Thank you so much for this video. As a child I was humiliated and belittled for counting on my fingers, my problems with math persisted with a continuing poor foundation in mathematics and incompetent teachers. Because of this, my mathematical abilities were stunted for decades.
Lol, a man that I've never met in my life from a country I've only ever heard of is helping me undo 30 years worth of a mental blockage against math. smh

I prefer to do the calculations with my mind, but with this method I understood that it is easier to add and subtract 100 to 900, 10 to 90, and 1 to 9.
    example: 789 + 137
    700 + 100 =800
    89+37 = 100 (-20) & 10 (-1) + 30 & 7
    800 + 100 = 900
    30 + 10 = 40 - 20 = 20
    7-1 = 8
    total 928
I already know in my mind that 89 will be a 100 and a 10, so I immediately come to the solution that the total is around 900 just as that 30 has a +10 and a -20 and the only addition or subtraction I have to do is 7 -1

Probably because pen and paper exists, also this doesn't help for multiplication, division and calculus.
Basically, how will this help in finding x and y where:
      4x + 9y = 11
      2x - 3y = 3
      ans: x = 2, y = 1/3
      Or finding all roots for x² + 14x + 13 = 0
      ans: x = -1 and -13
Sure, it'll help with addition and subtraction, though that's pretty primitive.

Is there any tricks, that requires less memory (retention power) to calculate?
The finger tricks is already pre-loaded with instructions that itself requires a good memory power.
So if someone is able to remember all those instructions (finger-math) while also keeping a track of it, would it even matter to do this trick for such mental power, rather then going conventional/mental math?
