    As I understand the Mary's Mini, it is for those who need a reset to move forward with weight loss. It is advised to weigh only at beginning and end, if at all. I know of some who have done it long term, but it is meant to be short term. Did you know it takes about 2 weeks for taste buds to reset? What seems bland at first can surprise you once you can taste the unique flavors of real plants.

    • @jj-bp3fr
      @jj-bp3fr 29 днів тому +3

      Yes, I've done that and to my surprise what I used to think tasted good like oreos, cookies, etc, tasted so horrible and toxic after I eliminated junk food from my diet. I can't even finish 1 bite of oreos, I have to spit it out. Any type of junk food, my body immediately hates it and I feel disgusting on only 1 tiny bite! Impressive for sure when your body is cleaning out.

    Potatoes already have a ton of potassium which helps flush out sodium- so when eating mainly potatoes, it ensured that your body was flushing sodium like crazy, and this was more than likely the cause of your lightheadedness and other issues. If you're well-hydrated and not taking in enough salt, you are going to have electrolyte issues. Your blood pressure could have also dropped too much as well because of this. It definitely was not an issue of not enough fat/protein/whatever macronutrient. Problems with a deficiency in those take much longer to arise. Hope that helps you and anyone else thinking of trying this! :)

    I did Mary’s mini once for weight loss and I was told half of the plate was your starch and half non starchy veg. If you wanted seconds it would have to be 50% starch 50% veg no matter the amount. Same ratio for any meal and snack. And I def lost weight this way. If you want more weight loss then 25% starch and 75% veg.

    • @peternaumcevski7344
      @peternaumcevski7344 Місяць тому +5

      Are u sure u ate only “whole foods?” This is a very critical term. If all u eat is boiled potatoes and steamed vegetables, only dried herbs and spices added it’s impossible to be in the overweight category. As in BMI above 23. No way. The calorie density is way too low. Just do that which is what Mary’s mini is supposed to be. I don’t believe this man did that. It looks too rich. That’s not the way it’s done. The best way is just to eat potatoes only.

    • @VegaNurse.
      @VegaNurse. Місяць тому

      I'm sure you know about calorie density but it's an absolute critical piece of knowledge and skill in the kitchen, if you haven't yet cut out oils/fats, severely limited seeds and nuts it's the way to go.

    I agree that once you are at your ideal weight, you dont lose. I tried a few times in the past and the same , i just fluctuated as normal. I think the lack of energy you had was because you were weight training, and the diet lacks enough protein. Unfortunately, I get headaches when I eat white potatoes now, which is sad as I do like some fries or to add them into soups.

      I was looking to figure out if you were eating too much nutritional yeast or too much tomato sauce. @@pbwithjeremynot at all not at all you look great

    Obviously you are not going to be able to eat whole grain pasta because it is 1. Processed and 2. It has flour in it.

    I wonder if your condiments had salt???Pickles and catchup have lots of it. This may have affected your results.

    I think the amount of sodium in your mustard and salsa and pickles would cause water retention for sure. Also it makes the food taste good so you are not eating just bland boring food. lol

    Did you slightly slow down the audio in this? All the speech, in the old and new video, sounds a little weird, like you were a little out of it. Maybe it's me.

      So I should have looked at another video before posting this. Apparently it is my computer. Going to reboot. BTW, liked watching this. Never go into the Starch Solution and wondered what the Mary's mini was all about. I love potatoes, so think I could do this without feeling too terribly deprived, but I also would have problems with really simple recipes as I am a fellow food nerd.

      @@sharonknorr1106 alot of the audios are slowed down over youtube. Its really common. To fix it alot of us just go into the settings menu and speed it up.
