Rush does. I'm pulled between Rush and Pink Floyd as my favorite bands. Their both amazing in their own way, and I can't decide who is better, because they both have so much great tunes.

Sheep has always been my favorite song from this album, but the more I listen to Dogs and see other people's reactions and perspectives, I'm really coming around to it as one of my fav Floyd songs. Thanks Aileen!
Just for reference: The album's lyrics describe various classes in society as different kinds of animals: the predatory dogs, the despotic ruthless pigs, and the "mindless and unquestioning” herd of sheep. This song was the only one co-written by David Gilmore.
Aileen's already reacted to Pigs (Three Different Ones) and all the album's concepts discussed. Btw it's Gilmour. Amazes me how many people always get that wrong!

Maybe my favorite Pink Floyd song. I know, its hard to make a final decision here, but i really really love this one. And as much as i love Davids guitar, when it comes to lyrics and story, for me Roger Waters was always the heart of Pink Floyd.
One of their finest songs. The band is just so locked in on this one. And David's guitar work is stunning. Beautiful song and thank you for the interesting reaction Aileen.
Nothing warms an old man's heart quite like watching a beautiful young woman listen to, and enjoy, Pink Floyd for their first time. Some reactors somehow don't quite get it. You do. I get almost as excited when I see you've released a new Pink Floyd reaction as I did back in the day when a new album was released. Almost... 😊 I'll understand if you want to do Sheep next, but I'm aching to see you react to The Great Gig in the Sky, studio version with Clare Torry, please. I guarantee you've never heard anything like it, even from Pink Floyd.
Gotta say I love that you felt the experience at 17:40 of basically hallucinating due to the amazing effects of where Floyd can take you if you allow yourself to tune in. Remember the era this is from Most great songs from that time have haunting and hypnotic rhythms and grooves That’s why that music is immortal! So glad to share your experience Aileen 🙏🏽🫶🏽
I am so glad, darling. You were reacting to my favorite song of all times my sister passed several years ago and I connect Pink Floyd with her deeply. I remember the day she brought this album home. I was mesmerized with the artwork when she dropped the needle on the record, I did not close my mouth until an hour afterwards when I went back and listened again, and I am still listening to this day😢
He was drownded on the phone. Beep beep.........beep beep......hello This is Mr. Floyd calling Misses Floyd from the United States. Are we reaching..Click.
what a masterpiece from Pink Floyd again💚 Thank you Aileen for covering "Dogs" this time. I also hope you will do "Us and them" from Pink Floyd someday
They are the best band that's ever graced this planet. Beatles, led zep, The stones, and many more come a distant second. Nobody did what Floyd did or ever will.
That was absolutely the purest reaction that I've ever watched from anyone! I couldn't look away and couldn't stop smiling while I watched your facial expressions and bodily movements automatically responding to each new part of the arrangement that you were absorbing! This is truly the definition of what a reaction video should be. Great review at the end as well. Awesome job! I've subscribed and can't wait to see more!
Fun fact about this song/album….if you listen to the vinyl record when you reach the “stone” echo, lift the needle but don’t move the needle. Turn the album over and drop the needle in the same spot and you’ll hear the echo coming through on the other song. The stone has fallen through the record. Great reaction and this is my fav Pink Floyd album
David chose to use a telecaster rather than the usual strat on this tune for that biting lead tone and edge. Every detail is thoroughly fleshed out with these guys.Floyd has been my favorite band for 30 years. There has never been a band that hits the emotional and melodic notes for me like Floyd.
When I listen to this, I think of a workaholic business man, who has given his all to being successful, regardless of what he has to do. By hook or crook, so to speak. Only to realize he's been being used his whole life to the point of just being a stranger in his own home. Just remember that line about all the bad blood slowing and turning to stone. Dragging our subject down. It's important, because `the stone` is referred to several times. (Even on other albums.)
No matter how many times i listen, i feel something. I was watching this with tears streaming down my face. I'm 52, I've heard this many times, and i still feel the instrumentals. It's the only band that quiets my mind and feel peace at times. So when my mind can finally stop running and take a breath, i get emotional because I'm like, woo, this is what peace feels like. 😢
Animals is one of Pink Floyd's quintessential albums. It's best listened to from beginning to end. Also, Pink Floyd is not just music, it's an experience of life...
It does continue and I would love to see The Wall reviewed divided into sides rather than following one song at a time. I don't feel like justice could be served minimizing the message into divided singular songs.
I have been listening 🎶 to all Pink Floyd's albums and cd's since I was 13 years old. I am now 60 years young and still listening and deeply appreciating their art of music. Enjoying 😉 your interpretation of their song dogs. You've brought a few things to my attention that I never related to before. Really interesting. Thanks ❣️
Always love your Pink Floyd reactions Aileen. Everyone sees and hears something different when listening to Floyd. I love to hear what you’re seeing and hearing. Can’t wait for sheep ❤️🏴🇬🇧
My all time favorite Pink Floyd song. The guitar solos are so emotional. Glad you took this dive. One day when your bored, light some candles in the dark. Light one up if you "smoke" and play this whole album from beginning to end. It's an amazing experience! I'd be surprised if these solos didn't make you tear up.
Love this album from the first second till the last. Sometimes I took a glass of good malt, lit the lights and turn the volume a little louder, close my eyes a listen to the whole album. And after that ... I feel fine. This music is medicine.
Hey Aileen, your music reactions are some of the best I've watched. I enjoy how you're able to catch a lot of the innuendo in a lot of the music that you listen to. I don't think I've seen any Frank Zappa on your channel and I was hoping you might be willing to check him out. Is the type of musician you can't put into any category except his own. A lot of his songs are very funny some are very raunchy some are just instrumentals and even up to the point of being a symphony and some are just plain old rock and roll. He Is the type of musician you will totally love and get it, or hate it and never want to listen to it again LOL. I will say he was known as the musicians musician, and a lot of great musicians wanted to be in his band.
There are so many interpretations of this song, which makes it a great song. It makes people think. I've always thought that "dragged down by the stone" meant moving closer to death but there are varying opinions about this. I bought this album when it first came out and to this day it still baffles me. I guess that's why I never get tired of listening to it. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I had the same questions when I first heard it too.
My favorite Pink Floyd song. There are also early versions of Dogs and Sheep with alternate lyrics. The concept is basically splitting people into 3 types. The Pigs are the people on top, the Dogs are essentially the cutthroats out for themselves. Someone made a video for this song using the animated Animal Farm movie. It actually syncs up really well.
You are correct Aileen “animals” is a play on Orwell’s “animal farm” roger waters is such a clever guy! To come up with a concept of turning “animal farm” into an album😄 a masterpiece
Les Claypool and His Fearless Flying Frog Brigade did this album live. I saw them twice on this tour. Sean Lenon on guitar, Harry Waters on Keys, a Vibraphone/percussionist, a drummer, and a Saxophone player.
"Dogs" has always been my favorite! The intro guitars is mezmorisng!! Dogs, always looking behind you for predators, always looking forward for prey never a moments peace. I love these reactions. Back in the day we used to have to bring a cd or what not to a friends house and lay around and listen. Now with streaming you kinda lose that experience. Its not as special because its everywhere. Thats why watching these are so cool. You bring us back to laying on the floor and sharing something beautiful.
Thank you so much for reacting to this album. it's arguably my favorite. There was a while that I played it on a loop, over and over. They seem able to change your feelings at will with their instruments. I like the way the music can be open to your own interpretation. Great stuff
First heard this album when I was 12 in 1977 and Dogs was always the tune I liked best. After years of listening, Pigs and Sheep are great as well. I love the beginning to Dogs with the acoustic guitar playing beautiful chords.
Beyond the shadow of a doubt, this is my favorite song ever written, composed and performed. My second favorite being, "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" by the Rolling Stones. Animals is, in my not-so-humble opinion, the single greatest Pink Floyd album and one of the greatest albums in music history.
Its great to read that: I am not the only one!. For me, Animals is the most complete album, perfect. Yet so criminally overlooked by so many reviewers and chroniclers.
7:42 why? that feeling like going down a roller coaster😮Toda vez que ouço esse solo me dá essa sensação no estômago, obrigado pink Floyd por proporcionar isso para meu estômago 😂😂
Gilmour knows how to create many different moods through his guitar solos. This solo in "Dogs" definitively portrays a high level of Anguish. It's right there along with "Hey You" from The Wall.
"I feel like I am being hypnotized..." That is kind of the point of listening to Floyd, lol. Dogs is hands down my favorite Floyd song from an experiential viewpoint.
Forced to pick, this is my favorite Floyd song! It has everything they're known for... Long. Poignant, deep lyrics. Beautiful guitar from David. Eerie and atmospheric instrumental from Richard. Lots of interesting transitions. Trippy sound effects. My kinda song!!
Theres no way im going through this song without my heart rate going up, goosebumps, tears, feeling sad, angry, powerful, calm. The contrast between Gilmour's rough voice to Roger's sad voice, Nicks drumming is so chill and agressive, The guitar that cries and screams, Ricks playing on the synth giving you a psychodelic trance. This is peak Pink Floyd for sure. I only imagine what its like listening to this with weed haha never tried that!
Try it sometime if you can, I remember when I smoked one of my first few times I listened to comfortably numb, I swear I understood everything and what they where trying to say from the lyrics to the instruments. Afterwards I was like that was definitely the best song of all time.
best band ever lived aileen, always do the studio versions before the live versions.e.g comfortably numb.the mastery of floyd's lyrics, feel, atmosphere build, soundscapes and just sheer emotion are peerless.have a nice day and keep it coming
The contrast between Gilmour and Waters vocals is so special and has always worked.
I sometimes wish Richard had some on this album too.
Shout out to Rick Wright and the fantastic keyboards on this song. gorgeous synths and organ, funky electric piano. RIP, Mr. Wright.
YES!!!!!!!!!!
Especially at the beginning. Amazing acoustic guitar, yes, but Wright just casually drops in multiple dimensions of sound almost before thought.
One of the greatest songs of all time
The whole record.
Every time I hear the opening guitar riff for this song playing, I get chills, because I know how ingenious the coming song is.

Almost like the guitar is speaking! That is the definition of David Gilmour!

Huge Floyd fan here. This song is some of his finest work. The 100 watt Hiwatt into the Fane 4 x 12 raging, what a sound.
And in the case of Animals (1977), barking and oinking and bleating too
