Just managed to follow this and do my own! The 12mm gave me a bit of grief as I couldn’t see it from above but all in all took about 15 mins and now she’s stopped screaming at me 😊
Always enjoy seeing vids as it is for the majority of us !! Wrench dropping then having to stretch under car on wet road to retrieve it ! Ive got a lot of that now as just bought a 1978 VW camper, so ive always got something to do now !!
My fan makes an annoying noise when ever I have it on 3 or 4, and my car also makes a squeaky noise when I start it whenever it is cold outside or when it has been raining, do u think that this band is the issue?
Beside all the regular checking, like condition and tension of that belt. Make sure you have a fully functional and charged battery. Surprisingly or not it's the most common cause of a noisy belt when you cold start your car! Battery in bad condition, dirty terminals, low charge, etc. Will put a lot of stress on the alternator, that extra demand, will have a squeaky belt as an end result! ;-) On mine and clients cars, solved many "squeaky" belts, with a new battery! ;-)
As far as stretching I think it’s more that when they wear slightly, the ridges in the pulleys cause the grooves in the belt to go a little deeper allowing a little bit of slack rather than the belt getting longer, but yes compared to old V type belts serpentine belts don’t stretch much. V belts are gripped on the sides by the V in the puller and wear on the edges making them thinner thus pulling into the pulleys further.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yea, whilst I was driving. It had one loud belt squeak, then it stopped. (Again I’m not sure if it’s the belt) it was very unusual
Very helpful. Used your video to adjust the belt on my sons Aygo 2007 and your instructions made it a simple 5 minute job. Very grateful. Thank you.
Glad the video helped!
Another very informative, automotive, technical, instructional video Sir Tim 🎩

I like to leave my videos as “organic” as possibly 😂
I've done the adjustment before but this was a great reminder.
I had to take the bumber off before.
Just replaced mine using your tutorial.
Honestly this channel is the only thing keeping my shitroen alive.
Sweet 😂

The fan noise no, but the squeak most probably 👍

@@crpth1 the alternator being loaded up by a flat battery will exaggerate it if the belt is slightly loose.
Thank you, used your video for this, made sure I too dropped my socket set under the car via the engine bay :)
Thanks
It’s all part of the correct procedure.
Having mine done tomorrow, ill miss being able to toe tap to the squeak
Are there anymore or these hidden functions?

mine did it once without gassing up, and then stopped.
Squeaked once?

@@gomanfong4077 I’d probably keep an ear out for it doing it again.

Think your next video should be fitting a timing belt, maybe a phase 3 v70?
