If you need to learn more about it first, then follow along with our video. It will show you everything you need to know about TCA peels.
Today I am going to talk about and demonstrate how to properly do a TCA peel. I am going to address what TCA is good for, which percentage to choose, proper application procedure, how many layers to apply, What to expect immediately afterwards, skin needling, after care and also some alternative methods such as a full face peel + CROSS and also layering TCA with other acids. That’s a lot to cover, so lets get started shall we?
First, why TCA?
TCA or trichloroacetic acid, is one of my favorite acids ever. It is great for just about everything, Acne, hyperpigmentation and melasma, wrinkles, and scarring to mention a few.
What makes it so special is the fact that it can be customized for your skin. Unlike hydroxy acids that can only be applied one time and then get rinsed - TCA can be applied in layers.
It can be a mild peel (with only 1 or 2 layers or a very light application) or it can become a very strong peel if we apply the acid heavier or add on more layers. All these options with the same bottle. See the benefit?
How do you prepare for a TCA peel?
You always want to prepare your skin for a TCA peel. We want your skin to be healthy and exfoliated before we apply an acid. Also, if you have more melanin rich skin, we want you to prepare with a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright for at least 2 weeks prior to a TCA peel. This will help to avoid Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. Nothing is ever 100% - but this helps immensely.
The perfect product to prepare your skin with is our Retinol Molecular Serum every evening to even out the skin. I suggest the .20% for most people or the .10% if you are very sensitive. www.platinumskincare.com/reti...|_Detailed_FAQ_|_Post_&_Prep_|_Layering_|_CROSS
*If you have prescription Tretinoin that is great too! Another alternative would be an acid serum like our Serum 15 or Serum 30. What we DON’T want you doing to exfoliate is face scrubs. When you use a scrub you will press harder in some areas and get an uneven texture. Leave the smoothing to an acid or vitamin A instead.
Then daily protect your skin with antioxidants such as Vitamin C and always wear a broad screen SPF of at least 30 and*preferably 40 or 50.
If you have pigmentation or darker skin, don’t forget to use the Fade Bright 2x per day along with the above mentioned items. This is SO important. www.platinumskincare.com/fade...|_Detailed_FAQ_|_Post_&_Prep_|_Layering_|_CROSS
Which percentage of TCA should I use?
We have 4 percentages of TCA. 7%, 13%, 20% and 30%. We recommend the 7% for those that have extreme sensitivity or want to do the eye area. *See our Eye Peel Video for an explanation and application.
The 13% is generally the best place to start - and that is what I am going to apply today. Once you reach a point where you are applying 5 layers of the 13% regularly and want MORE action, then you can move up to the 20% we carry. The 30% is only for body usage, scar treatment or dilution.

These products have changed my life! I had been feeling so sorry for myself due to my melasma. Now, however, I can confidently say that I haven't worn foundation in almost 2 months. Thank you!🌻❤
That is SUPER!!!! I’m so happy to hear that it’s faded so well. Never forget spf 50 so you can keep it that way.
@@PlatinumSkinCare hi, I have a question. I have darker skin ( brown) and what to know what should i use for prep before a tca peel specifically under the eyes? thank you
@@richmind5867 Hello. Anyone with ethnic skin should prep with a melanin inhibitor like our Fade Bright, or a HQ or alpha arbutin product, for 3-4 weeks prior to a TCA peel. Always start with a lower percentage of acid as well to help avoid PIH. See this video here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/ TCA 7 for eyes and 7-13 for face.

@@RockeyToes Thank you!
You are so informative and pleasant to listen to. I could watch these all day! Lol
Wow, thank you! Love to hear that.
The great thing about the TCA peels is that they are the EXACT SAME quality as a fancy MedSpa. I used the TCA 20% on my lips (3 passes waiting 5min between each) for some fordyce spots (white clogged pore/bumps) on my lips, it did a great job in making them less noticeable (75% improvement). Since I purchased two bottles i just figured I’d do my whole face since I was taking 6 days off of work anyways. The TCA 20% removed age spots from my cheeks, it eradicated fine lines under my eyes and it gave me a healthy glow. Platinum Skin Care is FABULOUS! Thank you !
They are indeed! Caution and always start with the 13% TCA or even 7% if you have very sensitive skin. *I just want to state that for anyone else reading here. :)

Thank you SO much! That is our goal for sure.
You are an absolute legend. Thank you for what you do. ❤
I appreciate that!!! :)
I adore Platinum. These vids are a great reason - every time I do a peel I always come back to rewatch everything. It's kind of exciting. I just did another Platinum 20%TCA and am in bed with fresh pillowcases ready for bed. My routine is to peel and protect my skin - then just clean, hydrate, occlude and change pillowcases every day until peeling finishes - then I get onto the copper peptides. I tried almost all the Platinum CPs, (including the SuperCop 2nd gen etc), but I get the best results by adding a few drops of the 7% accelerator (1st gen) to my basic serums and moisturisers. This brand offers proper results and I really appreciate having these strengths available, with the vids to ensure correct use. Well done and thank you again.
Thank you so much!!! Love that you can go back to them again and again and learn more. More to come!!!
Before you apply your peel. What did you prep your face with 2 weeks prior to your first chemical peel?
@@blueberry-vw3vk It's not that intense. I used tretinoin (0.05%) daily and used salycilic 2% and/or glycolic 8% every few days. That's just baseline normal prep. If you haven't done a peel yet, then I suggest starting by deciding on a time when you can be low-profile for at least 3 days. First day after peel day, you'll look normal. Second day, normal but with uncomfortable tightness and peeling. Third day, monster - just don't go out. Fourth day, still a monster but peeling is manageable. DO NOT rush the peeling and flaking days. If you do, you'll get scars. Three to four days of suffering, but months of great skin after.
I’ve been binging on TCA peels on YT and this video was the one to convince me to try it. Thank u 🙏

This was a really well put together video. Thank you so much!
To all of you commentors... You guys really need to learn, research, find out everything about a treatment before you do it. Lots of you are coming here after the fact, or asking questions that were very clearly covered in the video. 🤦♀️
This is no regular face mask. This is a real acid.
I highly suggest watching some dermatologists and estheticians on UA-cam like this lovely lady I just found, or Cassandra Bankson, Dr. Dray, lab muffin beauty science, Dr. Lim, there's tons of good ones. Don't even start with peels, learn your ingredients, turn n' learn your products. If you love your skin, do it a favor and learn about it, how it works... Do you know how many days it takes for your skin cells to turn over on your face? Do you know if cetearyl alcohol is a drying or hydrating alcohol? Do you know the ingredients that you shouldn't mix together? Like retinol with vitamin C? Or how hyaluronic acid works better when your face is a little moist.

Hello. Ok, wonderful. I want to be sure that you are starting with a MILDER TCA though???? You have a Fitzpatrick 4+ and you will need to PREP with a melanin inhibitor for about 4 weeks. Then, after your peel be sure to AVOID the sun and use SPF 50+ if you are exposed for any amount of time. :)
I suggest no more than a TCA 20 at 1 or 2 layers to start. *Remember as well the body peels much more slowly than the face.
Jessners is an excellent option for body and face pigmentation.

@@PlatinumSkinCare Good to know! Thanks! My freckles and sun damage has substantially lightened. I've spent thousands of $$ on IPL treatments in the past, this peel is just as effective!
@@RockeyToes Oh! Awesome to hear this.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for your videos! I have done 3 peels 2 weeks apart. I only did 2 layers each time. How many peels should I do consecutively? Should I stop at 3 and not do anymore for a certain amount of time? My skin is pretty even toned but I have some light sun spots and a few small chicken pox scars.
We recommend a peel series of 6-8 in a row. Then take a look and decide how you want to move forward. You might take a break - or do another series with a different acid or percentage.
This video is tremendously helpful!

Thank you so much for sharing. We have a wonderful TCA Eye Peel Video here: www.platinumskincare.com/eye-peel-intense-restoration-kit/
Hi, Jen. I LOVE your educational videos! If I've worked up to 5 layers of the 7% TCA peel around the eyes, is it okay to move up to the 13%?
Loretta Peters Martin yes absolutely. That would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Remember to keep your peeling to 1x per month on the eye area. :)
Thank you! @@PlatinumSkinCare
Loretta Peters Martin you are very welcome.
This is very informative, the presentation is very easy to understand and very helpful. Thank you, you are beautiful.
So glad this tutorial was what you needed. Happy to help
thanks for the info. Im going to start the 20% TCA...excellent presentation...
I highly suggest that you rethink that: 1. because of your skintone. It's too aggressive as a beginner peel. 2. because this is very strong and we suggest beginning with the 13% at 1-2 layers only. Then build up in layers until you reach 5. If you want more than that you can move UP to the TCA 20. Your skin will require 2-3 week prep with melanin inhibitors as well. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/
I need to use this on my underarms and inner thighs! They are pretty dark and the rest of my body is fair!
You can absolutely do that. I suggest pre-treating with Fade Bright 2x per day for at least 2 weeks prior to applying your peel. It will help all on it's own - and then the peel will take you to the next level. Expect to do a peel series - depending on how deep the pigmentation is. A peel series is 6-8 peels average.
What is the after care for the days following TCA peel? I know to use Luminosty til flaking starts (then stop using it), but what else should I be putting on my face daily?
Emu Oil or a Healing Oil is a must....also a sunscreen if you are out and about.

@@PlatinumSkinCare I have a question, if I were to buy the 30% Would that work as a Tca cross or would it still be a peel

Well super! Hopefully with daily products like Fade Bright and retinol and SPF 50 of course.... then things like TCA or other peels, you will get that all brightened up and looking amazing. It just takes some time.
For African American skin, how far apart should I separate a 30% tca peel ( cross method) for pitted acne scars, and a 13% peel (for my entire)? I would like to treat my scars first, then do an overall application I'm just not sure how far I should wait between treatments. Thanks for the helpful video!
mixdbeautea you will only do the cross one time every 5 weeks. For the face peel at 13%, you can do that 1-2x per month. It depends on how many layers.
Make sure to pre treat with Fade Bright for 2 weeks. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
Tip: May want to use gloves. It can peel your fingers and make them super-sensitive!
awarenessvillage you may wear gloves if you wish. Not a problem. I prefer not to.
she doesn't actually put the acid lol, she didn't even gone red and with no gloves LOL you'd burn down
@@iwaisttrain1047 Not true at all. I am assuming that you have never applied a TCA peel before - OR... that you applied something in a strength that should not be sold over the counter???
**My face certainly felt otherwise! Watch the TCA body video where I apply TCA 30 to my arms. They don't get red at all. The body has very thick skin *fingers exceptionally thick. NOW... if I put THAT on my face... YOWCH and I believe it would turn pink and then white. This is a milder percentage of 13%. Perfectly fine. Did my fingers peel... YEP. They always do and it doesn't bother me at all.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I did 25% peel on my tummy and breasts and left it for minute and a half and I got horrible burns that lasted for months. I cannot imagine someone actually put themselves at a risk and this nonchalantly touch the high % acid with no gloves and close to the eyes. You should put a disclaimer and warn people not to do same just for the security. Nothing bad if this was mock filmed same as the ads we see on TV, but does not seem you got acid at all on your face.
@@iwaisttrain1047 You do realize that we are a chemical peel manufacturer and these videos (over 100) are all filmed with detailed instructions as I walk you through the process of applying these acids correctly? I am not sure that you watched the video fully to be making comments such as these. You can clearly see the frosting and erythema on my skin. Insinuating that I am not applying it is just being rude.
I am going to "assume" that the "25% tca" that you state you applied was NOT indeed that percentage. I can guarantee you, that if you received "burns" after 1 minute that this acid was not what you thought you purchased. That there ... is why you need to purchase something CERTIFIED from an actual manufacturer of a product. The acids available on ebay and amazon are NOT safe - NOR are they guaranteed to be the actual acid, percentage or pH level. Use caution with your body and face. Understand what you are doing prior to applying and learn how to care for your skin afterwards.
If you received PIH discoloration - very different from a burn/scar - because you did not prep ethnic skin properly, then that is something that you need to look into for any future peels. Anyone can get PIH after a stronger peel. You need to prep with a melanin inhibitor to help avoid this from happening. Learn about peeling on ethnic/medium skin tones here; ua-cam.com/video/oCkWVuF79Ys/v-deo.html Also... learn about PIH and what happens when you do not prep properly here: ua-cam.com/video/-BbBMrQwmT0/v-deo.html You can also learn which products to treat this.
Wow you are the best, thank you for this professional advice.
You are so welcome. That's what I am here for.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I actually have a question - can I use vitamin E oil after the last 5 minutes of the final layer process has passed? or Niacimide or rose hip oil? Will one if these be ok, i don't want to use emu oil. Also, is it okay to do another TCA peel 3 weeks after a peel with 3 layers of 15%? My skin did very well, it only frosted in one area - which peeled the fastest and best lol, so maybe next time I could try a 4th layer.
ris si you may use your favorite healing products. That’s not an issue at all. 3-4 weeks for a Tca multi layered peel is average.
Platinum Skin Care thanks again🌟🙏🏼

Thank you so much!
So I’m dark should I use the 20% or 30% for my body? And how do I use it? Do I mix it in with liquid soap ?
Nessa Nessa I suggest prepping with Fade Bright or another melanin inhibitor for 2 weeks. Then the 20% would be best for you to start off with. Try about 2 layers.

Maria Stafford you are welcome. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you! I just used your TCA 13% for the first time (two layers). You mention using Luminosity to speed up peeling. Can I use a tretinoin cream instead (I already have one)
Thank you
The only issue with tretinoin is that it is acid. Acid can be irritating on freshly peeled skin. Our Lumonisity is a retinol. Retinol does not convert into tretinoin until it is deep in the skin - therefore, no irritation. You may of course try to use it. As always, if it is irritating, rinse and try again in a few days.

Is there anything I can’t use on the day of?
Not really. The only thing would generally be retinoids IF they cause you sensitivity.
Can TCA be applied on cystic acne? My skin is now clear and I'm looking to improve the condition of old acne scarring, I was looking to do my first TA peel tonight but developed 1 cystic acne yesterday. Meh.
P absolutely it can. Cystic acne is deep in the skin. This is not going to harm anything and most likely - it will help to heal that much more quickly. Another great item to heal cystic pimples quickly is Regenerate EGF serum. The growth factors will shrink it quickly.
Hi Jennifer! I noticed you said for men not to shave before doing a TCA peel.. Is it safe to dermaplane berfore a TCA peel or should that be avoided?
Armani don’t shave or dermaplane immediately prior to a peel. Wait 24 hours. Both methods are removing skin and we don’t want to exfoliate immediately prior to any peel.
@@PlatinumSkinCare gotcha! Ty! another question. With the luminosity syringe can you explain that to me again. you can apply directly after TCA correct? Do you continue applying it each day until syringe is empty?
@@armani9599 Yes, please apply immediately after rinsing your peel off and drying the skin. Then you can apply it for the next few days or so .. until the skin really starts flaking. Then you can stop and keep the cream for a future use or continue using until the syringe is gone.

Thank you, your videos are so informative. I feel confident that I can do this. I'm going to order from you soon.
I have been using Ambi Fade Cream for 2 weeks and will continue until I receive my products from you. Is that a pre peel cream you would recommend?
As long as it has hydroquinone or alpha arbutin in it, it should be fine. If not, our Fade Bright is excellent for that. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
Hello, I will like to buy the TCA 20% and dilute some down to 15%, how do I go about this?
You would do 3 parts 20% TCA + 1 part water to get a 15% TCA.
Hi! Great video ! Thank you! When should i do the peeling? Will day 1-3 will show flaking? If i peel on Wednesday, could i go to work as usual? Cause i dont want any stupid questions at work 😎
The Astrid hello. If you are going to be applying a Tca Peel, it will take about 3 days before you see any flaking at all. Generally it starts around the nose and mouth area and radiates outwards. The flaking will happen from that point on. It usually takes about 3-5 more days to be completely gone.
Try to schedule this around your days off. If you have weekends off, do your peel on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening so the flaking happens mostly on the weekend. Then you are looking darn good when Monday rolls around.
First some just do one layer. You will get very light manageable flaking. Next time you will be able to add more layers on.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Thank you!! 😘
Great video. Will this treatment help with Actinic Keratosis? Thanks!
Yes, indeed. This is a common at-home treatment for that. Make sure to get it checked out by a doctor first to rule out any issues.
Hello Jennifer ! Awsome video. I almost watched all you videos, so informative and educational. But I am not sure about the frosting though. I have already done. 10% just one layer a couple of weeks ago, and I want to try with more layers but I didn’t really understand if I have to apply the other layers only on the skin with no frosting or all over the face and neck?
Thanks a lot for this video and stay safe
Yes, you will only apply additional layers of peel over unfrosted areas if you have a partial frost.
Platinum Skin Care
Oh thank you so much for the quick answer. So if all my face frosts I can’t go with another layer ?
A couple of questions...are the peels cumulative? As in the more I do, the better my results are. Does TCA stimulate collagen? Great video keep them coming! 🧡
Absolutely they are cumulative. We want you to start off with a peel Series - which is 8 peels. You will see immense improvements by this time. Moving forward will always bring more positive changes. Yes, TCA is a actually PROVEN to stimulate collagen. We have the study notated on our TCA page here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
Platinum Skin Care thank you so much for your response! Can’t wait to get started!
@@shellabella8625 You are VERY welcome.
You mentioned you would need aprox 8 peels to start seeing really good results... If I do one a month for 8 months, I'm currently on month 5 and doing 5 layers 13% - what do you recommend (after you've had 8 peels) as part of your facial beauty routine? do you suggest continuing 1x per month on-going or how often to get best benefits once you've completed the initial 8 peels do you recommend per month/year etc? thanks!
You don't have to keep doing a monthly peel. You can cut back and just do one every few months or so. Keep yourself happy. Use Retinol or an acid serum daily to keep things looking great in between peels.
Hey, did you noticed results by now?
@@eryana1492I was wondering the same thing..
I put tca 30 percent at the back of my knee for 2 minutes then neutralize with water to lighten my dark spots but it was so itchy and it became more darker.
Did you pre treat for 2 weeks with Fade Bright? It is common for the area to darken prior to peeling. Keep the skin moisturized with Emu Oil or our Healing Oil. If you have Fade Bright, start using that one time per day on the dark area.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thanks, I'll buy fade bright then
I love your video so much❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍
I am so happy it was helpful for you ! Thank you for your wonderful comment. xoxo
Hi! I want to try your products and have watched a ton of your videos. Will the 5ml tca 13% allow me to do more than 1 layer? Thanks for making these informative videos
Also, is it ok to use jojoba oil or vit e oil in place of the emu oil?
Shawny V absolutely to both. The 5ml bottle is enough to do about 4-6 peels at 1 layer. So it will just depend on how much you apply and how many layers. I can usually get 2 peels out of a bottle with 2 layers or so each time. Remember to reuse your gauze pad so you don’t have to completely rewet every time.
You can use any healing oils or creams you love. No worries.
Platinum Skin Care Wow! Quick response. Ok one more question, how long would the trial size fade bright last if using as a pre and post peel treatment?
The trial size of Fade Bright might last 1 week if using 2x per day. It is basically just a size to make sure you don't have any allergies or skin irritations. Not necessarily to get results.
Platinum Skin Care Thanks so much for replying so quickly. I appreciate your time and expertise.
You are very welcome. Happy to help.
is it okay to use between the month of micro needling? like 15 days after micro needling? Thanks
Hello. We generally recommend that you wait 1 week inbetween treatments *whether that is needling or peeling. Give your skin time to heal before doing a new treatment.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thank you for sharing your knowledge :)
@@papatootchoyschannel419 You are welcome! Always glad to help.
Am I able to use Hydroquinone cream instead of the Fade bright? thanks!
Hello. Absolutely you can.
I am an 18 year old east Asian. I accidentally damaged my skin (only on my upper cheek area which is a little closer to my eyes) due to a harsh product which is also not compatible to my skin, as a result it weakened my skin and my skin lost flexibility. I wanted to use TCA peel to undo the damage, so I can grow a new skin cell. I have used the 13 percent TCA peel. It took like 2 weeks to peel but when I saw the results, it looked worse, it gave me a very visible eye bag. I think because I have sensitive skin and mild oily skin since I live in a warm country. I also think the TCA peel works mostly with people with dry skin and with people with matured skin. My skin is a little thin and mildly oily as the affected area was between my eye bag and my cheeks.
I am unsure of what you mean by your skin losing its flexibility. Is there a scar you are trying to treat? *I am not sure what you originally used.... but, that could be a possibility. If you are dealing with scar tissues - I would take a look at the Super CP Serum and maybe a topical daily acid instead like the Serum 15. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/serum-15-serum-30-glycolic-mandelic-phytic-c/
www.platinumskincare.com/copper-super-cp-serum/
TCA works no matter if you have oily or dry skin. *The oilier your skin the more you have to strip as the oils protect the skin and slow the acid. An "eye bag" could just be because your skin was inflammed and you had some swelling. I do not know how WET this 13 was applied, or how many layers you applied. Too deep can cause inflammation. Start with 1 layer and next time do 2. Don't rush. Feel free to email photos to support@platinumskincare.com so we can know more. :)
Hey there any updates on your eye bags? my eye bags (tired eyes) also seem to have gotten worse after the peel.
Hi! Can I apply my second TCA peel 2 weeks after I applied my first one or 2 weeks after I stopped peeling?
Samantha Shepherd two weeks after you applied the acid. Make sure you are 100% done flaking first.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thank you!
Samantha Shepherd you are welcome.
I need to do this on my knees.
Faith W. Yes, you can definitely do that. I suggest prepping them for a couple weeks with the Triple Treat Body Lotion to remove some of the skin. And Fade Bright to lessen melanin.
I really like your videos. I watch them all the time.its very informative and detailed but all your videos is about tca peel is body peel, face peel and hand peel. I was looking for a video of tca peel on feet but couldn’t find one.
Ah yes. I don't have one -- as of yet. You can certainly do that though. You can also see some photos of our customer that HAVE done this on our TCA page. www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/
Wow, great information. Im looking to do this to my skin, and lighten acne scarring and have a smoother skin.
I'm gonna buy 25% and do two layers. 😊😊 Thanks for the info
Hello. 25% is way to strong to start off using. Please dilute that in 1/2 and start with about 2 layers. Work up in layers until you get to 5.
@@PlatinumSkinCare okay, thank you so much! 💖💖
It's because where I live, Brazil, I am finding only the 25% on the lowest percentage, but I'll try to dilute it
@@lillymarcarini3768 Yes, that's ok....just dilute it with bottled water and you can do about 2-3 layers your first time. Work up in layers each time you do another peel. 1x a month is good.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thank you so much
I had a TCA 25% that made my skin black
You could have been dealing with PIH post inflammatory hyperpigmentation ... where the acid was strong and caused inflammation in the skin. Then the skin can darken - just like after a pimple inflammation. I would start using a melanin inhibitor 2x per day like the Fade Bright: www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
Do we need to use a neutralizer with a tca peel?
The Lion and Lioness no you do not. Tca is a self neutralizing acid. Watch this video here on neutralizing www.platinumskincare.com/neutralizing-acids-tca-hydroxy-acids/
I am still researching tca peels, and have ordered 20% Though after reading the comments, I am going to hold off on 20% and start around 13%. Tca does self neutralize, though I'm making a baking soda/water neutralizer, in case I feel like I need to stop the reaction. I think it's a good precaution for us diy ppls:)
@@tara921 No need to make that neutralizer. See this video:ua-cam.com/video/j3yhHkEmO0w/v-deo.html
You can't stop the reaction. You CAN rinse off the excess acid so that it does not penetrate and start working - but you can't stop the acid that is already in your skin. It will self neutralize in a few minutes.
Only have 7 15 20 30? Because i found also have TCA 15% does its right product from TCA?
@@tara921 I disagree that you don't need a neutralizer. I've done 5 peels and have tried both, NOT neutralizing vs. NEUTRALIZING. I found that splashing on baking soda water instead of plain water most certainly DOES eliminate the burning faster!!
hello! i was wondering about after care, do i wash my face at all throughout the peeling process, if so should i use my dove sensitive skin soap or my kojic acid soap bar or cerave moisturizing cleanser? and also how long should i leave it on before i rinse with cold water ?
Hello. Definitely wash your face 2x per day as usual. Then follow with a healing oil or product. Which cleanser you use is up to you. *If it is burning/irritating.. find a different one.
Hello! What exactly does fade bright do? And how do I know if I’m dark enough to need it?
Hello. Fade Bright is a melanin inhibitor. If you have olive or darker skin you are more prone to getting PIH*. *Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation after skin traumas. Bug bite = brown spot? Pimple = brown spot? etc... you are prone. If you use a melanin inhibitor 2-4 weeks PRIOR to doing a TCA or another strong peel, you will turn DOWN the melanin production in your skin and that will help you to get little to no PIH. It is not guaranteed, but is highly recommended and will most definitely reduce any PIH that could be. Please see this video: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/
Jennifer in your older videos you look really dark skinned. Did you used to sunbathe a lot and decided to stop because of the aging effects?
Hi there. No, I always have a terrible time tanning. LOL. It was probably summer and I had some tanning cream on my face to give myself some color. I also like to add a bronzer to my face daily so I am not so pale.
I’m having a hard time finding 90% alcohol. Is it ok to prep with 70% instead?
If you don't want to purchase our Prep B, and you can't find 90%, then go ahead and use 70%. I do suggest that you go over your skin with it a couple of times though to fully strip the skin.
Platinum Skin Care thank you so much for the reply 🙂
@@jesahiraearly1130 Absolutely. Have a wonderful day.
Its at walmart
@@PlatinumSkinCare I keep finding 91 perfect at Walmart. is that one okay?
I have a broken capillaries on my check (one) and around my nose can I use tea 13%? Thanks
If you have rosacea you need to exercise caution. Any inflammation (such as that from peels) will cause more issues. If you do decide to use peels in your regimen, the one we suggest for rosaces is the Mandelic Azelaic Peel 22% only.
Oh yeah another question. Can I use CBD balm with emu oil in it on my face after a TCA peel?
As long as your blend isn't comedogenic - absolutely!
I am doing my research on this peel before I use it, however, I'm getting different information and opinions. I have read and watched other videos of dermatologists saying that TCA Peel is self-neutralizes. However, on your instructional video, you rinse it off with cold water. Why your TCA peel product is not self-neutralizes? Should I leave it on or wash it off when I use this peel?
The TCA peel will neutralize in about 5 minutes. We recommend rinsing because it does not do any good to leave it on your skin. You are better off applying a healing or antiaging treatment.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Do you leave it on if it's a smaller percentage. I just want to make sure I get it right. Also, can you do a body peel with just the TCA 13% for the first time or do you recommend the 20%? This is for a lot of hyperpigmentation & sun damage on the neck, chest, & arms.
@@IntegrativeHealthWellness Nope, doesn't matter what percentage of TCA... go ahead and rinse after your final 5 minutes is up. You can certainly apply 3-4 layers of the TCA 13% on your body for your very first time. That is a great way to see what the acid can do. In the future, you will want to bump up to the 20% or 30% See our vide for application here: ua-cam.com/video/tx-UkmxvOgI/v-deo.html
@@PlatinumSkinCare Got it! I understand the peel now. Thank you.
@@IntegrativeHealthWellness Wonderful.
Why don't you use gloves? 🧤 Won't your fingers burn? 😂
The skin on your fingers is Much thicker than what is on your face. So I don't worry at all. I don't even feel it. **BUT .. I do sometimes to avoid peeling fingertips!
Hi Jennifer I have prescribed tretnoin treatment with added azelic acid clindamycin can I apply that after my TCA peel?
After a chemical peel we do not want to apply any irritating acids to the skin. Tretinoin is the acid form of vitamin A, so it is not a good choice to apply after any peel. Please wait until your skin has completed the shedding process to go back to your normal regimen.
We do offer the option to apply a stronger vitamin A after a TCA or jessners peel. You have 2 options:
Dream Peel *which is the strongest topical retinol. This can be applied 1x only.
Luminosity *which is our .55% retinoid concentrate. This can be applied 1x per day until the skin starts the peeling process. You will then stop applying it.
Using either of these after a medium depth peel will help to increase the shedding of dead skin and can also help to shorten the duration of time it takes the skin to peel.
Can u use benzoyl peroxide wash or the Neutrogena salycilic acid to wash before and after the peel?
You can use your normal daily washes after the peel. That has acid and is great for before a peel.
What percentage would you advise one to use for pigmentation on the legs?
And do I still need to prep my legs if I use retinol for my legs aswell?
I’m African with dark skin.
Your answer will be highly appreciated
For dark skin, you will definitely need to pretreat with a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or Hydroquinone. Retinol is not a melanin inhibitor. Retinol should be stopped about 5 days prior to applying your Peel. We recommend Jessner or TCA 20 for the body for darker skin.

Hi, i would like to ask you can we do peelings on cheloid scars to get ride of them?
Not generally - as it can make it worse. A keloid already extents PAST the initial wound. A peel is another wound and that could spread it further. See our scar video on different treatments. www.platinumskincare.com/scar-treatment/
Did a peel befor , want to so it again but don't have any fade bright. Just have the peel and the Shea butter . And the triple treat body lotion can I still do a peel without the fadebright?
Hi there. That really depends on what peel and what % you are applying. Milder peels and lower percentages may not require that pretreatment. .. while a stronger peel, on darker skin, will require it to help prevent PIH more thoroughly.
Call I apply salicylic acid after the peel. Is a 2% BHA liquid exfoliant. I apply this every day as part as my morning face routine.
Hello. No, you will want to stop using any leave-on acids until your skin has completed the peeling process. Use only healing products and SPF.
You make it seem so easy 🙂 I did the TCA peel on my thighs, close to the bikini area a few years ago. I don't know what I did wrong but it burnt my skin and caused hyperpigmentation on that area making my issue even worse. I don't blame the product but I wonder what I did wrong.
Hello. If your skin is darker (olive or more melanin) then you are at a much greater risk of getting PIH. Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. Important things to do are:
1. Pretreat the skin with a melanin inhibitor for at least 4 weeks prior to applying a peel like TCA.
2. Be sure to use a milder % on your skin. The darker it is - the lower the % to help prevent PIH.
3. If you are treating pigmentation - then Fade Bright and Jessners *as opposed to TCA.

Yes. We had it as a cream in the past and it was very hard to get out of the tiny bottles. We updated it to be the serum (like our .10, .20 and .30) instead. Now it is easy to pump. Enjoy!
Platinum Skin Care Thank you!
I've ordered your 13% TCA peel and I'm waiting to sit down to read the pamphlet that came with it, and to decide on a time to do my first peel. I just wanted to know if my differin gel would be appropriate to use right after the peel for the first several days to help promote peeling? If it's okay to use at what point if any should I stop using it? Thanks again!
I have not tried this personally, but differin is a .1% retinoid - so you should be ok. Same with RetinA. Both could potentially cause irritation - so if you feel bothered then just rinse it off and try again in a few days. With our Luminosity .50 this is a retinol - not the straight acid, so you can apply it without irritation since it does not convert into retinoic acid until it penetrates into the skin.
Do you have any tips or recommendations for side or stomach sleepers after the peel? I’m afraid I’m going to make it crack or peel too soon since I sleep on my side and stomach. Thank you!!
Nope. It will be just fine. I am a side sleeper too. Just get lots of oil or healing products and sleep. IT will be fine. ***I do have to say I LOVE the silky pillow cases they have out there. I would suggest sleeping on that.
Can you use the cross method by doing an alpha hydroxy acid as your full face peel and then do a spot treatment on lines with TCA?
Absolutely. That would work just fine.
Hi there! Ty for the informative video.👍
I have olive skin, do you still recommend a PCA peel? If so, what % should i start off on?
TCA can be used on Fitzpatrick skin tones that are 4-6... but you must pretreat with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior. Use our Fade Bright 1-2x per day or a HQ product. See this video www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/

Is a retinol/bakuchiol cream, such as Versed, okay to apply after rinsing and patting dry?
I have never heard of that. A stronger retinol cream will be beneficial for a few days. Brand doesn't matter.
If I want several different percentages, do you have instruction for how to lower the percentage of the highest to different percentages or does one have to buy the different percentages
We have a chart in our Manual to lower the TCA 30%.
Hi Jennifer, Question - what did you apply on your skin before you apply the TCA? Is it just a normal rubbing alcohol? Thank you in advance.
We sell a prep solution. It is called Prep B. However, you are correct...you can also use rubbing alcohol from your drug store. Try to obtain the highest percentage they have. 98%
Hi have you heard of a glytone peel and do you know what it consists of? Also what is the benefit of using hydroquinone prior to a peel? When I used in the past it worked well while I was on it but the pigmentation reappeared once I was off. I didn’t peel immediately after prior.
Hydroquinone is a melanin inhibitor. Our version is called Fade Bright. Using a melanin inhibitor prior to a TCA or Jessner peel is important if you have an olive skin tone or darker. The task of the melanin inhibitor is to turn down the melanin in the skin to avoid a potential spike in pigment during the chemical peel process. This is called PIH or Post Inflammatory Hyper pigmentation.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Okay. Will the hyperpigmentation return once I’m done peeling? I know it returned when I was using the cream and then came off.
Is a light overall frosting the end-point? Or can you apply another layer over an overall uniform light frosting that develops after 2 layers?
The endpoint is the amount of layers you have Set Out to do. You can add on ONE more each time you do the peel *if you wish. IF you are seeing frosting prior to that last planned layer, you should use that as a stopping point.
Is it ok to use the glycolic cleanser post peel days 2,3,4 and so on?
You can generally use one of our acid cleansers after a peel. I know that many people do without any irritation at all. *As always, if you do feel irritation, wait a few days to reintroduce that.
Hey. I have a Differin Gel. Is that suffircient as a retinol for prep before a TCA?
Yes indeed! That is a perfect prep for a TCA peel.
