I'm always down to listen to Chris!! U should definitely dive into his band Temple of the Dog, who he formed with Eddie Vetter of Pearl Jam! Say hello to heaven, Times of trouble, and Hunger strike are just a few of my favorites....There's also a video of Chris and Chester singing Hunger stike together live thats definitely worth a reaction!!
Man I tell you... Black Pegasus is just climbing higher and higher in my eyes with these reactions. Finally audioslave and Shinedown and foo fighters 👍
I still cry often when listening to their music. To imagine what they were going thru while they brought so much happiness to the fans. It just to think about it. I hate we lost them.
You can never go wrong with Audioslave. They're great together as a band or individually. Chris always battled depression and you can tell in some of his songs. But definitely more Audioslave and I recommend "Show me how to live" next because it would be a great transition from this song. It's also bada$$
Thanks so much for the Chris Cornell reactions. Greatest vocalist in the past 30 years in my humble opinion. Please check our Shadow On The Sun by Audioslave, phenomenal vocals and incredible lyrics. Thanks again
You need to listen to his songs on the band temple of the dog like Say Hello 2 Heaven , hunger Strike , or call me a dog and his songs on Soundgarden like Spoonman, They day i tried to live, Outshined, Rusty Cage and Burden in my hands
Chris killed himself right after a concert in Detroit. It was so devastating. Chris hung himself. Chester song for his funeral and hung himself on Chris's birthday. As a superfan of Soundgarden since 1989 it destroyed a lot of us. Chris helped so many of us through our darkest times. Btw, that is Rage's drummer, not someone else.
Speaking the truth. Never can underestimate mental illness having dealt with it myself over more than 47 of my 57 years. But man his death hit me so hard. Not just the fact that he was no longer with us but being blindsided that he was once again in that place a lot of us find ourselves and this time not making it through to the other side. No one knows clearly what anyone especially a celebrity is truly going through but it just devastated me and took some time to be happy again because he gave us so much whenever I hear his music.
I mean Soundgarden is Chris Cornell! “Outshined” “ Black Hole Sun! They came out in 1980s and started Grunge with Alice In Chains Nirvana Pearl Jam ect. You have to at least react to his amazing vocal in Soundgarden music! This was like his side side project. The drummer just has longer hair same dude from Rage !
I’m so glad you get what Chris was so good. It’s so sad that we lost him so early. He was so iconic and we are so lucky to have him for the time we did.
The name Audioslave comes from the movie Vanishing Point. The radio station that the main character listens to, the DJ calls his listeners audioslaves. Great movie.
Awesome reaction, brother! If you go down the Audioslave rabbit hole, you gotta check out Cochise, Shadow on the Sun, Doesn't Remind Me, Show Me How to Live, and Gasoline.
Chris Cornell passed away first and then Chester, already struggling with his mental health before Chris's passing, passed a couple of months later. So sad 😞
This song means a lot to me and I have the chorus tattoed on my arm. He passed in the same way Chester did. They were good friends. Chester chose to pass on Chris Cornell's birthday 💔
If you believe that they chose it. It’s hard to believe they would do that to their kids . Exspecially when you look into the details of when they were found and what the actual autopsy details. Pretty odd but ppl aren’t allowed to question those type of things these days lol
Chris was the most beautiful person I’ve ever met in person. I didn’t know him at all, I just met him. He was absolutely personable and sweet. I don’t even remember what was said I just remember how I felt. I’ve met so many popular musicians over time, for reasons unrelated to this comment. Not only do many famous people not look you in the eyes but they certainly don’t usually ask how you’re doing and say thank you for being around. He did. I was of course frozen in awkwardness even though I knew it was not more than a quick meeting.
Same drummer Brad Wilk (also of Rage Against the Machine/ Prophets of Rage)... as well as Tom Morello (guitar) and Timmy Commerford (bass) of RATM/ Prophets of Rage... (FYI - Prophets of Rage was the band they formed without RATM vocalist Zack De La Rocha... they hired rappers Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill + Public Enemy's DJ Lord)
You more and more remind me of the times that my favorite radio DJ's were searching for new 45's in different stores for new releases, bootlegs and imports of (new) bands and artists. He would anounce couple of times that he had something new and than: Silence ... "Guys, I found something very beautiful, listen to this .. KABOOM!". Again we learned from this new band, LP or hitsingle... You may take this as a huge compliment my friend. Love your style and love your channel!
This was not one of my favorite Audioslave songs in the past because I thought the lyrics were too simple and a little cliche, but I come back to it with a new appreciation. Your reaction helped me look at it differently. So if you read this, thank you.
Please also check out “I am the highway” by audioslave. It is another great song. I love this song, Chris Cornell was an amazing artist. His passing hurt my heart.❤️
That was the most devastating thing about his loss. That he has fought for so long through mental health issues, addiction, and lasted as long as he did. Blessed us with amazing music and STILL he was suffering enough to take his life. After Andrew, Lane, Kurt, Chester and sooo many more I didn’t mention. Man it sucked and all we can do at this point is enjoy the gifts he gave us. Thank you for this reaction.
There's one song by Soundgarden that no one reacts to(it's the song name I believe) that is so good. I'm a 35 year survivor of depression and in a lot of ways it helped back in my teens. Like Suicide, trust me it's musical progression, vocals and lyrics are friggin epic. It's my favourite song of Chris's whether he was in Soundgarden or Audioslave and I love both bands as well as being a RATM fan as well.
This song gives me similar vibes as Foo Fighters, Best of You. Feel good songs with a strong message about the human experience. So good, nice reaction
I’m around your age and was on to this music as a young man. I grew up with this man being my favorite modern vocalist. His writing peaked through the stratosphere on his audioslave albums. Lyrically and vocally matured. He was great from the jump. But the songwriting on the audioslave tracks was his opus, in unfortunate retrospect.
I found your channel today, first video I watched was Reba's Fancy and I've been watching more for the last little bit. I just gotta say thanks for helping me get through a tough day, I love your reactions and your original stuff I definitely subscribed and plan on being a regular viewer. Great work! The song/band choices are all stuff that I love so this is perfection! Sidenote: I'm a lifelong Washingtonian, where Chris was from so that may be a little telling of my music tastes lol. 🖤
This is Chris' interview with a music site: The lyrics were inspired by events from the frontman's, Chris Cornell's, own life. "The 'be yourself' part really just came from a lot of things that I've gone through in my life and a lot of different changes and all the different tragedies and all the horrendously stupid mistakes I've made in my personal life, and wanting to be able to make up for those things and wanting to be able to not be ashamed, all that stuff," he explained. "You know, that's the one thing about getting older that's better, and this song kinda says it so simply, to a degree that 10 years ago I would've been embarrassed to put it in a song 'cause it is so simple. But there it is." He was always a deeper meaning kind of person, that's why *Jesus Christ Pose* isn't what too many make it out to be.
Chris is at much a great talent! Brings tears to my eyes just to see and hear him. RIP Chris, anything you check out with him as the singer is fire. I suggest Jesus Christ Pose by his previous band Soundgarden.
Last Chris Cornell last song he ever sung was Led Zeppelin’s “In my dying days”. Live in concert with Sound Garden. Just felt so creepy with me and incredibly sad 😢
I literally just watched your reaction to GNR's Sweet Child & I left a comment saying something along the lines of "thank God you have this channel so you have us to rationalise simple messages that you overthink." But in instances like this, I'm glad I have you to clarify these lyrics. I don't come from a Christian background and therefore, couldn't grasp what the versus are about. I have Christian relatives, been to Christian weddings, blablabla.. I had to sing this song in a cover band, so I just memorised the lyrics & sang with gusto. My approach would have been completely different if I "TRULY UNDERSTOOD" what he was conveying. Cheers Black.. 🍻 Separately, Cornell unfortunately committed suicide. My heart drops every time I say/think about it. Still can't believe he made this our reality to live with.
Chris passed first and a few months later Chester. You've already reacted to LP's One More Light but you have to do the Jimmy Kimmel Live performance they had just found out about Chris I believe.
Oh man I didn't know he passed away damn and a great message in this song I have been battling can't spell anxiety disorder and depression for years and I'm still trying to find myself but music helps family pets and books you gotta keep trying and my husband helps too mental health is no joke this hits hard great video!
Fun fact; Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder came up together in the grunge scene and even shared time together in a band -- Temple of the Dog. ua-cam.com/video/VUb450Alpps/v-deo.html
Chris's voice and Tom's guitar alone would make this a great song. But give it up to Tim and Brad... those two make this song one of my all time favorites.
Also a video of them singing Linkin Park's Crawling.
And, You Call Me a Dog. So many good Temple of the Dog songs.
Dude thank you. Temple of the dog is so f****** underrated
Hunger strike is my favorite. With Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, voice is truly amazing 👏
Man I tell you... Black Pegasus is just climbing higher and higher in my eyes with these reactions. Finally audioslave and Shinedown and foo fighters 👍
his my age so i get it...although i listened to hip hp and rock and alternative...so go it all....dabbled in country later on.
Chris and Chester were good friends. Chris passed by suicide and Chester took his life shortly after, on Chris' Birthday.
I still cry often when listening to their music. To imagine what they were going thru while they brought so much happiness to the fans. It just to think about it. I hate we lost them.
Heartbreaking 💔
So they say….
Gone too soon
Or were “they” sending a message. Check out what they were collaborating/working on.
'Cochise' was their first single... Talk about a banger?!?
The Song!
The Video!
The Energy!
It's EVERYTHING you want and need in a Rock band! 🤘
FACTS!!!
I also loved watching them doing the concert live on the rooftop in NYC! I watch it every so often here on UA-cam. Absolutely amazing.
You can never go wrong with Audioslave. They're great together as a band or individually. Chris always battled depression and you can tell in some of his songs. But definitely more Audioslave and I recommend "Show me how to live" next because it would be a great transition from this song. It's also bada$$
His voice gives me chills every single time 😢 ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
EVERY TIME!!
Chris Cornell in my top 3 vocalist I love
Thanks so much for the Chris Cornell reactions. Greatest vocalist in the past 30 years in my humble opinion. Please check our Shadow On The Sun by Audioslave, phenomenal vocals and incredible lyrics. Thanks again
One of my favorite Audioslave song *I Am The Highway*
Duuuudeeeee that one and Getaway car are top of the tops
You need to listen to his songs on the band temple of the dog like Say Hello 2 Heaven , hunger Strike , or call me a dog and his songs on Soundgarden like Spoonman, They day i tried to live, Outshined, Rusty Cage and Burden in my hands
Audioslave are fantastic. Most of their songs are forever playlist.
I cried when Chris passed away. Way too soon. I really appreciate how you say what is on your mind and that you are being YOU. Thank you!
Cornell’s lyrics were always quite profound. There’s so much more for you to discover.

@@stefaniebrauer128 💔I feel ya. I couldn't listen to any of his music for a long time after.
Chris Cornell was also lead vocals for the band “Soundgarden”
and Temple of the Dog
And for his solo stuff
I mean Soundgarden is Chris Cornell! “Outshined” “ Black Hole Sun! They came out in 1980s and started Grunge with Alice In Chains Nirvana Pearl Jam ect. @@Bmorezoo74 pretty sure we all know that
Rusty Cage, Jesus Christ Pose, 4th of July, etc…etc…etc..
Chris Cornell GREAT voice Tom Morello Amazing guitars.....
I’m so glad you get what Chris was so good. It’s so sad that we lost him so early. He was so iconic and we are so lucky to have him for the time we did.
Chris Cornell had one of the best voices in history in my up opinion. RIP. So talented and gone way too soon.❤
The name Audioslave comes from the movie Vanishing Point. The radio station that the main character listens to, the DJ calls his listeners audioslaves. Great movie.
Chris Cornell was in another supergroup and you ought to check them out.
Band: Temple of a Dog
Songs: "Say Hello 2 Heaven" / "Hunger Strike"
Getaway car all time audioslave fav of mine.
Awesome reaction, brother! If you go down the Audioslave rabbit hole, you gotta check out Cochise, Shadow on the Sun, Doesn't Remind Me, Show Me How to Live, and Gasoline.
Anything Cris Cornell touched was gold
For real. He could do any cover even if it’s a classic most are scared to even cover but he can always pull it off
I would listen to Chris Cornell sing literally anything. I absolutely love his live acoustic cover of Billy Jean
Check out Chris in Temple of the Dog..."Say Hello 2 Heaven" 💚🤙🏼
So beautifully written and a voice like no other. I’m still so sad he’s gone.
Yesssssssss 🤍 RIP Chris🌻
Getaway car is one of my favorite songs by Audioslave. It isn’t as popular but I just love it.
Chris Cornell passed away first and then Chester, already struggling with his mental health before Chris's passing, passed a couple of months later. So sad 😞
Just the look on your face tells the story this song is deep and it touches you there....
Brad Wilk, same drummer
My favorite Audioslave song.
Cochise - official video! Their first release. Everything about it is FIRE!!! (No pun intended!) You'll get it when you see.
“There is truth and love until the end of time.” My favorite line of the song
Chris and Chester.....such a loss .... within such a short time
I hadn’t heard this song. It’s going on my playlist too.
Loving the reactions to Chris Cornell's library. Check out Audioslave's I am the Highway... Another classic song!! RIP Chris Cornell.
These lyrics are a lullaby for adults.
his voice is mesmerizing....one of my favorite!
THAT VOICE... THAT RANGE....THOSE EYES!
Audioslave is Rage Against the Machine with Chris Cornell
If you want to keep on the Audioslave train I highly recommend doing "Cochise" next so you can really see the power of this mans voice
I am the highway is phenomenal too
Chris Cornell and Timbaland have a song called “ Part Of Me “ that’s awesome!!! ❤😂
Great reaction, thanks BP.................one of your best to date imo.
Definitely check out "Show Me How To Live". Absolute banger.
It's cool you said perception. I always thought of this song as discussing the parallax of our society.
yes Chester sang at Cornell's funerals the song Hallelujah and made a tribute in a live show, he was deeply impacted by this loss
Chris was the most beautiful person I’ve ever met in person. I didn’t know him at all, I just met him. He was absolutely personable and sweet. Chris Cornell - "When I'm Down" - Troubadour And Chester and Chris Cornell - "Crawling live Pls!
Great Group 😊
"I Am The Highway" should be your next Audioslave track
Love the lyrics and guitar is fire. ❤ Chris' voice is so great. RIP Chris. 😢
Same drummer Brad Wilk (also of Rage Against the Machine/ Prophets of Rage)... as well as Tom Morello (guitar) and Timmy Commerford (bass) of RATM/ Prophets of Rage... Sage words from a dead man. Another of my heroes who left me here alone.
You more and more remind me of the times that my favorite radio DJ's were searching for new 45's in different stores for new releases, bootlegs and imports of (new) bands and artists. Next up for you should be "I Am the Highway" by Audioslave
Cochise, I am the Highway, and Show me how to live are mandatory!
Cornell’s words are up there with the best. The whole Supuerunknown album lyrics are some of the most rich.
I work taking emergency calls on the night shift in Australia.
This song is my first go to on the drive home.
Great reaction Pegasus, as always.
This was not one of my favorite Audioslave songs in the past because I thought the lyrics were too simple and a little cliche, but I come back to it with a new appreciation. Your reaction helped me look at it differently. So if you read this, thank you.
Mike Shinoda could have learned from Audioslave... naming their band something other than Linkin Park
Thank You for reacting to this song. Anything you react to from Chris is OK with me because it is all great to me. R.I.P Sweet Music Man.
Legit is one of my favorite lyrically. So juicy
Please also check out “I am the highway” by audioslave. It is another great song. I love this song, Chris Cornell was an amazing artist. His passing hurt my heart.❤️
Love his voice ❤
Every time I’m reminded of the incredible talent we lost when we lost Chris. 😞

My favourite Chris Cornell song. Thanks for reacting to this one, bro. It’s criminally under appreciated.

My fave Audioslave tune.
Great band .
Chris passed first and a few months later Chester. You've already reacted to LP's One More Light but you have to do the Jimmy Kimmel Live performance they had just found out about Chris I believe.
Straight back to college with this one. Love hearing stuff I forgot about.

You really should check out Chris Cornell from his band Soundgarden. Particularly "Jesus Christ pose" and "Rusty cage".
Phenomenal vocals.
This whole album is absolutely first rate!!! If you havent' done it already check out Life Is A Highway
Ive heard rhe voice almost sounds like Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam. Never heard of the band. But they are really good
Fun fact; Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder came up together in the grunge scene and even shared time together in a band -- Temple of the Dog. ua-cam.com/video/VUb450Alpps/v-deo.html
A good reason I'm just me...👈 Joy😊 and being i was born a libra ⚖ I put to practice balance so I can relate to these lyrics....great wisdom within fr
Chris was from the band Soundgarden
The suggested videos had Billy Corgan's face; So I'm gonna recommend that song. Smashing Pumpkins "1979"
Chris's voice and Tom's guitar alone would make this a great song. But give it up to Tim and Brad... those two make this song one of my all time favorites.
I need this album
Need some "Show Me How to Live" by Audioslave up in here, BP !!!! 👊
Yes, this is the Supergroup you get with Cornell and RATM. Check out Cochise and Show Me How To Live. Amazing songs.
Stories-brother Louie. Took me awhile to find it but got to see reaction
