    You make it look easy, which is a sign of a man who is proficient in something. Thanks for making the video, I liked your explanations as to why you were doing things.

    this is easily the most accessible guide on cravers, that doesn't get hung up on the very basics and actually explains some strategy
    much appreciated and i hope more guides are on the way

    Holy smoked, this guide made the Craves make sense! Really well explained, with great detail and humor! I immediatly wanted to watch your guides on other factions, but was sorely dissapointed when you only did three so far;-). Great video, cannot wait to see more!

    Hey man, great guides!! It’s great seeing some in-depth guides post all the patching. I’d love to see you do a guide for the Unfallen with their vine mechanics

      Thanks for the feedback! Personally I'm not the biggest fan of the unfallen so perhaps it would be good for me to learn them.

      It's good, would be better with easier starting colonizations! It's nice to have 5 planet systems of course. ;) I did another game that had a very terrible start and it made the video very long so I restarted and rolled this one.

    I'll happily admit I bought ES2 after I watched Sseth's video on it when it came out. By then I was already quite late to the party I guess, and I played it for a bit, put it aside, went back and played some more, etc, and the more I play it the more I realize how mediocre my understanding of the mechanics actually is. It goes a lot deeper than I first thought. I've won matches with just AI enemies, at the standard difficulty, which seemed like a reasonable place to start learning. But after watching some of the videos people make on how to play certain factions, I'm picking up on a ton of interesting features I wasn't aware of, and I'm realizing I've played the game with both hands tied behind my back and still won, which suggests the standard diff is quite an easy one.
    Definitely interested in exploring umbral choir, cravers and hissho in more detail, so guides like yours come in handy.

    Great video, finding decent guides to getting started with ES2 is such.a pain given the age of the game and number of DLCs. Defiantly worth a sub!
    I hope you've got plans to do a batch of vanilla with all DLC tutorials once the "(Re)Awakening" patch drops as a kind of definitive onboarding tutorial series for new/returning players. I can't see Endless Space 2 getting another update once that is released so its not like they're going to become redundant.

    • @theendlessspaceacademy

      I've tried the new patch and it just doesn't compare to the ESG mod yet, the low animation speed really hurts as waiting for probes to go takes a significant amount of time on 4x compared to 64x speed. Unless it's almost identical to the ESG mod I most likely won't use it.

    Great videos, and it’s cool to see you’re uploading! Any tips on how to convert a start into a win condition? I often find myself struggling to figure out when I need to start going for a specific victory when I’ve gotten out of the “build good stuff” phase of the game

    • @theendlessspaceacademy
      @theendlessspaceacademy  10 місяців тому +2

      The easiest way to win is to take all other capitals and get a supremacy victory. I usually find that to be the most fun way to win, sitting and winning by gathering enough dust feels silly to me, at least in Endless Space. The best way to take capitals is to create your attacker fleet with at least 3 coordinates for support and the rest carriers with beams and shield emps. Then you make another fleet that has as many manpower modules as possible, make sure to give each ship the fastest engine you can afford. Planes are the best troop as they do the most damage so use these. With most coordinators with around 32 CP you should have around 600-800 troops landing which is almost impossible for an opponent to win. You will want seeker heroes to lead these fleets as they get the 1.5 fleet movement speed module and can also accept an extra fleet cloaking module. Then you send both of the fleets right toward the capital you want and just take the capitol first, this is usually the most crippling. Another reason to use cloaking is when you invade, you uncloak your invasion ships and re cloak your attacker ships, this keeps your attackers full on manpower so they can fight at 100% if you get countered. I will likely continue this craver game soon so I can show late game military strategies as it's where I see most people struggle as they don't know effective designs. Thanks for the response!

    I thought this guide was great, but I was wondering if this video was you coming back officially? I love most of your old videos and was hoping you would do coverage on the new update with some of the other factions.

    With the new update to combat, are beans still the go to for early ships?

    • @theendlessspaceacademy
      @theendlessspaceacademy  3 місяці тому

      Early game it's a toss up, beams are still the best weapons but if someone goes full beams with full shields to counter beams, a full kinetic fleet would win. Late game kinetics are worse off and laser or bombers are best.

    Can you please make a guide about trees?

    • @theendlessspaceacademy
      @theendlessspaceacademy  9 місяців тому +1

      The trees are my least favorite unfortunately! They don't really have a unique strategy, their best way to win is to take advantage of an alliance and entwine as many systems are possible, and declaring war counters this fairly hard. Maybe eventually!

  • @monkeybarmonkeyman
    @monkeybarmonkeyman 8 місяців тому +1

    I would like to suggest your next video cover the most recent update to ES2, as IIRC, some mods will no longer function properly with the game. Have you considered this?

    • @theendlessspaceacademy
      @theendlessspaceacademy  8 місяців тому +1

      If the update covers more of the mod then yes, right now the update is now where near complete, for example the mod has animation speed x64 while the update has max x6 or something low, this can slow the game down a bunch. There are a lot of little things like that. For now I will continue with the ESG mod.

    How do you choose which population type becomes manpower (reducing cravers and leaving minors)?the action seems to pick randomly.

    • @theendlessspaceacademy
      @theendlessspaceacademy  3 місяці тому +1

      Unfortunately you can't choose, one of the issues with the games population management. You should make specific worlds that you ship only cravers to for the purpose of culling pops. This way, your core worlds have a high chance to spawn non cravers pops while the other crap worlds are there just for resources and to hold pops. You want to move cravers out from your core worlds before they deplete, anything with 3 or less planets I just let deplete.
