For anyone watching, you are NOT supposed to use sprays like PAM in an air fryer. Cooking sprays often contain soy lecithin, which is less stable than high smoke point oils and can break down at the temperatures used for air frying. This can build up in your air fryer, especially in the basket or tray, and ruin the surface. Either oil it beforehand or put some oil in one of those small pump sprayers and use that instead. This is actually in the Cosori users manual or something similar. Adding an edit: Even if he is using safe sprays without soy lecithin or other chemicals, he does say at 3:10 to just spray it with whatever oil you have. He might be fine when referring to himself, but as someone making an informative video, shouldn't he mention that you need to stay away from sprays that aren't safe for the surface of the air fryer? If people watch it without knowing, they will spray whatever in their unit.
Also: NO SALT DIRECTLY IN THE AIR FRYER! It will scratch the non stick layer and release toxins witch makes your air fryer as useless as a scretches non stick pan! Please be aware!

When blanching (or, frankly, cooking) potatoes, the acidity and alkalinity of the water is critical. You want the outside soft, dash of baking soda in the water; want your potatoes done but firm, splash of acid in the water. Learned that from Kenji's roasted potatoes video and it changed my life. 👍

When I was a child, wings were considered scrap meat. They, along with hearts and gizzards, were about the least expensive parts of the chicken. Hey, you mentioned in the teriyaki salmon recipe that the air fryer can also bu used to cook a full meal. The meal only looked like one or two servings, especially the broccoli. How do you cook enough roasted veggies for the whole family, seems a bit small given the volume? It seems like while roasting broccoli or cauliflower in the oven takes more time, you can also cook way more quantity than what the air fryer can hold.

Just to share- when we are making home fries or similar we par cook the potatoes in the microwave on a covered plate. They steam cook essentially. A little faster than boiling?
While those wings look good, after getting a smoker and throwing in a $10 pack of wings that break down to 24-28 wing pieces, I just can't cook them any other way. 350-400 for an hour to 1.5 hours and they are perfection. Crispy, fall off the bone tender. Takes almost no effort, just a bit more time than this, but the flavor is out of this world.

Thanks Mike, I've Purchased the book & can't wait to get stuck in. Since I'm from Australia (metric weights & measures) I'm glad there aren't too many conversions to figure out as there are in a lot of American recipes. Cups + spoons are fine, and a pound is 440g or there about, and most things in Aus supermarkets are packed in Kilograms or half kilo packs (such as minced/ground meats) so 500g so close enough not to mess with your recipes.

Check out Chris Young's video on Fries - it is very similar to your process but adds a few steps including roughing it up in a box pre-cook so the surface gets coarser and making a far crispier end result.
Learned something new, you didn't cook the chickpeas, just went straight from the soak to the processor, didn't know you could do that. That'll save a lot of time. Thanks!

Could you do a video on how you clean your air fryer, if you haven't already?
The ninja flip up convection oven (which is just an air fryer) really solves the counter space issue.
I have never used an air fryer. This is intriguing.
i used one once and returned it because it was the same as using an oven ....also i need a larger area and air fryers are just too small.
@@Roy-G-Biv My husband got one and we returned it for the same reason.
7:46 That tomato looks amazing.
The tofu one is so real. Nothing comes close in terms of simplicity and crispyness.
for french fries, i do skin off and crinkle cut for more crisp. also do first fry at 330 for 14 mins shaking basket half way and then 380 for 20 mins shaking basket every 5 mins. also parboil for 10 mins before everything.
Hi Mike, bought your book and I have some constructive feedback. You state all of your temperatures in F. In the future can you please put C in brackets after the F amount. Thanks. XOXOXO
Haha no way that first air fryer video was 7 years ago! I remember watching that when it came out!
6:36 Even frying burgers in the hob the smell of oil wouldn't go away
3 seconds in...I...I can't do it. I just cant.
Congratulations on the cookbook!🎉
Got mine this morning! ❤
need more vids like this
Question do you ever preheat your air fryer for any of the recipes?
2:32 a solid line
I’ve had the xxl airfryer for two years and it’s changed my cooking world as I rarely turn the oven on now. I joined a Facebook group for my airfryer and there are thousands of recipes and ideas that you would never normally think of. I think people get put off by the word “fryer” I like to call it an air-cooker
Just to share- when we are making home fries or similar we par cook the potatoes in the microwave on a covered plate. They steam cook essentially. A little faster than boiling?
So no recipe for that falafel dip?!
🤤
Thank you! ❤
i want to try the falafels.. also skip on the spray oils
arent healthy just use avocado oil from a bottle.
Thanks for the video. What is ‘tofu’? Looks like some sort of cheese?
While those wings look good, after getting a smoker and throwing in a $10 pack of wings that break down to 24-28 wing pieces, I just can't cook them any other way. 350-400 for an hour to 1.5 hours and they are perfection. Crispy, fall off the bone tender. Takes almost no effort, just a bit more time than this, but the flavor is out of this world.
Mmmmmm Wowww! Back button..... Yayyyyy
I bought the cookbook it looks really interesting I've been using my air fryer more now that I'm having some health issues it's just easier to use it that's why this cookbook will come in handy god bless
No salt on that tomato 👀
But seriously you are the reason I got my air fryer and god damn that thing is just such a game changer
Hi Mike, does your cookbook also contain the option for temperature in celcius? 😊
What is the sauce with the falafel?! Anyone know?? Thanks ❤
Hey Mike, I'm assuming that the package I have at the post office for $10.29 is finally my cookbook?
I need a book for my new air fryer
I would love to see what you think of the Ninja Combi or above combi oven !!
ANOVA !!
Your absolutely a master at air frying, so buying your book was a no brainer. But I nearly skipped it cause of you trying to sell me an 10x more expensive course before I even finished buying the "Air frying book". On my mobile I had to scroll quite a bit to eventually finding a link to NOT buy the extra offer. Right there I was close to cancel the order, but I went through with the purchase cause I know your the real deal. I just wanted to tell you how I felt about this way of selling!! Sure give me that offer but not in that way...
Great book, I am glad I bought it! 😄
I bought the "Jr. Edition " Air Fryer, he uses.
Bro can u do top 10 recipes on Indian quick food in air fryer that would be great 😃 I am a big fan of ours air fryer recipes
good video, have you ever tried a tuna melt sandwich in the air fryer?
Thanks Mike, I've Purchased the book & can't wait to get stuck in.
Since I'm from Australia (metric weights & measures) I'm glad there aren't too many conversions to figure out as there are in a lot of American recipes. Cups + spoons are fine, and a pound is 440g or there about, and most things in Aus supermarkets are packed in Kilograms or half kilo packs (such as minced/ground meats) so 500g so close enough not to mess with your recipes.
Hey, I was looking into the cookbook. Question, do you happen to have a version with metric units as well?
Mike, have loved your journey for the past decade! thank you so much for all the inspiring videos to improve how to cook! looking forward to your moving forward adventures as well! love my ninja air fryer! i have a traeger smoker but it was so time consuming so i got a ninja air fryer woodfire. check it out! air fryer features plus adding the smoke qualities still with the quickness! plus, it has a cold smoke feature to cold smoke cheese so you get quality flavorful cheese to shred, grate, etc without "sawdust" lol
How long does homemade teriyaki sauce last in the fridge?
Check out Chris Young's video on Fries - it is very similar to your process but adds a few steps including roughing it up in a box pre-cook so the surface gets coarser and making a far crispier end result.

Learned something new, you didn't cook the chickpeas, just went straight from the soak to the processor, didn't know you could do that. That'll save a lot of time. Thanks!
Try falafel without basil and add a bit of garlic to it
