Thank you! This was, by far, THE most informative presentation on acid peels anywhere online; clear, detailed and concise! Now I understand the differences between the various chemical peel options and which direction to go in for DIY peeling.
I’ve never done a chemical peel in my life and last night I did 3 passes of tca 7% and I am hooked!!! It was so easy, I watched your videos 20 times each probably lol, I knew exactly what to do, everything went great! My skin has never felt so smooth EVER! It tingled a bit but I had no irritation or negative side effects. I’m so excited to continue my peeling/anti-aging journey, thank you Jen!!!!
Wonderful job! 7% is a great acid to start with if you are really worried or have more sensitive skin ... or just want a bit less flaking than the 13%. Keep up the good work.
I used Salicylic acid as a face wash for acne. I use glycolic to treat breakout and I have dared because of this woman a TCA peel on my lip lines and pigmentation. 6 months apart. I feel like a fresh snake with my new skin lol!! Thank you for your products and videos I love it!! ❤️
OH YAY!!! So happy to hear that you are moving up and seeing great changes with your adventurous self. :) Keep it up. Everything gets better as you progress.
I've scoured the internets and this is THE MOST INFORMATIVE and useful video I have found. SUBSCRIBED!! Will watch them all and for sure you have a new customer. THANKS for empowering your viewers!
I have bought almost everything you sell .. My skin looks younger and I feel so good love the triple threat lotion it helps with pigmentation and the serum the eye cream I am so glad I found this skin care.. Thanks so much.
Christiana Weir-Whilby triple Treat and Fade Bright are both excellent for daily treatments. For best results though you will definitely need to add on the body peels. I suggest 20% Tca or 30% Tca.
Excellent video! This way of providing info to your customer base is such a good idea, for those of us who have no idea what we're doing it inspires confidence, we can do it!
I love my tca peels! I just did my first 20 percent after doing two 13 percent and it is way stronger ladies! Go in steps like she say don't jump to the highest right away bc you don't know if your skin can handle it!

So glad. Glycolic is a wonderful peel to start off with. Work your way up in time as you move forward. Pretty soon you will be able to leave it on for minutes at a time.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I used 70% on my hands and left it there for several hrs. Didn’t feel anything. Same with my forearms but washed it off after 7 min and felt nothing. Can I use on my face?
I use four of them at once...really speeds up the process..I started peeling like a week ago..I apply sunscreen and oil lotion etc. she is right to use the other stuff before applying these products, they’re very potent..
OH! thank you for the compliment and suggestion. ;) I always use the same thing on my neck and chest that I do on my face. Apply from your forehead all the way down.
Thank you so much for this information! I've been considering lactic acid peel but I've never done peels before and I have dehydrated acne prone skin and at the age of 30 I'm getting sunspots and possible beginner pigmentation. I also have sensitive skin that gets irritated very easily. Thank you for the guidance.
My personal regimen might not be beneficial for you. I am acne prone, aging. day - AB Cleanser + Regenerate EGF/Nano Hyaluronic/4 potion combo (I alternate) + Vitamin B Complex + Emu oil (winter) + Cotz Flawless SPF 50 eve - AB + EGF + Fusion A + B Complex Wintertime I can get a bit dry ... so I may add on the Essentials FX with bakuchiol instead of Fusion A or may use this instead.
@@kenbrandy My favorite acids are: Mandelic (when I don't want a lot of flaking) or TCA and or Jessners. I like to layer the Jessners + TCA to target my melasma and also aging.
I like the way you teach us it’s very important to understand the science behind these. Chemicals ., I thank you very much and I have a question,,, can I use TCA 13 if I have mild rosacea????
There are definitely those that use it. What I can say is that we will only recommend the Mandelic 22 as safe for rosacea. For rosacea start using Vitamin C + Nano Hyaluronic every day. It will help immensely.
Just go with what you want to change and how much flaking you want to deal with. TCA 13 for aging skin. There is nothing better. Salicylic or jessners for acne. Type in your issues and I will give some help.
Hi! This video was very informative and I'm so glad I found this company. I want to do a chemical peel on my feet to reduce wrinkles and soften my feet and my knees to remove hyperpigmentation and even out my skin. I was thinking of using the 20% TCA since I have Type 5 skin type. What are your suggestions? What's a good pairing with TCA? The vitamin A peel or the fusion A luminosity method?
Caution with darker skin types. I suggest Fade Bright and Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion as a daily treatment. After 4 weeks, if you wish to do a peel, then the TCA 20% is an option. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/body-peels-which-acid-what-percentage-fitzpatrick/
Oh yes! I feel jessners like FIRE. ... for about 4-5 minutes and then it is gone. 2nd layer takes a little less to go away ... 3rd layer takes a little less.
Very informative video! I've struggled with malasma and hyperpigmentation for years and have decided 2020 is when I need to do something about it. I'm approaching my mid 30s with sensitive, dry skin and prone to monthly hormonal breakouts which always leave a scar. I'm currently using the ordinary lactic acid 10% with HA 3x per week. I suspect I may need something stronger but I'm super nervous! I use spf 40 sunscreen. I'm at a loss with my skin. Any Suggestions?
10% lactic is pretty mild. I would suggest starting up with a weekly 50% Lactic peel. Then Fade Bright (or hydroquinone) 2x per day along with SPF 50. Retinoids at night will help the turnover as well. Consider something like our .20% Retinol Molecular Serum.
I have a question jennifer. I am black and have acne scarring on my back and shoulder. I prepped my skin with fade bright and melanin inhibitor for six weeks. I also washed my skin with soap and water and then cleaned it with alcohol. I did not spot treat, I applied the skin peel 50 percent on my right deltoid (shoulder area). I waited a few days and saw no frosting and no peeling. I felt a slight tingling/warming sensation when I applied but just the area closest to the arm pit got dry and flaked a little. No peeling. Did I do something wrong? What would you recommend?
Hello. You applied a 50% what? Glycolic? TCA? We do not manufacture a 50% TCA... so I can not help you with that. What is normal though on the body... is a peel taking 30 days to exfoliate. Don't expect to see anything for a good 10-14 days.
Thank you so much for the detailed information.. if possible post peeling how we need to take care of the skin? Please make a video on this..also educate us on can we use retinol,or other activities in daily skin care daily routine post peeling ? Or we should not use active ingredients in post peeling day or night skin care routine?? If we can use means how many days post peeling we can start skincare routine day or night routine with activities (milder % like lactic 10%,retinol 2%, glycolic/mandelic less than 10%..
Here is a video on after-peel care: www.platinumskincare.com/chemical-peels-flaking-what-to-expect/ When you are all done flaking, and your skin feels normal, you can go back to your daily regimen.
Hello, I admire the effort spent replying to every comment. Had a couple questions if you're willing 1. Any suggestions for glasses? I've heard the nosepiece can press into the skin, causing a deeper peel than desired or healing to fail, and it's recommended to not wear glasses for up to 4 weeks afterwards, but I need them to see at all. 2. Any statistics on exactly what undesirable effects are how likely to happen (TCA/Mandela)? 3. Some say to only have TCA peels done professionally because there's too high of a risk of complications otherwise, any thoughts on this? 4. How much longer would you say Mandelic peels would take than TCA to fade acne scars? Thank you
Glasses are just a must if you wear them. If you are concerned with this - you can always avoid applying the acid to that area of your nose. Not a problem at all. A little dab of ointment will create a barrier before you apply the acid to your face. Truly, I would not worry about this too much. :) I would say the most undesirable effect would be PIH. You can help to prevent that by applying a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior to performing peels. IF you do get PIH .. it will be milder than it could have been. Everyone has an opinion. Education is everything! Also starting with a reasonable % like 7 or 13 TCA and working up. Mandelic is very very mild. TCA is a stronger acid. There are not specific times or comparisons between the two. They are not really comparable. TCA is far superior for major changes. But not everyone wants that. They want little to NO social downtime. That is where the Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels come in.
my sisters never had a peel before.. she has pigmentation. wrinkles and deep under eyes . she's 30 should I start her on a say tca 13% .. one layer. or 2 If she can handle it. or a 30% glycolic . or I have 50% mandelic. its hard to know somtiems which is best to start with. but also she's thick skin and not sensitive. I will be doing her alternate treatments of RF microneedling and chemical peels at monthly intervals. (every 2 weeks will be one peel. one RF mn.. then 2 weeks later the peels and so on.. we want a good 5 to 6 months or 6 treatments of each to really get her skin transformed I will of course also guide her home care too.
30% glycolic = very mild *Mandelic 40 would be a better option for a mild peel and hyperpigmentation. Can be done 1x every 1-2 weeks. TCA 13% = much stronger. Then layers increase. This is a 1x per month peel. You must wait 1 month prior to doing any other treatments. Most are well to begin with 1-2 layers of TCA 13. That is a common starting point for many. If she has olive or darker skin she will need to pretreat with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior to a TCA peel. We have a Peel Finder Tool on the website if you are unsure of which acid is best for her needs. Whether or not she wants "social downtime" or a milder acid which gives little to none. That is here: www.platinumskincare.com/peelfindertool
@PlatinumSkinCare thanks ever so much. I have 50% mandelic or 30% glycolic. so I will use the 50% mandelic for her first one to introduce her before any tca.. I will order some of your 40% too for the future but will 50% be ok for her first as I am doing her tomrorow
@@minipandora22 There will be a chart in your Peel Manual and dilutions. You can also see more here: www.platinumskincare.com/how-to-dilute-acid-peels/
I absolutely love your content. It's very informative, precise and easy to follow. Unfortunately being in South Africa, we don't have access to your products and have to do with alternatives. The range of acid peels available to buy is very limited, unless if you go to ridiculously overpriced clinics for treatments. Jessners are hard, if not impossible to find. The rest are sold at ridiculously low % (e.g. -TCA 4% and 6%) yet very pricey. Highest Lactic you can get is 40% and salicylic is 30%. On the other hand, you find different % for same quantity of the same peel going for the same price (e.g. 10ml of Lactic 20% is same as 10ml for 40%)🤣! Like, its so ridiculous, I don't even think anyone knows what they are doing!
Well, that can certainly happen. Saliyclic 30% would be VERY strong. The 4 and 6% TCA... yes very low and would require probably about 5-8 layers to get a good peel on the face. We are glad that you found us.
Hi thanks for all the knowledge sharing. I’m going to do the peel and it will be my first time. Skin type : dry. Purpose : skin whitening. My skin has little freckles with no other problems. So, I shall start with TCA or glycolic? thanks again for reading.
To help brighten the skin tone and lighten pigmentation we recommend a few acids. Mandelic 40 or Lactic 50 are both mild and will have just dryness and maybe some baby flakes. Jessners is a stronger option that is layerable and will have quite a good amount of flakes. Use Fade Bright Daily, Retinol .20 at night and NEVER forget the SPF 50.
This was an EXCELLENT video...I should have come here first prior to the 50 other videos I watched, lol. In your opinion, could I possibly get similar results to fraxel laser (but for Much less and more time)?
I think there is a place for ALL of those amazing goodies out there. Needling, peels, lasers... Peels of course are my favorites.. with professional needling and PRF being a 2nd favorite. If you want to jump to TCA... then there are REALLY some positive changes that can be had - guaranteed. TCA has been proven in studies to stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin. So that is the #1 I recommend for anti-aging. For hanging skin.. or excess skin? That is surgery all the way. Nothing can fix loose skin other than a scalpel.
I'm a bit confused. This video tells me that mandelic is stronger than lactic. However, I read something different. "Mandelic acid has a larger molecular size than lactic acid, which means it penetrates the skin more slowly and is less irritating."
Yes... but molecular size isn't everything! TCA has an even bigger molecule (almost triple the size of lactic) - and look what THAT can do! :) Basically anything with a dalton of 500 or less will penetrate the skin with ease.
Hi again Jen, If you still have rough dry skin hanging on at around the 1 week mark afyer this peel but everything else feels back to normal, can you start back on your tretinoin or should you wait until the skin is 100% back to normal? Thank you xx
Hi mam, all the love from us ...this is by far the best and the most genuine channel i have come accross..thanks alot for this help. Mam i have freckles on my nose and cheeks and my mom has melasma and hyperpigmentation all over her face. I have never tried any peel ever and i am 23 , neither my mom has ever used any peel and she is 56 . Please suggest a peel for me and my mom
Certainly ... and here is the video you need to watch: www.platinumskincare.com/how-do-i-get-rid-of-brown-spots-dark-spots-age-spots-pigmentation/ Fade Bright 2x per day + SPF 50 Retinol at night. Peel options: Lactic (mild little to no flaking visible). Mandelic 40 (dryness and mild flakes). Jessners (stronger and many flakes).
Yes, absolutely. Salicylic and Jessners (which contains salicylic) are both excellent for Seborrheic keratosis. I would suggest the 25% salicylic here: www.platinumskincare.com/salicylic-peel-3-15-25/ or jessners here: ;www.platinumskincare.com/jessners-peel/ Body peels are generally done 1x per month *as the skin turns over very slowly/
I am a Fitzpatrick 5. I am using tazorac plus differin combination for now, when should I stop using these products before I initiate a superficial acid? A superficial peel could turn into a deeper peel otherwise? Thank you. Enjoyed the clear explanations.
If they sensitize your skin, then make sure to stop about 5 days prior to applying any peels. If they don't affect your skin then you can use them up to the day prior. I generally only stop maybe the night before. We are all different though.
*I have really bad hyperpigmentation mainly on my cheek and neck from ingrown hairs and unfortunately picking at them to get the hairs out.. anyways I have been working on my skin but it has taken me years of research to figure out that spf 50 + glycolic acid + bio oil are my god sends. They have actually helped me tremendously in lightening my marks but I’m not satisfied and I want my face back. What peels would you recommend as I have sensitive skin but I want these marks gone .. new decade new face .. thanks in advance for your help /suggestions.*
¥oshi Xo hello. I recommend Fade Bright 2x per day then your bio oil and spf. Evenings Retinol .20 molecular serum. Either continue on with your glycolic peels (30% or move up to 50%) and keep going. It takes time to reverse damages. That’s perfectly normal. Do at least 8 peels at 1x every 2 weeks. If you want to alternate acids, Lactic 50 is another one that is great with pigmentation issues.
Since I have been using a different melanin inhibitor twice daily plus retinol at night, for 5 months, can I start the TCA peel series right away? Or is it necessary to specifically use the Fade Bright for peel prep?
Hello, I have a hyperpigmentation mustache I think It came from waxing and damage to the to the skin. I have used acids like kojic and azleic at once and it was and immediately fading but there’s still a grey dark mark above the lip on my brown skin which treatment should I use?
PIH is common with any form of trauma to the skin. You should begin using a melanin inhibitor and a retinol every day. Fade Bright or hydroquinone will be excellent choices. Retinol .20 at night and of course, SPF 50 every day you head out. If you want to add a peel to this, I suggest the Mandelic 40 1x a week for 6-8 weeks.
I'm 45 and I have very wrinkled hands due to working in the sun without gloves for decades. Is there a way to reverse this damage with TCA peels? The other option is laser but that's a last resort.
You can absolutely do TCA peels on your hands! It works very well. It can take 20-30 days to start and finish the flaking process - but, that is normal for body parts. :) Use lots of emu oil and/or shea butter to keep them as moist as possible during this phase. See this video on how to do that: www.platinumskincare.com/hand-and-body-peeling-tca-30-versus-glycolic-70-demonstration/ And this video: www.platinumskincare.com/body-peels-which-acid-what-percentage-fitzpatrick/ Remember that you will have to 100% protect your hands going forward. Gloves and High SPF always.
Hi, I have rosacea, small patches on my skin, but I think they are nota inflammed. Also I tend to have small broken cappilaries, around the nose and cheeks. I use mandelic low percentage but I would like to use a stronger acid. I'm 42. Wich one would you recomend? Thank you in advance! 🙏
You could try moving up to the Mandelic 40. We usually recommend the Mandelic 22 for clients with rosacea. However, if you feel your skin is tolerating the Mandelic 22 well, then you should be ok moving up to the 40%. :)
Great informational video on all the various peels. Awesome job!!! How would you incorporate micro needling with Glycolic peels on oily mature skin? Thank you again.
Treatments for Sebaceous hyperplasia: Carbon dioxide laser, Excision, TCA. I would suggest the TCA 20% at 2-3 layers on the exact area. You can use a Qtip or our Wooden picks if they are very very small. www.platinumskincare.com/cotton-tipped-wood-picks/
Just finished my second 20% tca peel. Liked the results too. Im using these on body stretch marks, but am realistic about results. About to add in jessners + tca 20, and then in 4-6 weeks apply my dr pen m8 ultima to penetrate the deeper areas of the scars. Thoughts?
Hi I have been using hydroquinone and tretinoin for 3 years now and would love to try a peel I have slightly sensitive skin and I'm a 4 on the Fitzpatrick scale I was going to order the 13 percent tca now im confused shall I start at 7 percent with the melanin inhibitor don't know what it's called. Thanks in advance
We recommend starting with TCA 13. Pre treat with Fade Bright or Hydroquinone for 2-3 weeks prior to applying your peel. We recommend Luminosity and Emu Oil or Essential Healing Blend post peel.
Thank you for your reply I made my first order yesterday and it was 13% tca with the healing oil I have alo ordered luminosity method. When my order arrives I will be asking for advice. Thanks again.

Is azealic acid a melanin inhibitor? Cause my dermatologist prescribed it to my hyperpigmentation ( that I made worse by abusing hydroquinone ) . She was going to do a Deep chemical after 6 weeks of use , but now I have to wait when the city Reopen and I’m impatient.
Azelaic acid is excellent for pigmentation issues. You can apply this peel 1 x per week. We recommend a series of 8 weekly peels for optimal results. www.platinumskincare.com/mandelic-peel-22-40/
New to home peels. I was floored to learn I can do this myself. !! However, I am 71 yrs. young. My skin is in excellent condition with fine lines and I want help to eliminate or decrease the size. I order TCA. Did I Purchase the right acid?
It is always best if darker skin types use a melanin inhibitor like alpha arbutin (in our Fade Bright) or hydroquinone to lessen the melanin production prior to peels. But, "generally" the milder acids are just fine. The acid choice really depends on what you are wanting to treat? Acne = Salicylic 15 or Mandelic 40. Very sensitive skin = Mandelic 22. General refreshening = Glycolic 30 These are each great options.
Hi, I have been using a 50% glycolic acid peel (not my first) for 2 or 3 months, but I have never experienced any peeling or flaking on my face, it does burn and I see very little improvements. A dermatologist told me that is normal that it doesn't peel and that it should be used daily, and I tried to use it more times but not daily. Yesterday it didn't even burn. Sould I start using a TCA peel?
A 50% glycolic peel should not ever be used daily. Possibly they were referring to an acid serum - like our Serum 15 or Serum 30. Even those you must start off with about 3x per week and work up to daily ... as your skin tolerates/acclimates. AHA peels are not meant to give you a lot of flaking. They are the "lunchtime" peels for a reason. No social downtime. Expect a bit of dryness ... maybe a few flakes with these acids. If you are looking for flaking you need to move to a TCA or Jessners peel. Start with 1-2 layers your first time. Next MONTH you can add on 1 more layer. Continue as you see fit.
Can I somehow work in 15% salicylic peels while I’m also doing a series of 30% glycolic? I have tons of closed comedomes on my forehead that I’ve had for years but am in my 40’s and looking to smooth out my skin and address fines lines, wrinkles, texture, and melasma. Thanks!
Yes - you could alternate your peel choice. Not a problem. They are both 1x weekly (or every other week) peels. I suggest EOW, and that you use the alternate week to be on a proper regimen to control your clogged pores. See here: platinumskincare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405062248083-What-can-I-use-to-control-my-Acne
New subscriber here! Love your channel! I have been experimenting with acids for years regarding my extreme KP situation. I am a 6 on the Fitzpatrick scale and wanted to know which of your acids you would suggest for me to purchase? I want to apply to full legs and elbows for KP....and would like to know which acid to purchase for hands and feet?
We love the Lactic 50 for KP. It is a more hydrating acid - so it doesn't add to the extreme dryness. As a daily product we recommend our Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion. That has acids to exfoliate and is extremely hydrating - both of what you need for KP. www.platinumskincare.com/triple-treat-body-lotion/
I’m a mail carrier so I’m in the sun a lot. I’m fair-ish skinned. I’ve started getting more wrinkles since having this job. In my early 30s. I’ve started wearing a hat 3 years ago bc I started getting ‘squinting’ lines also I now have forehead wrinkles. Which would you recommend? And what would you recommend for wrinkle on the stomach?
Ah yes. Constant sun exposure will age you. SPF 50+ for you and that big hat. Large glasses will help too. I suggest the Retinol .20 every night and Regenerate EGF 1-2x per day. High Octane Vitamin C will also be very helpful. Add a smear of that each morning with your favorite serums or our Nano Hyaluronic. Peels for the future: TCA 13.
A melain inhibitor is generally only needed on those with ethnic skin tones. Most with very white skin have quite a low chance of getting PIH *though they still can. Now that being said there are many that have had good luck in NOT getting PIH... but that is really just that... "luck". And never forget that you can do 50 peels in a row that go great...but that next one might be different. It is always easier to prep properly than to deal with a negative outcome.
Hope you can reply, I have been looking forward to purchasing the tca 20% peeling. However, since I am from Chile, I would like to know if there is any chance the delivery get rejected. Do I need a prescription? Thanks in advance
Hello. #1. Please do NOT start with a TCA 20%. Prep your skin with a melanin inhibitor like our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone product for 2-3 weeks. Then, begin with 1 to 2 layers of TCA 13 instead. ... No, a prescription is not required. We do not know Chile's importing process though - so please research that prior to ordering. Some countries require a business to get skin care products ... or other issues.
I’m still lost on what I should choose. I have dry skin. I’m 29 and looking to start some anti-aging treatments and wanting to get fine line improvement from my peel, however I have a lot of congestion (no active pustules, just white and black heads). My job is flexible enough that I can have some downtime for peeling. I’ve had a few peels done over the years. Please and thank you for advice!
I would say that a nice beginner at-home peel - that is good for congested pores is our Mandelic 40. You could do that about 1x every 10-14 days. If you want more flaking, the TCA 13% is your best option. Start with 1 layer and work your way up. ***For the congestion - start using Retinol .20% every evening. That will help most of all. ... and its excellent to prepare for peels ... and its great for fine lines.
Platinum Skin Care thanks again for the help! I wanted to do a good peel before trying retin a again since it made me break out something fierce. I’ll be placing an order soon 😊
Which acid to remove a Sun Tan? ... or, are you referring to sun Damage? Spotting all over the skin? Don't perform peels on skin that has a summer tan. Let that fade and then start your peels. Sun damage can be treated quite well with an every day application of Fade Bright or Hydroquinone. After pretreating for 4 weeks, you can move forward to a Jessners peel (stronger/layered) or a milder Mandelic 40 peel (1x weekly or 1x every other week).

@@slowboy__ If your skin is a darker color - and you are dealing with PIH... you NEED to use a melanin inhibitor (www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/) first for 4 weeks prior to performing a peel. TCA 20 is too strong. You can dilute that in 1/2 and start with a 10% at 2 layers. NO sun, SPF 50 and a hat to shade the face when you are outdoors.
@@slowboy__ We sell it on our website - it is also on the TCA page. :) You can also get another product with at least 2% alpha arbutin or Hydroquinone to use instead.
Hi, do you have alternatives to the skin medica peels- illuminize, vitalist and revjuvinize? Asking because I got them done at doctors office andi know they suit my skin type. I am looking for at home alternatives. Thanks!
You are very much helpful but i still don't know how to choose the peel either the glycolic, salicylic or TCA cause i have a dry, congested skin, acne, and dark acne scars
If you are dealing with acne: Salicylic 15% is a great place to start. Mandelic 40% would be another option that is a bit less "harsh". These are each a peel you can do 1x every 7-10 days. ... So about 3-4x per month. A stronger option would be Jessners. That can be applied 1x per month and is layerable.
Hi there! I would like to know if fade bright is safe to use when pregnant. I know hydroquinone is a no no, is this one if the ingrediens? Also, is any chemical peel safe while pregnant? I've Googled this and found conflicting info. I have used 3 of my tca bottles and didn't want to proceed unless safe. Please note I am using on my body (dark spots on legs) not my face. Thank you!
Who Said That?! Hello there. We have a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/h1HmUo9y0NM/v-deo.html Fade Bright = yes! Tca = no. Glycolic, lactic and Mandelic peels are all fine.
Hey Jennifer, Hope you're doing good. I started with at home Glycolic 50 peel and had 3 sessions, I'm not quite happy with the results. I want to switch to TCA, is it okay if I just start with TCA after the skin is healed from last peel or should I wait for months ?
It is just fine to transition over to TCA. You can alternate them as well... just be sure to follow this rule: Always follow the recommendations of the Last Acid you applied to your face. If it is TCA ... you have to wait 30 days before doing any other peel. If it is a hydroxy acid... you have to wait 7 days before doing any other peel.
We recommend TCA 30 if you have a light skin tone. Medium to darker skin tones should use TCA 20 and also will need to pretreat with Fade Bright for 2 weeks prior to using the TCA Peel.
I would suggest the Saliyclic 15% for ingrown hairs. It is an antiinflammatory acid and it will dig into the pores to help. Leave that on for about 5+ minutes and rinse. Wash with an acid cleanser in the shower daily to help keep the dead skin to a minimum.
Count yourself LUCKY! You are 50% more likely to get PIH. It can happen to anyone at any time - no matter how many peels they have done in the past. Use caution.

Does the frosting mean to stop, or can I still put another layer on? (TCA 13%). Grateful if you can answer because different people say different things about frosting. Great product btw, thank you ☺️
Hi there. Frosting is good. It's not "necessary" to get flaking, but when you do see it you will definitely get some good skin sloughing. At home we never want a solid white - and most likely you wouldn't see that unless you were applying multiple layers of a TCA 20. ... So, a white speckling or haze is just fine. You may choose to apply another layer on top of that (after the 5 minutes) to make it frost more... or, if you want you can just apply another layer of the TCA to the areas that did NOT frost. It is very common to have only certain parts of the face frost. Forehead, chin, cheeks are pretty good... but many other areas are slower to frost. Just don't get too caught up in the frost. Even if it doesn't show at all you will still get some flaking. Progress slowly and see what kind of flaking that you are getting before you decide you want more.
Generally stop retinoids 3-5 days prior to your peels. Stronger acids like TCA I would suggest a bit longer. 4-6 days there. After your peel, as soon as you are done with the flaking process and are no longer sensitive, you can go right back to your normal regimen.
My daughter is taking Accutane. She has hyperpigmentation from acne. Luckily, she doesn't have any deep scares. When can we start lactic acid peels on her? I've been watching all the videos and understand Lactic Acid Peels to be the gentlest. I've heard conflicting information as to when we can start. Anywhere from Six months post Accutane up to a year post before we can start. Is there anything we can do to help her skin now while she's taking Accutane? She has acne on her face, chest and back. She's on her second month of Accutane. Your advice is appreciated!
With Accutane you really want to find out when her prescribing doctor says it is ok. Accutane changes the skin and a gentle peel could end up being very strong on skin being treated. **When you can do peels, I suggest the Mandelic 22 or 40 for her. ... then, in the meantime, check with Dr. and see if she can be on a daily retinoid. **Most are fine with this. Here is an easy regimen for acne: am: AB Cleanser (acids to clear pores and exfoliate skin) + Vitamin B Complex (helps to control acne and hydrate skin) pm: AB Cleanser + Retinol .10 (digs deep into pores to aid in exfoliating and tightening, helps skin to turn over more quickly) + B Complex Super simple (3 products) that work so well. Hello. With peels you want to AVOID mucus areas - so you will need to apply a barrier ointment to those tissues to avoid getting acid on them. The TCA % depends on your skin's coloring. I would suggest TCA 13 ... or a milder acid such as lactic or mandelic. Since I am unsure of the exact location you are referring to and WHAT you are treating it for (acne, pigmentation....)... I can't recommend anything further.
@@PlatinumSkinCare im welling to treat pigmentation on the bikini area and aroud the anus and i have olive skin tone so whta can you reccomand for me pleass?
@@najatfouidel460 I would suggest using the Jessners as opposed to tca. I would suggest applying a bit of vaseline to keep the acid from getting too close to the anal canal. The bikini area will be just fine.

Hii im 20 from india. I have a dark circles from past 4 years. My dark circles are really big and dark. My skin type is combination and sensitive. Please mam suggest me which acid i should use. Please reply ❤️
Due to years of playing basketball in the sun my skin has really darkened and I never really paid attention to it but it’s gotten to a point where it seems like you’re looking at two different person’s skin. I would say that based on the scale my face and neck are about a 5 but the rest of my body ( my natural, untanned skin tone is about a 3). I really want to get back my natural skin tone on my face and neck, is this possible, and what would the most effective and quickest solution? Thank you!
Gurmohit Singh I would suggest Fade Bright 2x per day. Retinol .20 molecular serum evenings and spf 50 every day. A chemical peel could be very helpful. Lactic 50 would be a great place to start.
Can we do lactic 50% for Indian medium tone skin without Fade bright or we needed Fade bright?? I want to get my peel done without PIH. I am a beginner (very 1st peel). And when to use Retinol if using acid serum at night (15/30%) for lactic acid skin prepration. Looking forward for your Reply.. 😊
Yes, that will be just fine. It is only the strong acids where you really need to pretreat. If you are using both Serum 15 and Retinol... I suggest to just alternate evenings. One night apply retinol and one night apply the acid serum.
If we r cooking or usually get expose a lot to heat and flames, is there going to be any future disadvantages , i mean if i do a tca peel twice a year, N skin gets frequent exposure to heat and flames any problems for future
No, that will not be an issue from the peels. *Constant exposure to heat can cause pigmentation issues with the skin though. Make sure to use a melanin inhibitor daily to minimize that.
hi may i ask which peel is suitable for hypotrophic (raised) acne scars? im in my 20s and the scars are from years of acne suffering. i know hypotrophic and hypertrophic required different acids. which is suitable for which?
Keloid scars should never be treated. If this is truly a hypertrophic scar... then any of the acids could be helpful. TCA is the gold standard. If you have depressed scars from acne - the TCA CROSS is the best www.platinumskincare.com/tca-cross-method-detailed-demonstration/
You can. Fade Bright is the most important here to help turn down the melanin production and to help prevent/lessen any PIH possibilities. See this video: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peels-on-dark-skin/
Can you do rica peel cross 20% and Salicylic acid peel at the same time? If you can, can I use 20% salicylic since I have been using it for two months once per week?
You can do a full face TCA and CROSS at the same time, so you shouldn't have any issues with salicylic and TCA. *Salicylic is in jessners - and jessners is commonly used to prep the skin for a TCA peel. What I don't suggest though is purposefully trying to get salicylic into the CROSS areas that you just treated. I would recommend either doing the salicylic first --- then rinsing with copious amounts of water for a few minutes to dilute it and THEN.... go ahead and do the CROSS.
For someone that never used peels before , If I want to try a tca peel, do you recommend to start with a different type of peel first before trying tca? I have sensitive skin with fine lines, dull skin. thank you!
It really depends on your skin's issues. With your sensitive skin that is just dull... really any of the milder acids will help with that. A weekly peel like a Mandelic would be a perfect peel for you. Then make sure to start using Retinol .10 every night (or every other night) to get that skin in a regenerative mode where it is always turning over. THIS will get you that GLOW you are looking for.
my inner thighs have hyperpigmentation, i’m light skinned but i’m greek and italian, so my skin does get dark. which one would you recommend to get rid of the hyperpigmentation?
#1 SPF every single day of at least 40-50 if clothing isn't covering the area. Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion every day and then consider using the Fade Bright melanin inhibitor (or a hydroquinone) along with a chemical peel. TCA 20 would be a good option with your skin coloring. You MUST pretreat with the Fade Bright for at least 2 weeks prior to applying that though. @PlatinumSkinCare thank you and thank you for the qualifiers. I am aging and oily. I'll check out these products. How often do you do what peels?
This was excellent!
I need to watch again to see what to order. But well done with teaching. I came here with zero knowledge of peels
Just go with what you want to change and how much flaking you want to deal with. TCA 13 for aging skin. There is nothing better. Salicylic or jessners for acne. Type in your issues and I will give some help.
For melasma which peel is best
Jessners has been more intense than 20% TCA for me. It also stung more. Not a bad thing, but just noting that we're all a little different.
The best ever explanation! Love it.
Thank you!
Hello, I admire the effort spent replying to every comment. Had a couple questions if you're willing
I would say the most undesirable effect would be PIH.
That is where the Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels come in.
my sisters never had a peel before..
she has pigmentation. wrinkles and deep under eyes . she's 30
should I start her on a say tca 13% .. one layer. or 2 If she can handle it. or a 30% glycolic . or I have 50% mandelic. its hard to know somtiems which is best to start with. but also she's thick skin and not sensitive.
I will order some of your 40% too for the future

@@PlatinumSkinCare hi thanks for guiding. Just want to confirm : isn’t the mandelic is meant for acne problem?
@@galtablet1252 Mandelic, Salicylic and Jessners are all excellent for acne.
Such good advice..I have type 5 skin and followed your advice..it has helped me keep my melasma in check.
I am so glad that was helpful for you. We like to share proven methods to treat issues. Thank you for watching.
What peel you are using?

Platinum Skin Care thank you ! I will try this and see what happens . Peace and blessings
Since I have been using a different melanin inhibitor twice daily plus retinol at night, for 5 months, can I start the TCA peel series right away? Or is it necessary to specifically use the Fade Bright for peel prep?
Hello. Absolutely you can. It doesn't have to be ours. :) Alpha Arbutin and Hydroquinone are both equally great.
You're awesome!!! Love your TCA 20% by the way:)
Thank you so much! Love that TCA! Agreed.
See this video on how to do that: www.platinumskincare.com/hand-and-body-peeling-tca-30-versus-glycolic-70-demonstration/
And this video: www.platinumskincare.com/body-peels-which-acid-what-percentage-fitzpatrick/
Remember that you will have to 100% protect your hands going forward.
I would definitely do alternating treatments. www.platinumskincare.com/mixing-different-treatments-peels-needling-ipl-lasers-microdermabrasions/
Amazing video! Just wondering TCA or glycolic acid peel is better for dark spots?😀
I like Jessners or Mandelic for spotting. Jessners + TCA is also a good one.
Which acid do you recommend for sebaceous hyperplasia (flesh colored bumps)? Thanks!
Thoughts?
We do not recommend needling a peel. Wait 4 weeks post peel to microneedle. You can microneedle Super CP Serum or Regenerate but not a peel.
Thanks for the advice!

Dr. Dray isn’t an idiot. That was a very mean comment.

New to home peels. I was floored to learn I can do this myself. !! However, I am 71 yrs. young. My skin is in excellent condition with fine lines and I want help to eliminate or decrease the size. I order TCA. Did I Purchase the right acid?
Yes, TCA 13 is a perfect place to start. Start with 1-2 layers.
Which peel is best for dark skin, without developing hyperpigmentation?Thank you.
It is always best if darker skin types use a melanin inhibitor like alpha arbutin (in our Fade Bright) or hydroquinone to lessen the melanin production prior to peels. But, "generally" the milder acids are just fine. The acid choice really depends on what you are wanting to treat?
Acne = Salicylic 15 or Mandelic 40.
Very sensitive skin = Mandelic 22.
General refreshening = Glycolic 30
These are each great options.
Wow thank you for this video got a jessner peel yesterday
Mayathestylist_ Maya Riley excellent! Enjoy the flaking.
I’ve been doing peels for yrs , never heard of a Mel it in inhibitor . Luckily I’ve never experienced any side effects
Where can I get training hands on these peels… ?
Thank you so much for this video
Hello. I am sorry? Are you looking for training videos? Please go to our PeelUniversity.com to learn everything about peels, your skin and the acids.

I am a new subscriber here. And its my first time to try a peel. Where do i start? I’m turning 50 this March.
Give the video a watch. Start with a milder acid such as mandelic 40 or glycolic 30.
Which acid for remove tanning?? Tca? Or glycolic? Please reply🙁

@@PlatinumSkinCare your fade bright are not available in our country 🙁 any alternative?
@@slowboy__ We sell it on our website - it is also on the TCA page. :)

You may want to give our Jessner Peel a try. :)

We have a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/h1HmUo9y0NM/v-deo.html
Fade Bright = yes!
Tca = no.
Thank you . Which one you suggest for my legs ?
We recommend TCA 30 if you have a light skin tone. Medium to darker skin tones should use TCA 20 and also will need to pretreat with Fade Bright for 2 weeks prior to using the TCA Peel.
Which chemical peel would be best for the bikini line? I have darkening from ingrown hair. I'm a light-skinned black person
I would suggest the Saliyclic 15% for ingrown hairs. It is an antiinflammatory acid and it will dig into the pores to help. Leave that on for about 5+ minutes and rinse. Wash with an acid cleanser in the shower daily to help keep the dead skin to a minimum.
om biracial andf have used 30% strong tca peels for a few years now and never had any problems so not its not almost always lol

Platinum Skin Care Thank you so much. I appreciate your concise answer!
@@Anastashya You are very welcome.
Hiya. How long before/after a Mandelic40 or Sal15 peel should we stop/begin Retin-A? Thanks

**Most are fine with this.

am: AB Cleanser (acids to clear pores and exfoliate skin) + Vitamin B Complex (helps to control acne and hydrate skin)
pm: AB Cleanser + Retinol .10 (digs deep into pores to aid in exfoliating and tightening, helps skin to turn over more quickly) + B Complex

Yes, that will be just fine. It is only the strong acids where you really need to pretreat. If you are using both Serum 15 and Retinol... I suggest to just alternate evenings. One night apply retinol and one night apply the acid serum.

We are thrilled that this is so helpful. :)
I have darker skin. I want to do a tca peel. Can I use fade bright and serum 15 together?
Platinum Skin Care Thank you I can’t wait to do it!
