I just was going to say the same, Prince is almost untouchable. But Chris and Sinead gave this song different lives in different ways. If I’m not mistaken, this was either the last or one of the last things Chris ever did. It still makes me cry. Because they were thinking of someone they loved in a complicated way in their own way.
Love Chris. He was the voice of a generation. He was the lead singer for Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave. He did several solo projects and songs for several soundtracks. I hope you continue listening to more. I don't think you'd be disappointed. Chris and Chester Bennington from Linkin Park were good friends, you should check out Linkin Parks performance of One More Light on the Jimmy Kimmel show, they dedicated it to Chris right after his passing. Chester passed two months later on Chris's birthday. Both gone way to soon.
What's the history of temple of the dog? I heard it was like the members of mother love bone and pearl jam both got together with chris cornell and formed the band as like tribute for Andrew the lead singer of mother love bone who died. Is this true?
‘Legend!! You have to check on him covering Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’. It’s like Chris sang it first and then MJ did the retake/remix of it. It’s amazing.
I rescued 2 feral kittens a few years back and the day I caught them was May 17th. I named the female kitten Josephine (after Chris' song) and the little boy is Chester. They are still living with me today
They were murdered because of the work they were doing helping children and they were making a documentary about child trafficking. Tony podesta is Chester's father. quit being sheep
Isn't that ironic?? No pun intended for sure... I heard a story about why they both died..., not sure if it's true, but I believe it. What a waste of such beautiful souls!!!😢 I love this song though. It hurts to hear it but I love the pain I guess 😢
I only ever knew Sinead O Connor's cover as a child, but as soon as I heard Chris's cover, it instantly became my favorite version!! Chris has one of my all time favorite voices!!! I miss this man more than words can say!
This has been my #1 band since’93 .. Chris Cornell has such a richness to his voice. Sucks you right in the moment he starts to sing. I fell apart at the news of his passing. 🥺 Miss you always, Chris ❤
Billie Jean, Say Hello to Heaven, Like a Stone, Black Hole Sun, I Will Always Love You, Show Me How to Live, Hunger Strike and too many more to list!! ALL BANGERS!!! This man was incredibly talented and did some of the best covers I have ever heard. You have to react to Billy Jean….mind blowing 💯
His version of Billie Jean is so phenomenal that the first time I heard it, I replayed it 4X in a row. Taking a Michael Jackson song then putting it in a minor key was just beilkiant! I’m extremely partial to the studio version though, haven’t found a live performance of it that does justice to what he was able to do in studio
Seasons, When I'm Down, Beyond The Wheel, The Keeper, Cleaning My Gun, Slaves and Buldozers, Call Me A Dog, Scar On The Sky, Nothing To Say, Preaching The End Of The World, Fresh Deadly Roses, etc, etc, etc.. The man was ridiculoulsy dope
@@OhSnakesI love Preaching the End of the World and no one ever mentions that song! I been listening to Chris since Badmotorfinger came out when I was in high school. Loved Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Chris Cornell solo and Audioslave. He also sang on a song with Alice In Chains on the album Sap.
I saw the notification when you posted this but it took me a day to actually watch it because his voice rips my heart to shreds 😢he was so good and is sooo missed ❤
Written by the late great Prince ❤ Made famous by Sinead O'Connor ❤❤ Hearts & Souls touched by Chris Cornell ❤❤❤ *RIP* Prince, Sinead O'Connor, & Chris Cornell* ❤❤❤❤
Chris was the front man for Temple of the Dog in the very early 90's, and "Say Hello to Heaven" is the song that truly embodies his 4 octave vocal range. The song was written for Andrew Wood, lead singer of Mother Love Bone, who tragically overdosed and passed. This was the very beginning of the grunge explosion. Temple of the Dog was composed of members from both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, two of the greatest rock groups of all time.
Best version on this song and RIP Chris Cornell. Truly one of the best voices ive ever heard honestly and he does it so effortless it seems . Its just amazing.
First time hearing Chris Cornell and I have to say..... WOW! I'll even say it backwards.... WOW! What an amazing, rich voice and I absolutely agree with you that the guy had SOUL. Thank you so much for bring this and exposing me to it. AND as always.... Great Reaction BP! You are the best.
As a gen xer I've been here for every incarnation of this iconic song. The Family, Prince, Sinead and Chris. Every one perfect. His voice is untouchable.
Nothing but love, appreciation, respect for Chris. I truly hope he finally found peace. 🙏🙏🙏 One of the all time great voices! Love this cover too, but Sinead still did it better.
There is a duet of Chris and his daughter singing redemption song- it’s beautiful and I think you’d enjoy it as you talk about being a dad often:) it will undoubtedly touch your heart
BP you should react to his cover of "Billie Jean" the way he re-arranges and makes it his own. I think you would really enjoy it. Chris is my favorite of all time for male vocalist. He is awesome.
You have to watch two live videos, Linkin Park doing Crawling where Chris comes out and performs with them, and also Chris doing Hunger Strike where Chester comes out and performs with him. Its sad and beautiful
The note Chris hits so effortlessly as he walks out in that performance while Chester's veins are straining out of his neck, no shade intended towards Chester there btw, is unbelievable.
@jamiemacdonald6899 Literally what I said on that video years ago when I commented. Chris is sleeping and out singing Chester who's about to have an aneurysm. Chris wasn't human
Check out, say hello to Heaven from Temple of the dog, which is also Chris Cornell lead singing for another emotional one. If you just want to see a straight up hard, rock tune, check out outshined, or Rusty Cage by Soundgarden, which is the band that Chris Cornell is most known for.
🥰Beautiful reaction! Chris was on a whole other level when it came to singing... he isn't known as "the voice" of a generation for nothing!!😜❤ Anyway, to help you a bit as you embark on a Chris Cornell journey it is important for you to know Chris was the founder, lead singer and lyricist for 3 HUGE bands in the Grunge, Rock and Alternative Rock genres here's his bands... 1.) AUDIOSLAVE Looking forward to seeing you experience the beauty and greatness of Chris' catalogue. Peace and light...✌💞 EDIT: Chris also has an extensive solo catalogue (this song is part of his solo endeavor). Another great one from his solo stuff is his cover of MJ's "BILLIE JEAN"... it's the same song, same lyrics but sung with a whole different affect... you will have the chills (in the best possible way😁)!!!
Cried hard when I heard Chris was gone. 1994 Big Day Out was my first Soundgarden experience. Wasn't my only one and his Songbook gigs were like sitting in his lounge room. He was awesome
He was the love of my life as far as rock stars go. I miss his voice. I wanted more. He would have been there he same age of my husband.he was a beautiful soul!
Right!?!?!?!!!!!! I still get chills and its happening now!!!!! Mmmmmm..... So good! You want more of these acoustic versions of music he loved to perform ✌️💙🎵
Prince wrote this song. Sinbad O'Connor did a version in the 90's. I saw Chris Cornell with his band Soundgarden while shooting photos of their show. It was amazing. He passed away a couple months later.
The songs Chris covered were pretty much his, the way he changed them seem like they would completely new, this one is a great example, Prince wrote it but Sinead O'Connor made it a big hit in the late 80s but Chris came n took it n turned it into a masterpiece. Chris also covered Patience (Guns n Roses song), Billie Jean (Michael Jackson's hit) n others n every single time he knocked it out of the park. This world wasn't enough for Chris. Incredible talent, forever will be missed. Great reaction dude
This is an acoustic grunge cover. He hailed from the Pacific Northwest - Seattle, Washington. I grew up 3 hours south from there, near Portland, Oregon. I feel so lucky to have had this music saturating my teenage years. Chris would often visit the alt-rock station I always listened to when he was in town. Loved those acoustic sets he did then. ❤😁
And I get how you hear country. To me it's a acoustic southern rock sound. Which is basically heavier countryesque sound and with edgier vocals. Also elements of blues are used in southern rock.
One of the most talented vocalists to ever have walked this earth! He was Grunge/Rock but sadly the black dog got ahold of him and then his best mate Chester took his life on Chris Birthday. Two incredible vocalists who did things no one else could even attempt with their voices. The most talented are usually the most tormented souls sadly, that’s what makes them incredible
Love Chris Cornell.thanks for shining some light on him.yes hes passed away.it was in a similar time frame to Chester from Linkin Park.Chris's cover of GnR's 'Patient ' is amazing also.
Chris Cornell is one of the single most amazing voices in rock. (Or any genre) Check out his work with Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and his solo stuff. Prince wrote this. Sinead O'Conner made it famous with her version in 1990. Check out her's when you get a chance. She will blow you away. Her vocals are fantastic.
I think you'd definitely love his solo work When I'm Down. Probably one of the best examples of what he was capable of. Just him and a guy named Dennis playing piano. More like a bluesy piano lounge act. Live at the troubadour. I saw him perform that song at hangout music fest in 2012. Instead of having a piano onstage he brought a VINYL recording of the piano and played it on a record player. Probably 30-40 thousand people on the beach. Just him and his guitar and the record player. Of course it was at sunset too. Never would have imagined we'd lose him less than 5 years later. Life is beautiful. Life is sad. Life is crazy. Life is wonderful. Just try to leave things better than they were before. I think Chris definitely did that .
Hie has such an amazing voice, his daughter is also an amazing singer. there is a vid of him calling her out on stage and singing with him, as a dad it just hits you seeing a daughter father share a passion. yes Sound Garden, Audio Slave, solo... all fantastic
I was a teen growing up in the Seattle area in the late 80’s early 90’s and from the time Soundgarden broke out it was obvious Chris had a golden voice and it only got better as the years moved along. The day the news came of his passing was a punch to the gut, “no one sings like you anymore” RIP Chris
This is unanimously known as one of the greatest covers of all time. Chris truly made it his own.
You know it’s an all time great song when Prince is the 3rd best version of a Prince song
Prince could write some powerful songs, this is an excellent example.
Chris doesn’t fit one genre because he was a multitalented artist. My favorite ever. Thank you. And thank you Chris for everything. ♥️

Don’t forget Layne Staley and Andrew Wood too!
Weren't they collaborating on exposing the cabal/Illuminati/trafficking in Pedowood when they died? 🤔
What's the history of temple of the dog? I heard it was like the members of mother love bone and pearl jam both got together with chris cornell and formed the band as like tribute for Andrew the lead singer of mother love bone who died. Is this true?
Oh Chris. The best thing to happen to vocals. One of the greats as a singer and a human. Miss him so much ❤️🔥💔
The best Chris Cornell solo is his cover of his own Soundgarden song Fell On Black Days (Siriusxm). Absolutely incredible.
Almost forgot my broken heart and Fell on Black Days on this sirius gig are just other worldly..

He’s got an awesome cover of Metallica’s One!

I second that!
What a sad day it was when he passed away 😢. One of the greatest rock voices of all time. RIP Chris. We miss you.
One of the very few times I've ever cried for someone's passing that I didn't personally know, immediately once learning of their passing.
He does a great cover of "Billy Jean" plus he was in temple of the dog , they did a great album
Salute Prince, Chris, Sinead...Rest in Peace
Yeah, kind of crazy how they are all gone. Prince gave it to Sinead, but I'm glad Chris did this amazing version too! ❤
Yeah 👍 he was 52 when he passed away.... 2 months later Chester died on Chris's birthday.
I rescued 2 feral kittens a few years back and the day I caught them was May 17th. I named the female kitten Josephine (after Chris' song) and the little boy is Chester. They are still living with me today
His cover of Billy Jean is outstanding
Chester killed himself because of Cornells death, he became too depressed.
They were murdered because of the work they were doing helping children and they were making a documentary about child trafficking. Tony podesta is Chester's father. quit being sheep
