Sooooo glad to see this content! My daughter is biracial, as such, her beautiful hair is different from mine. Not wanting my child looking crazy we've always gotten services done by stylists that know her hair. They have recommended products for home use that are typically used on people of color. They work on my hair beautifully. When I suggest them to friends etc, they look at me sideways. I am so glad you put this out. Good product is just good product. Thank you!
I put all my white friends on to these things as well as deep conditioners, etc. We are all women and gotta bring each other up in this world. Most hair types can benefit from moisturizing products and also just babying your hair. ♀️💆🏿♀️
Hey u still here? White guy. Noticed my shampoo had that chemical that made hair thin. There’s a big lawsuit and shit. Anyways so I got this Jamaica mango castor oil. Do I do it with dry hair and leave or do I wash it out afterwards?
Incorporating natural hair products does wonders for every type of hair...my favorites are: Rose water to refresh hair, Sheamoisture's scalp elixir, and Belle organics products or your own hibiscus powder to strengthen the deep conditioner. Also, a softhood dryer helps boost deep conditioners as well. L
I'm not black and I have barely a wave 2a hair, but it is dry AF! Trying to cope with my hair that is always bone dry any lower than my ears and my sensitive scalp led me to the natural hair blogs and to black hair products. I've had to experiment to find the routine and amount of product that works for me, but it is so worth it.
Any SheaMoisture products! I use them religiously on my semi-curly/wavy hair! My hair curls up beautifully when I use the SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner as a leave is! It's necessary!
I'm so glad you are doing this video! I am white, and I find that glossing polish is awesome. It seems like it is marketed towards black hair, but it is great on a variety of textures.
Edge control takes my mind straight to jlo. She always does it. I used to always relate it to my black besties but now I think of her. I think because she is PR. It’s stood out to me. It looks sleek and put together 😍
I have 2b/2c wavy hair and I have used all of these products for years. That castor oil is a game changer I noticed so much less fallout after I started using it. Have not tried that brand of edge control but I just ordered it on amazon and can't wait to try it.
I am Native/Irish, and just recently discovered I have 2b/2c mix hair. I swear, I didn't know. I had straight hair when I was little, then curly perms starting at 12 or so, until 20 or so, and I've been straightening it every since. It's been 20 years since I was 20 (hey, math!), and I legit had no idea until I bought some Cantu leave in because I liked the smell, and did what some girl in a video did - bam - weird half curls everywhere. Been perfecting my methods, and taking care of my secret curls every since with satin bonnets, castor oil, etc. I love all kinds products from the 'ethnic' section, everything mainstream seems so harsh.
Hi Britney, I’m white and I had always had super straight hair and had always kept it really short, like a pixie well, about 6 years ago, my daughter, (who is a hair stylist as well) talked me into letting my hair grow. Well, now my hair is half way down my back and curly! Never had a Curl in my life! My hair would not even hold a curl! It was so difficult to manage, that’s why my mom kept it short and I continued to keep it short! Now I have beautiful curly hair and I don’t know where it came from! I’m going to give some of your tips a try. If you know how my hair changed, let me know. My doctor said it could be hormone related! What do you think?🌺🌺🌺
happened to me, too. Not sure when, because my hair didn't have the opportunity to be curly until about a year ago. I am 40, had my son when I was 20. Maybe it is a hormone thing?
My mom didn't know how to manage my hair as a kid and it was always super frizzy and thick. People called me 'fluffy' in middle school and I tried to straighten it, with no success. In my late teens into my 20's it thinned out and straightened, but now in my early 30's it's starting to go back to the texture I never learned to manage properly.
I have the same texture as you, but I can only distantly aspire to your level of grooming😊! Would love to see your review of that reverse hair dryer that is popping up everywhere, but on curly hair to see how it aids in the straightening process...
The castor oil is really good for your skin too! I used it for my stretch marks and it took all the red/purple out of them and the coconut smell is intoxicating 😍
Brittney! I love your videos :) I am white and use Vaseline to tame my edges and fly-aways and I only use a tiny tiny amount. I especially use this when I do my sisters hair because she has really curly hair with lots of little curly baby hairs and fly-always and it makes her hair look more finished whether she wearing it straight or curly.
I use black hair brands jst because they have the BEST scents. Carols Daughter Black vanilla leave in conditioner is everythiiiiing. I wish they made it in a body spray. Even though I’m white my hair is wavy and it jst drinks up moisture. I didn’t use conditioner for a while bc I read it was bad for your hair but it became frizzy and tangled. Now I condition, co-wash, use leave in conditioner and jojoba oil on the ends and my hair responds so well to all the TLC. I have a satin pillowcase but never thought to wrap my hair up. Back in the 50s it was common knowledge to preserve your hairstyle to wrap it so everyone did it. Also might try edge control to help these fly aways. I typically jst try to keep them down with some serum but it doesn’t work that well.
I'm not sure if this is considered black hair product but it's usually found in the ethnic hair section, I think Aphogee is a a really good hair brand, it really improved the condition of my hair. I recommend the 2 step protein treatment and the 2 minute reconstructor(makes hair soo soft and manageable)
I just started using tea tree oil (Earths nectar jojoba tea tree oil )like this week,Lol. I have a dry scalp living in the desert, I don’t believe it’s dandruff because it’s not flakes just when my scalp gets itchy I have dead skin there, I switched to sulfate free shampoo this year too, mostly from following your advice Brit!
I'mhave the same thing. Tea tree doesn't work for me but I put acv in my hair and massage it in and let it sit for a while before washing my hair. Can I ask what shampoo you use?
I've always been curious about black hair product. I have really thick frizzy hair. Takes me hours to straighten it. I also don't produce oil right. When I was younger, yes I couldn't go 2 days and I was a grease ball. Now I can go 8-9 days before I start seeing the first signs of oil. Growing up I also had straight hair and now, as an adult and 4 kids later, I have curly hair and I believe I learned from you about the oil on straight verse curly hair. I've always wondered about these products but feel like I may hurt someone's feelings asking, everyone screaming "cultural appropriation". I use a good shampoo and conditioner and have using a leave in conditioner, which has helped tame it. Thanks for the video!
Meant to say, I rarely ever use hair spray or mousse but when I do do my hair it's usually mousse right after a wash because it has such a pretty curl. Just goes really bad if I don't use anything and brush when it's drying, it goes everywhere. I do in home care so I don't wear my hair down a lot, it's usually up, so no need for sprays for anything, unless I'm trying to keep my devil's horns down, lmao!!
LLB MAGA Shea moisture has some good shampoos and conditioners and they’re a drugstore brand that can be easily used on all hair types. A lot of these types of products for textured hair are just moisturizing, curl/frizz control, or clarifying so if you’re just picking up some regular haircare items you shouldn’t have to worry about something being “too strong”. If anything just start off with a moisturizing hair mask from a beauty supply store.
@@MrsCurioCheerio Thank you, I will. What I meant by too strong is I once used this conditioning oil/balm for black hair and it took me 3 washes to get it out. It was also years ago when I didn't have so much of an issue producing oil. Thank you both for replying, I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Thank you for letting me know about that castor oil. I have such bad dandruff, and I always feel unkempt and gross if I have little flakes in my hair. I usually scrub my scalp with head and shoulders, and it works for that day, but then the following days I'm plagued with little flakes. My hair is really dry and wavy, borderline curly , so washing it sucks. Plus, it's pretty cheap for something that works.
LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU.........I cannot say it enough your videos due to your wealth of knowledge are simply in a class by themselves I have learned so much from you in such a short time and you explain everything so thourough yet so easy to comprehend thank you so much for this.. I would also like to thank you for wearing different off the shoulder tops YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL D'ecolletage.....
I have an important hair question! What is your opinion on Olaplex? Do you think it works the way the company claims and do you use it on your clients that request it?
I use Murray’s pomade it’s seriously the best. I have wavy hair (not curly) that gets frizzy so I just put a tiny bit of this in my fingertips and touch it in. Creates a great textured look without looking greasy and it lasts forever.
I have asked my friends with long straight hair how they sleep to keep from getting crinkles when they wake up or strangling themselves or pulling their hair out when rolling over. They have been like, "Oh, it's not a big deal/that doesn't happen." And I'm like HOW? It happens to me if I don't wear a bonnet and have feed in braids or faux locs! Everyone needs a bonnet. I don't care who you are―whether you're choking or think bugs are crawling on your sheets just to find it's a shed hair. GET A SATIN BONNET.
I don't have curly hair but I love Jamaican Black Castor Oil, but it's so hard to wash out so I mix with organic sunflower oil (carrier oil) 50/50 ratio, it works great I love it, I definitely need to buy the other 2 products I have fine hair and it's so dry, it helps ♥️😁
This is great :D would you mind posting a video about what people with thin or fine hair could do to make their hair look more full? I would really appreciate that 😊😊😊
I couldn't find the tea tree one but the mango and lime Jamaican black castor oil I bought it to try on my granddaughter's scalp to treat for dandruff. And I also bought some Shea Butter Black Castor Oil Strengthening and Restoring shampoo and conditioner. (My daughter and granddaughter inherited my ex wife's straight hair that tangles like a hay bail. And we are not mixed or African American. Just Irish descent.) My gosh...I've never seen anything eliminate tangles like that in my granddaughter's hair. ( When I said tangled like hay it wasnt an exaggeration.).I wish someone had informed me years ago about how good the products in the African-American ladies section was. I thought my daughter and granddaughter's hair was a lost cause.
I’ve put my two white roommates with pin straight hair on to satin pillow cases, shea moisture duu rags for braids 😂😂😂 also where is your shirt from sis ? Love it
The black castor oil breaks my face out I believe and no lie after watching your videos I will try it for a scalp treatment next week.i typically use a moisturizer and hair grease both have castor oil infused in them my hair seems to be doing very good but my dandruff is ugh I have bad dandruff lol and thank you for explaining why you don't go natural I am the exact same way.straight is just a lower maintenance and you can just be on the go.i tried natural because I do love my curls and I wish I wasn't so lazy and wanted to get up a whole hour early to tend to my curls every morning maybe if I was a house wife or something like that but I just don't lol I probably still wouldn't I like my sleep and a quick wrap or pony throw on that satin cap and we are good to go.i also use them for when I shower because a normal shower cap will make my hair sweat and revert back with all of the heat and humidity from the hot steam.
my natural hair type is a mix of 2a and 2b and down to my upper thigh, I've used the satin bonnet before to sleep in when my hair's in an up do, tried it out to see if it would hold my style, my dad's Bangladeshi, sometime I do a high tower top knot and place a spring hair tie around it, can only fit it around my bun once, I get the spring hair ties from Mixed Chicks dot net
Can you please do a video on how often can you use keratin enriched shampoo and conditioners? I recently purchased the moroccanoil moisture repair shampoo and conditioner, which contains hydrolyzed keratin, keratin amino acids, silk amino acids, and hydrolyzed vegetable protein. Is that safe to use weekly? I won't get protein overload? I have Caucasian thin blonde hair that I do root touch ups every 6 months and only wash hair 1-2x weekly. And I don't use heat ironing tools. Would be do greatly appreciated! Thanks ❤
can you please talk about ginger/red hair and what tones would look good on different skin tones and undertones?? im a really *pale* olive yellow and ive been dreaming about having (natural looking) ginger hair, but the only people ive seen that can pull it off (or the only pictures/tutorials online) is either cool toned pale or dark skinned people (bc dark skin can handle fiery bright colors), i just need to know if its possible or if itll look awful on pale olives
Amanda James My (side of the 😳) closet is tiny but maybe I will because a lot of people have been asking for a fashion video and I’ve been revamping my wardrobe!
Would you also recommend wrapping your hair for girls who just have soft curls/ super wavy hair? Btw as a cosmetology student I also appreciate all the knowledge you've shared on your channel :)
I don’t have coily hair but I have wavy/curly thick long textured hair and I’m Hispanic. I have used other products marketed toward black women before ( remember the pink stuff?) but have steered away from all drugstore hair care since I started coloring my hair. It’s very dry and has some damage. My question is how would I use the edge control if I keep my hair curly? I’m too lazy to blow dry and flat iron my hair. It’s only straight when I get a cut and my stylist blows it out. I’m going to look into a satin pillow case too because it’s also good for the skin. Thank you for this very informative video ❤️
I definitely would like to try that fly away gel. I have straight hair. I have too many fly always on my root. However I’m worried that the gel won’t hold up as well as hair spray...it’s extremely important for my job because I work around so many fans. I need my hair to stay in place.
So if I have really straight, thin, blonde hair - would edge control work to keep my "flyaways" under control all along my part without making my hair look greasy or oily? It's not just on where I would have edges, I need control all along the top of my part lol. Usually I use hair spray, but it really doesn't last and I don't like the texture of hair spray either. Thanks for all your tips!
I HATE wrapping my hair (terrible) mostly because I don’t have a “get ready for bed” routine I kids complete it intermittently throughout the evening so I kinda fall asleep at weird times? Not an excuse I know. I do however sleep on satin pillows exclusively so I guess that’s something
I'm hispanic and have loose curls/very wavy hair, how about sleeping with a loose braid, would that reduce damage too? It's too warm in the canary islands to sleep with a bonnet !
Hi there thank you for the video...what do you suggest for shine to the hair. I know diet and water, but do you have any product recommendations or video with information to increase shine to the hair (dark hair not bleached ).
I'm black and I don't use edge control or any oils lol. I use one or two products regularly. Too lazy for anything else lol. At least you style your hair. I leave mine in one style lol. I used to think my natural hair was a struggle and it took forever to do until I learned from a natural hair stylist how to make it simple. Takes me an hour to an hour and half to do and I don't have to touch it for the rest of the week. Straightening my hair takes wayy too much work for me to only wear it a week. I'm not bout that life lol. Props to you lol.
Essence Hood no 😳 I know how to braid in general but no other do not perform those services because I’m just not good at it and it never piqued my interest enough to learn and perfect it
I aswell use these products but she is bomb collection edge control off ig and the braid glaze omg yall when I tell you yo shiiiiiii ain't movin you can be sucked up by a tornado and nothing move!
I am so scared to purchase this gel for curly hair and you scrunch it in your hair when its wet and I'm scared someones gonna get mad but i have natural curly hair so idk what to do

Could you do a makeup tutorial? Your makeup is always so beautiful!
Loved this video btw
Thanks for the mention I definitely appreciate it
I definitely wanna try the castor oil! Nice video x
Great video! You look gorgeous as usual. What lip gloss is that?
Closet tour next?! I’d be interested js
Amanda James My (side of the 😳) closet is tiny but maybe I will because a lot of people have been asking for a fashion video and I’ve been revamping my wardrobe!
Brittney Gray yay I would be so happy your clothes are so cute
Yes please do fashion videos!!
love these tips cant wait to try.
Would you also recommend wrapping your hair for girls who just have soft curls/ super wavy hair? Btw as a cosmetology student I also appreciate all the knowledge you've shared on your channel :)
Is sleeping on a silk pillow the same ? I use the slip brand by Jen Atkin
Silk and satin are the same thing
N. S. I googled it and they are not :)!
As long as it lets your hair glide with no problem of friction it should be good
Just found you ... three vids in you’re my favorite now
Brittney! I'm Jen and I love your product reviews. What do you think of the Ouai by Jen Atkin products? Ever tried any?
Hey!!!! Beautiful as always 💕💕💕
I love your videos. They are funny and informative.
Can you do a video in hair tools, what did you think about GHD/cloud 9, Dyson dryer? I'd love to know
I don’t have coily hair but I have wavy/curly thick long textured hair and I’m Hispanic.
Alicia Galgano omg yes! ☺️ pink lotion 😆
Love your personality!
love your eyes in this video!
I hope you don't mind me mentioning (for those that may be wondering), the edge control is not CG friendly.
Edge control does not work for my curly fine hair...my hair gives no effs
start doing reaction video babeee!! They are my favorite from you :( I love knowing your imput on things!
How would you go about using the Castor Oil as a deep conditioner? I'm natural(ish) (my hair is bleached), and would like to give it a try :)
Hi Brittney. What do you think about the Thermal Hair Care Hot Head for deep conditioning?
I HATE wrapping my hair (terrible) mostly because I don’t have a “get ready for bed” routine I kids complete it intermittently throughout the evening so I kinda fall asleep at weird times? Not an excuse I know. I do however sleep on satin pillows exclusively so I guess that’s something
Im latina curvy hair and I've always wonder what was the bonnet ? Thank you . I may try but I don't know . I would look like grandma
I'm hispanic and have loose curls/very wavy hair, how about sleeping with a loose braid, would that reduce damage too? It's too warm in the canary islands to sleep with a bonnet !
Hi which hair colour are you wearing?
what pallets did you use for your eye makeup ?
I was wondering if you could help me, i have red hair and i really wanna dye it my favorite color, purple. What brand would work for my hair?
Hi there thank you for the video...what do you suggest for shine to the hair. I know diet and water, but do you have any product recommendations or video with information to increase shine to the hair (dark hair not bleached ).
Alright now.. Thx for this Brittney!
Great video. Thanks
Plz reply me what I do for my white hair my age is 25
Where is the pink stretchy scarf from? So cute
She said it was leftover fabric and she didn't remeber what the fabric was called
I love the Suzanne Vega intro!

@@BrittneyGray Nine objects of desire is still a favorite album of mine.

Anyone else catch mad Vanessa Williams vibes from Brittney? She looks so similarrrrrrrrrrrr!
I am white, and I sleep with 2 braids every night.
And on a silk pillowcase!
Can you braid, or do twist or locs?
Galaxy 200399282 thank you 💋
Essence Hood no 😳 I know how to braid in general but no other do not perform those services because I’m just not good at it and it never piqued my interest enough to learn and perfect it
9:10 😂😂 lmao... my ex said something similar. He really didn’t care... I think it’s because some nights I didn’t wrap my hair so it balanced it out.
Notification squad 😊😊😍
Nicolle tolentino I appreciate it!
Brittney Gray thanks for always keeping it real. ❤️❤️
