I found your video after I took my beloved GSD to the vet for his annual checkup. His blood panel showed his liver enzymes had quadrupled since last year. It was at 1750! He was 12 years old, so the vet had done some research on milk thistle effects on canine livers. Okay, he got his shots, mani/pedi and the sedation reversal was given. This was in early October. Two weeks later, I took him back in because he seemed to be having difficulty walking (he’d received a first shot of Librela for his arthritis) and he was barely eating. Long story short, they did a more comprehensive blood panel, and his liver enzymes had doubled to over 3500 and there was calcium in his blood. Most likely cancer. 😢. We had to carry him out on a stretcher to the car and the vet said you’ll most likely have to make a hard decision over the weekend. He was also put on gabapentin every 12 hours. I cried for hours, then I thought there must be something I can do and I began searching and researching. I found your video and the next morning, out I went and bought the ingredients and began cooking. My big guy perked right up, smelling it and after eating your recipe for 24 hours, along with the milk thistle and gabapentin, he’s been his usual self. He gets so excited for his homemade food and I’m convinced your recipe has given him more time. I know when it’s time, he’ll go down quickly, but in the meantime, he’s happy, eating and still with us. Thank you! ❤
@ thank you. He’s still with us and gets excited for his food, which is great, as dogs with severe liver problems tend to go off their food. He’s still happy, just a bit slower. 🥰
I live in Thailand but my sister lives in the US. She told me that she will buy your products for my dogs. Can’t wait to get it and hope it will help my dogs stay healthy
@balletsmile I started cooking for one of my dogs and supplementing his food with his Ultimate Canine Health Formula. Get the economy size since you live in Thailand. It’s a greatest investment I have made for my 12 year old Dachshund, Mr. Wiggly. He started getting serious ear infections toward the end of 2022 and his anal glands kept needing cleared. I spent every month of 2023 at my Vet for his ears & his anal glands as well as the first five months of 2024. At that last appointment the beginning of May they told me that I needed to have his ear operated on and I wasn’t sure what to do. I’m not saying that I don’t trust my Vet because I have been going to them for 20+ years for every pet I have adopted and believe me there has been many. The issue is that he is 12 years old and I don’t feel comfortable having him go through surgery and they keep saying that the ear infections are from some sort of allergy so how is cutting his ear canal going to treat the actual allergies? I just remember coming home in tears because I felt like I was failing my baby and I wasn’t sure what to do. I can’t even honestly tell you how I found this wonderful Veterinarian but it was like I was guided on UA-cam by some divine force because I rarely go on UA-cam but here was this man literally talking about chronic ear infections and how to treat them. When I watched his video about how to treat ear infections I figured I have nothing to lose by trying his treatments. I couldn’t believe the difference in just a few short days then I watched his video on how human food is actually better for our pets especially for allergies. So, I started cooking for my fur baby. Mr. Wiggly has completely cleared up. My Vet couldn’t believe how great he was doing and wanted to know what I was doing because he had gone from such a serious ear infection to it completely healed and his ear canal clear and his anal gland issues have also improved. I told him everything that I just shared with you and the great thing about my Vet is he was thrilled. He is open minded and just wants whats best for my pets. My 12 year old Mr. Wiggly is hopping around like a puppy again. I now see how beneficial feeding real human food to him was so I invested in an Instant Pot Pro Plus and am cooking for all three of my babies now. I wish you and your babies all the best.
I've been making my dog's food for years after seeing one of your videos. He won't eat any vegetables unless they are pureed. So, after cooking I blend them up in my food processor. I add a different type of meat each time...organic chicken, turkey or beef. I also give him your Ultimate Canine supplement. He will be 13 years old in October and acts like a puppy. He also gets one drop of your CBD oil daily for old age anxiety and arthritis. He is one happy pooch!
I’ve been cooking for German shepherds for years. Easiest for me is to put all ingredients in a large electric pressure cooker. Either pressure cook or put on slow cook for 6 hrs. Vegetables get cooked as well as meat. Easy clean up! Temperature is always on low so as not to overcook.
So similar to a diet I fed an older large Pom - poached lean chicken breasts...Once cooked, taken out and allowed to slightly cool down. Used the water from the chicken to cook sweet potatoes/yams. The yams cook and are supercharged with the chicken broth. Remove and set to the side. Last item, organic small green beans in that chicken broth water. The chicken and green beans are chopped up. To the latter, add extra virgin olive oil (small small amount). Last item is a small source of calcium. All of the mix is then portioned for two days, bagged and put in the freezer. The yams are kept separately and similar bagging. This allows me to portion out the meals. The dog had about 17 months on this diet as opposed to the few months they said he would live. I can't guarantee this is the reason the dog lived longer but I am sure it helped substantially.

@@kathyfranzella5269 I can tell you there is lots of kibble, cheap and expensive such as Hill's Science Diet, causing allergies in dogs and cats right now. I home cook but worry my boy isn't getting all his calcium etc that he needs so happy to find this video. I am 99% sure my other dog died because of a Purina kibble that both my dogs have eaten on and off for years, a few months ago my 2 dogs got sick and so did my Sisters 2 dogs, all on the same food. Look up lab grown meat and you'll be shocked to learn one of the side effects is allergy. Here in Australia, there is tonnes of these dry and wet foods given to charities, someone was selling Royal Canin, Hill's and others on behalf of a pet charity...seriously? Why isn't it going to the pets to eat? There's tonnes on special in the stores (half price or less), it's being sold cheap on market place with lots saying it gave their pets allergy, some refused to eat it and some it made their dogs sick. It's a worldwide problem. Hill's Science Diet in USA got 2 metric tonnes of lab grown meat delivered to their facility , and Europe has just approved it for pet food. I have a feeling these dog food companies have been trialling it on our dogs and cats for months without us knowing. My dog is a Kelpie x Lab and never been fussy with any food, but no matter what brand I buy, about 5 days into it he starts going off it and refuses to eat it. {1 pound chicken, 2 cups sweet potato, 1 cup kale, 2 eggs, calcium, Omega 3, vitamin, sunflower oil. - Dr. Jones ingredients.} I make a big meatloaf for my dogs and freeze it in portions. I put 3 pounds of ground turkey (organic if I can find it), 6 pounds of grass-fed organic ground beef, 1 can of organic pumpkin, 1 cup of a mixture of baby spinach, chard & kale, 1 cup of butternut squash (sometimes sweet potato), 1 cup of broccoli or broccoli slaw, 3 cans of sardines in water with no salt, 8 eggs, 1 cup of blueberries, 1 TBSP of flaxseed oil, 2 TBSP of seaweed calcium, 2 TBSP of organic powdered greens for dogs. I don't cook anything separately, it is all mixed in the meatloaf. I also give my dogs a vitamin.
I live in the UK it's great to see a vet promoting national dog health. I have a Basset hound he will only eat raw food beit vegetables herbs meet and fruit. These videos have been absolutely brilliant have learnt so much and implemented so much of what I have learnt from watching them. A brilliant veterinarian.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so happy to hear that the videos have been helpful for you and your Basset Hound. Keep up the fantastic work! 😊🐾
You are delightful! I had been feeding my sweet beagle a similar diet with the "Missing Link" supplement for 11 years & then switched to a prescription canine hepatic food the past year. Her liver values doubled last month.😢 Well, the hepatic food is expensive & I'm not sure it's doing anything. So, I'm going to use your recipe. Thank you. Wish my Lexi luck! ❤
I put everything in the slow cooker and cook together, with a little practice you end up with a mixture that is easy to use a potato masher by hand while adding supplements.
I bake the sweet potatoes for the whole week and keep them refrigerated. I cook the chicken or ground turkey with coconut oil on the stove every morning and add baby spinach, which is easy to cook. Then, when it is almost cooked, I add the eggs, and voila! It is not messy, fast, and easy to do.
Thank you Dr. Jones, you are awesome, as usual! Blessings to you and your family for all you do! AND your products are the best, no additives all natural, blessings
Thanks Doc...my schnauzer has just been diagnosed with acute liver damage after a serious infection, and I'm cooking up a renal diet for him. I'm mashing his food with a blender and also adding a homemade soup to keep his liquid intake up. I found your videos on liver disease very helpful, Thank You!
I love your videos!! My dog had a splenectomy on Tuesday. He eats a natural raw diet (Barf). Do you have any videos or recommendations for dogs without a spleen? Can he continue eating a raw diet? I would love to hear your recommendations.
Love your videos, so helpful What is the cause of there any specific cause of stomach cancer in my Scottish Terrier. She died of this and have her pup that is getting older and definitely don’t want that to happen again. Any diet ideas, we feed cooked brown rice with plain chicken no skin and Eukanuba lamb and rice as a top up half handful,to include any minerals . They hardly went to the vet but this condition took her life
Please, could you make a video about how to feed a cat with a kidney affected by struvite stones. My baby had them a few years ago for eating Ricocat, I didn't know that time it damages that badly. He didn't have another problem to pee and our vet recommended us changing his kibble for n&d chicken for sterilized cats. But I wanna change his food for a natural one as well as for her mom since she was diagnosed with mammary cancer 😢 she's 9 years -ish and her baby is 7 years old. I wanna give them a better quality of life. So far, both and my dogs just drink ozonized water to remove chloride and minerals that are in water in Peru. I'd thank you so much a bit of guide of how to change my kitties diet 🙏🏻
I've started feeding my dog with a liver&pancreas disease with lean horse/deer meat and pumpkin or sweet potatoes, and a small amount of rabbit heart/ stomach. He's absolutely loving it ❤ also his digestion is better, 💩 is much smaller and has good consistency ❤
I’m so happy that you did a liver specific video!! My dog has liver disease from dealing with ehrlichia before she came to live with us (when she was a wee puppy in Mexico). I would like to buy the krill oil from your shop but the link seems to be broken. I’ll do a search and see if I can find your website though. Thank you for this information! I don’t know if you have the time, but if you get a chance to read what I’m giving Lucie for her liver conscious diet (below) and notice anything I should not be doing, that would be super helpful. I can’t ask my vet… She recommended kibble made from soy protein isolate 😱😱 It’s so unhealthy! I feed Lucie either raw or cooked: fish (trout, herring, a little salmon), chicken breast, occasionally kangaroo (which I can only find raw) or rabbit, and farm fresh free range organic egg. I occasionally give her a small amount of goat kefir or low fat yogurt. The raw food is always from a reputable supplier and is deep frozen for an extended period of time to kill off any parasites. I always thaw it in the microwave and give it to her in the morning and at night. If there’s anything left in the fridge at the end of the day, it goes in the garbage (I don’t keep anything for the next day, just in case). She gets a tiny bit of flax or sunflower seed oil, sometimes pumpkin seeds (as per your suggestion in another video), and sometimes nutritional yeast flakes. I cook a variety of different vegetables with occasionally a small amount of blueberries, or apples, or pears added. I do usually 4 or five in any combination of: brussel sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, rutabaga, turnip, broccoli, kale, zucchini, green beans, sweet potato, pumpkin, celery, a few peas, bok choy, pinch of parsley. Sometimes I’ll throw in some hemp seeds into the pot (if I don’t cook them, they go right through her lol). Every once in awhile I’ll add a tiny bit of unsalted plain tomato paste. I use an emulsion blender to make sure it’s easily digestible. I haven’t tried liver yet. She’s allergic to beef & turkey, so perhaps I could try a little chicken liver in with everything else? I sometimes add fresh, organic, non-gmo tempeh to her food & half the amount of meat or fish, so that it decreases the load on her liver. For supplements I add dog specific probiotics, and 1/16 tsp of apple cider vinegar (per day-she’s a small dog), pet specific mushrooms powder with milk thistle, and a little multivitamin powder. I feed her smaller amounts at a time, 4x/day within a feeding time window so that her liver doesn’t get overwhelmed with trying to process too much food at a time. She’s six years old and doing very well, but if you notice anything “off”, please feel free to call me on it. Thank you!!
The Ultimate Canine Health Formula has 25mg (25,000 mcg) of Zinc. I’m reading that an adult dog typically needs around 120mg per day. (The maximum amount of Zinc a dog should consume in a day is 1000mg). I just ordered your formula. How many scoops should I give my dog in order to reach the daily suggested dose of 120mg? Love your videos and love your products ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dr. Jones' Ultimate Canine Health Formula Dosage Chart: up to 10lbs: 1/2 serving/day 10 - 50lbs: 1 serving/day 50-100lbs: 1.5 servings/day over 100lbs: 2 servings/day
The thing is I stop kibbles for my pomchi his liver marker improved significantly despite still taking only meat and fatty meat included I try avoid oxalate or carbohydates food as its making his kidney hard and stone
Dr. Jones can you please do a video to help older dogs gain back muscle mass. My 13 yr old multipoo loves to eat but has become so thin . After two different vets wasn’t concerned I still am. Thank you.
Allergies are a big issue I think but so many potential causes. Diet, cleaning products, even stress. My brother had a dog with severe allergy. he was cleaning his carpet all the time and using a product with chemicals in it that was a potential source of the problem. These things are hard to diagnose. I think you just have to look around in your home and take a look at what you’re feeding and what you are cleaning with and any emotional stress the animal could be under. Many people don’t understand that when there is stress in the household animals can feel this too.
Wincing as you try, to chop up that chicken ugh, try buying a pair of kitchen scissors that come with their own sharpener. So much easier! I love your channel and I love your holistic approach to our precious pets health 💘🐾 Watching from Oregon 🇺🇸♥️
Thank you Dr. JOnes for your very informative videos. I watched your video about homemade food for dogs with liver problems. I have a 4-year-old Jack Russell, weighing about 22 lbs. we adopted 2 years ago. His ALT is elevated at 146. I would appreciate it very much if you could pls give me the natural remedy and the dosage that you mentioned in your podcast like the use of milk thistle and turmeric. Appreciate your help
My dog has elevated liver enzymes- around 200. He eats natural meat and mixed with Farmers Dog. My vet said to give him Milk Thistle. His appetite is fine. Yes to eggs. Not sure about Kale- anti-nutrient. Pumpkin- yes. Fat must be consumed with protein. No to Sunflower oil IMHO.
Stopped feeding our three dogs kibble after they had a recall on Victor‘s dog food that made all three of my dogs really sick. I make their food with sweet potatoes, carrots, chicken breast and white rice. Shih Tzu had very bad allergies eyes running constantly since I started doing this, they no longer run, however, he still has what the vets says is reverse sneezing but he does it all the time I sent you a video. Hopefully, you can tell me what it is for sure.
Very interesting video. My dog has Copper Storage liver disease. Our vet prescribed a prescription food which is a kibble. I would love to feed her fresh food. or even fresh treats but, everything seems to have copper in it which she can not have. I would love to know what I could feed or treat her. Please make a video on this. It would be so helpful not just tome but, I'm sure for many others. :)
Thank you ! This is just in time for me and my 15 year old mini chi weenie ! Her liver enzymes have been high for years . But recently I started homemade . She recently had bloody , loose stools and I took her to the vet . Her liver enzymes went down a little bit since I started the homemade. But they say low protein and it makes no sense to me . Her BUN is high . Is that from too much protein? Thank you so much 😊
Can I sometimes substitute spinach for kale and pumpkin for sweet potato? I have those on hand all the time and don’t always have Kale and sweet potato.
Dr Jones I wanted to ask you about using crushed eggshell powder instead. The one thing I do notice is there are other compounds included & I read it is more easily and better absorbed then the calcium carbonate can you please give me some direction and also would you tell me what brand of sunflower oil that you're using. I would really like to stay as close as possible to this recipe you have provided
My dog had pancreatitis about a year ago. Would you please make a video on pancreatitis and the best food for it? I feed him home cooked food, but had to add a little bit of kibble to harden his stool a bit. He is a very picky eater, so kale is not an option. Would brown rice be a good alternative to kibble for nutrition and fiber?
I’m in my 60s studied human health for half a century and pups’ health almost as long….love your channel, info you give and the way you give it. Are eggs ok or too much fat for pup with high liver enzymes, she is 12, and ..oh wow you got to eggs! YEah!! Krill oil is causing some issues with whales just read today so maybe olive oil or sardines or sunflower oil etc. Good news some dams in N. Cal were taken down so salmon hopefully will be coming back.
Shiny has liver disease she has been on Demerian for 2 yrs. I just stopped making home dog food , just did blood work has show no improvement keep on Med , I would like to take off med and do the diet ,what to do you think
@TarrieRichard-so3kb Thanks so much! 🌱 I love that you're into natural health for animals too. You can grab my book on my website or tinyurl.com/24z7ymbh If you need any help finding it, just let me know! 🐾📖
@@VeterinarySecrets Dr. Jones, I as usual will be sending your video out to family and friends also for preventive liver disease. Besides, sunflower seed oil, olive oil could one also substitute coconut oil? Thanks!!!
hi can I substitute sunflower seed oil with coconut oil, use turkey instead of chicken and another green like dandelion greens or brocolii instead of Kale?
That's a great diet for any dog. Better than any kibble. Just increase the fat content for underweight dogs or dogs without liver issues. The only thing I do is steam all the veg. Boiling causes nutrient loss especially when the water isn't added to the final mix. Steaming is the bets way to preserve as many nutrients as and minerals as possible. For fussy dogs, blend everytbing3together so they cantpick and choose. Transitioning can take a while for some dogs. There is tons of good info on how to do so without causing GI problems. If you can at all do it, remove kibble ASAP PERMANENTLY. Have you seen Susan Thixtons fantastic esposé on The Truth about Pet Food? It's a must watch. I really appreciate a vet who promotes a natural homemade balanced diet for cats and dogs. Much respect! I have fed Dr Lisa Piersons raw diet for cats for 14 years now to my cats and my animals thrive on it. I also give it to my 3 small breed dogs and I add kidneys and various appropriate veg to it as well as cooked oatmeal as dogs are omnivores.
Just wondering if Kangaroo meat would be ok instead of chicken, I have a black dog very similar to your black dog you lost , he is roughly 27 kgs. Kangaroo is a high protein very low fat meat and I can buy it locally at a pet store, though I have been told it's flesh only, not organ meat. How much do you recommend I give? He absolutely loves it but until now I only give him around 130gms a day, is that too little for him ? I have no faith in vets now as my last vet was part of the reason I lost my dog. I do cook bone broth from either chicken, lamb or beef, and I do use carrots and sometimes sweet potato so now I'll be off to buy all the foods you suggested. Thank God for people like you that put the pets before profit.
Hi Dr. Jones, my furry baby foxy she is 6 years old and weight 9 pounds and was just diagnosed with elevated liver the veterinarian recommend Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Hepatic Loaf Canned Dog Food. I think she would do much better with your homemade liver diet. She was eating Kirtland dog food. from Costco‘s about six years. I change to Acana dog food red meat she been on that for about 3 months. Plus I gave her your Dr. Jones ultimate canine advance plus health formula, I just ordered her Dr. Jones ultimate liver support formula is there anything else I should be given her. and something to lessen the diarrhea from changing the food? And how much should I be feeding her homemade dog food. Thank you so much of your knowledge that you bring to all of us on Veterinary secrets.
I feed a mixed diet to my 2 100lbs dog, kibble raw and cooked. It seems expensive and can take time, but I do it for my dogs with certain dog safe herbs and freeze it for a variety of meals most days. It's a doggy meal prep day! But absolutely love ❤️ to cook.
My boy is 150 lbs. He gets both kibble and cooked..not gonna lie..its a huge task and expensive. I cook huge amounts and freeze it in preportioned meals.

What do you use to cook all that?? That's a lot all at once to fit into a big pot.
@@anablackford7457 I have a large restaurant size stainless steel pan.
Your recipe is great 👍 for a healthy dog, this is a special diet for dogs with liver disease which is lean in fat.
@@malishomecooking6008 You are correct.
Sunflower oil, no way. Seed oils are not good for anyone
Her liver values doubled last month.😢
Well, the hepatic food is expensive & I'm not sure it's doing anything. So, I'm going to use your recipe. Thank you. Wish my Lexi luck! ❤
I put everything in the slow cooker and cook together, with a little practice you end up with a mixture that is easy to use a potato masher by hand while adding supplements.
I do the same.
Good morning Doc Jones...love the recipe!
Eggs, Meat, Magnesium are part of a balanced meal program. Forever Dog LIFE is a great book on this subject- it has recipes.
I make it in rice cooker. Vets are against homemade meals. Thanks, God bless you ❤
Thank you Dr. Jones, you are awesome, as usual! Blessings to you and your family for all you do! AND your products are the best, no additives all natural, blessings
Thank you for educating me to help my dogs !!! God bless you Dr Jones !!
Good recipy even for hooomans.
Thankyou Dr Jones .
Anytime! 👍
Love the recipe ideas. Thanks
Bless you you are fantastic doc thank you 🐾🐾👍🌟
Thank you ❤
Thanks Doc...my schnauzer has just been diagnosed with acute liver damage after a serious infection, and I'm cooking up a renal diet for him. I'm mashing his food with a blender and also adding a homemade soup to keep his liquid intake up. I found your videos on liver disease very helpful, Thank You!
good for humans I must add. 😊❤
I love your videos!! My dog had a splenectomy on Tuesday. He eats a natural raw diet (Barf). Do you have any videos or recommendations for dogs without a spleen? Can he continue eating a raw diet? I would love to hear your recommendations.
Thank you Dr. Jones!!!!!!
Love your videos, so helpful
What is the cause of there any specific cause of stomach cancer in my Scottish Terrier. She died of this and have her pup that is getting older and definitely don’t want that to happen again.
Any diet ideas, we feed cooked brown rice with plain chicken no skin and Eukanuba lamb and rice as a top up half handful,to include any minerals . They hardly went to the vet but this condition took her life
It can be eaten together, not only dogs!
Would never use seed oils bc of production methods
How about substituting chicken with turkey?
good question
I love this Channel! Thank you Dr Jones ! You’re so AWESOME ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cook this meal a few times a week , just because it’s so super healthy!
Good Morning!
Very informative. My Maltese has a liver shunt. I hope you can make a video on diet plan to help this.
Thank you so much for this, Doctor.
Dr. Jones' Ultimate Canine Health Formula Dosage Chart:
up to 10lbs: 1/2 serving/day
10 - 50lbs: 1 serving/day
50-100lbs: 1.5 servings/day
over 100lbs: 2 servings/day
@ Thank you so much! 👍🏻
The thing is I stop kibbles for my pomchi his liver marker improved significantly despite still taking only meat and fatty meat included I try avoid oxalate or carbohydates food as its making his kidney hard and stone
Here we are, Hoping Abbys test results on Sept 24 are back to normal. Thank you so much Dr.Jones for all of your amazing advice throughout the years
I love Tula ! She’s the best and so are you ! Big hugs to you both 😊
Thanks so much! Tula is the real star :-) I encourage you to get a copy of my free book at www.veterinarysecrets.com
Wincing as you try, to chop up that chicken ugh,
try buying a pair of kitchen scissors that come with their own sharpener. So much easier!
I love your channel and I love your holistic approach to our precious pets health 💘🐾
Watching from Oregon 🇺🇸♥️
Great recipe thanks.
You are most welcome! You can get a copy of my free book at www.veterinarysecrets.com
You are such a blessing! Thank you for always sharing your knowledge!
Anything is better than prescription RX food. Best of luck. I would search the internet for a dog nutritionist.
Thank you so much 😊
fantastic information as always
Can I sometimes substitute spinach for kale and pumpkin for sweet potato? I have those on hand all the time and don’t always have Kale and sweet potato.
Could you do a video on puppy food for miniature schnauzers please
Will this diet be good for my 2 month old puppy recently diagnosed with liver disease? Thanks
I like your videos, God bless you!
"Thanks for this recipe! It’s perfect for my dog’s needs!"
Ty as always! Shared on my Facebook as always.
Love this and all your videos! Can you please do this for kidney disease and any supplements you would recommend
Hey,doc. Love your videos and the fact that you practice Natural remedies. Can i order the book instead of getting it email?
Nice video thanks
Thank you!!
Hello!
Thanks for the recipe, where do I purcharse calcium, green for dogs?
What brand are you recommending?
Flaxseed I am not sure ?
I put beets and. Carrots squash chicken or fish
You rock and Tula also ty so much
Cheers 😅
Best doctor! ❤
Interesting and thanks.
Thank you Doctor ❤
I’m in my 60s studied human health for half a century and pups’ health almost as long….love your channel, info you give and the way you give it. Are eggs ok or too much fat for pup with high liver enzymes, she is 12, and ..oh wow you got to eggs! YEah!! Krill oil is causing some issues with whales just read today so maybe olive oil or sardines or sunflower oil etc. Good news some dams in N. Cal were taken down so salmon hopefully will be coming back.
Hi Dr. Jones. Can you explain why cooked diet is better than raw diet in this case?
Shiny has liver disease she has been on Demerian for 2 yrs. I just stopped making home dog food , just did blood work has show no improvement keep on Med , I would like to take off med and do the diet ,what to do you think
Thank u for sharing your knowledge . I am all about natural health for our animals. Not sure I know how to get your book
@TarrieRichard-so3kb Thanks so much! 🌱 I love that you're into natural health for animals too. You can grab my book on my website or tinyurl.com/24z7ymbh If you need any help finding it, just let me know! 🐾📖
What diet would you recommend for a GSD with pancreatic enzyme deficiency?
Fantastic news that you have a trusted product line to share ❤Thank you for equipping those of us who DIY it 🎉
Any diet for cats?
Dr. Jones, thanks for the recipe. Could I substitute Organic Olive Oil for Sunflower Seed Oil?
Yes, you can
@@VeterinarySecrets Dr. Jones, I as usual will be sending your video out to family and friends also for preventive liver disease. Besides, sunflower seed oil, olive oil could one also substitute coconut oil? Thanks!!!
Hi Doc good day we don't have kale in the Philippines what is the alternative vegetable same like kale.
hi can I substitute sunflower seed oil with coconut oil, use turkey instead of chicken and another green like dandelion greens or brocolii instead of Kale?
I love this video! My dog is about 12 pounds so how long can it keep in the fridge?🌭🐶
Maybe you can freeze in portion sizes...i would, imo✌️
Thank uou
Dogs & Cats 🙏🐱🐶Thank You
where can i get your dog vitamin supplement
Would ultimate canine be good for dogs that are diagnosed with anemia?
Most diseases come from shots and chemicals. Thank you for all you do 😊
He did a video on shots for dogs. He said he felt that it was a money making exercise and which ones he recommends.
Would this be a good diet for a dog with lipomas?
should we not avoid synthetic copper in vitamins when the liver is compromised ?
Does include dogs with copper storage disease? What modifications should be made?
I absolutely love how you let your poodle eat on the counter. She is adorable and my sweet girl Angel (my profile pic) loves to watch her eat.
What food i could give to My old Chihuahua
Hi Dr. Jones, my furry baby foxy she is 6 years old and weight 9 pounds and was just diagnosed with elevated liver
the veterinarian recommend Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Hepatic Loaf Canned Dog Food. Jones ultimate liver support formula is there anything else I should be given her. and something to lessen the diarrhea from changing
the food? And how much should I be feeding her homemade dog food.
Thank you so much of your knowledge that you bring to all of us on Veterinary secrets.
How about a homemade diet for dogs with EPI?
Unfortunately, Kale is not considered a superfood. It is fiber but that is all. I would suggest dandelion or many other green leafy veggies instead.
Definitely takes a lot to feed large dogs. I have 4 large dogs (1 at 106 pounds and 3 at about 70 pounds each). It takes forever to cook them food 😂.
I feed a mixed diet to my 2 100lbs dog, kibble raw and cooked. It seems expensive and can take time, but I do it for my dogs with certain dog safe herbs and freeze it for a variety of meals most days.
It's a doggy meal prep day! But absolutely love ❤️ to cook.
a large crockpot is a big help too ;-)
I can relate… only have three large ones but it takes a lot of planning and time to make their meals.
Hope someone writes this out!
My boy is 150 lbs. He gets both kibble and cooked..not gonna lie..its a huge task and expensive. I cook huge amounts and freeze it in preportioned meals.
