Dominican here. So proud of the Haitian sister for winning!! I’ve never had Haitian rice and beans but reading her recipe, we make it the same way except we add tomato paste/sauce and don’t add scotch bonnet. So I KNOW that rice was bomb. Gonna definitely try her recipe out tho. 🙌🏼

I’m haitian and have had alllll types of rice from Caribbean, Latin American, to SE Asian. I can say with 100% confidence we make the best rice and the secret is cloves and epis 🥰.

The jasmine rice and cloves makes it fragrant and the epis gives a delicious seasoning to the beans :)

As a Jamaican, Denville’s rice looks over seasoned. Patience’s was giving Cajun vibes. Taicha’s looked good, but a bit dry.

@@NouKapab04 idk, I'm from nyc but I've been to Florida 2 times before but only to Orlando. I might be going to Miami this winter. However, I think there's some Boricuas in Fort Lauderdale because one of my cousins moved there with her boyfriend so I think it would be a great place to find some Puerto Rican influence.
