I didn’t have high hopes at first because i do not know how to make rice. But I followed your guide step by step and it was perfect rice and a good flavor. I am coming along now that ive made my first successful rice. My family loved it. I paired it with your lemon honey chicken. I put a little too much cayenne and red pepper flakes but overall meal was great.

I've seen people get big mad about rinsing white rice. I prefer mine rinsed because of the starch.

      White rice definitely
I only use parboiled rice packed with minerals and vitamin
      No starch

Terrific recipe! Thanks so much!I did everything verbatim but had to add about 1 more cup of water 15 mins after adding rice. I also added a half stick of unsalted butter, teaspoon of onion powder, teaspoon of garlic powder and teaspoon of seasoned salt for folks looking to bump up the flavor profile a bit.

Hi, I live in London where we have a rich Caribbean community and I decided it was high time I learned to cook peas and rice. I've adapted the recipe because I know Scotch Bonnet is hot and I wonder, does that gives the rice a hot flavour? Also, as tinned beans are already cooked, don't they end up overcooked during this process? Do you normally use brown rice as I didn't quite catch the word you used - parboiled? I enjoyed your presentation and look forward to other vegan recipes

When you wash your rice you wash out up to "70%" of the nutrients. Yes you do reduce the starches but in comparison to the nutrients lost I would rather the starches be kept in. I can burn that in a rigorous workout the next day.
