  • Today we are going to learn everything about the Jessners peel *pronounced Yessners. You can purchase your CERTIFIED Peel here: www.platinumskincare.com/jess...
    Jessners is a blend of 14% Saliyclic acid, 14% Lactic acid and 14% Resorcinol. It’s commonly used on oily and blemish-prone skin, and because of the resorcinol - its excellent for pigmentation as well and is a staple - when dealing with discolorations.
    Resorcinol may be a new ingredient name for you - and it’s a great one for pigmentation! It’s basically a blend of 50% hydroquinone and 50% Cat-e-Kol. It digs deep into the pores and helps to lighten many forms of hyper-pigmentation including PIH.
    How do I apply this peel? This is applied just like a TCA peel - in layers. Each layer you apply will make the peel stronger. This is great because you can control how much flaking you’re going to get very easily. 1 or 2 layers will be very manageable.
    Several layers can be applied to make this a deep peel - but we highly recommend only adding on ONE additional layer at a time as you move up.
    Can I apply this with a TCA peel?
    This is very common in a professional setting.
    Jessners is usually applied as a pre-treatment since the salicylic and resorcinol help to dissolve the harder skin cells that could potentially block TCA penetration.
    It’s also especially helpful with oilier skin types - where the excess oil can block acid penetration or lead to an uneven uptake.
    This is something that you will move UP to if you feel that either the TCA or Jessners isn’t working well enough on their own. This is an advanced peeling method and we have a detailed tutorial video that you can follow if you are ready for this.
    Can I apply this with the Dream Peel? Yes you can. By applying a layer of Vitamin A after a TCA or Jessners peel you can intensify the flaking. I will demonstrate that in this peel video.
    How do you prepare for a medium depth peel such as this one? We want your skin to be healthy and exfoliated before we apply an acid.
    The perfect product to prepare your skin with is our Retinol Molecular Serum every evening to even out the skin. I suggest the .20%.
    *If you have prescription Tretinoin that’s great too! Another alternative would be an acid serum like our Serum 15 or Serum 30.
    How many layers of Jessners can I apply? We generally recommend no more than 4-5 layers. In a professional setting they may continue to apply based on how your skin is responding. So, it is POSSIBLE for you to work your way up to more … but you need to exert caution when applying salicylic and resorcinol.
    Very Important Note Here for Ethnic skin coloring (Fitzpatrick 3-6):
    If you have Olive toned or darker skin, we always recommend you to prepare with a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone product for at least 2 weeks prior to a deeper peel. This will help to prevent Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. You can find Fade Bright here for purchase: www.platinumskincare.com/fade...
    Follow along and you can apply your peel at the same time as me. If you are in need of more information - we have many many videos here on UA-cam as well as on our website to teach you.

    This is one of my favorite peels in helping to continue keep my face blemish free! (after I went through the purging process during the first couple of months) ! I love to use this particular peel if I'm unable to a deeper peel, & this has become a staple in my routine to help keep my face blemish free. It's so nice to be able to purchase such a high quality and certified peel that I can perform at home! Thx PSC for such amazing products!

    Just a tip- I did a peel over lockdown, but had no alcohol, so used hand sanitiser gel (alcohol based) to prep my skin. Works incredibly well.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 роки тому

      That generally makes sense due to the high % of alcohol... but usually they have something like glycerine or another intense hydrating ingredient in there that will leave oils on your skin. Try some alcohol from a bottle you would drink (vodka...) or use PURE acetone (nail polish remover) as an alternative.

      HA! Well ... that IS my skin. I am in my 50's and have melasma ,,, and had grade 3 acne for years. But ... as you do more and more peels ... and use the proper daily products - those things become past-tense! Just get started. The process is the same for everyone. I suggest TCA 7 at 2 layers to start off gently - but with a good acid for skin showing signs of age already.

      We generally do not - though there are some that can work up to that. You are basically doing a light exfoliation prior to an exfoliation. With the milder acids it may be a way to get a stronger peel. Acids like mandelic, glycolic, lactic.... would be potential options as someone works up.

    1-Should we use fade bright right after the peel until the skin starts peeling?
    2-Can the dream peel be used on the body?
    3-if I use it on my body should I rinse it before I sleep?
    4-how do I prevent for it to stain my clothes if I apply it on my body before I go to bed?
    5-Any other things you would advice me to do when it comes to the first days of post peeling on the body?
    Thank you

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  4 місяці тому

      Hello. Absolutely you can use FB and any other great treatments after the peel has been rinsed. Just avoid irritating things like Serum 15 or Serum 30. Follow with your healing products.
      Dream Peel can be used on smaller areas such as the hands and/or arms. We want to avoid large expanses of skin due to the high content of retinoids. **There is some talk now that it may be OK to apply retinoids on large parts of the body - but, until we get more information on that we are going to exercise caution.
      Dream Peel will not generally stain the clothes - and especially if it is just applied on smaller body parts ... we can just let it soak in for a few minutes and then dress. And/Or wear older Tshirts and pants prior to bed. *you can also sleep with the Jessners peel On the skin. That generally won't bother clothing.
      The body takes a good 30 days to finish peeling. Don't expect to SEE anything for the first 10-14 days. Then you may start to see some drying. I love to keep the skin moisturized and protected with things like Emu oil or Shea Butter! ... After 2 weeks ... when the flaking is starting.... you can use the Triple Treat 25% lotion IF it is not irritating to you. :)

    Hi, I really love your products and really appreciate that you ship worldwide. :) I remember you made a video about which percentage of TCA (lower/higer) to put on skin first when I want to do a "all face regular TCA peel" plus "higher percentage of TCA as a spot treatment." Hello. If you are doing a CROSS treatment I like to do that first, wait my 5 minutes and then follow up with the 13% on the full face as usual. That way the scars get an extra boost.
      If you are just doing your face peel ... ex... you did 2 layers, and now you want to add a spot treatment to only a couple of areas... go ahead and do that and use the same percentage. Wait your final 5 minutes before rinsing.

Because of this, it sits on top of the skin, leading to clogged pores, breakouts and without proper absorption, causes extreme dryness.”Feb 7, 2018 I believe Olive oil has a much better track record.. though still some negatives: www.byrdie.com/olive-oil-for-skin

      I like an acid cleanser because it can lightly exfoliate the skin and will be a deep cleanser. The Prep solution is going to strip off any oils or cleanser residue. That is 100% necessary before any peel. You could get away with a different cleanser and then just do extra prepping with your solution to get the skin super clean if need be.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Рік тому

      A true Jessner Peel is a 14/14/14 solution. 14% of Salicylic, Lactic and Rescorcinal.
      Hyperpigmentation, PIH and melasma are very common issues today. Depending on how deep the pigmentation lies in the skin can make this an easy or very difficult process. Most will use a daily melanin inhibitor [Fade Bright or hydroqinone] with SPF 50 every day to help minimize the spotting and help prevent new. Things like Vitamin C can also be exceptionally helpful. Retinoids should also be used at night. We recommend the Fusion A. 25% to start off with.
      Most likely peels will be initiated into the treatment. And depending on if you want little to no flaking [Lactic 50] a bit of dryness and some small flakes [mandelic 40] or if you are OK getting a lot of shedding with stronger peels such as TCA 13 and Jessners, you will be looking at a series of peels to help minimize the darkness on the skin.
      The key is NOT to get discouraged. This will most likely require quite a bit of treatment time to get a result you are happy with. SPF is very very important as is wearing a wide brim hat to protect the skin.
      If you find that after a few months photos are not showing a great enough difference, you may need to look into adding on IPL or other laser treatments.

      We always want you to try each acid individually prior to combining/layering them. See this video on that: www.platinumskincare.com/are-you-ready-for-advanced-peeling-methods/

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  2 роки тому +1

      It seems as though everyone wants to just START STRONG with peels... but, that really isn't the best thing to do. In a "perfect world" we want you to start with the milder acids and get a feel for how a peel series works.
      Then, when you are more comfortable with the process you can move UP to a stronger acid ... a layerable acid like TCA or Jessners. Then, as you move forward you will find that these can be used together or with our Vitamin A Dream Peel. So many options!
      Let's find out IF you are ready to move up to these methods, or if you need to stay where you are for awhile longer. Remember - SAFETY first! Never ever rush to get results. Slow and Steady will always win the race with acid.
      Watch this video to learn more about the combinations and when to move into them when you are ready.

      You can add ONE extra layer each month you do a peel.
      IF you are switching to Jessners now though ... you will want to start over with your layering. 1-2 the first time ONLY. Work up from there. These are completely different acids.

    Why are there suggestions to avoid heat/ sweating post peel? What does the heat do?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Рік тому

      One of 2 things could happen.
      1. The heat can cause PIH in the skin. That is a darker discoloration.
      2. This is the big one... you will have sweat bubbles trapped underneath the skin. If they were just "ugly" it would be ok... but, this layer of sweat can also cause the skin to come off too early ... and that can lead to Erythema and PIh.

    A year ago, I had x3 Jessner peels done in a clinic, once a month. My skin absolutely loved it. But at £175 per visit, I want to do this at home now instead. I neglected using sun cream daily and ate refined sugars so I ended up with acne with the cycle of squeezing and scarring.
    Though my active acne is pretty much gone, and my
    skin responded positively with this a year ago, I never went past 5-6 out of 10 during my first sessions (in the clinic) whilst it was on my face. So how many layers can I do now that I’ll be doing it at home?

If you are using this to control acne... then it will last while you are using it and keeping your pores clear. If you are treating hyperpigmentation.. you will HAVE to be very diligent with your SPF and melanin inhibitors to keep the skin mark free. Just like anything = upkeep is needed. Do your series and then just as needed.

    Safe for eye area?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 роки тому

      Normally I wouldn't recommend jessners on the eye area. ***Though, if you have a great deal of sun damage it could be used with caution. See our TCA eye peel video for steps. www.platinumskincare.com/eye-peel-intense-restoration-kit/

    Can I apply jessners peel for undereyes pigmentation

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Рік тому

      If you have hyperpigmentation then yes, absolutely. **Always be sure to pretreat with a melanin inhibitor if you have olive skin or your ethnicity is traditionally darker. This will help to protect against PIH.
      Always apply a barrier under the lash line to stop any acid from seeping farther than you have applied it. See our TCA Eye Peel Video for a demonstration: www.platinumskincare.com/eye-peel-intense-restoration-kit/

      This depends highly on how Wet your layers were ... how Many layers were applied as well. And be Sure it has been the full 10 days to allow the skin to turnover.
      3-5 days to start flaking
      3-5 more days to finish flaking.

    I have blackheads a lot a day after jessner peel... what should I do?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 роки тому +1

      Jessners has 14% salicylic in it and that will help to remove blackheads. Give it a chance. Apply enough layers to get a good flake and they will clear.
      Keep using Retinol every night to keep those pores clear. A good cleanser like our AB Cleanser will help as well.
