Here was my day: Watched video. Went to auto Zone and got dielectric lube. Drove home. Applied Dielectric lube and let it work through the belt. Total time=30min. My wife thinks I'm working on this all day, but I'm really drinking coffee and watching TV in the garage..lol
I could barely hear the lady in the drive-through over the constant belt squeal in my van. I found this video, grabbed my food and drove .25 of a mile to autozone. After spending $1.50 on a one-time use packet of dielectric protectant and them giving me a single nitrile glove, my belt sqeal was gone before my fries were cold.

Works like a charm I’ve been using this for over 10 years went to the dealership they replaced my water pump my belt checked alignment of pulleys and they could not stop the squeak one of the older mechanics put a little dielectric grease on the inside of the belt no more squeak. I don’t care what anybody says it works for me.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!! I had the same symptoms as described at the start. Placed the grease as instructed and on the 1st start-up the squeak was gone!
Thank you so much. I have a Escalade and every time I go through the auto wash my belt would squeak for 3 days. I replaced the belt 2 times in the past 3 years and I’ve replaced the tensioner. Thank you so much you're a genius. Not replacing a belt on my 160k mile kia soul 2011 with the 1.6l engine. Fixed the chirping / squeaking belt Instantly, amazing video
You know I agree with u,sad thing is that the Belt dressing u tossed is made for that specific reason (BELTS),Sad thing is Dielectric is Not,U see something wrong here, but this guy invented that idea tried it out and had the decency to show the world how to stop the chirping and saved us Money,Worked instantly 4 me as well im so happy, take care,Cheers hats off!
THANK YOU! The squeaky belt is sooooo embarrassing especially when my truck is only a year old! $12.99 I’ll pay that any day of the week to keep that squeak AWAY! You are GREAT!
Had the worst constant squeak in my work van, even with new pulleys, a new belt, and tensioner. Tried every kind of lubricant, baby powder, deodorant, soap, anything. A couple dabs of grease and instant peace and quiet 👌🏽
I own a 2004 Nissan Frontier 2.4 liter. My belt has been squealing for a long time. I have 3 belts. Unfortunately the back belt squeals. After looking closely at the belt, it has a small bump on the top. In the past I have used belt dressing on my 66 Chevy. Worked for about 1-2 days and squeals again. Anyway after using the same Dielectric Grease, the squeal stopped immediately. Thanks for your help! 👍🏻 Saved me from breaking my back on replacing another belt.
THIS 100% WORKS!!! I have a '12 JKU Wrangler- belt would constantly squeak- no matter temp time of day or what I did. W-D 40, soap, boardwax, Burts bee's.... nothing worked for any amount of longevity!!! Until I tried the DIELECTRIC GREASE!!! This is the ticket- works immediately and last for several months!!! Thank you for the heads up!!!
Hey there, awesome video! Seems you read and respond so I have a quick one. 2022 Nissan Sentra. 3 months old. As of Christmas Eve / Day I now am getting this squeal/chirp around 35-40 mph when I'm pressing the accelerator. Not very loud but it's definitely new and there. I guess my question for you would be if this is fairly normal since the temperature has dipped into the teens for the last few weeks. I'm just befuddled because the car is new and I've already had a runaround at the dealership so this feels like another compounding issue. My previous Versa Nota made this sound most of the time I had it and was always told it would be a 2k+ repair.
I have an 01express van, 4.3, I replaced the belt, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley, and it still squeaks, gonna try this trick, thank you for sharing, great job!
@@justanotheruser101 yes, it works, but its temporary, it works for a few days, but then the squealing comes back, I reapply and I'm good for 2 to 3 days, its better than listening to the squeals, thanks:)
Likely time for a new belt in that case. Be sure not to use too much or slippage can occur. And check all components, you may have one causing drag and slipping, or a tensioner not giving the proper tension. O wanted to give an up date, on my 01 4.3 express, after 2 applications, it is now, quiet, thank you again for sharing this video, it works , great, great job!!!
Worked for me too for 2008 S63 AMG, bought the same crc dielectric grease at oreilly, put grease on two spots on the belt, ran the car warm and also on a cold start next morning and no cold start squeak. My belt is 4 months old.
This stuff works. Ive been having this squeal ony 07 tacoma. I checked all components. Belt is good. Not sure what else to try and this fixed the issue.
So glad this video has reached so many people around the world and makes me happy I could share something Ive used for so many years. Thanks for supporting my UA-cam channel.
Chevy suburban 5.3 here. Almost 220k. I've have over the last few years replaced the power steering pump, tensioner and idler (not just the pulley), alternator, water pump, and a couple different brand (dayco and continental) belts. My squeal started with a power steering pump blowout. I figured the belt got contaminated, replaced the belt and thoroughly cleaned the pulleys. I think it was the alignment of the power steering pump pulley is a tiny bit off and it causes the belt to 'sing' under certain conditions (cool damp). Re-aligned this by pressing the pulley on a mm more. Definitely the tensioner and idler were bad bearings too at some point, slightly different noise. Probably a chirp coming from the alternator bearing. Water pump was just starting to leak a bit but didn't make noise. But the singing squeal always comes back driving me nuts. Tried the soap. Belt dressing. The spray water test confirmed it was not a pulley bearing. Just belt noise. I think the PS is still not perfectly aligned and it rubs the side of the pulley ever so slightly. Using a sparing amount of this CRC dielectric did the trick. I keep the spare belts in the vehicle and even a spare tensioner. And tools to change the belt if necessary, something I have gotten pretty good at.
"WAO"!JUST SEEN UR' VIDEO &GOT VERY TEMPTED 2 TRY,MY CAR HAS A VERY BAD CHIRP VERY LOUD,EMBARRASSING,SOUNDS LIKE I HAVE HUNGRY BIRDS UNDER MY HOOD,BELT DRESSING IS MADE 4 THAT REASON,BUT ACTUALLY MADE IT WORSE,I BOUGHT THE SAME ONE CRC AND MY MAN GOTTA TELL U YOUR NAME SHOULD BE ON THE BOTTLE OR AT LEAST THE CMPNY' CRC SHOULD COMPENSATE U FOR U HELPING PEOPLE PURCHASE THERE PRODUCTS!IT INSTANTLY STOPPED THE CHIRPING,THE BIRDS HAVE BEEN FED,L0L...A LITTLE EXPENSIVE $17 WITH TAX 4 A 3.3oz CAN,BUT I DIDN'T MIND BECAUSE EXPENSIVE U BUY ONCE & CHEAP U BUY 3x,THANK YOU SO MUCH MY BROTHER,APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEO & STEP by STEP INSTRUCTIONS,GODBLESS YOU ! ,,,U ROCK,,,,,-LOU, N.Y.C....'99' COROLLA....
Thank you so much for this!!🙏 I tried with WD40 and it made it 10x worse, I then immediatly applied dielectric grease like you said and the horrible squeaking stopped immediately!
This worked wonders on my 5.9l Cummins squeaked like crazy. Had it to shop, replaced belt and pulleys few weeks later the squeak was back. Hopefully this will help keep it from squeaking
I did mine today and the dielectric grease trick works folks. I applied the 1 inch bead on my finger and did that x2. And a lil later on when car hasn't been running a bit when the belt would squeak for a good 20 seconds it did this small faint chirp sound and so I applied 2 other 1 inch beads on i think on other parts of.belt i.dont know since I couldn't see the under side of belt it's a 2008 hyundai elantra very tight very tight That said I'm been driving 5he car off and on all day I'm a chinese delivery driver and havnt heard a noise since However feeling the ribs of the belt my belt is worn and I put in an order for new belt from amazon anyway but the noise is gone man. If ur belt is worn the belts new are like 20 bucks or less so super affordable. It's a DIY job via watching a youtube dude doing it but mostly can be done at home if h have tools and a garage But if its worn this is something to replace not like a dead lightbulb or some small cosmetics stuff where u just say fuck it. Believe me this squeak itself has been going on for about 30 days now I just now spent some time to figure its remedy. I love working on my car but i have other expenses and shit everything for car jobs the money just gets higher and higher like man I wish it was cheaper. I hardly go to.mechanic I feel I get ripped for barely anything done man. Only tires I go to.shopz.. Ovr/out
Thank you for your reply, definitely agree if the belt is worn replace it!! When in doubt replace the belt. But even brand new belts can squeak after a matter of a week. This tip is ment to condition the rubber and stop those small squeaks. Thanks for watching and be sure to watch part 2 for more tips!
Always remember to check condition of the belt and all pullys. Check out Part 2 for more tips and be sure to give it a like to help promote my channel to a larger audience! Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/EZ4FHWqijOY/v-deo.html
I highly recommend 303 aerospace. It’s the best rubber rejuvenator I’ve found. It lubricants rubber. The rubber soaks it up. Try it and see what you think. I think it’ll do what you want and last longer. Once a year.
@@DrDemp Someone posted a video (I saw it quite a while back) using 303 I think to soak a new timing belt in. They said it makes it last forever as well as new tires. It must have properties that penetrate rubber and give it strength
Tried this out today. Was hearing an intermittent sound from the timing belt with the AC engaged. Will let you know how it works. Thanks for the suggestion.
I did this today on my Kia optima 2.4l and that thing loves to squeal Loud! had a brand new can of crc dielectric so I put it on the belts. Not one squeal not even a chirp this is the only thing that worked an I've tried wd 40, dial soap, engine assembly lube an they did nothing I did spill coolant on the belt a while back. Belts and coolant do not get along well
@4:42 You can see an electric volt shot from the pulley to frame. i can almost guarantee you have a pulley that has a bad bearing, causing a static electric discharge. I can almost bet you have intermittent electronic issue that come and go
Incorrect. There was no electric shock, or bad pully on this car... however I recommend testing all pullies as well as the tensioner before putting anything on your belt.
@DrDemp So please watch the video and pay attention at @4:42 you will see a spark from idler pulley this is fraction electric shock or static buildup if you will. I have seen this on many cars. If you watch closely you will see it. If you believe im wrong then please explain what was the jump of the spark gap from pulley to frame is from then
IMPORTANT to have all your belt SIZES checked. Slightly wrong sized A/C belt costed me 3 crankshaft pulleys and numerous (unnecessary) belt changes (alt/ac/pwr-steering).
Even brand new belts can squeak. This is intended to be a Tip. Check out Part 2 for more tips and always check all your components and belt condition. Thanks for watching.
Mother of god, it worked! I already have a new belt but I have a hot date in ten minutes, baby powder did fuck all for me about a week ago but today I tried this and it instantly fixed itself.
So not to crap on this video but dielectric grease is not always going to be the solution. I had a squeaky belt and applied some dielectric grease. Immediately it silenced the belt. I then drove the car and about five miles into my drive the belt started squeaking worse than what it was doing beforehand. Since I already had a new belt from RockAuto, I went ahead and changed the belt and - bam noise was gone. Sorry to be "that guy" but this didn't work for me. Not saying it won't for you who are reading this, but just understand that like everything, your mileage will vary. Thank you for the video nonetheless!
I used a little shot or 2 of belt dressing and it has quieted my belt down on my water pump belt of my taurus a day or so ago.if the noise comes back do you think its safe to use this dielectric grease on the same belt??
No kidding. This really works? So I have a 1010 f150 and it started squeaking. I got a Gates serpentine kit, with all the pulleys replaced and cleaned everything, and it was quiet for a year . I looked at everything again and the pulleys were getting loose at the bearing. I got a new one under warrantee. That lasted a year and started squeaking. Everything was fine. I tried belt dressing (which by the way is not recommended on serpentine belts (and not regular one either in my opinion). Worked for a day. Tried baby powder, worked a month, Graphite. worked a month. Silicone spray worked for a while. Everything but this. I ended up replacing the year and a half old gates with a Bando (Love BANDO BELTS by the way. its all I buy now) Problem has been solved for 2 years. However I think the problem is in the rubber material composition or quality. Perhaps the better belts have a bit of silicone rubber in them. Or grease from worn seals Dirt. your guess. From now on, if it squeaks I'll try this suggestion. I use silicone grease all the time. on rubber seals and window tracks. In Short I'm embarrassed I did not think of grease (clear silicone dielectric grease). Thanks Man!
50,000 miles on my Nissan Sentra and a belt driving over 50 mph is starting to squeak, should I try this or should I replace my belts first for safety reasons and then if they squeak use this?
I just bought belt conditioner and it did the trick,BUT ,the next day it was back,i sprayed a little more and the noise went away, and repeat its back, its better then before it was sprayed but not perfect,i am picking up this grease hopefully i will have better luck
Let us know how well this works after using the spray belt conditioner. Before I found this trick, I have actually made a few sqeaks worse developing into full belt squalls using the spray labeled "belt conditioner" to the point where I've had to replace the belt if its completely saturated. Hope this trick fixed all you problems and you have some good news for us! I'm going to be making a Part 2 to this video very soon and of course fixing more sqeaks!! Stay tuned!
@@DrDemp Im glad u commented because i see i never gave an update,Well i went ahead and bought the tube of grease from Lowes ,came home and put 3 dabs in different areas of the belt and it worked in about 3 seconds of starting the car. Also i havent touched it since and its still as quiet as that day about a year ago,Thank you,and for anyone that has this problem ,get the tube of grease,it will be the best investment u ever made if ur belts ever get noisy

ok I tried it. Squeak is gone, so now I know that the squeak is caused by the ribbed side of the belt. Thank you. So far, 4 days without squeaking.

Awesome!
I am going to try thank you
I have an 01express van, 4.3, I replaced the belt, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley, and it still squeaks, gonna try this trick, thank you for sharing, great job!
Any luck?? I Got the same van

This worked wonders on my 5.9l Cummins squeaked like crazy. Had it to shop, replaced belt and pulleys few weeks later the squeak was back. Hopefully this will help keep it from squeaking
Watch part 2 for additional tips and tricks! Thanks for watching!
Remember LESS is more in this case.
I did mine today and the dielectric grease trick works folks. I applied the 1 inch bead on my finger and did that x2. And a lil later on when car hasn't been running a bit when the belt would squeak for a good 20 seconds it did this small faint chirp sound and so I applied 2 other 1 inch beads on i think on other parts of.belt i.dont know since I couldn't see the under side of belt it's a 2008 hyundai elantra very tight very tight
That said I'm been driving 5he car off and on all day I'm a chinese delivery driver and havnt heard a noise since
However feeling the ribs of the belt my belt is worn and I put in an order for new belt from amazon anyway but the noise is gone man. If ur belt is worn the belts new are like 20 bucks or less so super affordable. It's a DIY job via watching a youtube dude doing it but mostly can be done at home if h have tools and a garage
But if its worn this is something to replace not like a dead lightbulb or some small cosmetics stuff where u just say fuck it.

I highly recommend 303 aerospace. It’s the best rubber rejuvenator I’ve found. It lubricants rubber. The rubber soaks it up. Try it and see what you think. I think it’ll do what you want and last longer. Once a year.
Interesting I haven't heard of that.

@@DrDemp Someone posted a video (I saw it quite a while back) using 303 I think to soak a new timing belt in. They said it makes it last forever as well as new tires. It must have properties that penetrate rubber and give it strength

Idiotic. Make it slip so much u cant hear it.... just put a bandana over your wife's mouth. When it stops working... Result is the same.
Belts and coolant do not get along well
Thanks!
@DrDemp
So please watch the video and pay attention at @4:42 you will see a spark from idler pulley this is fraction electric shock or static buildup if you will. I have seen this on many cars. If you watch closely you will see it. If you believe im wrong then please explain what was the jump of the spark gap from pulley to frame is from then
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 thanks worked like a charm, all the other vids talkin bout takin shit apart and tightening shit 😂😂😂😂
IMPORTANT to have all your belt SIZES checked. Slightly wrong sized A/C belt costed me 3 crankshaft pulleys and numerous (unnecessary) belt changes (alt/ac/pwr-steering).
How did the Crankshaft pully get damaged?
@@DrDemp no it was misdiagnosis by a few "intelligent" mechs. still keeping them with me since anyway for future use

I got some Silicone grease at hand. Would that work ???
So not to crap on this video but dielectric grease is not always going to be the solution. I had a squeaky belt and applied some dielectric grease. Immediately it silenced the belt. I then drove the car and about five miles into my drive the belt started squeaking worse than what it was doing beforehand. Since I already had a new belt from RockAuto, I went ahead and changed the belt and - bam noise was gone. Sorry to be "that guy" but this didn't work for me. Not saying it won't for you who are reading this, but just understand that like everything, your mileage will vary. Thank you for the video nonetheless!
I appreciate all feedback! Definitely not a one size fix all, but does work under certain circumstances. Thanks for watching!
Check out part 2 for more tips and tricks.
Thanks Man!
Your welcome it's great for belts but only in a very very small amount! Less is more! Thanks for stopping by!!
50,000 miles on my Nissan Sentra and a belt driving over 50 mph is starting to squeak, should I try this or should I replace my belts first for safety reasons and then if they squeak use this?
Where did you buy it from
After putting belt dressing made it worse put a little bit of the crc Greece On and everything went back to normal
I would stick with dielectric its made for rubber components.. regular grease is not.
Glad It worked for you.
Thanks for supporting my channel!
