I didn’t read all the comments, so I’m unsure if the following is common knowledge. There was about a year of anticipation for Audioslave. The rock station announced this song in advance, so it was like 11 am or something. I remember being at work with the radio on waiting for the release. It delivered in so many ways. Mind was blown. Every song on the album was a hit. Every single song.
yeah, i was a freshman in hs and saw this vid for the first time, and my jaw was on the floor the entire time! lol. i was the first of my friends to get the cd at the time cuz i just happened to catch this music vid the very first day it was released and literally went an got the cd the next day!
@@rosewishes2232 it was 2002. Soundgarden and rage against the machine were still popular and heard regularly on the radio. It had been a few years since we had heard anything from really anyone, layne staleys death was still pretty fresh. I you could only imagine the anticipation, but it was awesome. Memorable doesn’t quite explain it.
This one will always stick in my memory since it was the first music video i ever watched online. Couldn't tell you where online, but it was right when it came out. So a good 5 years pre-UA-cam. Such a killer track.
Holy freakin Cornell, what a voice! Holy freakin Morello, what a stomp haha! Fave song is Like A Stone but Cochise is up there. It's incredible!🤘 If you like the big drums you might like this, Nikki. Google "Halestorm she brought the big sticks" and be ready for a guest appearance you may recognize!🥁‼️😁
You should definitely check out Chris Cornell's cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U". It is recorded live at a radio station with just voice, acoustic guitars, and cello, and the sound and video quality are excellent. Great "unplugged" style performance, very emotional.
Awesome reaction and don't worry about going back on a awesome part of a song for review we all love it also. Sometimes it takes 1or 3 go backs 😊. Keep up the amazing work
As far as my personal favorite Audioslave songs, I'd rank this one as second. My first favorite is "I Am the Highway" but the radio version. I just got done rewatching the video for "Spoonman" by Soundgarden. It's such a cool video and a great song! I hope you still get to check out "Thunder Kiss '65" by White Zombie. ;)
Wow, I’ve not really listened to any Audioslave for a while, can’t remember this one but boy did it rock 🤘🏻; I always liked Chris Cornell strange I hadn’t heard this! Again a great analysis and reaction, nice to know what the lyrics were - they were a bit difficult to understand at times!
I have a half sleeve tattoo, of a lone highway going thru the desert, with a sun on one side, and a moon on the other.. there is lightning on the moon side, and other things you would see in the desert... a scorpion, a human skull, a longhorn skull, and a cactus... the moon says "No Regrets", in the craters on the crescent moon.... On either side of the road, leading to mountains in the distance, it says in Celtic calligraphy "I Am The Highway".. I hope you react to my "Lifesong".. Thank you..❤❤
Told ya! :D Glad you like it! First single and also the opening track on their first album, eponymously called Audioslave. What a way to introduce a band to the world! The whole album is massive! There's not one bad song on it. They released 3 albums: Audioslave, Out of Exile and Revelations. For me, the first album is their best work. Out of Exile was ok, Revelations didn't do much for me. As for their most famous song, Like a Stone would really be it.
Hello Nikki you need to give the video of Audioslave performing on the Late Show Marquee on the Ed Sullivan theater. It just happens to be their debut performance, with them playing 4 of their song's; 1) Set it Off 2) Gasoline 3) Like a Stone 4) Cochise Hope that You watch it and Enjoy it.
I love this band, can I put you on to another song I love? It's a different style of music. The two girls are called - Eli and fur. Check out this song by them it's called golden eyes and tears.
Best audioslave song ? Whichever one is playing man. I love to hear Chester scream too..... but I think Chris could probably scream better than anyone. Not this one but a lot of times it's like he's singing and screaming at same time. Especially early....say hello to heaven, slaves and bulldozers, jc pose.
Lady! If you're into drums you MUST react to Black Sabbath's War Pigs live. I don't know what Bill Ward's drums did to piss him off, but he beats them into oblivion. This version: ua-cam.com/video/K3b6SGoN6dA/v-deo.html
“Slaves And Bulldozers” has some of Chris’ most incredible Soundgarden vocals. In terms of singing he went way wild.
"beyond the wheel" the live version if you want to hear a song only Chris can sing ..
Goosebumps for real! Chris the vocal king of ROCK!!!
There are alot of really great vocalists...but Chris is absolutely up there...Bruce Dickenson, Rob Halford.......
I’ve watched this a million times, never seen the foot stomp. You are goat status
That's my fav part, where the bassists has his hands behind his back looking up and just stompin, so badass - dunno why

That must've been epic listening to this song at work! Was this in 2002 or 2001? How did people know Audioslave was a thing?

Gotta love the energy from this video. And happy early 4th of July with all the Pyrotechnics! 😂
Love this song, the introduction to Audioslave... Soundgarden... "Hands all over", you'll love it...
What you absolutely must watch is audioslave singing on the roof of the Ed Sullivan theater. You need to do a reaction on that immediately
I lovvveee an important rewind.
🤘
props to Tom Morello for writing that riff. That's such a tasty riff.
Like, how awesome is Chris Cornel?!!!!!!

Audioslave-exploder
One of my favorite videos ever! Great song. Listen to Soundgarden’s Jesus Christ Pose. Epic!!
Yeah, that's another one that was highly requested! I think the title sounds familiar. So I'll have to check it out soon. 🤔
GASOLINE video, GETAWAY CAR is my favorite song on the album.
