For examplewith the tree sexism thing: its NOT about women at all but actually about *the gender of the trees* because there's a bias towards planting only 'Male trees (some but not all trees have distinct sexes) which are aggressive pollen producers. In that context it's not even that "absurd" and the title of the article is just like.. True. I think it really shows how conservatives have their heels dug in and refuse to actually engage in any meaningful conversation because they've already decided how things Are.

Botanical sexism is a thing! Male trees are preferred over female trees in urban planning because female trees shed fruit, seeds, and pods. When you don't have any female trees in an area, the pollen released by male trees is not captured by female flowers - Hence botanical sexism does lead to hay fever and allergies! If he actually read the article he'd actually understand the science rather than assuming it's a political issue. I wouldn't be surprised if he saw an article on cis and trans isomers and made another 'woke' joke.
Edit: Lots of people in the replies are debating the actual scientific basis of botanical sexism as its a debated theory. Regardless of that, he still didn't even bother to read let alone understand what the article was about and just assumed it was political.

The thing about how they act like remembering pronouns is complete bullshit. I’m terrible at remembering things, but when my sister came out as trans, I was able to adapt to using she/her pronouns in a couple days, and I only slipped up a couple times. It’s not hard, unless you’re going out of your way to forget or ignore.

"how would i use that in a sentence," "are there other pronouns/ ways i can refer to you that you are comfortable with." i doubt you give up trying to pronounce someone's name just because you're unfamiliar with it (and if you do that's a whole other issue)

From what I know, terms like "womynx" are actually disliked by those they're meant to appeal/refer to (usually trans women) as it others them. Trans women are just as much women as cis women and they want to use the same term. I'm cislatina, but in the LGBTQ+ community, and I absolutely hate that stupid terms like "latinx" are being pushed by woke, thirdgen latinos in twitter who have no connection to our language or cultures. For example, almost all the NB community prefers Latine, since it applies to the rules of our spanish language (not trying to exclude Brazilian bros), but also does not require to add an x at the end of a noun. Which, is impossible to pronounce, and angers me since I have a lisp. Womynx is kinda stupid though. The x is to represent trans women & nonbinary people which is mildly off-putting, seeing as nonbinary people aren't women and trans women are.
The y is a misunderstanding of the etymology of the word women/woman. It's there to sever ties with the patriarchy, but that's not the root of the word. Women does not come from womb men. In old english man was completely gender neutral (akin to person), while wif was the word for women and wer was the word for man. Eventually wif was combined with man to form wifman (woman person) and was shortened to woman, while the word man stuck around as it was, with wer being abandoned (except for in some words, like werewolf). Womyn doesn't really cut ties with the patriarchy, because women was never really tied to it in the first place.
Ofc if nonbinary people, or even trans men or anyone who has presented socially feminine wants to participate in women's history month they absolutely can, that's their perogative and I encourage them too, but it's very strange to make a new word to include trans women because they already are women. When you do that you're suggesting they weren't.

okay but botanical sexism is actually a thing??? from my understanding, arborists mostly planted “male” plants in cities and populated areas because they dont have seeds, while “female” plants do. but the male plants have pollen, and, as they started to clone the plants, the pollen levels got higher and higher each time. female trees, when with male trees, literally reduce the pollen levels because the seeds attract the pollen. so, yes, it is sexism. female trees were literally discriminated agains based off of their reproductive organs. its science and history but not like conservatives care about this stuff.

I'm a bit high strung about this because I used to have a menstrual cycle and it was truly awful. I would have really appreciated person-first language when I was going through that.

I may dislike the term "bleeders," but people who say it really do have their hearts in the right place trying not to erase and otherise people like me who have menstruated despite not being women.
I think leaving behind the term "biological woman" for people with uteruses is also good for some cis (ie not trans) women too!
When I had my hysterectomy I got a bunch of dire warnings beforehand about how not having a uterus any more can trigger awful feelings of "loss of femininity" in women. Obvs that wasn't an issue for me cause I'm a bloke, but it can be a real serious problem for women who have to get hysterectomies.
Maybe those women wouldn't feel so bad if our culture didn't act like having a uterus is what makes a person a Biological Woman™️, y'know?

I have this image in my mind of what this man does after filming these videos. Tyler turns off the camera and just sits there staring at the wall. he sits there, not even producing a cohesive thought or experiencing a moment of introspection. the light changes, and Tyler remains. it is nighttime now, and he's still sitting there. Tyler is sitting in the dark now and somehow, in a marvelous display of the spectrum of human intelligence, he has not had a single thought. he doesn't even require food because the lack of brain activity means that he burns no calories. maybe he doesn't need to breathe. Tyler has evolved past the need to undergo cellular respiration; the process of inhaling and exhaling is merely cosmetic. I say this not to imply that he is a more evolved human in the "good of humanity" sense, but to drive home how utterly useless his internet presence is.

The way you summed up the video at the end really added some great perspective. I've often noticed that conservative people are really bad at art, but I could never put my finger on why. I think it's important not to get to caught up in any bubbles. Especially on the internet, there's so much going on, sometimes people naturally feel displaced to begin with which is why they end up adopting and promoting beliefs rooted in naivety.

I read once that it was to avoid the way that “men” is kind of the root of the word “women,” which in some interpretations implies that men are the default/foundation of humanity and women are secondary or somehow still based on the concept of men.
