I guess I don't see a lot of value in running my fingers across leather I only know is nice because I paid a lot for it.
Just FYI regarding the lack of a carbon ceramic brakes on the performance model. For this price range, it makes way more sense to have traditional steel brakes. When you start doing track days in this, you are going to be replacing brake parts at a much higher interval. And when replacing a carbon ceramic setup can be $10,000 or more, it gets painful unless you're stupid rich. So even though the CC brakes may offer better track performance, it's much more practical to stick with steel brakes (which also work and feel better in normal street driving to)
@@Plague_Rat778 19s will be available later which should help recover 10-20 miles or so of range back. And the lr has smaller wheels with thinner as tires so it would also suffer with these staggered 20s using 275s in the back.
2.9 is ridiculous but for everyday normal driving, you're getting diminishing returns at a certain point(probably once you get lower than the mid 3's). Reminds me of to 4k to 8k tv leap, will most people even be able to tell?
I would LOVE a Podcast related to the Auto Focus Channel & the EV/Hybrid market right now Marques. Maybe you and Miles could talk cars for an hour like Waveform if you have time. Keep up the good work bro!!
Agreed! now that the market is maturing a little bit, it would be nice to see your thoughts on EV purchases that include used options. Kind of like how you look at smart phones over time.
Think about a few years ago when you needed to pay 100's of thousands for that kind of power and acceleration... and now it's "just" 60k. Amazing stuff.
And its still dog shit. I think any sane person would still rather have a huracan thats slower but has that awesome V10 engine note than a 60k$ genericmobile ev trashcan with no sound
And it's absolutely garbage. What do you need 0-60 in 3 seconds for on a 3 ton boat-fridge hybrid that can't take a corner to save it's life. A 150hp Miata is a much better enthusiast car because it's much more engaging and fun to drive than this go-kart with 1000hp. This car is only for posers who want to brag that their toaster beats a $200k car while they send it flying into the wall of a grocery store because it takes off with the push of a button.
Awesome review. Curious what phone you used for recording this video. Either UA-cam compression really kicked in or the phone is over sharpening and compressing the video. Some parts of the video look weirdly blurry
Did you do your research before buying the 2019? If so, you would have known that the new Model 3 Performance or before was being called Model 3 Ludicrous was coming. I’ve been holding off buying a Model 3 Performance ever since they released the M3 Highland in China early 2023 and they kept saying Tesla was working on the Performance Model 3 so I just waited. I almost bought a older Model 3 Performance a few times because I was tired of waiting but thank god I didn’t!
If they were really serious about the environment with those deductions they should only apply it to the most basic models with the highest efficiency numbers, and not the ones that burn through the precious 'green' energy the quickest just for speed. Show's what a dumb system it is to begin with, but if you can use their stupidity in your advantage why not hehe
You don’t smoke a dodge, you breeze gently past it. Loud cars are cool ONLY when they go faster. If they go slower, it’s like a small dog with a loud bark
Does your phone have colors in its UI ? No ... Colors don't age well, distract you, and don't look good. White background and black font is the way to go for a car
I went to teslas website and was thinking "this is nice but you lose 40 miles of EPA estimated range compared to the long range... then i thought ... you ONLY lose 40 miles of EPA estimated range.. 🤔"
And if that bothers you that much, you can likely get an 18 inch aftermarket wheel for it to regain some if not most of that range back. But in my experience with my Model Y, long distance travel has gotten a lot easier overall in a Tesla because they keep adding more and more superchargers in many places, so going as far as you absolutely can on one charge is less of an issue than how fast can you charge at each station you do stop at. Or as Out of Spec Motoring calls it, "supercharger hopping". While you do have to stop more often, your overall trip is usually faster because you're spending less time at said superchargers compared to doing long deep charges at fewer ones that the car tends to do if you don't want to optimize the trip speed. At one stop, it told me to deep charge for about 40 minutes to make it to the next supercharger which was about two hours away. If I was eating at a restaurant, that might've been fine. But since it was the middle of the night, I instead picked the next supercharger in between where I was charging and where the car wanted me to go. I only had to charge another 5 minutes to make it to the next one, then stopped at that one for maybe 15 minutes, compared to if I did the 40 minutes it originally wanted me to do. This doesn't always work of course, because if the supercharger is full or you're at a V1/V2 supercharger, you'll probably have to wait. Should also be interesting as more non-Tesla EVs are able to use the V3/V4 superchargers and how they'll impact Tesla owners.
Worth Noting!!! This performance Model 3 is eligible for the $7,500 Federal Tax credit (making it $45,500!), whereas the RWD and LR AWD versions are not eligible - due to the batteries is the performance version being made in the USA whereas the others are not. That's a heck of deal considering most cars have a hefty mark-up at the dealerships these days.

Any idea why in France tesla model 3 performance 2024 comes with 3.1 seconds?😑
US model 3 Performance has more hp than France
@@NgocUSCuocSongMy Probably 3.1 is 0-100 km/h not 0-60
@@florinshm This is the reason!
0-60 in 2.9? Damn that’s impressive!
And you only lose 40 miles of EPA estimated range compared to the long range AWD, so honestly that's crazy too
This is probably with a rollout but we'll see. I would say on the regular it should hit 3.1 seconds or so.
@@Plague_Rat778 19s will be available later which should help recover 10-20 miles or so of range back.
And the lr has smaller wheels with thinner as tires so it would also suffer with these staggered 20s using 275s in the back.

my guy got absolutely SPOOKED OUT by a water bottle. haha love it!
He was shedding a tear for the littering, probably. Not literally.
The bottle nearly ruined his one take.😅

2.9 is ridiculous but for everyday normal driving, you're getting diminishing returns at a certain point(probably once you get lower than the mid 3's). Reminds me of to 4k to 8k tv leap, will most people even be able to tell?
Doug Demuro vibes with the empty Cali parking lot, I expect him to step from behind a tree anytime and say Thisss! ...is MKBHD!
😁
I’d prefer a Doug review…
I would LOVE a Podcast related to the Auto Focus Channel & the EV/Hybrid market right now Marques. Maybe you and Miles could talk cars for an hour like Waveform if you have time. Keep up the good work bro!!
review old cars!
Agreed! now that the market is maturing a little bit, it would be nice to see your thoughts on EV purchases that include used options. Kind of like how you look at smart phones over time.
or it could just replace waveform 🫣

Damnn that looking fine
Love your reviews. You always mention the specifics that we are after.
man this video was quick asf
Press had early access. Over two weeks early and had an NDA restriction until official launch. These “early review” videos are over two weeks old
do you wanna test the new electric mini? would love to see your review
image quality is good when you where filming yourself at the beginning, what do you use? Iphone? If yes, front or back camera? Thanks
The whole thing is filmed on an iPhone
I just love the video quality from the iPhone
It makes Marques look weird in the sunlight.
@@mogamer4511 You never drove a huracan, lmao Its a nightmare as daily driver.
@@mogamer4511 okay gamer!

Some parts of the video look weirdly blurry
iPhone 15 pro, he says it in the description, also yeah that has been an issue since the 14 pro
Damn, I was hoping you talked about the adaptive dampers more and comfort.
Would anyone buy a Model S then?
My understanding the dampers are Koni FSDs.
@@kafiluz4317 If they have the money why not? It's quicker than all but a hand full of cars, is more spacious, has nicer materials and looks better.
As well as the stalks...or lack thereof.
yea seems like a really skimpy review vid..
1:58 Marques still fears the mighty geese’s presence😂
You've got terrific video content with just an iPhone 15 pro, a lot of information, and relationships in business. thank you
Thank you for your review man I just bought a 2019 model 3 performance in November now I want the new one 🤦🏾♂️
Don't forget About the7,500 Deduction 😎
be careful tho. add white seats and any color but gray and the $7,500 rebate disappears
@@antimagnetwhy is that?
@@xKINGxRCCx rebate is only good for cars priced at $55k and under. So any options that bring the price above $55k kill the $7,500 rebate
@@xKINGxRCCxit probably goes over a threshold where it doesn't qualify anymore due to price.
How much quieter is it inside? How much smoother is the ride?
"Aftermarket' is a better term than '3rd party' when it comes to cars.
When you smoke the Dodges the soulless thing goes away 😂❤
i like hurting dodge guys feelings in the streets with my wife's Y dual motor 😎
You don’t smoke a dodge, you breeze gently past it. Loud cars are cool ONLY when they go faster. If they go slower, it’s like a small dog with a loud bark
No talk about the ride with adaptive suspension?
No.
First an only video I need to see about the new model 3 performance
That car is so bad ass
They should have put a seperate instrument cluster for the driver seat
Yeah or even a head up display, I would of preferred indicator and drive/reverse stalk to stay as well
5:16 "Can you NOT" 😂😂😂
Yes, no birds this time, just trash that typical drivers left, we are not in Japan or switzerland !!!
Why doesn't Tesla put color in their user interface?
This is easy/easier to road while you drive.

Does your phone have colors in its UI ? No ... Colors don't age well, distract you, and don't look good. White background and black font is the way to go for a car

Greetings from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
For filming on an iPhone 15 pro, the quality is incredible! Makes me want to get out and use mine more 📸
I went to teslas website and was thinking "this is nice but you lose 40 miles of EPA estimated range compared to the long range... then i thought ... you ONLY lose 40 miles of EPA estimated range..
I just ordered that exact car. I appreciate your review. Thank you.
The empty water bottle cameo was amazing
Love the Model 3 that i've had since the end of 22 but super keen for this when it's time to swap.
Ditto
Same. Hurting a little bit about the seats. And i wish they would give us the new track mode stuff, but fuck it
This Tesla Model 3 looks sick! I would love to own a Tesla Model 3 one day.
Perfectly timed :D
Faster than a C8 Corvette for $60K, with a rear seat and trunks. I'd consider this.
it even gaps the z06 to the quarter mile lol
Worth Noting!!! This performance Model 3 is eligible for the $7,500 Federal Tax credit (making it $45,500!), whereas the RWD and LR AWD versions are not eligible - due to the batteries is the performance version being made in the USA whereas the others are not. That's a heck of deal considering most cars have a hefty mark-up at the dealerships these days.
I just got the notification today. Clearly you got early access. I cannot think of anyone else I'd want to get first access.
They (media/press) got early access over two weeks ago and had to wait until official launch date to release content.
Savagegeese?
Like all the others that also got early access.
What camera are you using Marques?
He's mentioned Iphone 15 pro.
it says in the description iphone 15 pro
can you ask Tesla when they will release this in RHD? Its been 3 years and still no model S or model X in RHD
Great review as always!
Turn buttons is a deal breaker for me, such a shame
Oh noooo no buttons 😟 0-100kmh in 2.9 sec for 53k but theres no buttons 😔 degen
What was this filmed with? The lens flaring from 5:20 - 5:30 is atrocious
they need to hurry up with the Model Y Juniper performance!
They will release the regular Juniper first then the performance
I think the new model 3 performance is sweet, I just wish it had a hatch instead of a trunk. I would trade my Y in for it immediately if it did.
That’s what keeps me from making the leap. I’m a hatchback guy for days. It just makes loading gear easier
Y ludicrous coming out end of the year or early 2025
