"They said that the latest torque vectoring system isn't designed to work with full throttle in a straight line" - I interpret this to mean that full throttle in a corner, it still works. Which would be in line with how the previous torque vectoring system worked... essentially the bias is only applied when you're turning the steering wheel, the rest of the time both motors are used, which would explain why you felt a power difference when cornering but not when you measured the 0-60.

When you saw the ghost chasing the car were you near a cemetery by any chance? i hear if you drive a tesla around a cemetery you'll see lots of humans walking on the screen lol
That oversteer and understeer is actually a great feature for us petrol heads , other than the sound
Meh, still sounds better than almost all 4 cylinder cars, I think that's a non-issue, from a driving perspective this seems pretty great. The lack of HUD and stalks kind of ruin that of course, those are properly odd choices.
@@ApothecaryTerryI agree most modern cars with 4 bangers sound terrible IMO when you compare them to a proper Honda Vtec from the 90s etc. An F16 doesn’t make a v8 rumble from the cockpit just the hum of a gas turbine but no one seems to complain about that 😂
@@paulsimpson8990 Ha so true about the F16 😄 I love driving EVs, they're so satisfyingly smooth - exactly how a Lexus or Merc should be! On the other hand, there's a reason my last 3 cars were 2x V6 and 1x flat 6
...currently in a 4 pot, but that's about the handling (308 GTi - see AutoTopNL video today for why I like it!). NA Honda engines or old school rally-style turbo 4 bangers are both awesome. Any current Golf engine though? Nah, sleeping pills are cheaper 🤣

Probably my next car, upgrading my current Model 3P. The one thing I'm dreading is the staggered tire size, making rotation impossible, which negates tire tread wear warranties. No more prorated credits for half-utilized mileage, hello full-price tire replacement bills.
Why buy it then unless you have money to burn.
@@AndrewKeyz why are you broke ?
It does not negate tire tread warranties, it just reduces mileage allowed.
You missed the point Matt. With such a low price, this tesla can be a REAL alternative to a sports car. I'm driving an i30N right now. I saw what m2 can do and I'm dreaming about, but the price difference is huuuge.
If tm3 perf deliveres 90% of the performance (lacking in sound and fun department) that I would much rather buy it then 2x more expensive bmw (remember the maintenance cost)

Is it worth upgrading to this if I already have a 2021 model 3 performance?
Yes, if you can afford it.
As i am little bit expert i battery tech if you keep speeding the car you put alot of pressure in the battery which degrade the battery quicker
Looks great but i just cant see the benefit of buying one if you already have the older M3LR/P.

The problem with Teslas is that the insurance bracket in the UK is 50. Makes it soooo expensive to run

Reliable, not as expensive as sports cars yet it can beat most of them in the city, Teslas truly are something
Horrible cars.
@mauricetoussaint7283 yes, that's probably why the Tesla Model Y is the most sold vehicle in the USA
@Ayedidyae websites will rate it like that due to minor stuff like panel gaps, door handle not working properly, etc. If you ask any Tesla owner you see or know, they'll tell you different, reliable as in maintenance necessity, performance, and not having to worry with engine issues like ICE cars can have.
@Ayedidyae then now we know why you said it, I can clearly say you're the first "owner" to say that
@Ayedidyae and yet you don't see them in the shop due to mechanical failures, most problems are related to body work, panel gaps etc, considering the fact that is a new brand in cars that is expected.

They should start driving at the right side of the road in the UK..
@@Carfan678 As far as I know the CyberTruck is not allowed in the European Union because of its sharp edges and corners. So I think we will never see it road legal here.
Why is no-one talking about the fact that the American version is faster and has more horsepower due to it having a different battery. The US version does 10.9 in the quarter mile
10.9s is very unlikely in real-time conditions, probably measured with the rollout. Reality is around 11.1s or slower. They actually had the same stats until they changed it on the german website due to EU Law. Now less power but apparently similar times.
@@Nisimo6787 Yes, US version is considerably faster. With rollout, they do 10.8 1/4. Standard, they are 10.9 at 124 mph.

@carwow for a multiple of videos now when you zoom in on the infotainment it is blurry, 240p like blurry. I assume you crop in from gopro or something. It looks kinda bad
"That means you'll only feel the difference when cornering with anything less than full throttle" - I don't think that's the case, I think you misinterpreted what was said.
Too bad Matt can't test the more powerful US version
I can already see all the excuses lined up for when we get the carwow drag race between this and the m3 xdrive. 😂😂 keep crying . BMW is going to gaptize this ugly fish

the brakes burn up before Adenauer Forst on Nurburgring…. that’s under 4 miles of track driving.
M3P will never compete with real performance sedans like the BMW M3 until they address the braking issue. G80 M3 can do a full lap on stock brakes with no issues.
Considering 99% of all BMW M3s and Tesla M3Ps will NEVER go on a track, your point is invalid. Teslas humiliate BMWs on regular roads!
@@GuiGabois considering that driving on a backroad with turns will require you to use your brakes, your point is invalid. its supposed to be a sports car, its performance should not be one-dimensional.
It’s true but what’s even worse and what nobody talks about is the fact after 1 lap of the circuit the car has used over 60% of it’s battery 🪫 meaning it can only manage 1 fast lap, that’s absolutely terrible for a performance car 🤦🏾♂️ you can’t claim anything as a performance car unless it can manage it’s performance consistently across its battery storage level. Electric tech yes, battery tech 💩 an M3 has the same performance down to the last few miles of range and then in 2mins can fill its tank and continue. Battery’s can’t compete and their claimed performance is just short term. What manufacturers and media should be forced to do is take an average of their performance at different charge levels so it’s more realistic.
the gear shifting has a few options... the scroll up and down on the screen is one... two .. you can change the system to auto shifting... third the top where the rear mirror is... there are also buttons to shift gear there too.. :)

@det_tf2 an m3 is an all around better built car, plus the majority of people still don't want an EV simply due to the charging times.
Such a great car ❤
Why?
The phantom dude or bike was obviously due to the camera on the right side, where the fender camera is pointing to.
It's probably the camera you have fixed a foot off the car causing all of those "ghosts"...
What people don't know is the batteries are different in the model 3 performance compared to the long range model. The performance has Panasonic batteries which actually charges faster than the long range battery. So your statement about buying a long range over a performance at the end of the video isn't really true as you can still travel long distance with the performance and charge faster in the process making the performance the best model to buy overall
