The thing I love about your videos is that you give the background and get to the point without rehashing all you are doing over and over again. Your communication skills and experience developed in the corporate world in communicating with people make listening to you a pleasure. Great job.
Might sound funny but one of the things I look forward to in your videos is the “Hey everybodyyyyy!” Brings a smile to my face and lifts my heart every time I hear it :)
LOL! I loved it when Sarah got Myrtle to cross the fence line! Sarah - you’re the ‘pig whisperer’ 😁!! You guys are a great team and I enjoy watching your videos and how you care for all things! 🐖 🐖 🐖 🐖
Ginger isnt getting tame because pigs are competative eaters. The pig more willing to come close to you gets the most food. Ginger doesnt have to compete for food so she just waits for you to drop it and get our of the way.
The old saying of thunder in February means frost in April. Also when you see the yellow butterflies count 6 to 8 weeks till the weather changes from cold to warm and stays that way. The old ways usually are true.
A suggestion: Your work lane between the pig pens looks useful. If you swapped out the gates for longer ones that would span the lane when opened fully, you could dispense with having to pack the separate hog panel to shut it off. By placing the hinges on opposite sides of each gate, simply swing them across and have the two pens connected until you got through moving pigs. Good job on your channel, well deserved congrats.
Momma Pig: Glad the kids went away to camp! Now she can chill out in peace 😁🐷 Piglets are Adorable! You have such laid back critters it seems. Just be glad you are not here in the "Granite State" as it is literally hit or miss finding ground with no rock to pound stakes into. Stay warm and thank you for sharing all this with us. Peace.
I was thinking the same. I live near Nixa MO and there is no way you could pound a post in our ground. When we dug a hole, we would get almost a bucket of rocks. We had to buy dirt to fill around the plant.
i hope the pigs can't read, you with your I like bacon t shirt on ha ha.. How the piglets have grown and Myrtle enjoying her siesta on her own.. lovely. Poor Charlie didn't want to be on his own again ha ha... Great vlog!
Make your gates swing both ways and place them so when blocking a laneway they both swing out together to form a fence. Piglets don't have to compete with mom now for food 👍
We have a row of tomatoes ,here in Calif. The peas will like the break in the weather. We will not be getting as cold but held off on our plantings until late next week. We will be building tomato supports instead.
FYI: I've seen newborn piglets go through a sheep & goat fence. Being newborns especially, momma was very aggressively trying to get to them. I would put either another strip of fence or pig fence on the bottom of your gate before the other mom has her piglets. It can save you a lot of stress and possibly a emergency situation.
Great video, folk. Down here in East Texas we also are experiencing uncommonly cool weather [pretty hard on an old 75 year old retired GI, but just as you - we're dealing with it. Blessings to you all.
😂 when I lived in Wisconsin usually safe to put the tomatoes on Memorial Day. I also used the “individual green house method” however, storing 70ish bottomless milk jugs for 350+ days a year provided its own entertainment and challenges 🤣
You are absolutely correct in recognizing how smart pigs are. This is just the first year for 'rotation'. Easier next year if you don't modify anything. And by year 3 it will be routine.
You know pigs are the original party animals? Everytime you grab one they let you know they are having fun, they tell you, "Wheee! Wheee, Wheee, Wheee!"
Great transition with the pigs... I was so excited when my youngest daughter called me yesterday and told me that she had just purchased 2 pigmy goats from a friend of mine... she so much like me and I’m glad to share things that y’all do with her so that she has an easier time handling different animals...those piglets are going to grow like weeds now💚🌱💚
We have now all completed the course on "Pig Relocation 101". There will be a final exam on Saturday. If you feel the need to refer back to this video to complete the exam, that is totally acceptable. 😊
You guys are doing so great! It's so fun to watch all the doings on the farm in the spring! My friend's 6 year old daughter asked me, "Won't Charlie be lonely all by himself? He and Mildred like each other a lot." :-)
I "got fooled" a bit with the warmer weather. I have a small garden in pots, mostly a salad mix (spinach, red leaf lettuce and romaine). I have a few herbs and a few cherry tomato plants (seeded themselves from last year) that I need to cover because we have a freeze warning tonight near Nashville TN. Hope they all survive.
Enjoying your posts! Obviously you love what you’re doing. Why not call your blog “we’re so excited living traditions”. You are always “so excited” with everything you are doing. Keep up the good work!!
Tah dah, And now for the finale, entering piglet number one, followed quickly by piglet number two , the third piglet soon after, number four racing into the limelight while the tail end brought up by piglet number five. Applause, applause and bow out .
We raised hogs for years guys. If you put feed in a bucket and shake it at them they'll follow you for any distance. Usually. Lol You guys are the best. I enjoy you all more than any other shows. God Bless💖💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😘😘😘😘
Good morning! We aren’t getting pigs but we will be getting goats! Also just wanted to say we just started our channel and have been watching you guys for a long time and have helped us out with some growing techniques!
@@TheDealDepot it was right in the very beginning of Covid so it would have been nice to shake some hands but..... It was worth it anyway! Great family, Beautiful goats.
My husband is in Missouri for work and it was snowing yesterday and he was not happy coming from NC with warm weather 😂.. But yes the key to pigs is having a lot of patience, I love pigs..
A good pig story. Those pigs make me laugh, the mama’s slowed and layer back while the babies are frisk and funny. They like their mama’s feed , too. I’m sharing this w/ my son and his family in Prineville, Oregon. They have 4 pigs that are 4-H projects. They live on two acres, and have also built their own pens. Thanks for a great video.
Your son and family live in my old neck of the woods! Many years ago my Dad worked for the forestry service in Sisters, Ore. We lived in Madras and Terrebonne. I so loved it out there. Beautiful country and people.
Love pigs-Many, MANY years ago, I won awards while on the FFA Swine Chain. Also at our local animal auction, the auctioneer advertised a couple weeks ahead of time whenever I was going to bring in Weaner/Feeder pigs-he always got me the highest prices for my gentled pigs. I surely wish I could get back in to raising pigs again. I am so loving the IPP’s! I had mainly Durocs back then. I’m 61 now-so 4H & FFA was over 40 years ago!!! I don’t plant here until after the 1st of June we have 27 degree here every night. Last frost is towards the end of May; 1st frost is usually mid September!

Same!! Feels like we're family.
Love it too.
Same! 😁
As a rule, I never plant vegetables or herbs until the maple leaves open. Has never failed me.
Good garden tip!
Ginger ran into the barn behind Sarah's back and I was over here like "QUICK shut the door!!"
I was yelling the same thing..lol.
@@tinaploof8007 🤣🤣🤣
Sar
The most impressive part of this whole adventure... Kevin making it over that cattle panel while holding a huge plate of buttermilk & feed. :)
I just loved watching the piglets running out as if to say.." Yay we are free". too cute.

I would love Kevins shirt 😂😃🇭🇲
I was thinking it's a good job pigs can't read 😂
WOW, God knew I need a piglet day and you have me a video full. You have no idea what this took off of my mind! Thanks so much!
The love and respect and patience you give your animals definitely has Gods heart. ❤️
What a beautiful day in a beautiful place with beautiful souls...
Beautiful day for moving pigs BUT SNOW this am In Ontario! 6b
9:25 We need to get ginger into her side of the barn!
As ginger proceeds to walk in to barn!
That was funny
@@mtak1127 I know, I was trying to tell Kevin to turn around and look!
Just watching you two, your animals, cooking, gardening and your way of life. Fabulous.
Interesting, patience is key with pigs. Your calm demeanor is so helpful with your animals.
After I watch the news, which is very depressing, I put on one of your videos and the depression goes away. Thank you!
Exactly right!!
Ginger isnt getting tame because pigs are competative eaters. The pig more willing to come close to you gets the most food. Ginger doesnt have to compete for food so she just waits for you to drop it and get our of the way.
My boys and hubby were the same!😂
I enjoyed your moving day with pigs and those piglets are too cute!!🐖🐖💕
Have a blessed day you guys!!
You guys are such good parents for the animals it’s made my heart sing to see that congratulation
I read his shirt which said "I love bacon". Then I read her shirt which said "Love them anyway." LOL
That caught my eyes too. :)
Same! 😂😂😂👍
Same here.
The old saying of thunder in February means frost in April. Also when you see the yellow butterflies count 6 to 8 weeks till the weather changes from cold to warm and stays that way. The old ways usually are true.
Oh my goodness pig cuteness overload! 🐷🐖🐽🐷🐖🐽
Ginger is getting there, even a couple of piglets came up to Sarah.
You gave me my first laugh of the day when Myrtle finished eating and was taking her beauty nap. Poor thing. You had to wake her up
You never know when a nap is gonna happen!

I thought the same thing. Switch the hinges, add a longer gate and VOILA! Gate/blockade.
Love these videos. Thx for sharing your lives.
I truly believe that zip ties and baling twine make the farm world go round. Lol
Zip ties make my garden world go round.
Add duct tape and you have our farm
You’re fun to watch.
Bacon, head cheese, pulled pork, ribs, pickled pigs feet, ham, joules, cracklings, lard. Love your pig episodes.
I cant believe how fast those piglets have grown. Amazing.❤️
Justin Rhodes needs to watch this, so he can visualize how easy it can be to move livestock from one paddock to another!!
@juanita mills your correct, Justin's list of errors is quite long!
Sarah: love people
Kevin: love bacon
Match made in heaven.
🤣😂 Y'all are the cutest!
I love your videos about the pigs. We are in the research phase of having pigs. And seeing how you handle yours is really educational.
I love how patient and kind you are with your animals
i love that your shirt says "i love bacon" while you are moving Bacon on the hoof!!!!
Enjoy how you two do things. Can’t wait for you all start the planting in the gardens.
Its interesting to see how pigs are raised in a wholesome environment. They do not like wallowing in their own excrement. They are clean animals.

Same by me with rocks. The rocks multiply exponentially. Clear a bed one season, all good. Try to put in stakes the following year and bang!

Yes it pays to have a gate instead of electric fence where you move the pigs .good that you got some more gates . God bless 🥰👍
You inspire my husband and I. We can't wait to get our homestead going, but until then we practice on our current property
