If flown properly, the F-16 will have a very big challenge against the EF. A lot of F-16 pilots had hard times when fighting in training against UK or German EFs. It is a beast even the F-22 should respect in WVR.
Well the EF is jokingly named "plasticbomber" by its and other pilots for the reason it is mostly made out of composite materials and that saves lots weight making it pretty nibel aswell as the comperatibe small size and the delta wing that gives much nose autority soo yeha a real challenge in dog Fights (with a good pilot) Too the Rafael well I dont know enough soo yeha probably also very capable and nibel plane Edit: did same resach on the Rafael well both have a liked history and therfore have pretty similar performance and basically if the The UK and Germany would be OK with reduced top Performance for better Start and landing Performance (aka carrier capebility) France wouldn't have pulled out (ok and other disagreements on the economic/political side) and that leads too same design diffences like canard position and split airintake and less angel on the leading ege of the delta wing all are better for carrier Service that gives the Rafael a small disadvantages like less thrust in high AoA and lower efficiency in higher speeds. And a bit more weight (stronger landing gear a hook etc) sooo if both pilots were on the same level the EF would have a very small advantage (in a fair/even Situation) but the skill difference between humans is biger so in the end the pilot is the part that makes the Deal what is the better plane 😅
I forgot how visually stunning Longshot’s videos are, especially with the Viper. Bro, whatever your graphics optimizations are, the other guys should be taking notes from you.
Weirdly it seems that "Growling Sidewinder" blocked me for saying the following: I don't think the Typhoon's modded flight model is very accurate. The Eurofighter is a pureblood energy fighter, all about speed and energy retention and built to have maximum maneuverability above Mach 1. From what I have seen the flight model seems to make it some nimble knife fighter like the F-16, which it isn't. I've read in a report about the newest version getting "leading edge wing root extensions" that they will improve low speed maneuverability and (quote:) "Give it the knife fight in a telephone booth maneuverability known from the F-16 and F-18." I doubt that the current mod is supposed to be that new version with those wing root extensions. What definitely isn't in the flight model is the real life "Shoot over Shoulder" ability the IRIS-T missiles give the Eurofighter. It doesn't have to dog fight, because it can shoot in any direction, even backwards.
If I remember correctly what I read in a report by an actual former Eurofighter pilot, he managed to defeat a clean F-16 while still carrying drop tanks once.
@@RichelieuUnlimited The EF has the best power to weight ratio of all modern jets (including the F-22) and it was designed to have the smallest possible frontal silhouette, both to reduce the frontal radar signature and to reduce drag, which helps with energy retention. So it is probably no wonder that it outclasses a F-16. Whether it does have the same low speed maneuverability and thus is as good of a dogfighter, that is another question though. It is named after the Typhoon, because its air intakes remind of the intercooler under the nose of the old propeller Typhoon, but from all you hear it is more of a spiritual successor to the Messerschmidt Bf 109. Small, sleek, low drag, limited maneuverability but maximized energy retention and vertical performance. People call it a "4th" or "4+" or "4.5" Generation fighter because it doesn't look as "science fiction" as the F-22 and the F-35, but it definitely does not play in the same league as actual 4th Generation jets. It is every bit as advanced and sophisticated as a F-22, just that it's main gimmick isn't stealth, but it is designed to be the best at dodging incoming missiles. It being the only fighter jet that has a gimballed AESA radar gives it unprecedented Cranking angles. It can Crank and Notch at the same time. And it is designed to have maximum maneuverability at speeds between Mach 1 and 2, which is the speed spectrum at which jets have the biggest advantage over missiles and its Super Cruise ability allows it to stay in that speed envelope as long as possible. Considering that "BVR" air combat remains a largely unproven concept and stealth is a gimmick that will probably be blunted by longer range FOX 2 missiles and better radar technology, I would even go as far as to say that the Typhoon is probably the best overall fighter jet in service today.
@@TrangleC Thanks for that. It's about time we had a part british machine on here that isn't or always seems to be subservient to the american fighters. Even Longshot said as much about the fighting characteristicof the EF. You don't usually get that from GS.
@@TrangleC Every country that was involved with the development of the Eurofighter has procured the F-35. If the Eurofighter had any merits then the US would have returned the favor and procured the Eurofighter for their own air force.
Hey Longshot! Love the vids! SUGGESTION: Bandit Unknown and you fly the Eurofighter. Make a 30-minute video so you ca dogfight numerous, different aircraft.
A respectful question. Would a sparingly rare use of the speed brakes help to force the opponents overshoot? Pop thebrakes open, more engine thrust then close them quickly.
The difference I saw. The first few rounds when he flew vertical you already lost your speed and went vertical which made you slow way down. The last round you kept your speed up and didn't have the same issue at all. Nice video.
Problem with F16 is that you always have to stay fast, which means that when you have your opponent in front, if you manage to do that btw instead of being defensive all day because you cannot do one circle fights, you also have one chance to kill him because you have to be fast too in order not to fall into a one circle contest if you fail that one only gunning run. I don't get why som many people like F16. F18 always was the better, much better plane.

You got 3.5 kills and he got1.5 kills.
yeah round 1 was definitely a fox 4 situation 😂
Longshot: "I'm trying to avoid the one-circle" - while engaging in a one-circle fight LOL
that 1st round, talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, poor eurofighter.
Crazy moves by the Typhoon pilot. Great fight.
NOW THAT WAS ENTERTAINMENT ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME !!!!!!!!!!

Goes without saying? Also, the Rafale most likely would present an even harder challenge.
So, good job on LongShot's part.

2:25 - When all else fails, throw your jet at him!
Dude was aggressive! Great fights!
This was a great fight! 2 of some of the most agile jets there are👍
I'd bet that if collision on 2:29 happened in real life, you could possibly find pieces of pilot's brains on typhoon's wing after landing.

You've improve quite alot since we last fought. I'd definitely like to dogfight you again some time.
That Round 4 was a bruiser of a dogfight!
Well.... you got him in the very end 02:25
Amazing video, as always. Have a nice day 🙂

The current typhoon is by every measurable metric superior to the F16. The aerodynamic mod kit just makes it even better.

Sir, great video as always!! Thank you , but.....could we see some more videos of you flying missions from your server? Many thanks
Sure!
Is that Eurofighter an EFM mod, by chance?
I like this typhoon pilot way of fighting
Very hard fight on both sides 😀
Seat of the pants excitement, yet again. It was tense. Who was that masked man in the Eurofighter I don't think I caught his name?
LS is more cinematic than GS, I just wish the shots were longer
for sure the Eurofighter is better than the viper in every aspect !!
but the pilot skills made the difference!!
good fight
Real longshot is just a better pilot 😂
is... different category
lol. First round, he hit the ground first. That's a win.
is super long ranged typhoon man.
On the 1st round fight, you won that one...😏
Because he did hit the ground before you did Longshot, so congrats on that win...🤣👍👍

way too much motion blur. you render that after recording or is that how you see it in the game?
