Pretty much almost all of the "The Open Door" album was about him and the experience she felt, the pain, the loneliness, the betrayal, all of it. It's how she copes with stuff, she makes music about it. Obviously, "call me when you're sober" was the most on the nose one, but she herself said that the majority of songs were inspired by all that she went through during their toxic relationship. I still love this song though, even though I know he hurt Amy, because I separate the artist from the art, and this song is beautiful.
This song was used as the soundtrack for the Marvel movie The Punisher which was released in the year 2004, starring Thomas Jane as Frank Castle/Punisher. This song fits perfectly well for that movie, including its story and essences of it.
I was lucky enough to see Seether`s last gig in South Africa as Saron Gas in 2001, they played at a club in Edenvale called The Doors, they left SA shortly after and the rest is history...home town boys did good!
Been listening to this, heavy in my rotation, all week while working! Love Amy Lee. This was a time when I was expanding my music pallet to include more rock! Great song!
After the loss of my two siblings, I got the songs title tattooed in me. The lyrics really remind me of them, and the song helps me deal with the pain. Music heals what life breaks ❤
This was all over the radio after The Punisher (2004) was released. Could be where your familiarity was from. Thank you for this. Gaining perspective is always constructive... I needed that. Thank you for another honest, insightful consideration. Cheers!
Seether is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. So many great songs. Rise Above This, The Gift, Love Her, Words as Weapons, Tonight, Pass Slowly, & Never Leave are a few I can listen to almost every day. Also their cover of a song called Black Honey was phenomenal. Hope you get to listen to at least a few of these in the future.
You should definitely check out Seether's cover of George Michael's "Careless Whisper". You will discover the true meaning of this song (George Michael said he regrets that people didn't understand what it was about) and will definitely be blown away. (unfortunatly no video clip of this one)
Awesome reaction! Seether is one of the best bands still playing. They have a acoustic album that is SO good. It’s called “ One Cold Night “ . You should check it out. It’s amazing!! Thanks
This is one of favorite collabs, Amy Lee is always stunning and his voice is awesome. If you haven't seen it, another fantastic duo is Lizzy Hale and Amy Lee doing a live session of Break In (Halestorm song : link ua-cam.com/video/OUuVReJSrc4/v-deo.html )
Thanks for the time machine ride today I agree this is like older rock that I love so thanks for reminding me I like this song quite a bit the entire sound of it is just nostalgic for me. as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo
Amy Lee has always been one of my absolute favorite vocalists. You should absolutely check out the video for her song Everybody's Fool. Heavy themes of isolation, depression, and living a performative lie in public
Ive always loved and connected to this song due to felling broken and lost most of my life and then after my wife found and saved me pulling me out of hell it gave us both hope because we weren't alone in our strugles anymore because we had one another to fight together but then after going through her struggles side by side with her leading to the day she passed away in 2020 at only 31 years old the meaning that this song has now taken on only reminds me again how lost broken and alone I really am all over again the gods got it wrong, they took the wrong one, it should have been me she deserved a long life and the world was so much brighter with her waking up in it every day. It should have been me i wish it was me
I know this song very well! This one hits deep lyrically and musically. Reminds me of the last 6 years of my life. I was in a relationship that ended last month. We both had a playlist on Spotify, just for each other to listen to. This song was one of the last songs I put in the playlist. That’s why it hits so deep. Thanks for your encouraging reaction! I really needed that!
As a South African, nothing make me feel more some sick than these dudes. The name Seether is actually from a song by a band of the name Veruca Salt...you should check it out. Also this is the 2nd version of this track. Originally came out earlier with no Amy Lee.
I discovered Ren 6 days ago and I've been obsessed ever since, I just saw that in one of his short he mentioned a reaction from you, I come on your channel and the newest video features Amy Lee, aka my absolute all time favourite singer, I think this is a sign from the universe that I'd better just subscribe!
I was able to seem them do this live together when Seether was opening for Nickelback, and the lead singer was dating Amy. He called her out to the stage for this song. Amazing!
This is one of my favourite duet songs 🥰 I can relate to it alot for years after a bad experience with a new councillor I felt I didn't have anyone I could open up to fully like my first councillor that they changed me away from 🥺🥺 and music was my only way of communicating my feelings with the lyrics I feel into a music coma for hours and didn't talk to anyone it helps calm my nerves and I can focus on things in the last 12 years I've found a few good friends and reconnected with family that I haven't seen or talked to in years and in 2016 I founded my current boyfriend who has helped with alot and I don't know where I'd be without him now 🥰 🥰
This song NEVER got old no matter how many times I've listened to it. I love Seether, Amy Lee / Evanescance, and so many others from that era. If you want to hear two pretty cool Amy Lee collaborations if you hadn't before, I'd recommend Halestorm Ft. Amy Lee - Break In ua-cam.com/video/OUuVReJSrc4/v-deo.html, and Lindsey Stirling ft. Amy Lee - Love Goes On and On ua-cam.com/video/cDlGFbBipCo/v-deo.html
Listened to you talking about plants sprouting up through concrete. Instantly made me think of a rap song called "Call It Quits" by Crypt, Jelly Roll and Adam Calhoun. Not asking or expecting any reaction but you should definitely check out that song if you haven't. It literally pumps adrenaline.
Oh this took me back! Love it. I don't know if you'll ever read this, but please, PLEASE, make a video on a Amigo The Devil song! Guitar, vocals, emotions, he has all! From the cheeky, ironic ones, to songs about serial killers, but most importantly sweet, deep songs "about the human condition", as I like to call them. It's difficult to tell which of his songs are my favourites, but I think these would be perfect for a reaction: -Cocaine and Abel -Stronger than Dead -Different Anymore -Another Man's Grave -First Day of the End of My Life His lyrics can be VERY heavy, I feel like I need to warn everyone that they might trigger you if you had certain experiences or are living with some of the feelings he sings about. I'd love for you to react to one, Rosalie! ❤️
With everyone talking about how far NF has come in his life...(true) But please could you try this experiment in a video: Listen to the Staind song "Break" off their early record. Pay attention to the lyrics. Then listen to "So Far Away" by Staind. Wow!!! "So Far Away" is already an amazing song but will bring a tear to your eye when you realize how far he came as a person as well.
Found your channel a month or so ago and love what you're doing (and that's coming from someone who usually doesn't have much use for reaction videos). I'd love to hear your take on one or more of the new pieces from Nickel Creek that have dropped recently. Great work and God bless!
@@jeremyphillips6229 It was an NF reaction that popped up in my case. I've been following him since Mansion came out. This channel is actually responsible for introducing me to Ren (thanks for that by the way, Rosalie).
Hello Rosalie Reacts been looking for people to react to a song that holds a lot of sentimental value for me. I am a person who suffers from CPTSD and seeing you as a person who knows of these things, you will understand the song and how I it relates to me. its been 6 years since my traumatic experience, and this song I have been listening for last 6 days, the song in question is called "This broken soul by Rebecca Kneubuhl" hope you get a chance to listen to it as it would mean a lot to me. anyway hope you have a beautiful day.
also thank you so much for your kind words at the end of the video it brings me a lot of hope for myself, seriously bless you so much for these words I needed them so much.
This is SUCH a throwback! Great song. If you like this, I feel like you would love this ballad with Kamelot & Charlotte Wessels called Under Grey Skies. It's a different style but I get a similar vibe ua-cam.com/video/0eqcUHPcMEc/v-deo.html
You miss all the magic and sentimental what it about. Amy Lee started so hard whith her unique and angelic voice and you are talking about some vile other 90's and 2000's groups !? My god.
