If you add 2 tsp. of ground flax seed in your falafel, plus a Tbsp. of aqua faba or water, they will hold together a little better. Also, cookie scoops are great to use to make the balls, because you can pack the scoop against the side of the food processor, which helps them hold together better. I also add 1/2 tsp. of red pepper flakes.
This is cool. I started eating this way in March after a hospital stay. It is September and I have lost 46 pounds. I still have a ways to go, so recipes will help.
The Starch Solution is the best. Mary McDougall has developed the most amazing recipes! All of her recipes are in the McDougall app. Thank you for featuring this cookbook!
I'm from Oshkosh Wisconsin! My favorite starchy meal is sushi rice or Jasmine rice with veggies and airfried tofu of chickpea.I just change up the sauce & I never tire of it.
Thanks for this! I've just read the starch solution! I LOVE learning about nutrition and I've been learning constantly since going vegan 9.5 years ago. WFPB is amazing and is win, win, winning....ticking all the boxes 😊 I feel my best when I eat lots of raw fruits and salad veggies along with the more starchy veggies and grains and keeping the healthy fat sources low. Really enjoy watching your videos and really appreciate you and your family 🙏💚💫
Can’t wait to try these recipes, especially the oatmeal bake, rice noodle and pesto pasta. I’m going to toast the pine nuts and add lemon zest to the pasta. Thanks for all the great ideas! And definitely those cookies are getting in there. Ohhh this is Jackie from the big apple NY.
Jeremy! This video couldn’t of come at a better time! I have a few cups of chickpeas, soaking in the refrigerator right now, with the goal of making falafel. I was mentally ready to cook them first… Nope! Total saving of a step! Thank you, thank you!
I’m so happy you are doing videos related to the starch solution, I have read the book and have been interested in eating more geared towards those principles. I would a part two. Where I find I struggle is with adding sauces to the starches and vegetables. I don’t like plain vegetables, but keeping with the starch solution they want us to keep the fats and nuts to a low or Minimum. So what are we supposed to add to the potatoes and vegetables that has no or very little fat? I would love some suggestions. Eating potatoes and broccoli plain is not tasty to me. P.s I love your videos, you do a very good job of editing and the quality is excellent. They are very easy to watch and love how you and your family live a normal quirky life. It’s a nice change from seeing all the “perfect family kitchens” keep it up the good work! Big fan!
A fantastic review of the Starch Solution Jeremy with lots of 😋 vegan food that helps with weight loss. Always lovely to see all the family and hopefully everyone is having a good week. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤️ Jeremy & family.
Im in the USA and never heard of the gloop slump glump plop dough thing so im gonna give it a try looks so yummy and fun. Thanks Jeremy for another great video and I’m so glad picky Annie liked the cookie but if she didn’t more for you so maybe it’s bad she liked them hahahah
Nice video again! Be a plant based woman warrior is a "jeremy made me buy it" i will be making the savory oatmeal this weekend. Very curious to have a savory breakfast. There are more "jeremy made me buy it" s already😂. Thanks for you inspiration again! ❤🎉
Look forward to trying most of these recipes. Great job! A couple questions. Would these recipes be good ones to 1/2? I'm only one eating this. Also, is there somewhere to find the measurements for the Smoky Toasted Almonds? Look yummy! A part 2 would be much appreciated. Thanks Jeremy!!😊
I lost 80 lbs during Covid when I really learned to cook whole foods but I religiously kept track of calories. So I ate more foods that had low calories density than those with more. When I got to goal, I stopped counting calories and started to put on pounds because I was eating too much. I followed young vegan women who were volume eaters, like Broccoli Mum. Only problem is I’m 70 years old. I’ve started to keep track of my food again and have lost weight.
I am SO GLAD to see you doing this book! Also, would love a, “Hello to Riverbilly from horse country in Central Kentucky!” Please, sir. 😃 Edit: Whoops, jumped the gun on the book but am loving all of these recipes.
Hi Jeremy. I love your videos I was watching this one, especially in regards to the soup, I could not find measurements written down anywhere, and I was curious how much maple syrup you put in the soup?
It’s so refreshing watching you (and Woolie) cooking in a real (sometimes messy) kitchen with a hodgepodge of dishes, utensils, etc. Continue to keep it real Jeremy (I’m here for it), and I will happily watch a “part 2.” 😊
South wales Uk. Love vegetables and rice as Filipino but many veg never agreed with me. Pulses and veg in nightshade family will trigger my psoriasis like crazy. I eat only non starchy vegetables, I only eat rice once in a while. I love eggplant and sweet pepper but I can’t due to my psoriasis.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I can imagine how challenging it must be to have certain veggies you love, like eggplant and sweet peppers, trigger your psoriasis. It sounds like you’ve found a good balance with non-starchy vegetables, though. It’s tough when your body doesn’t agree with foods that you enjoy, but I’m glad you’re finding ways to make it work for you. If you ever find yourself experimenting with different ways to incorporate more variety that won’t trigger your symptoms, feel free to share! I love hearing how others adjust and make plant-based work for their unique needs. Sending all the best from here to South Wales!
@ thank you for the kind words ❤️. I’m not totally a plant based as I eat meat products too like fish. As I have autoimmune dysfunction, I’m very careful of what I’ve eat but I love some non-starchy veg and once in a awhile I will have some roast potatoes in my Sunday lunch.
Jeremy & Woolie, you make being healthy so do-able. You have a fantastic personality. I always look forward to your videos. You all are very relatable and enjoyable. Thank you for making WFPB cooking AND eating feel less daunting, fun and delicious. Hello from Pismo Beach, California

Well I made the shepherds pie. It’s delicious. But I had peas and carrots instead of peas and corn . Thanks for this recipe
Sounds great! Good swaps! Glad you enjoyed it :)
please make 2nd part
I just assumed tapping the bottom of the blender was normal before opening it, I usually crack it open to allow air pressure to equalise

Sub for walnuts in the Shepards pie? Severly allergic.
Oh... I mean.... Pecans but you probably can't eat those either, can you?

Can someone tell me why my blood sugar rises when I eat starch foods? No one can tell me this
Who have you asked?
Blood sugar rises after any meal, it's how our bodies work. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Mic the Vegan has a really good video about this

Isn’t it interesting how many junk food ads UA-cam serves up on channels like this?
Sorry about that - we have no control - and the ads are unique to each viewer based on where they live and viewing habits, etc.... apparently :)
@ No worries. 😊👍I know you don’t have any control. The skip button is one of my favourite YT tools. 😀
