Thanks so much. My first issue was that my interior water dispenser on my whirlpool refrigerator freezer suddenly stopped dispensing water so I checked some other videos and discovered it is my water reservoir was frozen, hence, no water flow. That was an easy fix. Just took my hairdryer and blew on the reservoir for about 5-7 minutes. Everything started working properly so now it’s late in the day and I’m worried that the reservoir is going to freeze again! Thankfully, I came across your video, with reasons why food may be freezing in the refrigerator. Sure enough I had the vent blocked with a couple loaves of bread. This was an easy fix. Just put the bread somewhere else and have the vent wide open now. Had I not done that I would’ve had the same freezing issue tomorrow! I’m all fixed up now and I should not have an issue with the freezing reservoir now anymore. Again, thank you very much.

Thanks for your help, my curd in the refrigerator section kept freezing no matter in which rack I kept it in, after watching your video I found out that the Nob in my fridge was on Full Blast 😂😂😂 Now I don’t have to thaw my curd every time I take it outta the fridge
That did the trick. I cleaned the dust off the fan, and gave the air vent more room. Temp now is 36deg F. Thanks
Our Maytag top freezer refrigerator started freezing food in the refrigerated section right after we bought it. The repair tech said that it was a manufacturer’s defect and he couldn’t do anything. Whirlpool/Maytag was no help whatsoever. We won’t be buying their appliances ever again!
Thank You! Hopefully one or more of these will help. It was a little higher on the coldest temp! But I have tried it both ways. Hopefully moving everything away from the vent and I will be set! 🤗🤗
We already checked the thermostat and for optimal air flow. What other possible issues could be causing items in the fridge compartment to freeze after the compressor was refilled after not keeping either compartment sufficiently cold?
It didn’t resolve my issue, what should I try next? :(

Hey , my side by side Frigidaire model FRS26R4A is running too cold on the fridge side (mid 20's) and not cold enough in the freezer (12-15 degrees). I can feel/hear the air flow, if it helps, the drinks on the top shelf are freezing but the food on lower shelves are not affected. I did a rudimentary cleaning of coils in the back, no seals are cracked on the doors.. This is a "garage" second fridge so no water lines are hooked up, no ice. Can you suggest where I might start? Temp control, air damper etc. Thanks much
Thanks to you, I think I’ve found the cause of items freezing. It has to be the vents being blocked. I’ve already taken EVERYTHING out of the frig, for a good cleaning, so I’ll be sure to avoid blocking any vents. Or maybe I just need to not pack it so full.🤣
Why oh why do manufacturers persist making combined frigfreezers with. just. one temperature control. I had seperate frig & freezer. Kept accurate temperature for either! I hate the idea, they don’t work at all!
I wish they built a bracket around the vent so you can’t block it...going to check if mine works now since I cleared around the vents....😅
My firdge has rarely few items only kept inside it but whatever is present inside gets frozen. Even fruits/veggies/breads

I'm going to buy an office cage that goes on a desk to hold items and mount it in there. Or one of those cage type pencil holders.
So turn off the automatic ice maker was the only thing I haven't done to prevent my food from freezing on fridge side. Haha genius design. I'm starting to realize I bought a piece of junk ($2k whirlpool). My last was Frigidaire low end lasted 15 years and never had issues like this. This whirlpool has digital temp and set to their recommend to 38. Next I'll have to increase that I suppose.
It's funny cuz I just replaced a Frigidaire that did nothing but freeze my produce. It also had an ice maker that only worked when it wanted to and we reflected that and the computer twice! NOW I have a kitchen aid that is freezing my produce. I literally also have an old old mini fridge in my garage with the cold on the back that I'm depending on to not freeze lettuce! Lol repair guy coming this week... We'll see

@WService: For me the setting is fine in the refrigerator, the ventalation is not block, and my refrigerator does not have an ice maker, but does have a freezer on the top, it seem for me the only time it Freeze in the refrigerator in normal setting if it is hot and humid outside the house, and also the product place in the back of the refrigerator, are more likely to have ice.

Only happens when compressor is working for hours to freeze about 8kg of meat I placed in the freezer. During this period, the bottom Veg drawer can get to 0°C even though I set the fridge to 5°C. After I run diagnostic, the unit resets and compressor quiets down and no more problem until next month. (It's an LG fridge).
Lol! I have the same problem with an LG fridge I bet we have the same one.
How do I know if my ice maker is on? I don’t have a switch/button for my ice maker.

These guys either don't know anything about a fridge or deceptive! What they are not trying to tell you is besides the two reasons he mentioned he left out that it could be freezing because of the the Control Board(the control board is very rarely the cause of the problem. Before replacing the control board, first test all of the more commonly defective components.) or Thermistor(A defective thermistor could cause issues with the compressor and evaporator fan, resulting in the fridge becoming too cold.)
