✅ Air Fryer Steak - Perfect Every Time
INGREDIENTS
2 Ribeye or New York Strip steaks (go for 1 1/2 inches thick)
avocado oil
salt
GARLIC HERB BUTTER
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Temper the steak by letting it sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.
Prepare the garlic butter by mixing together the softened butter, parsley, garlic, Worcestershire, and salt.
Pat steaks dry with paper towels, then rub a little bit of oil over the steak and bottom of air fryer basket. Liberally season steaks with salt and pepper.
Preheat air fryer to 400°F/200°C for 10 minutes.
Once preheated, place steaks in air fryer.
Cook for 10-16 minutes, flipping and rotating halfway through.
Cooking time will vary depending on your air fryer and thickness of steaks. Internal temperature of steak should be 130°-135°F/54.4-57.2°C for medium-rare or 140°-145°F/60-62.8°C for medium.
Remove steak from air fryer and place on baking rack. Top with garlic butter and allow to rest for 1/2 the time it took to cook.
Alternatively, turn off air fryer, leaving steaks in it, top steaks with butter, close air fryer and let rest for half the amount of time it took to cook.

My wife die two weeks ago from ALS after 8 months of fighting a never win disease. Marie and have been married 53 years and hate to tell you never cooked a meal on my own . Tonight I used my air fryer and did what u told me to do . I cried as I think about all our times together wishing she could see me cook this .
Hi David - so proud of you!!! I bet she was watching you from above and is so proud of you!
Dude, she knows & smiles .Remember the good times .The pain does become tolerable . Celebrate the good times had. YNWA
David you bought tears to my eyes so poignant.
I just made this steak for dinner. DELICIOUS! And thank you for the butter sauce recipe. It's my husband's new fav!
Yay! That's wonderful!
God bless you woman!!! You are my cooking savior. This is my exact air fryer and you helped me a lot!
You’ve become my sidekick as I open and (hopefully) learn to use our new air fryer! A huge thank you!!!!💗
Thanks for your support!
Your channel is a God-send, truly. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I’m looking forward to using these tips to making some excellent steaks in my air fryer!!
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Lol it's a steak in an air fryer
Hello Cathy, I love watching all your videos because you explain everything so clearly. You give volumes of information and great tips to plus links to the equipment you use while demonstrating.
I saw you show a piece of paper with temperature listings and you mentioned and showed where we can download it but I've looked all over and can't find it!
Thanks for producing all your air fry videos. They are very helpful and fun to watch especially when your children get involved!
Thank you, Janice! You can get the printable here: bit.ly/air-fryer-tips
Outstanding! Thanks for the upload. So good...without the time and hassle getting the grill ready.
For a twist try the air fryer reverse sear method, when you have a little more time and access to a hot pan. The goal here is to get an insanely brown crust. Cook at 170 F for about 20 min, depending on thickness, flipping and rotating once. When the internal temperature is 115 F, use a super hot pan to get the brown crust on - about a min on each side. Look up Helen Rennie’s video on reverse sear for more tips. The air fryer subs in for the oven bit.
Saw the video today and used it. Steaks came out great! Much appreciated.
I just got an air fryer, and you’re vids caught my attention first, and I’m hooked! Thank you for keeping your vids well rounded! Learning lots 🙌
Hi Alyssa, congrats on the new air fryer and WELCOME! Glad you're here!
Just made my first homemade steak using this video I was surprised how good it was. Video is 🔥
Thank you!
Oh my goodness! Just tried your method and it was honestly the best steak I ever ate. First time in my 48 years I never had to put A1 on a steak. Better than any steakhouse
Thanks for the review. And telling us all.
🤠🖖
Nah but it is pretty good
I do not have a thermometer, how long more after you flipped? Thank you
Which cut did you use?
First time? You’re a loser thenx
Well, you got me to sub and I don't even own an air fryer.

Lmao me too.

🤣
Me too!! And 2 days later I ordered one.
You are AMAZING!! Thank you so much!! Greetings from Mexico
Have had an air fryer for over 1.5 years and only used it once for fries. Watched your video and decided to try making a steak in it. Ribeye turned out the best I have ever made at home. Will definitely watch more of your videos and trying some other items in it. Thank you so much!!!
Woo hoo! THIS is why I love creating this content! Thank you for sharing with me, John!
@John Evans, do you eat pizza? Leftover pizza slices heated up in the air fryer are supreme.
I just made filet mignon out of this world even my hubby commented how juicey it was
Try cooking it in a frying pan. Let your steak sit out at room temp for about 30 mins and season with black peppercorn and sea salt only. Put olive oil in the pan and let it get hot until it's almost smoking but not smoking out the steak down for 1 minute and flip over 1 minute on the other side. After the second minute is up throw in a half stick of butter, smashed garlic cloves and thyme. Cook for 1 minute each side spooning the butter mixture over the whole time and flipping after each minute for about 4 minutes. Feel the steak and it should have the same texture as the meat on the bottom part of you palm next to the base of your thumb. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before you cut it so the juices don't spill out. It's way better this way but air fryer is ok for quick and easy
@@Henry-vw8xg almost anything reheated in the air fryer is superior to the microwave. Plus less time than heating an entire oven 👍🏼
Wow. Had my laptop right by my air fryer. What a steak! Airfrying is new to me. Thanks very much. I'm a new subscriber and I'm waiting for the e-mail with the Tips (followed the instructions). I'll keep watching your videos!

I always love the high quality of your videos😍! Such a great watch! As a chef, I definitely agree that less is more when it comes to seasoning meats, I normally do just salt and pepper😀! I don’t eat meat anymore though, but I still enjoyed this video❤️! You’re the best 🤗! Thanks for sharing 👍🏿
You're so sweet! Thank you for always leaving kind comments!
@@empoweredcooks Aww, THANK YOU❤️! And you’re welcome💕!
I made this recipe and it was delicious! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Yay! Glad it turned out well for you!
I like how you keep it real. It's not the best, but it is darn good, just tried it and it turned out pretty darn tasty and shockingly juicy
Thank you so much. The instruction manual doesn't say anything about pre-heating. For new years you helped me impress my wife 😄 . I'm watching this again to full memorize all the steps. Thank you so much keep up the amazing videos
I liked and I subscribed not only because of the great looking steak, but because of your charming personality and smile.
America could use soooo many more people like you right now.
Well thank you! ❤️ And the world needs more kindness just like yours.☺️
I mean if someone could be toxic while trying to make this video I would be worried
I totally agree! The sound that comes out of some American ladies' mouths grates on the ears but not our queen

I had just purchased an air fryer, and decided to go for it. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and tasted great. Thank you so much for sharing your tips. I tried this and honestly it was probably some of the best steak I’ve ever eaten! 5 star restaurant level!
Does this make smoke from the grease dripping?

So glad you are here! Thank you for your nice words :)
Cooked a NY Strip and Asparagus as my first air fryer meal. Amazing. I used all your tips and it came out perfectly. Thank you so much.
Wonderful! Glad it worked for you!
How much time for tbe asparagus?
@@maricelisfigueroa856 saw a tip for asparagus. Roll the bundle in a damp sheet of kitchen paper, wrap loosely, and microwave for 3 minutes.
No joke my rib eye came out suuuuper tender and juicy. Thank you!!!
Thanks! Followed your tips and had a wonderful dinner!
Thank you for sharing the tips.
I cooked one steak about 12 oz and half and inch, it was a little over cocked for my taste so the next time will adjust the time to 4 min per side. But with the additional garlic buttery mix it was delicious and soft.
I cooked two T Bone steaks in my air fryer last night and they was awesome. I used garlic and lemon pepper seasoning.
Very nice!
Made steaks for Valentine's day using your recipe. Perfecto! Thank you!!
Yay!!
Just got my air fryer the day before yesterday, i plan on making steak in it tonight!! Steak is love, Steak is life

Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! Thanks Cathy 💕🤗
I'm so glad it's been working well for you! Thanks Ellen!
Nice lady, however She takes forever to get to the point. Watch Richard in the Kitchen on filets, gets it done in one minute.
Gunna try this tomorrow
O M G!!! I have NEVER been able to make a steak that had great flavor and wasn't tough. I did an 8oz steak in my 2 quart air fryer per your instruction in this video. A B S O L U T E perfection for a steak. Medium done with just some salt and pepper as seasoning. So tender and flavorful. Thank you again for ANOTHER wonderful air fryer video. You're rocking it girl!!
YAY! So glad it turned out great for you!!! Just wait til you see what I have coming in a few weeks :) (filming it tomorrow!)
O N G!
@@empoweredcooks I don't see why you heat up your airfryer 10 minutes prior to the steaks 🥩 being put in to the unit?
Yeah heat it up, but 10 minutes is way too long, my airfryer is at full temperature within a couple of minutes.
Wasting time and energy ⚡.
@@lionelgower6877 I believe it is to get the grill plate to the temperature, not just the air temp. Hence the 'Sizzle' when you put in the steak.
I have never enjoyed cooking but now that I have an air fryer and Cathy’s help, I am having more success and it is almost fun.
I get that! :)
Going to try steak tips tonight using the same method! Thanks for sharing!
Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for the update, Very informative
No problem 👍
We have watched your videos since before we bought our Air Fryer. In fact your review of the Cosori AF convinced us to by that one. Your videos are perfect. Easily followed and great ideas/recipes. Right this minute, I am cooking bacon and all I did was select Bacon but added 2 minutes and ran 2 cycles (Wright Brand Hickory Thick Cut Smoked.....sooo good). Signed up for news letter and printed out the temp chart. Thanks to you, and to Cosori. Not sure how to do hash tags but would if I could. lol
That is so awesome! Thanks for your support, Lee.
Can you explain what you mean by running two cycles?
@@pharaohsmagician8329 I let the first cook time run, then did it a second time after turning the bacon I ran the same cook time again.
@@mtmartianesq thank you! Enjoy the Hunt for Bacon Mr. Grieves!
Tried this tonight and it turned out SO juicy, wow! Thank you for the tips!!
Glad you liked it!!
We just got our Cosori air fryer today thanks to,your, channel and demonstrations.
Wonderful!
As I’m doing college and working is so exhausting cooking when you have no time to eat. The air fryer it’s been a solution to my problems managing my time and eating healthy. Now the taste isn’t bad but sometimes it’s just not there so I began trying your tips and following your ways of cooking and it has been a blessing. Just wanted to say thanks a lot! Hugs from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Thank you for your kind words, @Ruben Third King ! What are some of your favorite dishes to make in the air fryer that I could share with my college kids?
I just ordered the Chop Box! Thanks for the recommendation, I've been looking for good place to get meat in bulk for a good price. Love your channel by the way.

Looks delicious, great tips
I just recently purchased an air fryer. I love it. Due to a medical condition I am on a strict low sodium diet, so no salt for me. I have cooked tilapia with Mrs. Dash Garlic seasoning. Half the cooking time of the oven and so tasty. Love your ideas and suggestions. Thank you.
You're welcome - I'm glad you're finding ways to make it work for you!
Tilapia is garbage fish...read up on it
@@gael3525 Again due to a medical condition and the availability of low sodium protein options in my area, I regularly eat farm raised tilapia.
Your channel is blowing up!! Woo hoo!!!
Thank you!
Love it!! Thank you.
I really enjoy your channel. I bought a cosori air frier and learn a lot from watching you on youtube. Thanks for all the tips and tricks.
My dad would bug out seeing how many sheets of paper towels you used to pay that steak
Same ahahah
Great recipe, I absolutely love your channel and subscribed a while ago, just one thing though, I've noticed on a few channels that you guys sometimes have trouble pronouncing Worcestershire. Don't bother with the 'c' it's pretty much obsolete so if you were to write it as we pronounce it here in the UK, it would be written as wustersher....'wust' as in bust, 'er' as in the er at the end of burger and 'sher' as in sherman (tank), wust-er-sher. Hope that helps, it's a pretty stupid word even for us (unless you actually live in Worcestershire, then it's great 😂)x
Thank you Steve :) I've had several friends on the other side of the pond nicely correct me. I think I'm getting it right now! lol
This was AWESOME! Thank you so much!
Can not wait to try this just purchased first air fryer new to all this
142 F is too high, even for medium. That's more of a medium well
Loved this video. So helpful. Thank you so much. I love your channel. I've learned so much from you Kathy. Be blessed.
Thank you so much ❤
I’m saving this video. You did a great job. I’ll likely get the same air fryer. Thanks for posting
Followed these instructions and it came out perfect
So happy to hear it!
I just followed your recommendations, just made a ribeye steak 🥩 OMG! Delicious!!! Thank you 🤗
Wonderful! So glad it worked out!
Awesome tips! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I bought an "air fryer" about a decade ago as a kitchen curiosity, (I don't eat chips) used it once, and put it away, but about a year ago I watched a few of your videos and came to realise this is the most significant kitchen appliance since the microwave. Everything I've done (lots with your guidance) has been a triumph, I've since bought two more; the same model that you have, one for the kitchen and one for the terrace to use in the summer. With a bit of guidance these things are incredible. Thanks for all of your videos :)
That is so awesome! I LOVE IT!
@@empoweredcooks I love the cooked food it produces, there seems to be a fair amount of leeway?, Basically everything from chicken Maryland to a rack of lamb comes out very very perfect, and if you're feeling wild; try chestnuts (with a knife/slice around the widest point) on high for 17 minutes and suddenly you've got roast-chestnuts with zero fuss. As mentioned; the most significant kitchen appliance since the microwave?. Again thanks for the great Edu/Vids ;)
Definitely going to try your method! I'm away from home trucking most of the time so only have an air fryer and never been able to make a good steak in it.
I followed your tips and it came out great
Great job!
Good ideas. Gonna do all of them right now.
I just asked for the List to be sent to me, I already have the cookbook via Amazon Germany and can recommend it to anybody, cuz it’s written so easy to follow, as nice as your videos 🎉😊
