The slower you go the faster you get there❤. I have been following your vlogs for about 8 months. I'm pretty much following sos plan. Down 16 kilos. I feel great. Thank you Emmie
The slower you go, the faster you get there. I loved this video so much, Emmie. My 40th birthday is almost exactly 10 months away and I've been internally struggling, wanting to get to my goal ASAP before then. I need all the reminders that slow and steady and focusing on health IS the goal. Thank you thank you!
I turned 38 this year right before having my second child. Postpartum weight loss was different this time, I'm stuck about 15 lbs heavier than I was after my first. Altogether 45 pounds heavier than I was before my first child. Very uncomfortable with my body. I just started a low fat vegan diet and I'm slowly adding in tips like these to my regimen. Best of luck to you!
So glad I found you today! I just had an EGD and found out I need a major change in my eating if I want a healthy life going forward. I don't need to lose weight, it's the Whole Food Plant Based Diet that I need! You are one of the most engaging, personable people on UA-cam ~ thanks for all your great info!❤
Literally, my sister & I are so tired of YEARS of yo yo dieting. Losing & gaining same weight over & over. Miserable right now as we both are now at our heaviest. Debilitating, hopeless, health issues. I think when we are younger it’s more for vanity and easier; now in our 40’s it’s for health and we find it so difficult to just get started. This video is just what I needed to try to get on track. Thank you so much for the encouragement. It was so helpful to get me in a positive mindset.
For 5 years I have done the 50/50 plate. I have not lost or gained weight. Since August 29, 2023 I have lost 53 lbs and it is not from following the idea of eat until you feel full. It is from eating a 50/50 plate that does not exceed 1200 calories a day. Calories in/ calories out. Also increased my protein consumption in those 1200 calories.
@@HealthyEmmie this is me too. 62 yo female genetics for obesity. 3 years of consistent 50/ 50 plates...but too drop any weight I have to count those calories and limit to about 1300 to 1400 calories. I lift weights 3x week and try to get 10000 steps a day. I'm always hungry.
I have Been plant based almost 4 years and I lost 30lbs in about 8 months. I went all in from day one and found it super easy. I have since gained back 20lbs because I fell into the vegan fried and junk foods for some silly reason, but it’s nice to know I have this option that I know works to get me back on track. I only walked for my exercise while losing weight, but now I do some weights and walking just for toning and strengthening. If you are skeptical all about the starch solution/ SOS then I hope my testimony will help you believe that it works. 😊 EDIT: I also had my blood work done after a year and it was perfect!!
The slower you go - the faster you get there. It’s so fun to watch videos like this looking at my old point of view of health and dieting and comparing it to my now version!
Hi Emmmie, thank you for all the information you provide on your channel. I ‘ ve been watching for the last week many of your videos . I’ve been vegan for couple of years. I was doing CrossFit and felt that I had not much strength. I did a dexa test and it showed a higher percentage of fat and inflammation than I expected. I am 54 years old ( now in menopause) and 2O pounds overweight. I was advised to eat red meat, but I chose to continue the vegan diet/ starchy diet. I incorporated fish, felt abit and rarely I would have a bite of chicken or beef, and I felt that I gained more strength. Did my annual blood test and found out I had fatty liver and high cholesterol. Although I would love to continue to have a plant based diet, not sure yet what to do. I would like to reverse my fatty liver and lower my cholesterol.
The slower you go the faster you get there. I did the fast route first time round and then fell off. Won't make that mistake again- in it for the long game ❤
Hi there, I'm curious what you recommend for those who are peri/post menopause and need to gain more muscle. Of course, I've started weight training and do some cardio, but since I'm naturally slender and petite, I need to gain muscle mass to help prevent osteoporosis too. I'm already vegan since 2018 but have gained weight (mostly visceral fat) unfortunately since mid-late 40's. Of course I'm working on that by eliminating seed oils, processed foods, sugary drinks, but will a high carb diet still be appropriate for older people? I hear we need to intake more protein to make/maintain muscle mass. How true is this?
Hi Emmie! I am currently about 25 lbs above my ideal weight. I am 7 months postpartum and I’m ready to get back into shape! My only concern is that I’m exclusively breastfeeding. I don’t want to lose my milk supply. I’ve eaten a no oil starch based diet before kids and was able to lose weight really fast! So I know how to do it, but my question is can I do the same diet while breastfeeding? Should I be adding a few non processed healthy fats like avocado? I’m also prioritizing drinking a ton of water which should help. Yesterday I had 2 potato meals and one rice meal and I’m down 3 lbs (I’m sure it is just water weight). Carrots and apples as snacks. I’d LOVE it if you could do a video on postpartum weight loss!
I find this is very easy to do (50/50 plate) when I work from home or when I am off. When at home, I eat when hungry and I have options based on whatever I feel like having at that time. When I have to go into work, I am forced to eat at a certain time of day and there is certain food I cannot bring to the office (due to odor) so the process of eating this way is more stressful at work. Still learning what works for me.
Excellent video👏🏽👏🏽would love to hear how you became interested in nutrition specifically a wf plant based diet if you’ve never had a weight issue (I think you said this;) just curious! Love your vids🙌🏻
