As a person who’s gone through many traumatic experiences myself I think it’s important to realize that, while your trauma can impact you, you are *not* your trauma. And you are not broken because you have gone through trauma. It’s sad that society has made it slightly okay for women to talk about their mental illnesses and problems but the moment a man does it he’s a “weak beta male” or something idiotic like that, hopefully that changes in the future and everyone will be able to talk about their problems and get the help they need.

I've had several dozens of people tell me I'm "killing the vibe," " being weird and creepy," and "abusing them by talking about my problems because it's not their responsibility." No one wants to hear about your problems, just take it to a therapist, journal, and/or your pet or a neighborhood animal.
I had to go to group therapy to feel comfortable speaking about it because it's a designated space. I suggest it to whoever wants a support system. Social support is only as strong as the people around you and no one is guaranteed anything. Even and sometimes especially so; human decency.
