meh, idk about this one, because of the coverage”, and then when you showed it, I liked it the best!!! I love the teardrop shaped openings because you could see through it to the colors inside!! That turned out fabulous! I definitely think the better quality paint made a prettier bulb in terms of the crispness of the lines. That’s why I’ll be using MMG paints! 😊💜 Thx for the wonderful idea!
You can do something similar with a lot less mess and paint if you use just straight craft paint (any type) and drip small amounts inside the ornament (maybe 3 or 4 colors, and I like 1 being a metallic), kind of dividing up the inside of the ornament with the colors. Then just put the ornament on the open end of a plastic cup and rotate it around every couple of hours to cover the insides and swirl the paint as much as you desire. Them when all of the swirling is done, just flip the ornament so that the opening is at the bottom and drain out the rest of the paint. By now it has dried enough and doesn’t all drain out. No need to varnish and I have had some of these for 20 years and they still look great!
I made some with the paint on the inside. I forgot to use a floor cleaner 1st and the paintvdidnt adhere well. I want try a pour too. I love the marbled effects you got with this method
First of all......using popsicle sticks prevents the balls from tilting to one side. Brilliant idea! Secondly, based on the size of the puddles on the styrofoam I think you used less paint with the clean pour, and I loved the little areas that stayed unpainted. 🙂
They're SO pretty!! Now I have to go buy a bunch more. I always grab a lot of these clear ones around this time of year. Living at the beach, and, my children find a ton of the tiniest shells, we put sand and shells in ours and sell them periodically. But, NOW...I have other reason to have them. What better pre Christmas gift to give than something that can be used for Christmas!? Thank you Marcy!!! 💜💕💞
Yes this was a very good video. I liked the clean pour but after you put the sealer on I think I liked the craft paint one the best. Thank you for the video.
I made those for my boys and their girl friends about 12 years ago, it was a blast. I used craft (Apple Barrel and Delta) brands, mine were clean pours and inside.
Great minds think alike! Lol! I paint poured christmas bulbs last year the same exact way! Rectangle styrofoam I found around the house and popsicle sticks! Looked just like yours and I thought it worked perfectly! Your bulbs look very nice!
I love this! Thinking of making Christmas bulbs w my new acrylic paints for my mom fir her bday 😀this was fun to watch.. you processed each step throughly.. love how beautiful yours turned out!! ❤
Hey, I might try this. I have balls that the silk wrappings are getting stringy, and smooth balls that have faded over the years. I also have a box of kids craft paint going unused. Instead of buying new, I think I will freshen up my old balls this way with the poured paint. Thanks for the fun idea. :)
I have just finished a boat load of these for a craft sale. I didn't do anything to them first. I waited a week before spraying to make sure paint was dry.
Oh wow! These all turned out awesome! Ar first I wasn't so sure about the middle one. But it's gorgeous! Now I have to hoard plastic ornaments and try it myself.😅
I do a lot of pouring over glass, and found that either pre painting with a solid color before doing the pour, or prepping the glass with a wash of water and a paint conditioner (liqidtex, floetrol, zinsser, etc) helps let the paint cover the glass better. Love the bobbles :)
it's cool!
Thanks for this tip!
Thanks for your advice. Merry Christmas 2021,
I think the middle one was awesome. The open spaces brought out an uniqueness about it.
The first one had such pretty marble swirls to it and great colors.
The third one looked like the sea.
They all looked absolutely beautiful after the varnish sprayed on them.
It gave them such a pretty glossy finish.

We did these in-side the ball years and years ago.. I am talking like 23-25 years ago they worked out perfect, and still is glorious.
My daughter and I did these years ago, but we put the paint on the inside and swirled it around. Came out beautiful. Put a few dozen of them on the tree every year.
I like the one that didnt get paint all over looks so cool with the openings
How cleaver. I never would have thought of doing clean and dirty pours. 👩🏼🎨🎨
when the glass has bare spots, I use an eye dropper and squeeze out paint on the spots that need to be filled in! It works great!
I take floor wax and coat the inside with glitter!
I like how the second one turned out. Great idea.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I finally was able to get paint to stick!!! Made a dozen last night. Just have to clear coat them!
I love the colors on the pink one you used an example, pretty, pretty, PRETTY!!!
I made these about 20 years ago. I used craft acrylic paints on the inside. Worked a treat. We are still using them.
I’ve already started dot mandala ornaments and now I’m kicking myself because these are GORGEOUS
I bet you could do a pour and then add some dots to them after they are dried.
I adore the clean poor one , the spaces where the paint didn't run look perfect .
I love watching the transformation of the colors
Nice! I definitely want to try and make these. I kind of like the gaps the drips created on the clean pour. You could try adding glitter on the inside of the ornament so it would poke through those gaps. That could look neat.
Oh my that clean pour is so awesome
The clean pour in the middle was my favourite. They're beautiful thank you for sharing!

I absolutley LOVE the centre one!!

I love these!!! I love how the one had the clear spots!!
I personally liked the one you called the clean pour. Great ideas....thanks a bunch.
Love them all & will be doing my own this year!! My favourite is that clean pour, I love the definition of colour & the fact that it left those spots it hadn’t covered! Imagine it with a little light! Xx
Yes, they would look magical on the tree with tree lights shining through.
I really like the gaps in the middle one. Going to do a ton of these for my daughter’s dance team girls!
They turned out great! I’m so glad you did this because I was just thinking the other day that I wondered how pouring on the outside of the ball would be!
The middle one came out sooo pretty. I would love to try this with my sister's family and her kids. We love doing holiday arts and crafts together.
Love these! I think the middle one is my favorite!
I did for xmas last year, as gifts for co-workers. They turned out good, but yours are better!
LOVE how the third one turned out 😍
Such an awesome idea. I would just need to use a little less paint. Maybe add some glitter paint too. How neat!
what an Amazing craft project .... they looked fab

Love this idea! Next time you should try it over a canvas, somehow, to catch the drippings!! Would make an interesting painting!
I've been making these for years. Started.by painting the inside and they always took forever to dry but I have since done it like this and they always turn out beautiful.
Enjoyed the video thank you as always MMG!
Yes it's beautiful
Wow, these all look amazing. What a great idea. Thank you.
An inside pour works super with clue, thank's for the inspiration 😊
Thank you! I love Christmas and all the decorations!! ♡♡

You make it look so easy.
I've had a lot of practice :)
Oh I love this idea! I was wondering what would be the best way to make some bulbs to match my new decor colors and it looks like I just found it. I'm thrilled! Thank you so much for sharing this.

Dang, I'm sure glad I found your channel. Your art is amazing!
Very Beautiful ornaments 💞 that pink & brown one is so GORGEOUS 💞💞 I'm gonna try this 🎄
One suggestion I would make is to put some freezer or parchment paper over your foam. That way you can keep it cleaner and then you can peal off the paint for skins when dried.
So awesome, thank you, my great grand girls will love this❤️❤️❤️
Wow the middle one is fab!
I love these! Doing the insides were a bust a few days ago. So I am glad I saw your video!! Thank you!!!
the pink one was gorgeous.
They came out awesome. Something different for gift giving. Blessings Shirlene

Dirty pour wins!!! Love this!

Pouring on stuff is really fun. Have watched all your vase videos. Have done several, but soak it off again as I don’t like them.
these came out so pretty, can't decide which I like best, nice color combinations !
I made some with the paint on the inside. I forgot to use a floor cleaner 1st and the paintvdidnt adhere well. I want try a pour too. I love the marbled effects you got with this method

I love these, especially the middle one. Gonna have a go!

That is a great idea about the shells.
Yes this was a very good video. I liked the clean pour but after you put the sealer on I think I liked the craft paint one the best. Thank you for the video.
This is a great idea. I have already painted 4,but am not crazy about them. I love your idea.
Thanks Marcy. I made some ornaments last year and ended up throwing them away. I’ll try your technique!! 😁
I love love love the middle one! Well done!
Omg they're gorgeous 😮😍
Sooo cool...I love the clean drip (middle one)...gotta get some more paint!!!!!
Thank you for your tutorials :)
I tried the ornaments and the canvas tonight LOVE LOVE LOVE
I don’t really enjoy christmas but this could change my mind
I made those for my boys and their girl friends about 12 years ago, it was a blast. I used craft (Apple Barrel and Delta) brands, mine were clean pours and inside.
Wonderful to see how you pour the pain on the the outside ...love it , I have the x balls so newton get the paints...thankyou
I love this!! I have been using India ink on the inside which is great,, but I love this technique too! Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Do you need to prep the inside with polycyclic before using the india ink?
I just realized I TYPO’d that. I meant to say I use ALCOHOL ink. Yes I also use an Alcohol blending solution.
Great minds think alike! Lol! I paint poured christmas bulbs last year the same exact way! Rectangle styrofoam I found around the house and popsicle sticks! Looked just like yours and I thought it worked perfectly! Your bulbs look very nice!
Very cool. This just might be my next project. Thanks for sharing.
I did this but on the inside and THEY LOOK AMAZING! It does take a lot of paint though...
Another super îdea ! I must stopped working to try all I learn with you ! 😁
I love this! Thinking of making Christmas bulbs w my new acrylic paints for my mom fir her bday 😀this was fun to watch.. you processed each step throughly.. love how beautiful yours turned out!! ❤
Ah I love this!!! So pretty!
We made. Some. 2. Years. Ago. . Am. Going to. Make. Some. More. Loved. The. Different. Designs. We made
I did cheaper paint and just glue to try and keep it thicker and it works ok. needs more tests! love your videos!
Gorgeous and such a fun idea. Well done!
This is amazing, I may have to attempt my own version of this. It looks complicated. Stunning work!
Hey, I might try this. I have balls that the silk wrappings are getting stringy, and smooth balls that have faded over the years. I also have a box of kids craft paint going unused. Instead of buying new, I think I will freshen up my old balls this way with the poured paint. Thanks for the fun idea. :)
Giggles...old balls, smooth balls, balls wrapped in silk that are faded. Refreshing your balls sound like a great idea.
Lol!!!!!!
@@shirleygale657 ....You know.... now that you mention it..... (sidelong glance towards my husband)
These are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!! I was kicking this idea around and now I have to try it!! Love the popsicle sticks in foam trick, that was one thing I was struggling with!!
I have just finished a boat load of these for a craft sale. I didn't do anything to them first. I waited a week before spraying to make sure paint was dry.
This is very interesting!
I love the clean pour! How cool is that !?👍👏😍😘
Oh wow! These all turned out awesome!
Ar first I wasn't so sure about the middle one. But it's gorgeous!
Now I have to hoard plastic ornaments and try it myself.😅
Yes it's awesome!
I love this craft! You might can spray paint the ornament all white before doing the clean pours. Just a suggestion.
Great idea :)
LOVE the clean pour!!!!!
Thank you for this. Clean pour was my favorite.
Love this video tutorial!!! Love the 2nd one soooo beautiful and first one pretty as well💙
You could use the colored bulbs for those you don’t want to be see-through. I love the clean pour see through though!
These are beautiful! They kind of remind me of those cool glass paper weights that are psychedelic. I mean, I like them 😅
That is soooooo cool I want to try this with my son 🤩
Very awesome idea love them!!
