Mugly, my niece had an eighteen-year-old chihuahua that had seizures, and a local natural vet suggested she give her dog a dab of honey. She bought the little straws of honey from the health food store and would squirt about 1/4 tsp. of honey in her little dog's mouth, at first signs of a seizure. It amazingly and rapidly stopped the seizures, every time. : )
My chihuahua mix is 13 years old, has a heart murmur, bad teeth, arthritis, vision issues and I’m not sure if his hearing is going…. I’ve treated him over the years naturally, in the past test I’ve been more pro active with his health. I’ve taken your supplement suggestions and I look forward to seeing what happens when I add your food suggestions to his diet. He’s been on a carnivore diet with me, but I’ve decided that there are nutrients he needs in foods other than meat! I know he’s going to respond well to this new diet adjustments. Thank you so much for all your fantastic, helpful information!!! ❤❤❤
I can tell you from personal experience that Moringa powder and Lion’s Mane mushroom powder have been super helpful for my 16 yr old pug. He has arthritis, blindness, deafness, and cognitive disfunction. Saw massive improvements 4 years ago, and I attribute those ingredients to his still having mobility and a happy life. His tail still wags on a daily basis. Be sure to find a source of clean organic ingredients though. Moringa especially is notorious for being contaminated with heavy metals.
Dr.Berg sited newer studies for cataract with N acisity carosine (spelling probable off ,but not cistine) Could only find it (as he said ) in dog eye drops...so thats what i got .....
I have a question. If I am giving my dog your canine supplement every day wouldn’t he be getting all of the nutrients that you just described? I have an eight year old multipoo and I give him your ultimate canine advanced formula plus daily
You're definitely giving your dog a solid nutritional boost with the Ultimate Canine Advanced Formula. However, just like us, dogs benefit from variety! So even with the supplement, it's good to offer whole foods like veggies and quality proteins to keep everything in balance. Your 8-year-old Maltipoo is in great hands with that daily dose!
I add nearly all of these most meals- I sprinkle the turmeric & coconut oil at the end with her green lipped muscle based joint supplement (pupgrade)... & honestly an insurance that covers holistic care like acupuncture... my 12 year old heeler pit mix has regained what feels like 3 years of youth & certainly vitality! We just use a basic food processor to blend the kale, carrots, & cooked ground turkey or steak... sometimes they have an egg & the shell (inner membrane & shell are highly beneficial). My dogs are ecstatic about it & I feel far better than I do trusting even high grade kibble companies.
I love this as this just confirmed everything I'm already doing and feeding him Frontier Pets has been super helpful in this as it has a lot of this in it! Now I know what to give him as a treat.
✨Dr . Jones , I am poaching eggs for my 12 year old Mastiff and myself right now 😁 I have been giving my boy my homemade soups . We are both seniors and share the same complaints we live in the middle of the Great Lakes where it is very cold and damp in winter . That catches up with age , so we stay active , he gets me out that’s good for both of us and he’s running and fetching his rope several hours every day . I am feeding him a kibble made from insect protein it seems to be keeping him active , no itching or dandruff and his ears were nice and clear that was until I mix in a new food . At least I can see the difference soon enough , plus I feed him the same foods I make for myself naturally. We both love soup and I figure a big pot will last several days . He just digs right in. I find making a beef bone broth soup or a poultry stock with some lean meat , mixed vegetables, carrots , garlic , onions , finely chopped kale and parsley, a can of mixed beans that can be used to substitute meat as a added protein and for texture . I add some good spices like turmeric , and a “little” black pepper or a pinch of cayenne because it activates the turmeric. I Use salt very sparingly . Not to spicy remember for people deciding to cook food that’s good for both you and your dog ! I also remember that herbs like oregano and rosemary are extremely beneficial too! Senior dogs really need these wonderful nutrients and the TLC just the same as us. ☺️ It’s the best delivery system for the bodies absorption , utilizing the nutrients where they are needed 😉👍 If I don’t have beans I substitute with a healthy noodle , I just found a 100% Organic Buckwheat noodle so that may go into this soup recipe that just keeps on giving. 🙏🏼 I am giving my dog castor oil treatments on his callouses , lumps and bumps . I am using castor oil and mixing in CBD oil and alternating the application castor oil treatments with a single drop of oregano oil mixed into the carrier oil coconut oil . It works well too , but he licks it off faster than it’s going on him, so that’s not doing any good 🤷♀️. I found he doesn’t particularly like the taste of castor oil so I switched them . He has a small skin tag on his elbow so I hope to see it shrink. PS . He has Coconut oil on his dog cookie in the morning and at night and a little cheese before bed . Good for his dental hygiene. Cannabis oil for his pain relief . Turmeric supplements and extra essential oils for maintenance , apples with the peals and a sprinkle of cinnamon . We eat seeds and nuts they are a really healthy treat too. We are doing well and enjoying cooking this lovely soup for our health . I am so Thankfull for what your sharing ❤️on your channel and I am sharing your videos with my family and friends. Thank you Doc. 🌳🐕🦺😊🕊️✨
@@MaryArnold-d4m ✨Maybe some might not like it or have a reaction . Perhaps small dogs might not tolerate them as well IDK . I have never had a bad reaction happen. My dogs have always eaten onions . Re adding extra potassium to an aging pup's diet: Ounce per ounce, beef has more potassium than bananas, without the fructose that worsens diabetes or cataracts. 3 oz of beef has 234 mg, while 3 oz of banana has 211 mg... plus, beef has more overall nutrition such as protein, minerals and vitamins. Yet somehow, bananas are always pushed as being an excellent source of potassium, even for diabetics, when beef is a superior source of nutrition. I learned this little known potassium fact 20 years ago when I was diagnosed with diabetes, but rather than taking the insulin and Metformin my doctor prescribed, I chose to manage my disease with a very low carb diet instead. Something to consider...
Great advice for natural products and inexpensive foods to help older dogs. My golden retriever is 10, and she has had vegetables, fruits, rice, and meat all of her life. It’s hard to remember a meal where she didn’t have an egg. I shall get some coconut oil and introduce sardines as a treat. Thank you 😊
Thanks Dr. Jones for another amazing video. You have taught me so much over the years! So I thought I remember reading about a potential conflict with Turmeric and NSAIDs but I can’t seem to find it. If a 12 year old Terrier takes Rimadyl daily for arthritis should I continue to avoid Turmeric due to the conflicting anti-inflammatory effects?!
So glad you just posted this now. I’ve been looking up how to get my senior diabetic Pomeranian to eat. He isn’t hungry despite taking Entyce in the morning.
Cold pressed hexane free organic castor oil. 1 drop per day in dogs eyes for about 6 months. I have done it for myself and my cataracts are almost gone.
Ever since the lockdown, I've switched to feeding my senior dog only wholesome unprocessed foods - Fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, meat and fish, and drizzled with olive oil or coconut oil. Sometimes I throw in some seeds - Chia, Flax, etc. I give him a dog multivitamin to make up for any thing that could be lacking in his freshly prepared meals. And his fur and skin is better than ever. I would love to add canned sardines to his diet and was wondering if the salt in canned sardines is fine.

My dog now 7 years old has always done well with BilJac. Now the only time he doesn’t get loose stool is if I make him people food. Scrambled eggs, rice, pumpkin and cooked hamburger. Not all of those at the same time. I switch it up. Btw. He’s a Golden Retriever
I feed my dogs those foods as well. Recently I have switched to quinoa instead of rice. It has a lot of protein and really tasty! Sometimes I will put chopped boiled chicken in it. No, they aren’t spoiled! 😅
Keep an eye on those stools (we all love a good poop check 😂) and maybe try adding a good probiotic or digestive enzyme to his diet. It could help balance things out! 🐕💩

I use Coconut oil for when my little dog has mite bites that are driving him mad with itching, and it works straight away.Just smother it on, and it,s safe for them to lick.My grandson also had a cherry angiola, a type of skin tag, right where his school shirt fastened, which was rubbing and causing it to bleed all the time.I gave him some coconut oil to rub on, and after a few days it dried up and fell off.Brilliant stuff!.
*Bach flowers help a lot with anxiety*
I’m doing l this right now with my Buddy
My dogs get dried bananas .
Sardines in water since I have a KD dog.
Hand signals now for Buddy
It works!
Thank you Dr. Jones
Does Olive oil work for dog in KD? My dog has chronic pancreatitis, so have to watch fats.
@@llhar894 olive oil is fine, I have my KD dog on Dr Harvey’s canine health and u add protein and olive oil plus water to it
She has been on it for almost a year
I just buy the sardines in water
I don’t trust the oil in sardines
I love you doctor...you are so good
great video! we are making sure our 14-year-old terrier mix is walking every day, eating her healthy food, and continuing to enjoy her best life. At least she no longer sees the squirrels on our walks.
I had no idea Tula was 13 years old! What a sweetheart and such a cooperative and obedient dog. ❤❤ my dogs would never let me rub something on their teeth like she does. 😅
She sure knows how to work the camera (and the treats)! Not every pup is a fan of dental care, but patience, a tasty reward can work wonders. 😄
Thank you! I have 3 SENIOR doxies (16)y.o. I have been using most of your recommendations 2024 ! It seems like it helps 😊
You’ve got a pack of wise seniors there! Keep it up, and give them all a belly rub from me! 😄
Thank you so very much so helpful ❤❤❤
I went to visit my son in NY for 2 weeks ehen I came home my 15 year old 🐕 had a cloud in both her eyes that were not there beforehand. I put on Neowake bio frequency for eyesight and in just one session of 30 min her eyes are clear again. Just passing this on to anyone open minded enough to try it to help both themselves and their animals. Loads free here on youtube. Blessings and gratitude for your sharing your knowledge with all of us trying to be holistic. 🙏😇💝
Yes, I,ve been trying them for myself and my dog, we,re not Spring chickens.😊
@@paulinedrewery3759 neither am I a spring chicken 😂 they really work for me for everything. 🥳 I am 71 and not on any medication for anything. So grateful to have woken up and realise that I am an energy frequency that can be harmonised by the same vibration. Blessings 🙏
I know how frequency's heal. Now to look up this machine...thanks‼️‼️‼️
I have a 10 year old Pyrenes x Anatolian Shepard. He's 179 lbs. I adopted him 2 years ago from Florida he was covered in countless yeast sores and a double ear infection. I took him home with me 2 Maine. 10,000 dollars in vet bills later I found a good diet and He is on Apoquel. I still have to really watch his skin and he has chronic ear infections. I just want to thank you for your videos on ear care and home yeast remedies or the vet bills will still be piling up! The 186 dollar a month Apoquel bill is hard enough. Youre doing God's work by helping the Animals and us who love them and struggle with the bills. Thank You!!
$10,000 wow!
You really are the best, Dr. Jones! You have done so much to help my little Spunky 🐕🐩 He is a 13 year old poodle/Chihuahua mix, he'll be 14 on 10/10. Sometimes he has a cough, like when he wakes up, after drinking water, is picked up etc. Are allergies a possiblity? He used to get bad reverse sneezing, but after taking quercetin for the past year or so, that has thankfully stopped 🙏
Not Dr. Jones but have your vet check for collapsed trachea - very common cause of cough in small dogs. My mini poodle has it.
@@baxter8it Thank you! The vet has checked before and didn't find any sign of it, but I'm thinking maybe it's a mild case of collapsed trachea. I wish Dr. Jones could be his vet, it's so hard to find a good one!
Brilliant vet, thanks Dr Jones
Coconut oil works!!! I get it from the Dollar General. My dogs LOVE IT! They lick it off my finger, out of container, and off their paw where I put it when in hurry. GREAT teeth. Etc. I recommend it too! My senior dog loves it. He craves it. A MUST HAVE.
Just be mindful of portion size-too much could upset tummies. But if your senior pup’s loving it and thriving, keep up the good work!
Coconut oil has been so beneficial for my dog, too! The best coconut oil is organic, unrefined, and extra virgin coconut oil 👍 🥥 I get mine at Walmart or Aldi's!
It'd be great to see Tula's 30 day results! ❤❤❤
From watching your videos I look like a scientist preparing the dogfood ,a little bit of this a dash of that a sprinkle of the other but my two girls appreciate and eat everything and they arent Labradors😊if they live to a hundred it is thanks to you❤
I dehydrate kale and then grind it and add some to homemade food. Thanks for these tips!
My old dog has every one of the problems you spoke on. Great info, starting on these today!
Good luck and keep me posted!
Another fabulous video! Thank you so much Doc, We are all so very grateful. Ive texted you before, Steve in the Philippines. Feeding 13 rescue dogs at home and up to 25 street dogs every day. Thankfully bananas and coconuts are so cheap here, but kale is non existent, but I have other green leaf options. I've followed your diet tips for ages now, with the Turmeric, garlic, onoins, and I have seen so many amazing results! Thanks again Doc. God Bless and lots of love to Tula
Great video! I just came from the Vet this week and ask for this exact information and I didn't get this. Thank you so much! I'm glad I'm doing almost everything except sardines and using dog omega 3's. I can save money and use my EVOO. 🤗🤗🤗
Would be nice if you did a video for us dog parents with small and extra small dogs.(10 pounds and under) My dog is 4 pounds and it would be nice to know the measurements for her and what things to look out for her as a 16 year old senior. She is still walking around, but sleeps Alot. The Veterinarians never give you any information. It's sad. 😢
Thanks again for another informative video.
Question, how do you naturally treat a dog that get seizures? Thank you
Mugly, my niece had an eighteen-year-old chihuahua that had seizures, and a local natural vet suggested she give her dog a dab of honey.
It's so nice to hear you believe that our pets are worth taking good care of. Thank you for telling me how to feed my Lova, named after a dear aunt.
My jack russell turned 13 this summer. I eat all but the sardines. He is Mr Picky, but loves the sardines, eggs and coconut oil.
Excellent information! Please do more videos for cats. Such as with brain tumors, cancer, kidney disease etc
I’m definitely planning more videos on cats. Stay tuned for feline content coming soon!
thank u doc😍
Are you going to give zTula dental cleaning yourself put her under or something you probably do without doing that?
2 sardines a week for cats according to Doctor Gruget who I also watch.
😮
my dogs love cale. put olive oil on and let it soak in for half a day .. they gobble it up . thanks for the great info .
Thanks Dr. Jones! I have a 15 yo chihuahua and hope this helps her!
Keep up the great work with her, and remember-those little seniors often have more fight in them than we think! Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for the valuable info.
Love your videos! Thank you for all the wonderful options for us to try!!❤
Dr.Berg sited newer studies for cataract with N acisity carosine (spelling probable off ,but not cistine)
Could only find it (as he said ) in dog eye drops...so thats what i got .....
Thank you Dr I have two little doggies that are 15 years old,I do give them some of this already, but I will try this other things 😊
Sounds like keto for dogs. It’s been great for me!
Just watched Dr Greger & Keto 🙈
Thank you so much for this recipe Doc. The ingredients are so wholesome.🧡
Glad you like them!
New Video Fridaaaay!
So do I!
I have this product as well. Thanks for asking this question.
✨Dr . Jones , I am poaching eggs for my 12 year old Mastiff and myself right now 😁
I have been giving my boy my homemade soups .
☺️ It’s the best delivery system for the bodies absorption , utilizing the nutrients where they are needed 😉👍
If I don’t have beans I substitute with a healthy noodle , I just found a 100% Organic Buckwheat noodle so that may go into this soup recipe that just keeps on giving. 🙏🏼
I am giving my dog castor oil treatments on his callouses , lumps and bumps .
Onions are toxic to dogs
@@MaryArnold-d4m ✨Maybe some might not like it or have a reaction . Perhaps small dogs might not tolerate them as well IDK . I have never had a bad reaction happen. My dogs have always eaten onions .
If the onions were toxic my dogs would have gotten sick.
My dogs love them and would eat them raw or cooked. Same goes for garlic . They also like spicy foods with curry powder and pepper. ✨🌲🌳🐕🦺😊🕊️✨
I have an older fur baby and has heart disease and was feeding her sardines 3 times a week but has salt so I quit giving them to my babies she did love them ❤
Thank you for your insights and directions. Luckily we are almost giving all foods to our senior dog except Sardine which we will add on her diet.
I have expanded my knowledge about animals in general and dogs in particular, thank you
What an awesome video. Thank you!
Excellent tip thank you
I have 4 Chihuahuas that are 13 years old because I got them at the same time
Thank you from my kitchen to yours!!❤
Like mine, poor baby...trop mignon ! I gave her olive oil too !! I did not think about the kale so I will add it ! Thank you .
Cold pressed hexane free organic castor oil. 1 drop per day in dogs eyes for about 6 months. I have done it for myself and my cataracts are almost gone.
Have heard this from other people, seems to work well!!!
Which multivitamin do you like?
@@lisakaye9340 The one I've been giving has pretty much everything including Glucosamine. I also give him a Cranberry supplement and Fish oil, with the go-ahead from his vet.
My rattie is super healthy 12yrs old. Eats clean food amd not over v a. Xed ❤
Thanks very helpful !
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this, and all your videos! I never knew about most of these especially the coco-rub! Loved hearing about your brother too, that was fun!
Thank you!! Do you have any recommendations for a 15 year old dog that constantly gets gas pains?
Thank you,Dr. Jones.
Thank you Doctor for these tips! My baby is turning 14 next month! 🐶🐾❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤
You're welcome😊
Thank you so much. Quite timely that i saw this clip. My 10 y.o. shi tzu does show symptoms or anxiety whenever i exit our door or when i open the gate. Also, the food to add. She has been on cardiac pellets for over a year and I'm careful with her diet. Thank you.
Thanks. 13.5 year old doggie here so thanks for the advice ❤
Any word on N-Acetyl Carnitine for cataracts? I've been giving to my dog for 2 months and there seems to be some improvement.
Can you give more information. How much do you give your dog, and how much does he weigh? Thanks 😊
Thank you for addressing all these issues. My dogs are 11 and 12
Thank you. This is exactly the advice I needed for my 2 oldies.
Thank you so much 🐾🐾
My dog now 7 years old has always done well with BilJac.
Thank you! ❤
My dogs love steamed kale, especially lacinato kale (dinosaur kale). If your dog doesn't like plain kale, mash the sardines in with the steamed kale.
Love your videos thank you! God bless you!💙🙏💙🙏
Great content!! Thanks!!
Welcome!
Thank you sooo much for all your great advice!! I can’t afford to go to the vet and your advice has helped me so much ❤❤❤thank you, thank you ❤❤
