RIP Joey, you were one of my biggest inspiration. If I started to listen metal is thanks to you.
Never forgotten 🖤
Well said 🤘🙏
Rip joey :(
same he was the reason i started drumming he was the reason i evan started listening to metal
@@salahad-din4114 yes but I'm not too much into grind core
♥
Joey is and always was the most metal guy in Slipknot, with Mick coming in a close second.
Agree
and Paul Gray .
Jay is a great drummer but Joey is on a whole different level. Alot of drummers out now try so hard to steal Joey's style and they just don't have the ability. He is a goat. 🤘
Opinions
Nailed it.
Headbanging while Playing drums is not easy,But Joey the drummer God is Headbanging while playing drums and wears mask..man what a God, RIP Joey.
Somehow even after getting into even heavier music, slipknot somehow just has something that the heavier ones don't.
At the end of the day I think it was their crazy drum patterns and mixing between genres, thanks to none other than Joey Jordison. One of the greatest to ever do it.
They have groove
Yup. Big into black & death metal, and Slipknot is still as heavy as when I first heard them.
The GOAT in my eyes. I will always love to see his drumming skils
Joey Jordison is the innovator of Metal Scene. R.i.p Joey,. The reason why i play drums.....joey is not using triggers...

Joey will go down in history as a legendary drummer. First 2 Slipknot records were insanely good. Met Joey in 2001 at a Slipknot signing event. Met him again at a Murderdolls show. Coolest dude ever. Will be sadly missed.
Joey jordinson is that you?😂 you reaction yourself? 😂
A legend gone too soon, RIP Joey Jordison
The Iowa album (and specially the drumming of Joey) was my introduction to extreme metal. I will never forget the day I bought Iowa on September 2001 and the powerful and wild beginning of People = Shit, first blast beats and double bass drum I heard, that blewed my head man...
Thanks Joey, you will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
Iowa is so freakin' perfect. The first 2 albums are already in music history. Can't say the same for what came next
@@borist. they got a bit softer after those two masterpieces, i like we are not your kind as an album, but the first two albums will always be my favorite by far
@SaucyySam _ yeah but tbh some of the soft songs are great keeps me entertained rather than only having balls to the wall songs like song like wherein lies continues is ridiculously heavy in the beginning but has a great chorus but in the same album you have gematria and the title track that are crazy heavy
I can honestly agree, that Slipknot and Iowa are their best albums because the energy is just unbeliveable. However, I also like We Are Not Your Kind despite the common opinion that it no longer sounds like Slipknot. I've been listening to them for quite some time now and these guys are alwas in my heart since then and I love the fact that they're experimenting and that they still have the passion!
The self titled is definitely my favorite album just for the amount of incorporation of sampling and scratching in it, Iowa definitely is the heaviest album and is my second favorite
He was too good for this world, RIP Joey
Seen Slipknot in late '02 when they were mastering their stage presence and sound and it was so fucking amazing to see. I seen them a few times after that, but there was absolutely nothing like seeing Slipknot in their prime with Joey and Paul. Slipknot can never be duplicated. Generational talent.
7:40
His tom and double bass game was on fucking point lol
Mr J.J My Favourite Drummer Of All Time.. I Love The Evil Dead Movie 👍🤘
As a drummer I can confirm head banging while playing isn’t easy. Joey was a god among men. RIP
I have this DVD, and watching it is how I perfected my drumming and headbanging at the same time. Took a while to figure out, but it is worth it.
Rest In Peace Joey Jordison. He just passed away today.
I know exactly what you mean. I first saw slipknot in 99 and lots of times after that in 2000. The energy and chaos on stage was insane. It’s absolutely understandable why it’s not there anymore, but it sucks that it’s gone.
You can tell they want to get wild, but they’ve all sustained multiple injuries, had all sorts of surgeries, and they just don’t have the same energy. They are still a legendary band and always will be, but unfortunately, they will never be able to be as hyper and insane today as they were 10 years ago.
Mask, suit, headbanging, speed, the best drummer ever, RIP joey
Joey also stood in for Frost when Satyricon toured over here in the USA..saw him and he did fabulous.
You lucky bastard! 🍻🤪
@@borist. 😁 My Dad bought me the ticket for my birthday, along with the biggest Chocolate Cake I had ever seen. Good ol' Dad. Frost is the best headbanging drummer I have ever seen..his hair was probably four and a half feet long when I saw him with Satyricon in 2010. He was whirling it around in circles really fast, and didn't miss a beat on the drums. I was floored.😳
Joey's connection with black metal doesn't stop there, back in 2019 he said in an interview that his favorite album was Mayhem's De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.
That Impaled Nazarene poster on the wall, excellent 🤘🏻🤘🏻
When I was fortunate enough to get a journalist job , who got free access to concerts tickets, long story short, you didn’t drink with Joey and Wednesday 13 on a Murderdoll after concert…… they were so much fun , and I cried for a month when I heard Joey passed. Wednesday is still my friend and he wrote a beautiful song for Joey. BTW, I think Joey learned his style from Frost and Hellhammer.
The thing with Corey's voice is that he uses the worse technique in screaming. While it sounds amazing it's really really really bad for your voice. He's got to have some kind of mutant neck and vocal cords in order to have been able to do it on those first two albums and tours. With vol.3 Corey had seriously strained his voice from constant touring and drugs and alcohol abuse along with bad technique. He finally got some help with what techniques to use for screaming and found kinda a happy medium between his old technique and the healthier technique that wasn't as hard on his voice but still wasn't the healthiest technique. It shows on most of the albums following vol.3 where a good bit of the power of his scream is gone or at least reduced. Personally I really like everything that Slipknot has done but I also admit that I secretly wish we could get some self titled and Iowa levels of screams and heaviness from them but it's unlikely that it will happen due to their age (and let me say that I still think it's amazing that Corey can still scream pretty damn good for anyone at any age) and due to Corey wanting to keep the longevity of his voice. Personally I don't think there is a singer/screamer out there that sounds like Corey Taylor. Some of that is down to the uniqueness of his voice but some of it is also down to the way he seemingly had total disregard for his voice when recording and touring those first two albums. There's a huge difference between the way the vast majority of metal screamers do it and how Corey Taylor did it.
It says alot, true respect, when you sir are complimenting Joey being that you're a black metal drummer which takes a shitload of speed & endurance in & of itself.Your English is completely fine and I understood everything you said.IMO Joey was indeed different enough and done things that definitely set him apart and earned him every bit of praise he deserves.
Super reakcija Borise🤘daj jos nesto pd našeg Džoija, zaslužio je 1️⃣❤️
borisT very good your videos I'm Mexican and I usually don't watch videos in English but your videos are very funny the tik tok ones and your very good reactions have earned you a new subscriber.
RIP JOEY WE LOVE YOU🖤
Your channel is awesome and your hair looks really nice! 😁🤘🏻 I hate it that they kicked Joey out and never talked to him again... I hope, I'll be able to see him with his bands one day...
I feel like vol 3 was just them healing from the shit they went through with the past 2 albums. I think that’s exactly what clown said in one of their documentaries. They just wanted to make something less, heavy to let everyone including Corey recover. I mean you hear how raspy he was throughout Iowa, so I think they just wanted something to heal the band.
Rest in peace joey.😔🖤💔
I watched Disasterpieces obsessively as a teenager. He put so much of himself into Slipknot and was such a huge influence for me
.. even in Murderdolls.
However, All hope is gone was when I stopped following Slipknot. The record just felt exactly as the name said... just lacking for me. I kept thinking, this doesn't even sound like Joey... and I was kind of glad he left because he just seemed bored during that era. Like he lost some passion. The record felt like too much Stone Sour influence and Joey always wanted to push harder into thrash and black metal. Once Paul died, it felt inevitable, like his heart wasn't in it anymore.
RIP JOEY JORDINSON!!
Vol. 3 isn't as bad as you say it is, but you're entitled to your opinion. Also, that album had Corey's BEST mask (he didn't need the red and blue hair, but the mask was fire). Still gave the video a like.
I went to see Slipknot once, and I got konked on the head with a wine bottle. But I enjoyed the 8 minutes that I was conscious!🤕🤘💖Joey was their best drummer.. love his performances.
Is that a true story? Man, if it is, then I'm glad I got tickets at a seated area outside of the surrounding crowd of the general admission to see Testament, Death Angel, and Exodus this coming October.
Unless you were sitting down on the bleachers and still got konked on the head, then I shall be careful either way.
@@luisserrano5690 yeah but i feel like slipknot fans are just nornally crazy like that theyve ate a dead bird on stage once before that even the band got surprised
RIP JOEY JORDISON
jay weinberg and joey jordison is a pretty good drummer 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Agree
Fun fact, Jay Weinberg his father is the drummer of Bruce Springsteen
@@borist. But now Joey is gone 🥺🥺🥺. He's with Paul Gray now. Fucking sucks. Sooooo bad.
Joey jordison !!!👍👍👍👍☝
They are called Portnoy fills. Neal pert was the dude that started doing those fraction fills I believe. Joey sped them up.
I busted myself in the eye with the left stick trying to headbanging while playing. It was funny after I made sure my eye was ok.
I truly belive joey played so hard and perfect his system just couldn't keep up. Nobody IMO comes close besides two. RIP GOAT
I like the way you say Cheesus(make that thing yours on UA-cam like merch and such😉) also I enjoyed the content, keep up the good work!
Haha I didn't realized that I was saying it in that way until now! btw thanks man 👊🏻
Saw them at the Roseland theater in Portland. Mudvayne opened for them when they were brand spanking new. They got banned from the tiny venue for setting the place literally on fire. They had a raw wild evil to them.
Love you guy 😂😂🖤
Rest in peace joey jordison, he just passed away
Yeah that`s try masterpiece concert. Still have it on VHS :DD
Mike portnoy already did it.. but in a slower phase Thats where i learned it a lot . Even bacvk in 95 i did somehting like that on hte drums. But Mike portnoy introduced it to me
Joey Jordison es excepcional, un maestro indiscutible, irremplazable 🤩
Para mí el sigue vivo en su legado 😢
Joey said "it's difficult play drum and covered your face with mask for an 2 hour, hard breathing too.
RIP joey 💔
i was at this gig it was in Wembley arena and imo this was the peak of there career there brutality on iowa was insane it mentally fucking destroyed the band to the point they were considering splitting after iowa due to the stress it put on them is sounds like this and heritic anthem that inspire bands like STP and there recent album u can clearly hear the influences of early slipknot the original line up will never have there sound replicated no matter the replacements they put in place joey was one of my favourite drummers of all time and loved murderdolls so fucking much he was a talent taken way too soon
I’m older so early Metallica, megadeth, pantera. Then made that left turn when emperor put out ‘in the night side eclipse’ I stole on lunch in high school and mayhem, Marduk, abruptum with War and still darkthrone and carpathian forest. Darker the better. Colder and grim till the very very end.
you need to react to slipknots 'all out life' they really go back to their roots with that song, that or red flag, or solway firth. they have changed no doubt about that, but i feel like they really went back to their roots on those three songs
Are you talking about the metal festival in krakow in? I remember Amon Amarth being there and slipknot playing late. (And it also being very hot) just curious!
Nice T-shirt 😂🤘🏻
Shut up! You'll make me loose subscribers 😂
@@borist. 😂😂😂
Yes indeed, nice shirt mate 👍🍃
Oh my god, my favourite drummer is die.. R.I.P. joey my idol.
33 degrees is hot..it was 89 degrees here in Michigan last week
Celsius - not Fahrenheit.
I saw Slipknot on the tour of the first album, if you think the Iowa shows were crazy you should have seen them at that tour. I remember clown setting Corey on fire for example
RIP J 🖤
JOEY JORDISON #1
What band are you in? I really want to listen to your drums to try and see new techniques.
I'm playing in Tryglav, you can find all the info in the video description
Ok, thanks
I call it the Jordison Roll.
R.I.P joey
Tbh im a metal head and love all metal even deathcore or death metal and I actual like someone who likes black metal bc any other music hurts my ears but metal doesn't and I like u as a fan
❤ joey RIP
Bro I love Vermillion 2
You look like Krimh´s twin brother! Killer drummer as well.... By the way. Joey was not the "founder" of those fills lol. That´s a typical Mike Portnoy fill that was used in the beginning in the 90´s ;)
RIP Joey
Volume 3 is awesome
Y love vermillion pte 2 😢
When you Said that You were into LINKIN PARK system of a down and slipknot.. But you didn’t like Pantera(another video you have)I’m like…. how is that possible?😂cant comprehend that in my head!!!!😧
It's not that odd, Linkin Park's Meteora, SOAD's Toxicity and Slipknot's Iowa albums are better than anything Pantera ever produced, I'm talking about the albums as a whole. And yeah I know many metalheads will have problems admitting it on the surface.
You know what I respect your opinion but vol 3 was there experiment album to expand abit
The first two albums are what you would expect from Slipknot. I still like the newer albums but its just not the same. They are good albums but just not great slipknot albums
RIP#1
i feel like joey does full arm blasts because he’s not lazy or he’s just about that drumming skill
no affense to other drummers
Rip joey
Ок
saw them live in 04 as pre show for metallica. Was pretty sick, better than metallica.
40 degrees Celsius?
corey need to sound tired for the effect. He do this to engage listeners in certain type of feeling.
Weird saying you lose everything headbanging. I've never ever lost anything unless I went so psychotic I fell off my drum throne.
This guy actually looks like Joey
He was on of my biggest idol. I loved his style
he uses fingers to play some parts
but it looks like he doesnt
he could be joey to restarted his life as a Croatian man and was replaced by a double who got kicked out the band
Jay is good Joey is more precise , cleaner sounding you felt him knew the sound just diff. RIP
Vermillion pt 2 is a great song dude wtf are you talking about
how? powe of coca
Vol 3 was okay before I forget Is my favorite song and vermillion and duality but after that it’s just ehhh
Man if he hates vol 3 that much I wonder how he feels about all hope is gone
All hope is gone is better inmso many ways
I'm drunk so let's raise our drinks for Joey and Paul 🤘💪
So basically in vol 3 Corey quit drinking and that’s why his voice wasn’t that good it didn’t have that rasp to it or anything
Yea Vol3 is my least favorite slipknot album, but I don’t mind it. I can appreciate all types of music personally, but you seem to be someone who is mainly into the heavy shit so I can understand why you dislike it. Iowa is easily my fav album of theirs
Joey Jordison is amazing when it comes drumming and he still had soo much to live for R.I.P 😭😭
The singer makes the music. Alot of this black metal have really great sounding music but can't even remotely understand what the hell they are saying. Cory doesn't distort his voice, he just screams and adds a little bit of rap makes it sound really good. Cannibal corpse now this guy is what I'm talking about...distorts his voice so much it doesn't sound good. In my opinion
vol 3 being awful is a very bold opinion ngl
Vol 3 was awesome to me but to each their own , because I loathe black metal. It fucking makes me laugh hysterically.
1:16 what happened is bc before this album Corey was just screaming without any technique and was very unhealthy for his vocal chords so in Vol.3 he converted to a healthier more proper screaming technique.
This is about drums not vocals
@@notanindianscammer7594 he said he didn't know what happened to Coreys voice because he thinks it rlly sucked during that period so i explained what happened.
I smell metal elitist.
