I am a dermatologist practicing in Bangalore. Chemical peels are the commonest procedure done in our office. The peel done here is a medium depth peel with probably a very low pH (very acidic). Such peels cannot be done in Indian skin or people with colour and can in fact worsen hyperpigmentation. The most peeling we see is with retinol based peels or retinol based sealing agents. Newer products give great results without the visible peeling shown here. It costs a fraction of what the lady here paid and we use high quality peels imported from France, Spain and USA. One session of a peel for the face would cost around 50$ for the face and upto 100$ for large areas like the back and arms. Peels are a blessing to patients who suffer from severe acne and post acne scarring and hyperpigmentation!
It's so difficult to find appropriate post peel care in India. Moisturizers just don't seem to agree with my skin, and i can feel my skin warming up after application. Even on a daily basis and not just as post peel care. I've never had a doctor recommend a calming moisturizer. Only the greasy warming ones 😭

isalovi people 50 years ago never had the education and technology we had. There’s nothing dangerous in typical peels. Enzymes and glycolic acid peels are packed with natural ingredients and the acids come from fruits or milk. Thats not dangerous. What IS dangerous, is not holding oneself accountable and asking about ingredients or looking them up themselves. Peels are completely safe if you go to a reputable doctors office. The acetone and dawn soap used to clean your face before hand for a peel this deep, is to strip/dry out and prep the skin.
You're so right! One time I went skiing without sunscreen and my whole face burned and peeled. I got the most compliments I've ever had for my skin! Edit: It was not nice and I wouldn't do it again. I had to use an antibiotic cream to heal my raw pink face.
except with a sunburn your skin is peeling from sun damage. I hope no one uses the sun as a way to get a cheap peel because the sun is way more damaging and will prematurely age your skin. The chemical peel is only suppose to peel off the top layer of your skin. The sun damages deeper layers of your skin and it can lead to skin cancer.
I'm so impressed that you weren't afraid to go out into public and to work with your skin peeling. I would be so self-conscious that I would have to take the whole week off work and stay inside. Your results are fabulous. I've been considering getting a peel for hyperpigmentation and fine lines, but it's scary so I keep chickening out.

Great video! I recently had this same peel for both my active acne and for my acne scars. This treatment is great, as it can target two things at the same time. The process is pretty intense. I just posted my before and afters on my channel incase anyone wants to see how it works on active breakouts. I hope anyone dealing with skin issues can find a resolution soon. My skin can be so terrible at times and it makes me very insecure. 😥
I couldn’t tell she had scars until they did a super close up, and even then it seemed minimal, I think they need to chill a bit, she looked great before and after
Yeah, but the point of the review is, like the commenter above me said, to share the experience. She went through the treatment with a few noticeable scars so she could review whether or not the treatment worked. As it turns out, it was pretty helpful, because even with the small amount of scars she had the peel didn’t really make them less noticeable. Now others might think twice before trying something like this themselves.
That peel made a definite difference in skin quality. I would continue with the full protocol. I would however be careful with the moisturizer and spf they gave you as depending on the ingredients they could clog your pores all over again. I’d probably stick with my own products that I know will not clog my pores all over again
The results are not visible in 2 weeks, literally takes months but is very effective! I got a chemical peel for acne about 3 years ago. This stuff WORKS!!! Like my most of my acne went away, I do break out occasionally whoever not as bad and I keep on taking care of my skin. I’m planning on getting another one. The healing process sucks!!!! But trust me it does work!!!

As a chemist, the thought of putting pure acetone on your face pains me. It won't horrifically harm your skin but it is an irritant and will really dry your skin out (possibly cause redness and soreness too) and the thought of an irritant on sensitive skin in particular 😖😖😖we use it to clean all sorts of nasty chemicals off equipment/ surfaces in labs and once you see that it can basically obliterate so many nasty chemicals, the thought of pure acetone on your face just makes me cringe
I'm only a skincare enthusiast but how red her skin was :( it pained me and and how the solution was put on her skin looked aggressive, causing more irritation and her skin already looked irritated 😳
Right! I'm a development chemist and we use acetone to clean our surfaces in the lab. Well acetone, ethanol, and toluene. It's crazy though when you think of how many people put it on their skin especially in nail salons.
WasabiLover a coworker did several sessions to help her acne scars and hyper pigmentation (just a little due to a pregnancy years ago) and it did work, her skin now looks smoother and clear. We definitely can tell the difference right away.
In my country dermatologists don’t approve this treatment cause they say it has damaging effects on your skin in long term. It makes the layers of your face more sensible to UV lights. You can see good effects in short time but you can damage your skin in long term. I’m afraid I have to say there is no miracle in skin-care. Skin-care is a consisting treatment that you should follow during all your life. Always be kind to your skin and avoid harsh products or treatment guys. Clean your face with a gentle cleanser, avoid heavy make-up (like foundation etc), moisture your skin and use a good sun protector (and re-apply every 2-3 hours regardless of the season) every single day. Most importantly love yourself and give your skin some time to heal itself. 😘
Maybe it's true, it all depends on the post peel care, usually if you wanna get a peel, you should stay home and shield your self from the sun, unlike the person on the video, she didn't even wear a hat

@Will H Yeah but she doesn't have any scars. I think her "scars" are just widened pores but that's not that bad. I have a couple pock marks and I think that's what most people think of.
i can recommend some things: don’t touch your face whatsoever, at least drink two cups of water a day, if you HAVE to pop a pimple make sure you use gloves or at least something that you won’t touch your bare face with your bare hands and sanitize after, don’t pop pimple that don’t look white in the middle if they aren’t white they aren’t ready and it can cause irritation making the bumps get bigger, using a daily gentle cleanser, and going in with a moisturizer for sensitive skin and all skin types.
Its perfect for this time of year. You can just go out with your skin peeling and your friends will think its you holloween costume! Easy and effortless🤣
You should keep doing it! I see a huge difference ✨ each time you will be able too get more aggressive with your passes that she does; giving you better results. You should try at least three before deciding too stop.
How? You can’t change your pore size by peeling the outermost layer of your skin off. Her skin looked worse than it was before, which is normal, because they severely harmed it. Her scars were more pronounced, she had more hyperpigmentation, and they filmed her from farther away than they did it for the “before” so you wouldn’t be able to see the unaffected pores :)
Bertie Boo pup Not really. If your pores are visible, they’ll remain visible. Getting out the congestion will make them appear less dirty, but you don’t need to harm your skin this much to clean out the pores.
yellowleaf You think. Next time, learn. If the pores are enlarged because of whatever factor, if you eliminate that factor, they will go back to their natural size. Naturally enlarged pores cannot be manipulated into shrinking, no matter what you do. Pore visibility is also determined, and cannot be changed.
I understand where you’re coming from, but each session is like $300 and the chick said that you would need around four sessions to see any real change,,,,, so it gets pretty expensive

@f I never said that she didn't have any. I just wrote that a lot of people commenting "use someone with real acne" most likely meant the scars rather than the actual acne itself.
There is a cure for cystic acne: isotretinoin. I had cystic acne throughout my teenage years (inherited it from my dad who’s had it his whole life) and isotretinoin is the only thing that works - however it works WELL. Definitely recommend it to everyone who feels as affected by their acne as I did

Laura G. It can be good for MORE than hyperpigmentation. It can help acne scars after a few treatments, just general acne, excessive sebum production, and other things. Think of of it as a chemical exfoliator x10
@Erin Mcsweeney your body 'mechanism' where you get a lot of pigment in one area of skin, more than the others, causing it to visibly darken. My brother had this on his neck.
I'm doing the once a month for 5 months already. Here in Brazil is a lot cheaper $30 each session, but does not come with the post treatment so we need to buy our own and I feel it's not that intense. Most of them (my esthetician has used different acids already) only itchies once its applies or right after removing it. Does not itch after that. I'm now free from old acne scars. And for the first time in a few years I feel confident to go out without make-up
Uh, I had cystic acne and a lot of scaring. I got my peeling done around 4 years back and I think I got 4-5 sessions done followed with a lot of medication. I finally have no acne on my face, a little here and there at times. There is a little scarring because I used to pick them out a lot but other than that I'm really happy that I got it done because I never thought I'd see my face without acne. Yeah, wonder what dangerous stuff we're putting on our faces, eating and exposing ourselves to without knowing...
isalovi yolo
Why?
isalovi people 50 years ago never had the education and technology we had. The acetone and dawn soap used to clean your face before hand for a peel this deep, is to strip/dry out and prep the skin.
lol they are all gonna be dead from their faces melting away long before then
This sounds like a sunburn with a price tag.
You're so right! One time I went skiing without sunscreen and my whole face burned and peeled. I got the most compliments I've ever had for my skin!

but it helps your skin!
Welp ima head out 三三ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
except with a sunburn your skin is peeling from sun damage. I hope no one uses the sun as a way to get a cheap peel because the sun is way more damaging and will prematurely age your skin. The chemical peel is only suppose to peel off the top layer of your skin. The sun damages deeper layers of your skin and it can lead to skin cancer.
Only difference being this one won’t cause hyper pigmentation and cancer lol.

My skin can be so terrible at times and it makes me very insecure. 😥

Yeah, but the point of the review is, like the commenter above me said, to share the experience. She went through the treatment with a few noticeable scars so she could review whether or not the treatment worked.
I'm just a high schooler with an obsession over chemistry, but I agree! Definitely a very drying process. Probably why it's a 'peel,' haha
its used for degreasing the skin before the acids get applied to the skin for deeper penetration !

Completely agree and some people dont understand this
Are you saying putting a product on your skin to forcefully burn a dermal layer off is bad????????
Maybe it's true, it all depends on the post peel care, usually if you wanna get a peel, you should stay home and shield your self from the sun, unlike the person on the video, she didn't even wear a hat

Kyra Sorry, I’m UA-cam challenged. Lol. I didn’t know there were notifications that someone said something to you. Sad...lol. It wasn’t great. My skin barely peeled AT ALL. Just a little on my chin but that was it. I was pretty disappointed.
@@erikkahart2400 That's interesting, the video made it seem like a lot more would happen. Sorry you were disappointed!
Coworker: “hey Karen what cha doing”??

The esthetician even said it’s best for hyperpigmentation, not acne scarring.
Laura G. It can be good for MORE than hyperpigmentation. It can help acne scars after a few treatments, just general acne, excessive sebum production, and other things. Think of of it as a chemical exfoliator x10
Isn't acne scars are post inflammatory hyperpygmentation, though?
@Erin Mcsweeney your body 'mechanism' where you get a lot of pigment in one area of skin, more than the others, causing it to visibly darken. My brother had this on his neck.
I'm doing the once a month for 5 months already. Here in Brazil is a lot cheaper $30 each session, but does not come with the post treatment so we need to buy our own and I feel it's not that intense. Most of them (my esthetician has used different acids already) only itchies once its applies or right after removing it. Does not itch after that. I'm now free from old acne scars. And for the first time in a few years I feel confident to go out without make-up
Yo, I didn't know it was that cheap here, gotta do it sometime then
She seemed like such a sweetheart, to all my girlfriends out there: Acne is normal. Scarring is normal. You are all such beautiful creatures!

@@nathaliealvarezz my aunt has acne scars, I didn't even notice until she pointed them out. She's still very pretty
I know how much acne can bring down your confidence, it's horrible! If you have the money and time for it, give it a shot but be careful who you go to.
Quick question...What do you mean by be careful who I go to?
@@waheedthegreat6233 it's important to know if the clinic have license or not and don't go the clinic that not have a license it will be extremely dangerous and risky also it's important to know the reputation of the clinic
How often can you get the sessions done?
how long did you have to wait between each session?
what was the percentage concentration of the peel used?
what kind of peel was used? e.g. TCA
did the peels remove the red pigmentation of that acne scar? (which is more noticeable than the acne scar)
Do you mind showing a before and after close up shot of the acne scar that has disappear as a result of the peel? (note : don't need to reveal your entire face.. just the acne scar up close)
Must be nice to have that kind of money lol
