This is awesome! Just did my first Zoom call with one of my clients and they loved the quality! I'm using the Rebel SL2.

Can you guys PLEASSE add windows 11 AND make new firmware for the Rebel T6 so I can remove the focus square? some very simple things that should be expected from such a big cooperation!
When will the m100 be added? I’m hoping they will since the m200 is on the list
please make a windows 11 supported version! love this tool
Where can I get the cable on this video? Mini HDMI to USB 3.0? Thank you!
Hi Daniel:
The cable used in this video, on the EOS RP camera, was a USB C (camera side) to standard USB 3.0 Type -A (computer side). You would want to search for a USB cable with these connectors if you are creating the same setup shown in the video. The EOS Webcam Utility only works over USB; not HDMI.

@@CanonUSA ok tks. My EOS 70D has Mini HDMI and an old version usb. Guess bc is not a new cam.
Is Apple's Facetime compatibility coming for Windows?
Hey Canon! will you add EOS1300D to this soon!?!?
Hi! We made EOS Webcam Utility with US-model cameras in mind, so we're unable to guarantee compatibility with Canon cameras not available here. If you need help with your EOS 1300D, you'll want to contact the Canon company that serves the country or region your camera was intended for. You can find them by visiting canon.us/globalsupport and clicking on the map.

This is such an awesome release but can Canon please add the G7X to the list? I'd love to be able to use this software!
works perfectly on canon 70D.
When do you add the support EOS M?
can you send the footage to multiple programs at once on the PC when doing HDMI out?
Hi! If you're using a camera with a clean HDMI feed, your computer and the applications on it will determine what happens to the incoming video signal. This may include using the same video signal simultaneously across multiple applications if your setup allows for it.
Hope this helps!
it worked
600D. Thank you
will canon EOS60D will be supported in the future? and will you consider partnering with Strewamlabs OBS for gaming streamers?
Hi Dante. Keep checking back on our EOS Webcam Utility page for future updates and announcements at: canon.us/livestream
this is great, it worked quite nicely with my 6d mark ii. barely any setup
Very cool! Thanks for your efforts on this and getting the Windows version out of beta.
Would be nice to state that people who are wondering if its power from usb the answer is no. You should of detailed this in the video as some may not understand. So in order to PROPERLY Run this you need A. A battery or B a power supply battery with ac adapter or all this is invalid to work.
Exelent! I am connected my 600D In Serbia. Video is briliant! Thank you! :)
Will this also work with screen recording software, such as Camtasia?

I have been successfully using the Canon Utility beta on my Win 7 computer. Now I upgraded to a new Win 10 computer but after downloading Utility, I no longer have the EOS Utility appear in my streaming program. I have been using a Canon EOS M50 and I've not had issues before, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Hi! EOS Webcam Utility and EOS Utility are two separate things and each one will need to be installed individually. You can download both by visiting the page for your camera and then clicking on the "Drivers & Downloads" link.

i have a canon 2000d and this utility even worked for that one.
Can't wait to test it on my PowerShot G9X Mark II, is there a chance to see it on the complatibility list soon?

Hi.
When will we be able get live stream for multiple cameras.. That way we can get feeds from different focal length
Add support for Rebel XSI / 450D so i can dust it off the shelf. Works flawlessly in linux so the ability for the camera to do it is there.
The EOS Webcam Utility is a life saver!
I would like to ask if there is a way to use my two Canon EOS D2000 with Webcam Utility in OBS...
I tried to do but only one worked out.
Hi, Stavros! Great solution but is there any way to make this wireless? The W-Lan connection is too low quality unfortunately. Do I have to buy an expensive image transmitter + HDMI capture card or do you have another trick up your sleeve Canon?
Hello:
If you need a higher resolution solution, we recommend the Clean HDMI option if your camera model outputs Clean HDMI. You can check here: canon.us/cleanhdmi.
We hope this helps.
@@CanonUSA Hey thanks for answering. Unfortunately it's an EOS 80D, so I'll probably have to stick to the wire :I
Hi like the composition of this (0:39). What is the setup here? Lens? room size, distance of the subject from the camera and likely space behind the subject?
Any ideas?
Hi, Jag! While Genaro has a nice setup, everyone's environment will vary. With EOS Webcam Utility, your Canon camera can help your own space look great on your next live stream or video conference. Be sure to give it a try!

Because this is a direct killer to capture cards, namely the cam link 4K, are there still any improvements to be made? Up to what resolution will the utility go?
Hi Canon, I have an EOS 700D model, would that sort of brand work In terms of live streaming? Just I don't like using my mobile phone when live streaming.
Hi Nathan. The EOS 700D is not a USA camera model that is supported for this EOS Webcam Utility. You’ll want to check with our Canon Europe friends for software information at: canon.us/3CXYwio
Can you somehow make it a 16:9 aspect ratio/resolution? It’s off putting knowing you have to crop
Hi! If you haven't already done so, be sure to check the settings in your preferred videoconferencing or livestreaming application. Those settings can play a big part in how your image shows up and some applications may include adjustable aspect ratio settings.

You have to pay monthly or annually just to beable to use your 1000 dollar camera as a webcam? Do the other cameras out there do this?
The software is still free to use. For advanced features, there is the option to subscribe.
@@CanonUSA Streaming in HD with higher framerate is locked behind a paywall. Unless you pay a monthly or yearly subscription. Otherwise your stuck using 720p 30 fps, without any customization to your scene. If your planning on streaming, your probably better off with a regular webcam thats not locked.
Thank you, Canon! This might seem trivial but it opens up a whole new world to Canon users and fans. Now I have a HD webcam.
However since you have the device drivers developed, may I suggest that you make them available to other generic applications? This would be greatly appreciated by astrophotographers using Canon cameras. We use tools like TheSkyX, SharpCap, and many more. Sometimes we would like to broadcast live celestial objects being photographed and it proves just impossible.
Furthermore, would the webcam functionality work over HDMI too? Many new devices don't have USB but do have HDMI. You at @Canon know better the advantage of HDMI over USB already, so I will stop here and appreciate your excellent efforts to release this webcam functionality.
Hi! Select Canon cameras and camcorders offer clean HDMI feeds that you can use for livestreaming or videoconferencing. To learn more, visit canon.us/2n5u7 and scroll to the end of the page.
Hope this helps!
It works great. It just seems to be limited to 720p. Is there a way to change that?
Hello:
The resolution of the video stream through the USB feed cannot be changed. If you need a higher resolution output please consider utilizing HDMI options offered by your camera model, if compatible.
Hope this helps.
@@CanonUSA Thanks for replying. I was confused, because in the video, he said to set the camera to a full hd setting. Does this even do anything or would 720p work also? Are the FPS locked as well?
ugh, no camera audio? Would be a cool thing to have for quick stuff. I do typically use a podcasting mic, but good to have it synced up
How does the quality compare to using a cam link / video capture through the HDMI? Should it be the same? I would be using a 70D.
Hi, Will! If your Canon camera can produce a clean HDMI feed, that would provide you with a high-quality alternative for livestreaming. Learn more about this feature and which cameras offer it at canon.us/livestream

I have a Canon EOS 2000D, can this be used as a webcam? Its not on the list and this was a gift as i wanted a good camera for streaming.
Hi! For support, we recommend contacting the Canon company that supports the part of the world your camera was intended for. You can find them by visiting canon.us/globalsupport and clicking on the map.

It worked with eos m50. Fantastic
Hello! I was wondering if it is possible to access this older version of the Canon utility. Whenever I visit the website the only one you guys show is the pro version, and I don't want to pay for that subscription to use my camera. Any way I can use the webcam utility you guys have here now?
Does this support the G7X MKii? I just got one today for streaming in OBS and it doesn't seem to be supported, if that's the case I just lost $500 :(. I was looking forward to using a Canon camera for it since my family has always trusted this brand, but I guess I wasn't so lucky. Please, if there is a way to use the MKii, let me know, it would be INSANELY helpful! Have a great day!
Hello Rican:
The Webcam Utility does work with OBS, however, it is compatible with the PowerShot G7 X Mark III camera. You can find a list of all compatible cameras on our streaming webpage at the link here: Canon.us/n7tkr.

@@CanonUSA so it doesn't work for the GX7 MKii? Because I knew it worked for the MKiii, but I can't find anything for the MKii
@@Ricanuski We know the names can be a little confusing, so to clarify, the PowerShot G7 X Mark III and the PowerShot G5 X Mark II are supported by EOS Webcam Utility. We're unable to ensure compatibility with other PowerShot G-series cameras.

Is it planned to upgrade soft so it would be possible to tranfer also sound via USB?
BRAVO Canon! The Beta software was the only reason I purchased the SL3 - just to use as a webcam for higher quality. I have been using the Beta version happily. It has been stable for Zoom video up to 8 hours straight. Should I upgrade - meaning are there any improvements in resolution, color, battery life, or anything else? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello:
While it is your choice there will be no support or improvements for the Beta version. Beginning at 3:14 of the video, Genaro reviews the improvements found in the new version 1.0. These include more supported camera models, compatibility with more streaming/video conferencing apps, the ability to record a video file to the camera memory card while streaming and availability of the Utility outside the United States.
We hope this helps.
@@CanonUSA Thank you. Much grateful - that is very quick reply. A+. So if none of the improvements add anything for my particular usage, it looks like I should just stay with the Beta? I just read of a comment in this thread where someone unloaded their Beta and loaded the new version and now the camera is not recognized. Thank you for your reply. Appreciate the help.
Hello, I've got a rebel t7i, and for some reason, I just can't get it to work with this software. I downloaded it, plugged in the usb cable, and the app doesn't respond at all. My camera knows that it's plugged in at least because it doesn't allow me to use menus or buttons while it's plugged in. Any suggestions?
