Hi Casey, new to your channel. I feel blessed to have found it. I absolutely LOVE what you do here and for sure, I have subscribed. I LOVE how you show your work on the machine unlike some others who only uses her index finger to point to their project and run her finger along the fabric explaining where to stitch. NO! You don't do that! I LOVE how you actually take that extra step to take us with you on your sewing journey and you sew with the viewers at the machine! It may seem like a small detail, but you don't skimp on details. Thank you! Aside from that, you are very talented.

I just cut out the fabric for this today. I’m going to line it with flannel and try my hand at slanted welt pockets. Cross my fingers it looks half as good as yours.

Beautiful shacket. The curve at the bottom aligns perfectly with the curve of your hip and leg.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO! Like you said, you have to choose something that you WANT to wear to keep you motivated to finish the project. I also loved your other video about the fall pieces and focusing on a few classic essential pieces. That is my goal!!!

What a gorgeous shacket! You are excellent at sewing tutorials/sew alongs I must say, very clear and explanatory! Their are a couple of things I would do differently though, I think the point where the collar meets the buttonplacket looks very week so I would extend the placket in a curve to meet the shoulder seam, like a facing. That way you can do the clip in the collar seam allowans in a spot where it’s not so much strain. The other thing I would consider is adding a strip of cotton fabric (or similar) inside the button placket, especially as the fabric is a bit loosely woven. That will make it stronger for wear and tear with the buttoning. Hope you don’t mind me coming with these suggetions 😊 Thanks a lot for sharing!

Hi Casey! I just purchased this pattern and a few of your variations will be going under several Christmas trees this year! I want to use it to make a vest as well, but I'm not that great at pattern hacking yet. What changes would you suggest I make at the arm scythe and shoulder? Thank so much.

I really want to get back into sewing after not doing it for 15 years. My mom taught me when I was high school. Unfortunately almost every source, whether UA-cam or blog, is from a female POV making female clothing. 😭 Love your work anyway. 👏🏾
