Seether has a ton of great songs, and most of them are pretty deep. Rise Above This comes to mind, Shaun wrote it about his brother Eugene who committed suicide by jumping off the building they were staying at while on tour.
Seether...they aren't many I don't like. There so many I love I'm not sure I could name all in a sitting. I'd have to roll a playset I have of most of there stuff. Amy Lee "Call me when you're sober" to Shaun & Suggest Breakdown by Seether he slung back at her. Im just greatful it sparked such pain and blow me away music from both.
if im remembering correctly this song was originally recorded as a solo with just the band seether and was about the singer missing his daughter. . then it was rerecorded as a duet with amy and kinda morphed into a relationship/love song
I can see it making sense in both contexts. Even with Amy I could see a couple that might have lost a kid relating to this song as well. Its all about what emotions hit you for what reasons. Seeing a song in a different light is a big part of why music can be so interesting.
Correct, Shaun wrote the song about missing his young daughter while he was out on the road. Then he started dating Amy Lee and she came in as the duet. Def can give you two meanings if you look at it that way.
If I'm not mistaken, this was written for Shaun's daughter... Such an all-around beautiful song, and the combination of their voices is just breathtaking
Kudos to Asia for opening her heart and mind to another genre of music. Warms my heart and my soul. This coming from a metalhead who loves the sultry sounds of a Bob Seger, Eagles and my beloved SRV. Love the openness. Blessings
That would be the violin, and other stringed instruments. It's possible they were synthesized, or prerecorded with an actual orchestra or individually added in.
Seether is a big part of my 20's they are under appreciated and one of my favorite bands your should listen to more of them songs like driven under, truth, the gift, sympathetic all great
Fun fact, Shaun Morgan of seether and Amy Lee were a couple for a while but they broke up because of his drinking problem. She wrote the song call me when you’re sober about him, that would be a cool on for you guys to do!
That sound you are trying to figure out are stringed instruments (cello, violin etc.). And whoever mixed this track definitely did it due justice, because when those strings come in, it takes the song to a whole apocalyptic level paired with the visuals of the video.
I've been a massive fan of Seether ever since I heard Rise Above This back in the day. That song hit me somewhere I don't even know. Seether is my favorite band. There's just something about Shaun Morgan's raspy voice. He has such a uniqueness to him. His cover of Careless Whisper is amazing!
My guys you are reacting to great songs! Props for that! The instruments you heard in that interlude were violins mostly and probably some cello. Keep it up guys! The lead singer, Shaun Morgan, is who Amy Lee wrote Call Me When You're Sober about. They were in a relationship during this time, and he had a serious drug problem.
