    **How to Calculate your starting Protein Macro for 80/20:
    Starting High Fat Carnivore (also called 80/20 and KetoAF(Animal Fats)) begins with lowering your protein. here is what I have picked up and applied to myself:
    1. First you need your IDEAL weight. I found mine here: www.calculator.net/ideal-weig... PLEASE NOTE: This is not necessarily your goal weight! It's only for calculation purposes!
    2. Eat between 1.2 and 1.4 grams protein per kg of ideal body weight.
    In my case, my ideal weight is 56kg (123lbs). So my protein range will be between 67.2g (1.2x56) and 78g(1.4x56) per day.
    3. Then divide that number by 3 (or however many meals you will eat) which for me I will target between 22 and 26 grams protein per meal.
    4. Then having that info I know I will also want to eat between double to triple the fat at each meal. So if I eat 25 grams of protein at a meal, then I will want to eat 50-75 grams of fat at that same meal.
    **This plan will not work for OMAD, and likely not even for 2MAD (as I found out!) because it is also recommended to keep protein at a max of 30 grams in one sitting in order to not spike blood sugar.

    I need to take a look at this on hubby's laptop instead of just on my phone. It might be easier for me. I love the scanner feature. I did that for my sardines and like you, the numbers came up a little different but close enough.

    Great two tutorials, Anita. Cronometer seems much better than other trackers. Definitely going to give it a try and get back on track after the holidays. Thank you so much. I really enjoy your channel. Wishing you many blessings and success in 2023! Happy & Blessed New Year!

    Truly a helpful and very well paced, video of guidance. Thanks especially also for mentioning how the nutrients may be included but the language is embedded and your ‘pointer’ right to where was new for me. I’m still figuring out my own macros, so this gave me a valuable tip for more guidance.

    If you use the app, you can scan the bar code of the food. Some features of saving nutrients are only available with a paid account.

      Yes, you can and I find that very handy! But you can only scan foods that already exist in their database.

    I am so glad you did these two videos! I learned so much about Chronometer that I didn't know! Thank you SO much Anita! I don't think you did an import of a recipe (example - a Maria Emmerich recipe) so maybe that could be something going forward

    Happy New Year Anita to you and yours! Thanks for the help with this. Just wondering what ketone blood meter do you use. I use an Oncall meter and the strips are soo pricey!

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  Рік тому

      I started out with Keto Mojo but being in Canada the strips are expensive and so is the shipping. I am using the Foracare now, strips are still pricy but at least I can get here with free shipping so that is a savings. I think probably the strips will be expensive no matter which unit.

    Thank you for this great tutorial. How would you accomodate lean and keto days in the macros PSMF/Keto?

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  10 місяців тому +1

      Under Settings>>Target Scheduler you can assign macros to each day of the week but I have a feeling that it might be part of the paid membership.

    Great Part 2 vid! Question, how do I input the ribeye fat trimmings? I just used the beef fat choice, is that okay? Thanks!

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  Рік тому +1

      There is one in cronometer called Beef Fat and I use that one! I weigh after cooking because so much fat does drain off. Save the fat for cooking by the way!

    What's the best way for husband and wife, who eat the majority of the same (but not all) and don't want to individually enter the custom recipes, etc. to most easily use Cronometer successfully? Does anyone know if Cronometer can sync 2 accounts (from the same family)? Any suggestions for making it easier for my Mr Wonderful hubby is greatly appreciated. 😘

      Gee that is a great question and would be a good feature! I think you can add a friend and then share foods and recipes with them.

    I read dem Brights book and I am totally confused. I think she was mixing up numbers a lot. Like she is saying you need as much protein in grams as you weih in kilos. In the next paragraph she if you weigh 60 kg you need 100 grams of protein. Then she says ratio fat protein 8O to 20 and at the same time she writes 100 grams of protein and 150 grams of fat. That has nothing to do with 80/20. How did you work around these contradictions yourself?

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  Рік тому

      I read her book after I started 80/20. I use cronometer to tell me if I'm hitting my macros! So first I worked out my protein requirement and the instructions for that are right in the video notes of this video you are commenting on. So for me that number is somewhere between 60g-75g protein per day (macros not weight!). Roughly 3-4 ounces meat per meal x 3 meals. So then depending on how fatty the meat is, I add more fat in the form of butter usually until the little pie chart shows 80/20. If the protein is lean like chicken breast that could be 2-3 tbsp fat, a burger patty might need 1-2 tbsp butter, pork belly is already over 80% fat so that one's good. Hope that makes sense!

    My question is about pork belly. They list it as raw but I cook it. You can get a pork belly Jerky but that seems too dried out to me. I bake mine in the oven at 350 for about 15 minutes How do you account for the fat loss? Thanks.

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  Рік тому

      For high fat items like pork belly, pork jowls and beef fat trimmings it only makes sense to me to measure those after cooking. There is way too much left in the pan to not account for it! I'll address this in an upcoming cronometer followup video

    Are the macros for meats for the raw or cooked weight?

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  Рік тому

      I will address this more fully in a Q&A but it depends. Short answer is to use raw weight if possible and the info is provided.
