The fact that the euro fighter does this well against the f-22 at all is very impressive, really shows off how capable of an aircraft it can be, but of course there is only so much you can do against a vehicle which breaks the laws of physics and flys like a helicopter
@F-15J Eagle yeah but that was when all conditions were against the f-22. America REALLY likes to put their best craft at every disadvantage to see just how capable it is. I’m not saying that even in ideal conditions the EF wouldn’t put up a fight because it ABSOLUTELY would.
3:18 Fun fact: It is basically impossible to over G an F-22, the avionics will essentially not let you. The aircraft will deflect both ailerons upwards to reduce the lift outboard, thereby reducing the bending stresses at the wing root.
I don’t know what everyone else sees, but I see a Eurofighter Typhoon demonstrating a reasonable challenge to a Raptor after the merge. Whether the handicap is critical to that, I’m not sure of, but canard deltas are pretty strong 4.5 gen fighters the way I see it.
That wasn't a challenge for the raptor. If it had been a fox-2 fight it wouldn't have lasted longer than a turn or two. The only time the raptor had trouble was when GS over ruddered and gave him the win. There was no other point where the raptor was in any danger.
Eurofighter is really interesting, its AoA is limited to 'just' 25°, same as F-16, but it can keep pulling 9g up until Mach 1.2 Low speed maneuverability is not that impressive, worse than Rafale and maybe even Gripen, but the faster the fight, the better the relative performance becomes, aided by an impressive TWR. There is the AMK or EFEM (Aerodynamic Modification Kit) with LERX, fuselage Strakes and changed trailing edge flaps, that increases the AoA to 35°, but so far no country has decided to buy (and pay for re-certification of plane and weapons configurations).
Monstrous in 1vs1. Although in a mass fight, that insane aoa kind of vectorial turn would break speed so much it would render extremely vulnerable to assistance from another foe.
Stealth my friend and BVR. Raptor is made for air dominance for a reason. But yeah you’re right, assuming this thing wasn’t stealthy and dogfights wouldn’t even happen, then yes it would be destroyed.
You clearly don’t understand what IR and all aspect stealth is :/ Even without. The merge isn’t going to happen, what’s the point of the METEOR missile then? Nah I guess that was just a propaganda device to scare American Allies. Oh well what about F-22s AESA radar that has been upgraded several times that can detect EF and lock? Nah I guess that doesn’t exist. In fact the F-22 doesn’t even have a radar. Neither does the F-15, because it’s not like both have locked a EF before. That never happened.
@Gary Pollard Well, you don't know about AESA, right? 32 km? lol. AN/APG-77v1, which is RADER that F-22 has can detect 1 m^2 sized materials in 210~240 km. and no RADER can back-trace AN/APG-77v1's RADER frequency. and even if EF-2000 got hot signature of F-22, Jammer of F-22 simply block the lock-on system of EF-2000. F-22 is not just a Fighter. It's fighter combined with AEWC(or AWACS) and Electric warfare fighter.
@@pitot0philo207what you said makes… no sense. There’s no “jamming” a heat signature, the Eurofighter uses PIRATE as a secondary “radar” to counter stealth or harder to track targets using IRST.

The problem with this is that as soon as you start to rely on thrust vectoring and high AoA maneuvers, you're going so slow that you're a sitting duck falling out of the sky... If there were a wingman you'd be toast. Every time in red flag when the IAF (Indian Air Force) brings their flankers and uses this capability the allies have developed strong and capable tactics to counter it. IRL 1v1 Raptor is highly unlikely to happen. In a planned mission, an F-15EX is going to launch payload from a distance on any targets painted by the Raptor or F-35. IMO USAF is already giving up on Raptor.

its amazing how in DCS turning the rate fight into a 1 circle with that 1 move by the raptor is actually a kinda big thing (around the 4:00 mark), and then in War Thunder that's literally one of the very first things you learn and use most often in fights. Obviously WT is not a simulator like this, and 3rd person view allows this to happen much more easily, but still, just an interesting take from a high skill WT player.

F-22 pilots found Spanish Eurofighters surprisingly effective against them. The scenario where the F-22 was superior was in BVR fight but in dogfight where no a clear "winner".

It’s actually pretty insane how once you get this close, experience between these two jets is a huge gap. One thing to mention is just how much fights change when you go two and two. The vectoring becomes harder to pull off without good communication and pressure from your wingman. It leaves you very vulnerable due to loss of energy.
